My experience with PayPal has been positive; It's a simple and quick way to send and receive money online, and both the website and mobile app have an intuitive user interface.

3 out of 5 stars overall
I started using square more and PayPal put a freeze on my business account asking for my taxes and other paper work which I have already provided once before and it was a pain. It is back up and running but just was a hindrance I was not prepared for.
Pros
Being able to use the virtual terminal to take credit card payments, links you can send in text messages to receive payments, QR scanning to ring up items as well as take a payment.
Cons
The captcha glitch is the worst, next is the lack of quality customer service, trying to accomplish adding money to your balance and 90% of the time there is an error. Business App should have more options to take payment.
Reasons for Switching to PayPal
I use both paypal and square depending on the context of the sale.- Industry: Wholesale

PayPal PayPal: Terrible Service and No Buyer Protection!
I trusted PayPal blindly because of their so-called “buyer protection,” but it turned out to be completely useless. I purchased an eGold membership with eWorldTrade, only to discover later that this company is full of negative reviews. According to the contract, I am entitled to a 90-day money-back guarantee if I am dissatisfied with their services. This period has not yet expired, and I decided to reverse the payment through PayPal because I refuse to support fraudulent practices.
Instead of assisting me, PayPal chose to call me three times a day, pressuring me, but looking into the negative reviews of eWorldTrade themselves? Apparently, that was too much effort. Despite providing clear evidence from the contract I submitted, PayPal sided with the fraudulent company. The result? I lost nearly 1000 euros and received zero support.
PayPal’s promise of “buyer protection” is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. They refuse to take responsibility and support fraudulent companies instead of their customers. NEVER AGAIN PAYPAL! Such a disappointing experience from a company that claims to be reliable.

Easy set up, little higher cost per trasaction
PayPal worked well for a time and was easy to implement. The biggest reason we moved on from PayPal is because of the higher cost per transaction compared to its competitors.
Pros
We could make customized invoices so our customers could pay online. We could also type in payments that we received over the phone.
Cons
Our cost of each transaction was higher than other products. It takes longer to receive our money than some other products.

PayPal Software Review.
Its a flexible payment options – customers can pay using their PayPal balance, credit card, debit card, or linked bank account. I like that a lot about it. and that it makes it easier for online marketers to do business without worrying about payments methods.
Pros
I like that its a global online product and the fast payments – I can receive payments instantly. No waiting for checks or long bank transfers. and I like that PayPal works in many countries and supports different currencies.
Lastly its easy to set up – I can add PayPal to my website or online store quickly without needing advanced tech skills.
Cons
Fees Can Be High – PayPal charges transaction fees, which can add up, especially for small businesses or frequent sales, and for holding funds up to 21 days on other transactions.

Secure and easy to use
Overall, I haven't had any trouble with PayPal in the 10+ years I've been using it, both as a customer and as a seller.
Pros
PayPal has gotten much easier to use over the last several years. The app actually works great and I've never had any issues with it. Sending and receiving money is easy, and being able to see all of your recent activity is great. Generating reports on the business side is also nice.
Cons

Protecting Scammers and Defrauding Customers
Paypal is definitely protecting scammers. I had two transactions recently that I sought a refund on. Both times the seller turned out to be a Chinese scammer. I submitted all the evidence to Paypal, including pre-existing reports to Scamwatch and police. They didn't even bother to read my complaint, let alone look at any of the attachments I sent. I pushed things further, providing more evidence not just of how I'd been scammed, but also how this particularl seller was operating dozens of fraudulent businesses in Australia. Paypal ignored that too. They've also refused reunds on faulty goods, goods that were nothing like what I ordered, and goods that never arrived. Paypal definitely don't protect the customer and actually make it deliberately hard to seek a refund. On top of that, they charge an extra 10c in every dollar on top of the current exchange rate from AUD to USD (and other currencies). That's not fees and charges which are additional, but them deciding what the exchange rate is and setting it 10c higher than the actual exchange rate, and then they prevent you from having the currency exchange handled by your bank or another institution. Paypal collects that extra money. So as well as not standing by their own, much-advertised customer protection policy, they actively support scammers and are themselves defrauding customers. Maybe it's time all the disgruntled customers got together and started a class action against Paypal?
Pros
Nothing. There is nothing to like about Paypal.
Cons
It does not protect customers (but it does protect scammers); customer service is non-existent; the account setup is hard to navigate; there is no buyer protection; Paypal is extorting money by setting its own exchange rates; the refund process is deliberately opaque to put people off making complaints; there is no way to seek restitutation from Paypal itself without engaging in a lengthy legal process.

Great payment provider, could do with more methods though
My overall experience with PayPal in the 10+ years I have used them has been good, as my main source of income is with PayPal where I can accept card payments and PayPal balance payments. I will continue to use them for as long as they remain one of the best payment merchants in the world.
Pros
I love that PayPal is very easy to implement and has a great amount of API features, scripts, and its own balance so you can import funds from elsewhere such as your bank or have money sent to you without the need for a bank, PayPal is widely accepted in multiple countries and is currently the most used payment method, especially for automation, on my whole website.
Cons
I wish PayPal would accept more payment methods such as Bitcoin, decrease their chargeback fee and allow more countries to use them. I hope their support can improve slightly as well as most of the time they do not understand my query or give an irrelevant solution.

One of the most intuitive online payment and invoicing solutions but can get expensive and...
I used PayPal for over 10 years, to receive international payments to a personal account, send money to friends and family, and, occasionally, pay for various tools and products.
This year, after registering a new business entity, I switched from my personal PayPal account to a business account. They locked the money in my account for 3 weeks, with no way out. I tried contacting support, sent them details of my old account, ID, screenshots, service contract, invoice, etc. all the details I could think of to show that I've been receiving money regularly for services already rendered from the same person/company for 10 years with 0 chargebacks or disputes, and even my boss offered to confirm all details and waive any rights to chargebacks but they refused to unlock my account and release my money earlier. I understand the need to protect buyers but their inflexibility is insane and extremely disappointing. After this experience, my boss/client and I decided to use wire transfers to settle payments and, since then, I've saved close to $300/month total from payment fees, currency exchange rates, and withdrawal fees. I'm now using the free version of Zoho for invoicing. I guess PayPal is faster than international wire transfer and easier to use for invoicing than other 3rd party tools but the $300 I'm saving every month make the switch well worth it. I also have colleagues who switched from PayPal to Revolut and they say they've saved money and are very happy with their decision.
Pros
I used PayPal for 10 years to send invoices and get paid for freelance work, send payments to friends/family, and shop online. It's the most intuitive platform I've used, very flexible and accessible to everyone.
Cons
Their rules are rigid, the overall costs are high, and the customer service was inflexible, unhelpful.

A decent payment processing solution with some drawbacks
I think overall PayPal is okay, but many of the issues I've had, had the potential to turn into a lot bigger issues. I would say it's probably no longer the best option for payment processing.
Pros
They have one of the shorter wait times for payouts/balance transfers compared to other platforms I've used. Many people are familiar with them and many companies/organizations still use them which often lends itself to an easier check out process. I like that it has pay later options for my clients.
Cons
Paypal was once one of the most trusted and secure payment processors, but there have been many points of failure over the years and I am not as confident about it as I once was. I have previously had some issues with fraudulent purchases made using my account. In my experience their customer service has not been the best often because of language barriers leading to my concerns not being understood/addressed. I don't like how difficult it is to change the settings so that non-PayPal users can make payments using PayPal. The buyer-protection is not great either, I purchased a product that was misrepresented in the photos and description and even when I couldn't get a hold of the company to go through with returning it, PayPal would not grant me a refund. The same thing happened when a company that was going out of business kept recurring charges going even though they were no longer providing me the service and hadn't for months, I sent PayPal all requested documentation and they didn't refund me or remedy the issue at all.

Paypal: Overall great with a small flaw
PayPal is super easy to use, with a clean, intuitive interface that makes navigating a breeze. A big plus is that you can send money to friends and family without any fees. Honestly, it doesn’t have many flaws, though the currency exchange rates for purchases in other currencies can be a bit steep. Overall, it’s a great platform for managing payments!
Pros
PayPal is super easy to use with a simple, intuitive interface. One of the best parts is that sending money to friends and family comes with no fees.
Cons
In my opinion, PayPal doesn’t have any major flaws. The only downside is that their currency exchange rates for purchases in different currencies can be a bit high. Other than that, it’s solid!

Simple solution for online payments and money transfers
Overall, PayPal offers a reliable and efficient experience for most digital financial needs, but the experience may vary depending on usage, especially when trading internationally or receiving large-value payments.
Pros
The security and ease of making purchases on e-commerce sites, transferring money to friends, family or other people quickly and safely, both within the country and internationally.
In addition to managing subscriptions and automatic payments for streaming services, software and other monthly or annual subscriptions.
Use the tool to make international transactions and convert currencies quickly and conveniently, with transparent rates.
Cons
Exchange rates and commissions charged for international transactions can be relatively high, which ends up being disadvantageous when sending or receiving money from other countries. Although it is a convenient platform, the fees charged on incoming payments, especially for freelancers or small businesses, can be significant and impact profits.
Another negative point is customer support, difficulties in resolving problems with PayPal due to slow or inefficient customer support.

PayPal review
My experience with PayPal has been mostly positive. It’s convenient for online shopping, sending money, and receiving payments. The user interface is simple, and transactions are generally fast and secure, which I appreciate. However, the high fees, especially with currency conversion or business transactions, can be a downside. Additionally, the occasional hold on funds can be frustrating when I need quick access to money. Despite these issues, PayPal remains a reliable option for online payments.
Pros
PayPal is very user friendly. I like how PayPal makes online payments so simple and secure. It’s convenient for both personal transactions and business, with the ability to link bank accounts or cards and pay without exposing financial information. The buyer protection is a nice safety net too, and it integrates with tons of websites and apps.
Cons
What I like least about PayPal is the high fees, especially when converting currencies or handling business transactions. It also holds funds sometimes for extended periods, which can be frustrating if you need quick access to your money.

Convenient and time-saving!
I enjoy the convenience and time-saving feature while checking out with online retailers, but I typically will use Venmo to send/receive money with friends and family - I used PayPal for that in the past. As long as my account stays secure, I will continue to use PayPal.
Pros
I absolutely love the option to checkout with online retailers by using PayPal. The convenience of not having to type in my credit card number is the best feature in my opinion.
Cons
A couple years ago, my PayPal account was hacked into. I received an email that an online virtual bakery was opened with my account. Terrified, I contacted PayPal and demanded they close my account. They refused and stated that the business that was registered to my account was deleted, and it would never happen again. Being that PayPal is connected to my bank and my credit card, I was mortified that security was not strong enough to keep someone from hacking into it.

Paypal Platform
My overall experience with PayPal is more frustrating to me then satisfied. Paypal does have many restrictions and verifications on their platform, which is good, but when you continuously get denied moving your own money it becomes very frustrating.
Pros
I like Paypal's platform the most. The mobile app is easy to get around, options to buy and sell Bitcoin, add multiple debit cards in one place, earn cash back and rewards from different merchants and several others options to choose from.
Cons
What I dislike the most about Paypal is their approach to keep your account verified, authenticated, and protected is so extreme, it enables you to access or move money in your account. Paypal will also put a hold on your account for months at a time if they assume you are selling an item on the platform, leaving you unable to access your money until the hold is lifted.

PayPal-It's Been a Long Great Trip
Since 2006, both PayPal and my business have gone through changes, and both of us have had good and bad changes. PayPal has changed for the good (so have I, but this is not about me) and sometimes it is a hassle to learn these changes but that is just part of the business.
Overall, like any long-term relationship, there are ups and downs; luckily for me, the downs are short, and the u[ps are long.
Pros
Reliability is at the top of the list. PayPal as been around as long as I've been doing business online.
Cons
Listing something of a Con with PayPal is difficult because everything I think of turns out to be 'operator error' and has little to do with PayPal itself. I am sure there are negative points to any system that holds onto your funds, but so far (since 2006), I have not encountered any. <knocks on wood>

Paypal's lack of transparency and efficient communication makes it a risky option as a...
Paypal places many barriers between the customer and vital information making my overall experience very frustrating. This is made even more inconvenient by the lack of online support making it difficult to reach the right people when a problem arises. Paypal has caused numerous disruptions in my financial well being due to these issues.
Pros
Paypal is widely accepted as a payment option for online transactions, making it a convenient payment option when shopping online.
Cons
Lack of account transparency such as the ability to view declined transactions. Additionally, the lack of easily accessible online support like many other payment providers offer as their digital experience. There does not seem to be any explanation as to why users are unable to view declined transactions and where the charge is coming from. This is extremely inconvenient and is potentially a security risk as monitoring all transactions towards any funding account is essential for monitoring unusual activity.

There is nothing better
Overall it is an excellent application or site to be able to manage your expenses and see your history. In fact, it is used to administer your expenses much more easily than on other services.
Pros
In truth, the only thing that bothers me is the slowness of 30% of their functionality or service and the difficulty of adding a bank card to the Paypal account.
Cons
What I like is the ease of use that Paypal offers and especially the fact that it offers lots of features that are just as useful as the others

A Great Payment Solution
I have trusted PayPal for over twenty years. It's been easy to use whether online or locally for my book signings or readings. What I like best, is that in all my years of using it, I have never had a problem with my account. I use it to sell products and services and for subscriptions. As a consumer, they have helped me receive a refund when dealing with scammers.
Pros
It's a safe and easy means of doing business concerning payments that has a low commission rate. Also it's easy to transfer money to my bank or use my PayPal debit card. I have used PayPal for over twenty years.
Cons
Currently, to use PayPal at it's highest level, one has to be a programmer or hire a programmer to create professional purchasing buttons and pages PayPal offers. However, users can just create the order buttons easily to place on their websites with HTML code.

PayPal Review by G.Njoroge
I send and receive small bunches of payments online.
Pros
Four years ago my account was limited and it had some balance which I received via F&F. Luckily, the only thing I like is that last year I created another account which is working fine, although I use Payoneer more than PP.
Cons
Limiting account without a notice was one of the downsides which I experienced on PP.

i really liked my paypal experience
As a user of PayPal for nearly eight years, I concluded that it maintains the security and confidentiality of user data, and there is no room for anyone to scamming the other, which increases the trust of customers, and I personally recommend it to everyone I know
Pros
What I like a most about PayPal is that it is easy to use and more than that our data is safe and protected
Cons
Frankly, so far I have not faced any problem, so there are no negatives that I have about PayPal

Reliable and convenient tool for handling both personal and business transactions
PayPal has been a reliable and convenient tool for handling both personal and business transactions. While the fees can add up in some cases, its security features and ease of use make it a top choice for online payments.
Pros
Convenience and extensive acceptance. PayPal allows me to make purchases, send money, and receive payments quickly, both domestically and internationally. Its buyer and seller protection policies offer a sense of security, especially for online transactions. The platform’s integration with various websites and apps is seamless, making it easy to use almost anywhere.
Cons
Fees associated with certain types of transactions, especially for currency conversion and receiving business payments. Additionally, the customer service experience can sometimes be slow or challenging to navigate if there are account or payment issues.

PayPal refuses to close my account
I have been a user for 13 yrs, but I want to close my account --- PayPal refuses to do this! I had a bad experience with a $754.00 charge from LinkedIn for 1 yr of Prime service, but I cancelled it within 28 days, and there was supposed to be no charge. LinkedIn billed me anyway, and when I put in a complaint to PayPal they told me I still had to pay them. I then appealed to PayPal, then they told me their protection from fraud in this case was not covered!! Whaat?? LinkedIn finally gave me a $754.00 credit, so my account has a ZERO balance, so I again asked to close my account ---- then they told me I couldn't because I had a Honey PayPal (I never applied for this, nor did I ever receive any rewards or points on this), so I contacted Honey and they cancelled this so-called account I had. PayPal still refused to close my account, even though I sent the details of the LinkedIn credit and the fact that they billed me in error. Now PayPal tells me they need to "verify" my identity. They already have my name, address, bank account number, e-mail. They are demanding I send them ID such as my Driver's license, Passport, credit card bill, Federal tax # (doesn't exist in Canada I told them), or they refuse to cancel my account. I told them they never asked for this when I opened my account, why do they need this to close my account -- no answer. I am not sending them any personal credit details, have they not heard of "identity fraud?" They have refused me to escalate to a Manager, refused me their e-mail address, mailing address, and I feel like I am being black-mailed. If they try t charge me non-use fees I will not pay them. I was forced to contact the Consumer Protection Agency in Canada to file a formal complaint against them. Moral of story --- DO NOT USE PAYPAL, find another way to pay for your goods!
Pros
PayPal used to have good customer service, but not anymore. They have subbed it out to the Philippines, and they don't care about you at all. Sometimes I can't even understand what they are saying.
Cons
I don't like their fees for non-use for 1 year. They charge you a penalty if you don't use your PayPal after 1 year. They also charge a lot for exchange on money currencies.

Pros
PayPal is a great site that allows me to receive money quickly and safely and provides me with protection when purchasing online. It also has the ability to link the account with the debit card.
Cons
One common criticism of PayPal is its fees, especially for certain transactions like international transfers or receiving payments for goods and services.
