Simple and Intuitive for our growing business
They have been great to work with and support is super responsive
Pros
One thing I like about Melio is a newly released feature that allows us to pay multiple invoices to one vendor by one payment. We often had to create individual payments to each vendor separately so now we can combine into one payment makes everyone's life easier.
Cons
We had issues of the preferred payment method of payment to vendors change without us making the change but that seems to be a resolved issue.

Melio is the best and works seamlessly with QBO
There were a few kinks at first but most of them have been worked out, the customer service is great. I have enjoyed working with them to fix issues or work out bugs. The ease of the app and ability of the integration with QBO is unprecedented and has seriously saved me hundreds of hours for each client that I handle bookkeeping for. I love how quick and easy it is, and it's all in one platform, incoming, outgoing and history. I love everything about Melio.
Pros
The fact that it is free for ACH and has the integration with QBO. It has become my go to for my clients and bill paying and payment processing. I can track all of there A/R and A/P and submit payments or receive payments with a click of a button, makes it so easy and simple. I recommend to my clients and I use it myself almost daily. I love how it gives you options, you pay the fee or your customer does, they make the call on how they want to be paid via check or ACH. It just makes sense.
Cons
The fact that the ACH option still takes sometimes 3, 5 or even 7 days to receive does put a strain on cash flow for some clients. The processing of checks also seems to take a really long time, sometimes I will get a bill in and go immediately to setup payment and it states the received date would still be after the due date which makes it frustrating at times. I appreciate the 2 checks a month for free before charging and realize it can't all be free, but it was nice when it was free. I also wish they had more business to person options, not just B2B. This would be super valuable for Non-profits to save on processing fees as well as some MLM businesses.

Took My Client's Money
I WILL NEVER USE MELIO AGAIN! You are like an insurance agency - you only find out how good they are when you file a claim

Melio is great if all you want to do is send out bills and have no issues besides cancelling a check you sent. However, the software started populating vendor names for vendors we NEVER did business with, which ultimately ended up with a check going to the wrong vendor. The vendor called me and notified me of the mistake, but would not cut us a check back or ACH us the money directly. Instead, they said their policy was to send the payment back via the exact same means it was sent to them...BIG MISTAKE! Melio claims they don't have the money and have no way of tracking it (even though I gave them all the info the need to search for it), and on top of that, they REFUSE TO ALLOW ANYONE FROM MELIO TO CALL ME!I have requested multiple times for a manager to call me. They even put in a call request...what happened? They would only respond via email and of course I kept getting representatives. After no less than 25 emails back and forth, I finally got a response from an "accountant manager" who told me there's nothing they can do and they are closing my case. Um, you have over $1200 of my client's money and I have requested multiple times to be called so I can discuss this issue with someone at the company in higher management, and I have flat out been denied! I CONSIDER THIS THEFT!!! Melio has stolen my client's money and won't make it right.You can't call them, and they WON'T CALL YOU! VERY UPSET WITH THIS COMPANY AND THEIR LACK OF FOLLOW THROUGH.

Love it so far
Great! I am very happy with all features Melio provides and will recommend it to anyone who needs a payment processing system.

Cons
I had a problem with a Wire transfer once, I haven't tried it again to know if the issue was fixed. Will update when I use it again.

Melio pays
I rely on it to pay and get paid.
Pros
It's effortless to set up. More importantly it's easy for my clients to accept and adopt the software into their business.

Good unless you need a critical payment to be processed immediately
Up until the failed same-day payments, it had been a pretty good way for us to send out payments without having to get checks signed. I am very disappointed with the same day payment issues though.
Pros
It's free and can be used by the owner from his cell phone.
Cons
We had two critical payments that had to go out same day. We paid $30 to have them expedited and they both failed. Customer service could not tell me why and the issue was never resolved.

Melio Feedback
I am happy with the product, especially since it is free for the functionality I am using it for. I would be willing to pay a small fee (at least the cost of a stamp) to have live checks be processed and mailed on the same day that the payment is processed.
Pros
I love that I can pay all invoices without printing and mailing checks. It is also great that the program completely integrates with QuickBooks so the bills show up automatically in Melio, and with a few clicks I can pay all of the bills.
Cons
It takes over a week for a live check to be delivered to a vendor, which is a long time.

When it works, it's great
Even though it is (mostly) free of charge to use, I have lost confidence that payments will be made as scheduled. The need to keep monitoring Melio and our bank accounts means that I am now investigating other options, even if I have to pay for them.
Pros
I wanted a way of paying my vendors by ACH. I wanted to be the one that solicited their bank details - not have the payment company dis-intermediate me. There were some bonus features: if a vendor doesn't want to be paid by ACH, I can still use Melio to pay them by check; They claimed to support international payments; I can set up multiple companies of mine on one account and have the staff of each company only access the relevant one. It's tough to argue with free.
Cons
There are some vendors that need paying every month, but the amount changes from month to month: Melio's recurring payments only works if the amount is constant, so you have to set up a payment from scratch each time. However the biggest issue is with payments that do not go through even after receiving notification that they are scheduled.....on several occasions, I have had to bring 'stuck' payments to Melio's attention. Operations typically blames it on Compliance and says they can't do anything.

Regarding payments that are declined by Compliance or fail to deliver to the vendor for various reasons, Melio users are sent an email notifying them of the payment failure as well as the reasoning. Good for Small Volume Payment Processing
Overall, Melio has provided a great solution for our business to be able to easily send ACH payments to our vendors. This holds the highest value in their product for us. However, time to deploy new features is often far overdue, and leave the platform feeling lacking most of the time.
Pros
Easy setup and deployment, connection with external accounting system began easily.
Cons
Does not provide a great solution for medium-sized operations that need to batch out large quantities of payments or sorting and balancing this data.

Best Transfer Service Available
Compared to our prior way of making payments to vendors, Melio makes it extremely easier and even saves us money!
Pros
Melio in my opinion is the best transfer service available. Simple and quick to use, it offers a tremendous value. Furthermore, customer service is one of the best I've dealt with.
Cons
It would be great if there was an ability to send international wires in other currencies. For example, in Chinese Yuan.

Great system
It has been great, my only cons are relatively minor issues, and the system is very useful for my business.
Pros
Melio is a great payment processor, I have a much better experience with them than with their only real competition, Plastiq. While Plastiq has IRS-esque customer service, Melio really go out of their way to ensure a positive user experience. Melio is also faster at processing ACH payments, which is a huge plus.
Cons
It would be really helpful if Melio offered wire transfers, and aggregate payments (ie, charge 10k to card 1 and 10k to card 2 so as to issue a single payment of 20k). Also, sometimes compliance reviews cause payment delays. They could perhaps offer a cut off before which compliance reviews will not cause delays if the review is passed, that would make the system have more reliable timing.

Good when it works, horrible when it does not

Pros
integrates well with QBO, pricing is great, easy to seup. When all work well is a good experience.
Cons
Horrible, almost non-existent customer support. TWICE, in just a few months of using Melio, they have sent out duplicate payments that were only entered once by me. First time they caught it and notified me a few days later, second time (a few days ago), vendors started calling me saying they got paid for an invoice that they had already been paid for 2 weeks ago. First time dinged my account for $60K, this time $26K. No explanation on what happened either time. Spent 2 days on Chat with no help whatsoever and promises to call me never happened. No phone number to call to talk with anyone, just have to email and wait many days for replies. No one seems at all concerned that I can't pay my bills dues to vendors since they took $26K out of my account or may bounce a lot of checks. There MUST be a number to call someone in emergency situations like this.

I wish I could give a better review
The software has developed a lot of bugs and customer support is severely lacking. I contacted support a month ago because I get an error message EVERY time I try to process a bill payment. If I log directly into Melio I can see that sometimes it has in fact gone through. Sometimes it does not and I have to initiate the payment directly from Melio. I manually mark the bill as paid in QBO and at some point the bill payment syncs so it looks like I have overpaid every invoice I process via Melio. I then have to go through each and figure out which payment is the correct one to remove from QBO. For smaller issues, I usually figure out a workaround before I ever hear back from support.

I like that is used to sync with Quickbooks

No Support - You Get A Lot Of Promises, But No Action
Absolutely the worst customer service. Why? because there isn't any. I have been trying since Dec to resolve an issue and it just keeps getting worse. The last straw was when I deleted my account and re entered it only to be connected to a former clients account that I have no access to at all. There was a 2 week period that I called every single day and left a message and never did I receive a call back. Just the worst! I've been on a chat with them this morning and they just stopped responding after a few minutes. So frustrating

it worked great until you have a problem then everything comes to a complete stop with no help
Cons
Support, there isn't any. They suspended a clients account but didn't notify us. When I finally reached someone who could help, I was told what to do and still nothing. This happened in Nov 2021 and still no resolution. I tried to delete my account and sign up again and it connected to a QB account that I have no affiliation with which is scary. They said they would look into it and nothing yet Four months later and nothing but empty promises

Great Product for small business owners
I've recommended Melio to all small business owners that I've met across the board and utilize it for all 5 of my own companies. This helps me so much in terms of organization and cash flow.
Pros
I love that I can control cash flow easily using Melio - it will remind me about when bills are due, I can easily see what I have outstanding, search for paid/unpaid invoices by vendor and plan out when my bills are best paid.
Cons
I would love to add an entry area to specify the difference between "delivery date" and "due date".

A God Among Men
We use Melio to send all our ACH transfers. You can quickly upload and create bills and schedule payments for whenever they are due. when you send transfers via your business debit card, they arrive to your vendors NEXT DAY! It's super easy and actually fun to use.
They also have the ability to pay your vendors via credit card, so they charge your card and deliver the funds to your vendor's bank account for a small fee. It really helps us keep up with cash flow, plus the 2% back from the credit card makes the fee almost non existent.
And with the direct connection to Quickbooks Online, its super easy to sync all your vendors, bills and payments, making Melio a perfect bill management application. We'd recommend it to everyone.

Worst customer service ever!!
Pros
No pros at this point. I thought that this was going to be a great choice, but it is not!

I processed 13 bill payments on 9/6, the funds were withdrawn from my account immediately. I started to receive phone calls from my credit card accounts, bank, insurance companies saying that payment was never received. I immediately looked at the QBO account, then my checking account. I reached out to MELIO via a chat and email. I was able to chat with a representative who eventually told me that "Unfortunately there was a bug in the system that prevented the payments from going out." REALLY?? And you couldn't even make your clients aware of this when it was occurring or even afterwards?! NOPE, now I have incurred late fees, and penalties. I requested that they overnight mail these checks to my vendors with an explanation of what occurred on their end, but was told that there was no way for the system to expedite payments, but could give me promotions for future payments as long as I was eligible. I requested contact with someone in a supervisory role, but have never heard from anyone. Again, all their fault, but no responsibility taken on their end. This company is just a joke, and I have expressed my concern with their business practices to Quickbooks as well. If you are thinking of a billpay service--stay away from MELIO!!

Faulty System
Customer service does not seem to provide accurate information as it pertains to when vendors payment will be deposited. Several calls has to be placed day after day to for the same payments. Their system seems to be faulty.

We use Melio via Quickbooks for Accounts Payable. The system is faulty. Whenever payments are scheduled, they get stuck in the "Schedule" queue. There is no phone number to reach their support staff. Communication is done via a live chat. The customer service representatives assure payment was pushed only to find out days / weeks later the vendors still have not gotten paid. This has a negative impact on the health of our business.

It's a good low cost option for paying vendors and works for remote teams
Pros
It eliminates paper checks. We also have a remote bookkeeping team so it lets them prep bills for us to approve easily.
Cons
Payees seem to be confused about onboarding with Melio, it works fine for paying smaller companies but for bigger entities the online onboarding seems to be a roadblock. Sometimes we have multiple emails and phone calls with their accounting people before they figure out what to do. Could make that way more streamlined.

My review for Melio
Overall my experience with Melio has been a positive one. There were a couple times where I had an issue but I was able to resolve it fairly quickly.
Pros
I like that this software directly links with my QuickBooks account. Payments are very easy to be made and are made in a timely manner.
Cons
I don't like the new feature of how invoices are listed in the inbox. It should be listed in the order that I entered the bills and they are not.
