Advanced tool for advanced users
Best tool (despite cons) for small business inventory management
Pros
- Lot of features, options, various settings... all together bring opportunity to reflect almost any process you may think of. But if your vision turns to be different from one of system designers, then workarounds are demanded in many cases that seemed to be "common" and you expected them to work "out-of-box". You really need good understanding of the way system works and it is point where good onboarding consulter may help.- Responsive and quick interface (though quick reporting tools and documents lists could be more convenient).- Lot of detailed reports with settings that almost no other ERP can suggest. Cool tool for advanced users familiar with pivot tables.- Responsive and attentive support resolves most of problems
Cons
- Strange limitations in accounting settings and flow (especially when you use QBO and want to use both Dear's and QBO's analytics capabilities at the same time)- Integrations with Amazon and Shopify are cool for capturing "orders" when you are not using automated 3PLs flow. But integrations are not good for capturing invoices and shipments when you are using 3PLs like FBA. Accounting processes for e-commerce are designed in quite a specific way and you really need to understand how it works to get reliable accounting data. Thought this is wide spread problem in world of ERP systems for small businesses.

DON'T move your Software over to Cin7 Core-you will not see the end of price hikes.
Since moving to Cin7 (formerly Dear Inventory), we have faced non-stop price hikes. They keep attributing these increases to "system improvements," but we aren't seeing any benefits from these changes—none of them seem to impact our usage. Why should we be billed for improvements we don’t use? And if they're making enhancements to attract new clients and stay ahead of competitors, why are current customers footing the bill? In our business, we constantly make improvements to our products without charging more, as it drives more sales for us.
To give some context: we started with Dear in October 2021, paying $249 per month. After yet another increase, they now want $669 per month. That's a staggering jump. What’s even more questionable is when I asked them why our base subscription costs significantly more than what’s advertised on their site, I received no reply. Their website lacks transparency on pricing for additional services like B2B and POS, meaning they charge whatever they think they can get away with.
For anyone considering Cin7, I’d recommend exploring alternatives like Zoho. Something is clearly off with the way Cin7 is handling pricing and communication.

Hard to set up
I liked the person who helped us to set up, but he's connection was poor so sometimes, it was hard to follow the conversation. The team don't really know how the app (integrations) works together without a inventory system so it's hard to have specifications about it. I liked the little video I had before, but at one point I wasn't able to use it again. Overall, It was a long process that wasn't really easy to follow step by step. We are live but a lot of thing is still unknown of not clear. We had product that was suppose to be "out of stock" because of past orders, that was "back on stock" so this morning we have to deal with customer. An onboarding journal would have been awesome so we can have a step by step guide and a place to write our thoughts a long the way instead of forgetting it between the meeting. For the cost on the onboarding, it didn't worth it at all
Pros
Once you understand how it works, it makes everything easier.
Cons
The integration is really hard to follow. There's a platform available to follow it, but you don't actually see anything on it or you you do, you don't really understand what you can do or not. I feel like there was no link between each task. I didn't like that the onboarding team do a lot instead of letting you do it so you get more familiar with all the process.

Over all its ok. I think the best thing would have been to do was to upgrade OrderHive and leave that inplace. It was a great system that worked well.
Pros
There isnt really anything that I feel sticks out. I think its a little cumbersome and easy to get lost or forget to click on one of the tabs. Too much back and forth.
Cons
Not user frindly. Too much clicking to get where you want to be. Not able to modify sheets.

Has potencial but a very poor customer service and is missing very simple yet important...
We were working with orderhive and had to change to Cin 7.
At first it looked very promising because Cin 7 had some nice new functionalities but but we never imagined we were going to go back on some basic funcionalities we had. We thought the new system would outgrow the one we used, but this didnt happened. The new cin 7 core didnt include very practical and easy funciontalities we used on daily basis.
For example now we are not able to have 2 different stores like we had for our wholesale business and retail .We see the sales alltogether and because of this simple reason there are many things we are not able to do. Then being able to update attributes of products in bulk from the site, having unpickable bins, being able to map shopify to several locations not only one, being able to select what not to push into quikbooks and I could go on.
Some very easy and simple features that made our lifes very easy are not cin 7 core now, so for us it has been a lot of work and hours of implementation and we are not happy with it overall. We will probably change to another system ibn the future, not now because it has been very tiring for the whole team and it has taken a lot of our time.
Pros
The best about Cin 7 core is that it is very easy to receive merchandise at the warehouse.
Cons
The customer service is really bad. If you dont resend the tickets they might never answer, then, when they do answer, they give you a really bad response to close the ticket and want you to get tired of asking. 95% of the important issues do not get solved they tell you they cant help you, when you know there has to be a simple way to solve certain issues or they just answer what ever they want without considering what you asked for in the first place. You waist lots of time in this. They send you tutorials that dont resolve your issues and so on, I can keep on going.

Not a good fit if you need any level of customer service or implementation support
Was initially excited about how the features could assist our inventory implementation process, that excitement turned sour as we got no support and had to figure out how to navigate pitfalls ourselves.
Pros
Cin7 core initially attracted us because of the production module options and comprehensive inventory management features. We had some concerns about the tools being overly complicated for some of our needs but was assured by the sales rep that we would have an implementation specialist and customer support to help us through this process. This ended up not being the case and the sales rep made misleading or untrue statements in order to get us to subscribe and invest time into their system.
Cons
The customer service was nonexistent once we subscribed. We received support just up until the point where we paid for the system.

Customer care, purchasing and Point of Sale is useless
Frustrating to deal with your help desk people who tell you to log a feature request when they are done talking to you and can't solve your problem
Pros
Easy to understand and figure out when starting off.
Cons
Your point of sale system you offer with this software is less than useless its remedial in functionality and offering. Struggle to program in store promotions on it you can't create area specific promotions for outlets in an area. Your way of setting up a cash float is useless and not user friendly. Your journals between Xero and Cin7 do not push correctly. Till overs and shorts are a nightmare to investigate. Gift cards are cumbersome to use and implement. We were using We where using Lightspeed as a point of sale before and you c=guys can learn some lessons from them your system will be something from the stone age compared to Lightspped.

Using Cin7 Core for Order Management
I had one-on-one help onboarding and troubleshooting from Muskan Israni who was very patient, helpful, and knowledgeable about the software.
Pros
I like that I can integrate my sales channels (Etsy and Shopify - Amazon is an option too, but I opted not to integrate it to save money) and input manual orders in one place to keep track of orders, inventory, shipments, and payments. I used their previous product OrderHive, so it is all fairly intuitive to use, and they provided great onboarding and setup.
Cons
I wish it was more affordable for my small business like OrderHive was

Function is good, but the price will keep increasing.
I have been using their Cin7 omni for 7 Year, starting from $399 and increased to $799, but all the function is same and nothing changed. Then I gived up to change to a cheaper version Cin7 Core Standard plan, but I just started it one month, they already changed the function for standard plan, from unlimited warehouse location to one location only.
And force you to upgarde to a highter plan if you need more warehouse location.
But when the time I subscribated, it was unlimited warehouse, and they were downgarde you function without any notification.
It was really unfair, and their customer service team were ignord my require and don't give any reply to me. I have been contact them many time and their only reply is someone will contact you asap, but actually no one will contact you. They just ignore you because you only using the cheapest plan and service.
Pros
Cin7 has most of the function that required to run a small or large business.
Cons
They will keep increasing the plan every year and all the function and service was same, and some maybe downgraded if you don't upgraded you plan.

Pros

Terrible, Terrible Software for Small Businesses
I loathe this software. I sincerely wish we had never ever implemented. It is completely unfit for purpose for a small ecommerce business and should be not marketed as such. Unless you have staff to dedicate to this software, it's a complete waste of precious resources.

Avoid to save time and pain with poor support
Poor to say the least. They cant support their own product properly and fail on a number of levels to come back to you to solve your issue.
Pros
Integrations were very good - its easy to use but when more complex things are required you will run into major issues. Not for businesses that handle a large number of orders/products
Cons
Its not often that I take to Social media to complain but Cin7 Orderhive deserve a very special shout out for the lack of Support to their customers. They offer a 20x7 Support offering yet find themselves off for days and not responding (March 6th till 9th) there was no support whatsoever. No communication to advise that there will be no support, which in any case is shocking given that they are a global SaaS provider. Often they are off during their countries National Holidays (where they are based) and have zero contingency in place, so not a true 20x7 support. This is not the first time that we have had issues, senior Managers make promises, Dipan Gajjar but deliver no change. We have waited for 4 days to get a simple FTP integration resolved. After being off for 3 days they now fail to respond to our emails or messages surrounding other issues.Issues such as:- Stock values not updating correctly- FTP integration not functioning- Not responding for days- Support team lack of product knowledge (we have had to teach them what their platform can do!)- Raise tickets for issues but do not resolveThe impact this has on our business is detrimental and as we all know changing ERP platforms takes time and planning. So yes we will be moving, and given their impeccable track record I doubt they will take any action about our issues. However I hope post helps provide other potential users of this platform get a true and clear picture of how appalling their support is .

Bad experience with Cin7 Core
Pros
system is fine - works as it should......
Cons
Cin7's recent price hike is unacceptable. They've increased fees by $72 per month ($864 a year) while offering no tangible benefits for my business in return. They claim the increase is for platform improvements, but none of the so-called upgrades—like B2B modules, advanced WMS, or virtual agent support—are relevant to my needs. It's frustrating that I'm being forced to pay for features I don't use, and this isn't the first price increase since Cin7 took over. Despite these hikes, the service remains the same, just more expensive. This feels like a cash grab, with no regard for existing customers. Avoid if you value transparency and fairness.

Disappointment: Steer Clear of CIN7
Ever since CIN7 took over DEAR Systems, the shift in focus from quality service to maximizing profits has been blatantly obvious. The deterioration in service is both rapid and frustrating.
Pros
Their customer support exists, which is something. They do respond to inquiries, albeit not always in the most helpful manner.
If you’re looking for inventory management software and are okay with navigating a complex pricing structure, CIN7 might be worth considering. There are definitely options out there, but this is one of them.
Cons
Their pricing is chaotic, filled with charges for unnecessary features, and the account closure process is ridiculously cumbersome, demanding a 30-day notice. It's evident they’ve designed it this way to continue extracting money from their users.
Customer support is practically non-existent. They show no willingness to assist. In all honesty, this company and its software are a waste of your resources. There are much better alternatives available. Stay away at all costs.

Buggy software with lots of issues and poor customer support
We have used DEAR / Cin7 for 7 years now. Up until recently any bugs or issues that popped up would get resolved in a somewhat timely manner however now that has changed. They are focusing on rolling out new product features that are great for marketing while sacrificing having a system that actually just works.
Do not onboard your company onto this software, you will regret it, as it seems the company who acquired DEAR has no intention of fixing the buggy nature of DEAR and just wants to try and focus on selling more subscriptions.

The worst and most useless support you can get. Terrible Software
If I could leave less than one star I would. We have been using similar software for over 6 years, but Cin7 Core acquired the company and to everyone's surprise decided to stop supporting it and we were forced to move to Cin7 Core , uniting us that it offers the same functionalities as the old system. The onboarding process was OK, but even then, we noticed that Cin7 Core has much less functionality than the previous software we used [sensitive content hidden]The real problems came when we launched the system and started actually using the Cin7 Core.We have several channels through which we sell: our own sites and a marketplace, and all our orders are processed by a 3PL ( fulfilment center)
Pros
Тhere is nothing I like comparing it to the previous software we used
Cons
The worst thing about Cin7 Core is their support. Support is extremely slow and so far has not resolved any of the cases we have written to them about. The open cases so far are:- Cin7 Core does not send our orders to the fulfillment center and therefore the orders are not processed on time.- Cin7 Core does not submit accurate quantities to the marketplace we sell in- Cin7 Core is not properly syncing all the new listings we put on the marketplaceIn general, basic functionalities for which similar software is still used are not implemented, which means that users like us suffer lost benefits in the most important period of the year.

Administrator Feedback
Thank you for the very good software that is really helpful to everyone, keep updating its features and I suggest that can you also please update the support website. Please do more in integration side to be posted, the side effects if we have the wrong steps that may affect each software. I would like to apprecaite [sensitive content hidden] from her/his last support to me, I was really satisfied on her response, it's being clear and detailed and informative, I was successfully implemented my client's needs because of good support. I look forward to see that kind of support to improve your customer service.
Pros
It's inventory module that is really in detailed feature. It's not easy to integrate since you have to feed the data more detailed and informative especially in importing the products. Some companies are not complete in their product details. But it worth the patience, when it's successful, it will be more ease for the users/clients to use the whole system as well as they are trained and learned how to use it.
Cons
About the support in my previous months, I cannot get the satisfaction based on their answers, especially when I have a very technical and critical situation. They are not consistent on their solutions, hence, I was disappointed. The support is given 24 to 48 hours of response and yet there are times that their answer to my query is not kind of convincing for me to follow. I have this instance that their advise for me to do this and that lead me to almost danger situation of the system and to my client. So I want your support team to always discuss the DO's and DON'Ts and the effect of the situation of each query especially when it comes to technical side of integrations between other software like in Xero, most commonly cloud based integration.

Cons
Many issues are difficult when operating with DEAR/Cin7 Core. They do not allow you flexibility with the pricing. I purchased a annual subscription to save one month cost however, if you do so, if you need to add a POS for 1 month, you will have to purchase the entire annual year just to use it for one month. Himash was great
Some integrations such as Quickboks online transfer all vendors or purchases I've made to people and automatically populate them as suppliers in CIN7 Core. Similarly Avatax, once a transaction occurs, it automatically populates that specific location and it's tax rate in the drop down field, when I will always only need Tax lookup selected from the drop down. So both integrations have these messy autopopulations that don't have a simple fix to.

Customer Support on WMS Deployment and Set-Up
Pros
[sensitive content hidden] was very helpful with me on the support call and answered all of my questions and gave me walkthroughs.
Cons
Automatic printing i believe is essential, Would be very good to have this functionality. Also WMS Scanner i feel should have more control. An example would be that the scanners should have the ability to raise transfers to and from warehouses from scratch, no input from Cin7 core on the web browser.

An accountant's Point of View.
Inventory control and costs with real figures to add to the P&L. Inventory true numbers easily tracked and sales with all 5 different payments on Shopify easily tracked.
Pros
Easy to learn the different modules and to teach others how.
Cons
When you have to undo sales orders, it completely undoes everything. The sales order should hold the inventory already taken from the system. Sometimes it is impossible to redo because the inventory is no longer available.I also wish that additional costs would add to the per unit cost of inventory.

Daily user of Dear
Overall Dear is meeting our needs when connected to Xero. It meets our day to day inventory needs however would be much better if it was a more complete accounting & inventory package.
Pros
Dear was straight forward and reasonably easy to set up. It is good for our daily transaction, inventory management, and handles multiple warehouses and foreign currency well.
Cons
Features that could be improved are: visibility of stock on hand and sell price whilst in inventory, instead one has to either drill down on each stock item or go to reports. A general ledger section that has P & L, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, etc would also be more user friendly- instead of going to reports.
Alternatives Considered
Sage IntacctReasons for Choosing Cin7 Core
Changed from Evolution as wanted a simpler, more user friendly, cloud based package. Preferred Dear over Unleashed due to better GL for inventoryReasons for Switching to Cin7 Core
I could setup Dear myself, I was advised Intacct would require costly support to setup.- Industry: Wholesale

Worth the investment
We have 6 businesses with multiple ecommerce channels like Amazon, Woocommerce, offline sales and multiple warehouses. We use Dear as an ERP system to manage everything from placing orders to the factories to syncing shipments to various regions. The Dear 2 Dear function is very useful however there are a few things to improve on that side.It was easy to switch from our previous system and it made everyone's live easier by making us rely less on Excel spreadsheets and more on doing productive things for the business.
Pros
Ease of use and the onboarding process was straightforward for all our team. The support team is great and often manage to solve things through their live chat. In particular Duminda is always going the extra mile.
Cons
The reporting section has quite a few important gaps. There are several users that complained on the forum and asked for an update however nothing seems to be on the horizon. It's lacking a salesforce integration as well.

Great support for training and set up
My CIN 7 experience so far has been great, apart from that I couldn't get urgent support from the daily support team after the training project is closed. Being a new user, this is essential, as even I have been trained, to be able fully function, further support is needed in a timely manner.
Pros
[sensitive content hidden] has provided great helping through training sessions and initial set up of the system to make my job easier, she has gone above and beyond which makes me feel that Cin 7 Core is a system I can easily recommend to other people from this prospective.
Cons
0Customer support from CIN 7 Support Team (after system set up), the turnaround to get back to me and the response is not user friendly for new users, all new users would be experiencing a lot of questions and issue at the very beginning start using the system, and the problem I experience actually stop my office functioning, to book a call online for a few days in advance doesn't work to this situation at all.

Fair
Pros
Connectivity to several ecommerce platforms, reports, and extensive data stored per product
Cons
Under "All Products" - If I search for a product, and can see all the variants for that product, I cant see the SOH in our main warhouse instantly (like on other platforms like TrageGecko). I have to 1) click on the varant, 2) Open up the new tab, 3) navigate to "stock" where SOH appears, 4) repeat the last 3 steps for of the variants.....it would be much more user friendly if I could see all the SOH numbers for all the variants after I search for the product instead of having to open each variant individually, or go and pull a specific report. Either option is time consuming and laborious. ALSO, images for each product dont show thumbnails....so I cant see if the images are dated or not.

Good
Not enough experience yet with the system.
Pros
Overall good platform, but needs some basic improvement.
Cons
Purchase orders. They do not populate all products per vendor and does not populate 90 day usage of product on PO. This is vital for creating purchase orders.

Value for money. But in hindsight, it’s also much easier to use, updates are reliable and it just works. Plus the support is first class. It’s what I’d expect from a cloud based system.- Industry: Health, Wellness & Fitness

Good inventory management
I quite like Cin7, can be a bit complicated at times. I contacted the customer service chat long after I got home, with a query and [sensitive content hidden] was fast with a response and help. I’ll try the remedy when I get to work tomorrow 👍
Pros
That I can see where I’m up to from Order, Pick, Pack etc by the colour of the next step being yellow
Cons
That even to simply amend a lot no / serial number, everything gets undone right back from the Invoice and had to be redone.
