> Many delivery organizations have Agile, hybrid, or otherwise structured teams in place, but still struggle to see across them. Progress gets reported piecemeal, in silos, so leaders have only a partial, anecdotal view of what teams are actually working on. Demand regularly outpaces capacity because constraints and dependencies aren't visible until they cause a delay. And even where Agile metrics exist, they rarely connect delivery work back to strategic outcomes, so teams can sense something is failing without being able to point to where.

Planview AgilePlace is kanban-based work management software that addresses these problems directly, at both the team and cross-team level. It turns tasks, steps, and handoffs into visual boards and cards, so anyone can see what's in progress, what's blocked, and where work actually stands, replacing the anecdotal status updates that make delivery timelines hard to forecast.

Boards are fully configurable and support Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, waterfall, and hybrid delivery equally, so teams model the process they already use instead of adopting a new one. WIP limits address the overcommitment problem directly, restricting how much work a lane or person can take on at once, which reduces context switching and makes delivery projections more realistic. Blocked-status flags surface impediments immediately rather than after they've caused a delay, and priority levels, card types with color coding, tags, and custom icons give teams the filtering and reporting depth to spot patterns instead of hearing about them secondhand.

AgilePlace scales from a single team's board to cross-team and portfolio-level views, so dependencies stay visible as work moves across groups instead of surfacing only once they've caused a bottleneck. OKR integration connects delivery work to broader objectives and key results, closing the gap between engineering metrics and business outcomes that leaves teams unable to explain why performance gains aren't showing up where it matters.

Combined with Planview Hub's integration layer, AgilePlace sits above mixed toolchains, connecting teams using Jira, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and other tools side by side without requiring the organization to standardize on a single system first.

Adoption is designed to be incremental rather than disruptive. Because boards configure to a team's existing process rather than requiring a methodology change, organizations typically start with the team or teams where visibility gaps are most costly, then expand from there rather than rolling out a single, all-at-once implementation. AgilePlace is best suited for organizations with delivery teams already in place that need better cross-team visibility, delivery predictability, and consistency at scale, rather than organizations that haven't yet established a structured delivery process.

## Reviews

### "A complete project management solution built with an agile approach\!" — 4.0/5

> **Zuber** | *27 March 2022* | Information Technology & Services | Recommendation rating: 8.0/10
>
> **Pros**: The agile project planning feature, which is built around kanban, data-analytics, and smart visual management is the most striking feature in this application. The information architecture around tasks, backlog, color coding, drag and drop of cards makes this application a must have for agile planning.
>
> **Cons**: The application is not intuitive and it takes time for a new user to get acquainted. Reporting feature with actionable insights can be more detailed oriented to make this application a robust one. There should also be an option to control the scrolling as a lot tasks can crowd the board.
>
> I have been using this application as kanban board for agile planning and task creation. The story creation and the relation with individual tasks makes the project management more fluidic and easy to understand. I like its approach with the drag and drop with color coding and make it smart to understand the nuance of the business.

### "Flexible lean project management tool" — 4.0/5

> **David** | *7 February 2018* | Entertainment | Recommendation rating: 7.0/10
>
> **Pros**: This is a nice relatively lightweight application that is easily configurable. Teams can quickly setup their own boards as they want and share them with other teams to view. The interface is simple and intuitive with a good level of configuration. Leankit delivers on the simplicity and ease of use.
>
> **Cons**: At the time of using it, it was not easy to share work across multiple boards. The option at the time was to create a master board and create dependencies from there. That only worked if you planned for that at the beginning. However, if you were to decide later that you wanted to do this, it was much more difficult to retrospectively build that hierarchy. It also stripped new lines from descriptions, while there are workarounds with tags, it was frustrating that have wrapping automatically.
>
> It was fast, flexible and offered team independence. While the company ultimately moved to a more feature rich tool that better served our needs, I would say that leankit is a great solution and should certainly be in your short list.

### "It's a Project Tracking Tool | Not the Best, Not the Worst" — 3.0/5

> **Thomas** | *6 April 2020* | Marketing & Advertising | Recommendation rating: 5.0/10
>
> **Pros**: I really like the way Leankit visualizes tasks as 'cards', so you can see blocks that you and your co-workers are working on at any given time. It can be a little visually overwhelming at first, but there are filtering options that you can turn on to only show you cards that you're attached to, or make other peoples' cards transparent so you get a more at-a-glance view of your tasks for the day/week etc.
>
> **Cons**: It's fairly bare bones. On top of this, if you've only got one lane for projects being worked on and people put enough cards in there that the time surpasses the allotment, a notification comes up asking you to enter a reason that you're going over the time limit. You can enter whatever you want into the dialogue box making this basically superfluous. I wouldn't have as much of an issue with this if the lane showed you were over the time limit without the annoying popup.
>
> Overall, my experience with LeanKit is fine. It's a project management tool and productivity tracker and each of those have their benefits and drawbacks. I don't find LeanKit to really be better or worse than any other one that I've used and it is valuable to be able to see the work that your coworkers have on their plates so you're not asking them to do something when they've already got enough on their plate.

### "Good All-Around Project Board" — 5.0/5

> **Verified Reviewer** | *3 December 2019* | Computer Software | Recommendation rating: 8.0/10
>
> **Pros**: LeanKit is a simple, intuitive way to create and track tasks for KANBAN. I've used others and I'm fairly happy with LeanKit. Integrates with SSO (Okta) and is very nice.
Very easy to use. Link to other systems (ticketing systems, etc). Very good visual representation and good for collaboration.
>
> **Cons**: None that I can think of. Other than difficulty deleting cards that you fat-finger, you need an admin to remove them. Just use it and get used to not having to delete cards for correction.
>
> We use it to project and plan several projects and tasks. It's connected to Okta and Okta groups. Everyone here uses it, so that's nice to have one tool across the organization.

### "LeanKit for large teams" — 4.0/5

> **Verified Reviewer** | *28 August 2020* | Computer Software | Recommendation rating: 3.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Easy to use and setup boards. If you use kanban for your development seems to be a good tool
>
> **Cons**: No tools to manage backlog for large product over several version. Planning capability for SAFe is poor.
