Great Package

Pros

Projectworks is a package that brings together multiple things we wanted a job management platform to do, and presents it in a straightforward and easy to understand way.

Cons

There are a few missing features, but nothing that we weren't able to work around.

Great Project Management Software - Highly recommend

We are really happy with the software and what it can provide for the business. It has helped us make strategic decisions and assess where we may have gaps in the business.

Pros

How easy it is to use. Staff love it and are better able to manage their projects, quickly see when they are over budget etc. Timesheet entries are a breeze as are leave requests and approvals. Support is quick to respond and the Projectworks team have been great to work with.

Cons

Mileage expenses need some work but its coming. Missing the ability to set a billable cost rate to clients. This is really our only bug bear with the software.

Software by force

It's a time-sheet logging app from my perspective, nothing more.

Pros

I like the granularity choices of timesheet entries.

Cons

This app really needs some keyboard and low-vision improvements. Having to guess which element is in focus is problematic - focus rings around the selected control would be a massive improvement.

Easy to learn! Can't wait for more features!

I really enjoy using it, the UI is very easy to get used to. Excellent program/software to help with operational and project management. I am excited to see what other features are coming up!

Pros

Viewing the current and projected margins have been wonderful to see and being able to see the forecasted income really helps the business strategically think of next steps to further grow. The tech support has been amazing and are always quick to respond. When I make technical errors, they have always been able to amend them without any trouble. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has been excellent during the training process and I rarely contact support for queries as the software is quite intuitive.

Cons

I still find myself getting data from Projectwork and putting them on a spreadsheet to get more pieces of insight that would be good for the team to present. The integration with Xero has been good but at the beginning, with syncing them with the employees on Xero, we were having issues with the rate cards not accruing leave. Which created some issues with what employees were supposed to be accruing, etc.

Projectworks woks for me

Pros

When we found Projectworks I was immediately engaged. The Project Reporting & Metrics allow us to interrogate the system. There is a good library of reports to get you by, but Projectworks also has the capability to produce custom reports. Our PMO integrates Projectworks with Power BI to present a bit more detail in the dash boarding.

Integrating with Xero its good but I am not sure if we are utilising the full potential.

As our Software Engineering use Azure Dev Ops it will be good to see the integration, which is currently in a beta state, advance to generally available. Projectworks are advancing with new features all the time and communicate their product roadmap well. I look forward to more development

Cons

I have found the Custom Report feature complex, and would like to see it made simpler.

Projectworks is easy to use, beautifully configured and the service is fantastic

Very rewarding. I enjoy opening the product and working with it.

Pros

The product contains all the features we require and these are logically configured. Migration was a breeze.

Cons

The leave function could play better with payroll products. There are opportunities for Projectworks to play better with Xero.

Easy to use software that gives us much more visiblity.

Good experience, the support and development team are always very willing to suggest ways of doing things or developing new features to help us.

Pros

Simple to use, very intuitive, dashboard and system looks great. All our employees find it very simple to use and easy to find metrics at the click of a button. Everything is in realtime so we know it is also accurate. The support team and our account manager are great at providing solutions to our many queries.

Cons

Reporting could be better, I appreciate work has been done on this but still not that easy to use if you don't have very strong technical skills on a par with coding. HAs great metrics on screen but sometimes very hard to show this in a different format e.g to show to the management team without my laptop.

Many "wow this is powerful" moments....

Many "wow this is powerful" moments...this says a lot. The more we dug the more we found we could do. Having said that, with flexibility comes complexity, so you need to understand the interdependencies and ensure that you use filtering properly to get the results you need. this is not difficult, just something to be conscious of.

Pros

We are a rapidly growing organisation and were looking for something that would help us scale. We selected ProjectWorks after reviewing a few solutions with an initial focus on timesheets & Xero integration. This was achieved quickly and painlessly. We then shifted our focus to resource management and forecasting. As we explored ProjectWorks capabilities, we had many "wow this is powerful" moments. We now use ProjectWorks for timesheets, invoicing (integrated with Xero), resource management and forecasting. Like all things, there is a discipline involved to get the full benefit, but the insights and benefits you get are well worth it.

Cons

Expanded capabilities to deal with parent child projects - most of it is there as you can track separate budgets and time within a project, but resourcing cannot be tracked by budget yet....this is apparently coming in late 2023

Easy to use with regular updates from the Projectworks team

A lot of useful reporting is available and has proven beneficial for our future growth, how we manage our company financially, project budgets and staff. The resourcing facility and forecasting have been key features for me. The switch to Projectworks was seamless and the Support team are very quick to respond to enquiries.

Pros

Nice, simple user interface. Very easy for everyone to record time and leave. Implementation was well executed and the support team provide swift responses to enquiries. Lots of regular tweaks being made to the system.

Cons

The Help topics could do with an update as it's sometimes difficult to locate information. The ability to add a comment when rejecting peoples timesheets or leave would be handy along with the ability to track changes to project end dates.

ProjectWorks for Professional Services Software Businesses

ProjectWorks has provided significantly more visibility and granularity of reporting - giving everyone in the business better data on which to base their decisions. The transition to ProjectWorks was handled by the excellent team at ProjectWorks and the follow up support has been nothing short of superb

Pros

Capacity management is a strength of the ProjectWorks product, the visibility of how people are allocated and to what, as well as the ability to see in one glance utilisation and availability is superb and probably the most important tool for resource management in a PS business. Also for Delivery folk, the ability to manage to margin throughout the life of the project is awesome. Shared views of Forecast revenue in one place, provides a central truth of the upcoming pipeline of work.

Cons

Some of the processes to do things (for example : Delete a project that won't be going ahead ) are very manual and involve multiple steps which makes them clunky. Projectworks also only really has two levels or groupings - team and organisation - and it would be good to be able to group the reporting based on more granular slices (e..g tribe/squad/chapter/seniority/location) or a combination of them. I believe that filtering will be introduced on customer fields but for now some of these calc's we do by extracting data and manually manipulating it in sheets.

Great interface and range of features for professional services

As a professional services company, we needed a platform to book our people's time across multiple projects and time periods to effectively manage capacity and utilisation. It needed to integrate with Xero (for leave management and invoicing).

Very well tailored for needs of a professional services consultancy

I’ve been so impressed with the platform and the simple but effective balance it strikes in doing what a professional services company of our size/scale needs well. It's been a really easy transition and the continual product updates and responsiveness of the team are fantastic. Having used a variety of different systems in consultancies of different sizes and scales, this is hands down the most productive and effective platform I've ever used. It's intuitive, easy to use, and strikes the right balance between having practical well thought functions, without having too many distracting bells and whistles that can often make these platforms overly complex and hard to implement effectively across the whole team.

Pros

Project Works appears to be tailor-made for a professional services consultancy. Its interface and ease of use are the best I've seen. The rollout and integration with our existing business systems were about as seamless as you could hope for. I was so impressed with how quickly my team was able to use the system to full effect. We gradually introduced all features over a few months, starting with timesheets, invoicing, and then resourcing. This allowed the team to get to know features one by one and build confidence in its use. We are now using all functions and features and it's been transformational for our business. The project works team has also been amazing. They are really knowledgeable, available, and clearly willing to work with their clients to make the platform as good as it can be. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Cons

There is not much I don't like. There is such a continual development process for the platform, that new improvements and tweaks are happening regularly. Over time, it would be good to see more user optionality in reporting and the margin reporting feature could also be improved.

ProjectWorks - management tool

From the time we made the decision to switch to Projectworks we have had amazing support. The switch was seamless with the two systems we were using and the integration to Xero. It did take a few weeks to get all of the data over as our system is a bit complicated with different types of fees however the team managed to achieve this.
The information we can generate has proven beneficial for our future growth, how we manage our company financially and with the projects and staff. The resourcing facility and forecasting have been the key areas that have helped us.

Pros

I have been using ProjectWorks for just over 3 months and it is a really well thought out program. The information we can now generate has put us in good stead for our future with regards to resourcing and project management. We know if we can take on additional work, logistics for staff and leave and especially our financial future.

Cons

To be honest, the support that we have received from the ProjectWorks team has made the transition to this new system seamless.

From initial involvement through to rollout, [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has been great in demonstrating Projectworks capabilities and uses within our business. When we've encountered a problem, our response has been clear and issues resolved in an exceptionally fast time.

Pros

As we're in the early stages of deployment, it is difficult to provided a detailed breakdown of what we find most useful with this software. The initial demonstrations and development of the base product to suit our business needs has got me excited for full roll out and future use for our team.

Cons

Initial migration of data didn't transfer as seamlessly as expected, but the Projectworks team have work tirelessly to iron out any discrepancies.

Worth It!

We're so happy that we're using this software and we'd pick it again and again. We find new bits of software that we didn't notice before and it makes our jobs even easier. Would recommend 100%.

We love how easy it is to use, how easy it was to set up, how absolutely helpful Customer Service always is whenever we have any questions, how easy it is to track projects.

Great product to help you run your business

Pros

ProjectWorks allows me to get both a bird’s eye view of our business performance but also to drill into the details.
Key features I love are
- The ability to understand the gross margin performance of clients and projects. In our business a key metric is gross margin and this tool allows us to access this data quickly and simply.
- The ability to plan out a project and understand the delivery capacity in the business quickly
- The ability to look at the financial success of client engagements quickly

Cons

ProjectWorks have a regular update schedule and are continuing to deliver new features every month. One ask is to continue to develop and deliver deeper KPI reporting. Currently we do this via the API which is good but more reporting in the tool would be great.

Great workload management tool!

Great. Really enjoy using it. Is an easy UI and takes very little getting used too.

Pros

Easy, one stop shop to manage all your Project needs, such as resourcing, forecasting time sheeting, and invoicing.

Cons

Is very specifically designed for Projects. I work in the support space which is a different take on Resource etc management., We make it work with PW but perhaps a 'Support module' could be designed for this line of business?

Project Works Review

Very positive, its a joy to use

Pros

The design is simple and easy to use. The website is responsive so that I can use on my mobile. It provides with one site where I can manage my timesheet, leave, resourcing amongst other things.

Cons

I would like to have the total hours against a specific timecode displayed in my weekly timesheet so that I can ensure I am working inline with resourcing. Currently I add up myself.

Test analyst using project works for adding worked hours on multiple projects

Pretty good, found a few bugs in edge browser, but my understanding is this is not a supported browser.

Pros

I like how its easy to know what projects I'm resourced on, and for how long each week. Equally as much I like how it is easy to add my hours worked.

Cons

I feel it could be helpful to have a total of the time added as a project each week, rather than just a total of the combined projects

Fantastic tool to keep projects on track

Pros

ProjectWorks is incredibly helpful in tracking time spent amongst our team to identify projects that need attention. It has been easy to use for our entire team.

Cons

I have no complaints about the product so far. My only suggestion would be to add a desktop feature for a convenient time log. Everything else is fantastic.

Excellent overall product for time sheeting, projects and leave

Pros

Ease of adding time and comments into any time sheet field. Being able to see resourcing for what I need to be working on daily/weekly etc. Leave is simple and easy to be added in.

Cons

The only thing I can think of as a negative would be when submitting leave requests, the end date entry states 'First day back' which is a bit unusual compared to what I'm used to, but it's certainly not a major issue at all.

Easy to learn and use

Pros

Have been using the product for 3 months now and from beginning I haven't had any issues and confusions of functions. It's really easy to learn and use.

Cons

I would probably say the searching of timecode and be optimised a bit more? Once you got a lot of timecode to use, sometimes it is a bit confusing to find the right timecode to use.

You can be creative with Projectworks

[sensitive content hidden] and the team were on-call almost 24/7 when we went live. The speed of response from the helpdesk is borderline miraculous. Cannot commend them enough. If things don't work - they'll fix it and you can't ask for fairer than that.

Pros

Resourcing is simple. Timesheet entry is so user friendly we have a weekly 98% compliance. The Exec Dashboard showing utilisation rates gives us the best data at a glance which can be sliced and diced in multiple ways. The PW team was more than willing to take any of our suggestions for tweaks and amendments and implement them. Some people have asked for an App but the on-line version is just as easy to use on your phone.

Cons

For our business we've had to be creative in the way we use the system to suit our needs. It invariably requires workarounds. Lots of things in development stage still and we're happy to wait on those.

Great Solution

The application is easy to configure and use, very intuitive. Excellent experience with the whole Projectworks team, very professional outfit. The migration over to Projectworks was painless.

Pros

Easy to use and configure, on point with project creation, time tracking, invoice generation and the ability to integrate with Xero

Cons

Not having the ability to create billing rate cards that are based on a specific time period (e.g. billing rate for a calendar year), when changes rates there is a bit of manual work required to have this flow through the project correctly.

COST EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT IMPLEMENTATION: -Projectworks have catered for almost everything we need ‘out of the box’, with no need for additional costly customization.-Migration timeline from approving the tool, planning, design, implementation, training and post project Q&A’s and amendments was 6 months. Significantly less than other migrations I’ve seen.ACCURATE BILLING & PAYROLL-Projectworks allows 1 person employed by company A to work on a project in company B within the same instance of Projectworks. This allows effective and efficient billing to clients and hours for payroll – albeit 2 separate companies, 2 currencies/geographies etc.-Contractors being paid multiple rates for different projects are dealt within Projectworks.DEBTORS MANAGEMENT AND IMPROVED CASHFLOW-‘Out of the box’ integration from 1 instance of Projectworks with multiple instances of Xero has been a big win with the migration. Inexpensive alternative to the pricey, comlicated tools

Love Project works. Such a more intuitive tool and simple to use.

Pros

So easy to use. It's very logical. There are frequent releases with improvements.

Cons

It's great at resourcing and reporting. You will need a project management solution like MSProject to track project progress but Projectworks does the rest for you.

Amazing Platform - Easy to Implement and Use

Pros

Built for Software Development companies!

Having been an early customer, we feel like we've been able to contribute to the direction of the product. Implementation and support have been the best I've experienced in 25 years. Product has been reliable, flexible and done everything we needed. Love it!

Pros

It was like we'd built the platform for ourselves! Spoke the same language, worked logically and surfaced what is important.

Cons

Dashboards have been improving over time and will make this incredible when done. The open API though allows us to fill the gaps easily and quickly.

ProjectWorks - a One-Stop Shop

Our experience with Projectworks has been excellent. We received responsive, timely support throughout the migration period and the excellent support has continued as various requirements have arisen along the way.

Pros

Projectworks is a powerful project management system, and we are glad we decided to migrate to this platform. We previously used 2-3 different software platforms to achieve what we can now do using Projectworks alone. We are particularly impressed with the forecasting and resourcing features. The SQL back-end allows us to extract any type of report we need, which has proven to be incredibly useful.
The intuitive interface requiring minimal mouse clicks has made the transition super easy for our team.
It is exciting to see the regular updates released.

Cons

We required a variety of layout options for our client invoicing in Xero, and ProjectWorks have provided us with an excellent workaround. We are looking forward to having full Xero integration soon so we can benefit from the other integration features available when Xero talks directly to Projectworks.

Good for Project Management

Easy enough to log time and manage resources via the portal.

Pros

Easy to export burn reports and log time.

Cons

You can't set rules about editing timesheets and for example rules about logging time. Also can't link parent and child engagements for projects so you end up with just separate projects to bill against.

A rare personalised experience with an off-the-shelf package

Pros

1. The ongoing personalised support. This made the implementation process run very smoothly. Also, it has meant that any issues that arose after transition have been dealt with quickly and in-person (via video call).
2. The intuitiveness of Projectworks features. Very easy to use.
3. The openness to feedback and the resulting continuous improvement of the software.

Cons

As with any off-the-shelf software package, we have had to use some workarounds to make it do what we want it to do (and effectively customise it for our reporting needs). With time and with the responsiveness of Projectworks to feedback and suggestions, we hope that some of our workarounds will no longer be necessary.

Easy to use project cost and resource management system

Solving forecasting issues, project cost management and tracking of time for hourly rates charge of projects. Less barriers for staff to get involved in forecasting tracking their time accurately and "live"

Pros

Onboarding was well done, responsive support and customisation prior to go live. The interface is extremely intuitive and forecasting links well with invoicing to make the whole workflow easy. There's continuous updates which include new features or requests.

Cons

We miss the ability to present all staff against resourced projects on a one page report format. A standard report that is able to do produce this information would be amazing.

A simple but user friendly Project Management solution

This system has allowed our company to be accountable for the information we are holding for our jobs. It has required our managers to be accountable as their processes are linked to the accounting team. I have really enjoyed the relationship with your team so far.

Pros

Simple overlays and menus, The high level of accessibility for support whilst using the program has been fantastic

Cons

A more specific requirement for my own company is showing the in and out rate on the time entries screen.

Well designed and flexible project management platform

Project manager efficiency is improved which reduces admin overhead. Users typically don't require much training and can pick up and use the platform quickly.

Projectworks for SMEs

Excellent engagement by the Projectworks team, always happy to help with explaining best usage (using the experience of other customers) creating custom reports and holding teleconferences at times which suit the customer (even with up to 13 hours time difference).

Pros

Excellent visuals from a team that knows what businesses need. It is easy to use and easy tio undertsand at all levels from a basic user to the Finance and Managing directors. Integration with Xero was a factor in our initial trawl for software and Projectworks was streets ahead of its competitors.

Cons

A countdown of staff leave allowances would be usefulo but that is a very minor issue.

So far so good!

I enjoy using it so far. It's early days, but I find it a robust and satisfying platform.

Pros

I enjoy using Projectworks because of its layout. I find I intuitively know where to find items, but I also think/highly appreciate the onboarding that Projectworks provides for its clients. Tracking time can be nerve-racking and a mistake can permeate through an organization. However, I feel Projectwork has many buffers to avoid or at least have the ability to rectify mistakes earlier rather than later.

Cons

I would really like to update the time without deleting the entire entry.

Well structured projects management tool system

Forecasting is made easy, helps us to see how many free resourcing we have to take on new jobs and grow the company. This makes it easy for everyone to keep busy and keep them working.

Pros

By no means I am a worthy candidate to review this app, but it's been a very straightforward process with timesheets and managing your time. Finding projects is easy, and adding your time to them is easy. What would be beneficial is if we could see the section in each project that we add our time to. Resourcing tab is also very cool - helps us to predict forecasting with jobs well in advance.

Cons

If you made a mistake in the timesheet tab, its a matter of going a little back and forth with it, wished it was less cumbersome to do it, but it's easy nevertheless once you get the hang of it

Projectworks makes Projects Work

Projectworks is by far the best timesheeting software I've used across every company I've worked at - but it is so much more than that. I know the other business areas within my company have their own needs that are met with Projectworks, and having it all rolled into one solutions makes life easier for everyone.

Pros

As a user of the software I like the way everything is hooked up for me. I have a limited view of the budget which allows me to know if a project overrunning its budgets. All of the project planning, timesheeting and leave requirements I have are easily met with this product.

Cons

Although there are many useful options and features, it isn't immediately clear what is available. There is a setting that I now find immensely useful, but for the first few months using this product I'd originally had the setting disabled, not knowing of its existence.

Great system

Packed full of features that really help save time. I like the look and feel of the product too.

Pros

I like being able to see my teams resourcing in one place, being able to jump between screens with useful links so I can view a particular team members leave, time etc or update resourcing.
The home screen is also really useful as I can see what I have and when my team members have leave. The alerts drop I also frequently use for leave requests and feedback. The leave screens for my team help with planning.
I also use the reporting pages for time recorded and resourced vs worked for my team.
The details recorded for my team members also helps with filling in forms etc.
Accessing from anywhere with internet is also useful.
Filtering and searches helpful also.

Cons

Cant use without internet (I don't think). Would be good to be able to have a offline mode that syncs back.
Copying time entries for the working week or multiple days at once would be useful.
Resourcing for many weeks used to be an issue but I think resolved now. E.g. loading internal time for my team which doesn't change.

Great Software & Support

Fantastic - they go above and beyond for their customers and the software has had a big impact on our business.

Pros

Implementation was extremely easy and our staff find it easy to use. They also offer fantastic customer support services

Not all reports can be exported, I have been told they will be changing this

Great Product!

We are saving so much time for the head of our PMO by having myself (PMO coordinator) and the project managers able to add resourcing to our projects and invoice. This is a huge time saving for us!

Pros

We love the resourcing functionality in Projectworks. It is so easy to use and engaging. The project management team keep this updated on a regular basis and it makes our lives so much easier. The invoicing is also great.

Cons

We are looking forward to when Projectworks develops purchase orders/planned expenses against projects, and develops invoices showing hours x rates. These are on the roadmap and will be great when they arrive!

Great tool with an abundance of features

Keeps track of project time extremely well.

Pros

Easy to see at a glance what you have worked on during the day/week/month, and able to drill down to individual projects. Good range of functionality on hand to apply for leave, expenses and reporting.

Cons

Would be nice to have the option of a different color scheme or text size

Great project management tool, great experience!

Overall as a Project Manager, my experience has been positive and Projectworks has allowed me to find the information I need to monitor & control my projects and manage stakeholders' expectations.

Pros

My experience with Projectworks has been positive since day one. Projectworks is not only a great project management solution with powerful features, but the collaboration with the Projectworks support team also has been awesome. Since the roll-out, we have managed to customise the tool to fit our business needs and I am sure there is more to come.

Cons

In Projectworks you can create a schedule using the timecodes you have created, which every project manager loves :) An added bonus would be if the resourcing and schedule functionality would be linked to limit any double handling.

Recently Projectworks released an integration that allows team members to record time in Projectworks through Azure DevOps work items. We have requested the integration to deduct the recorded time from the 'remaining time' in Azure DevOps so in the future we can improve our Sprint performance and time recording efficiency for the team.

Pros

Cons

Awesome PM Tool!

Loved how I could track the budget and resourcing in a project. This is one of the hardest thing for a PM to manage and ProjectWorks makes it so simple and easy.
