About Divi

Divi is a cloud-based website building solution, which helps businesses of all sizes design WordPress websites using visual editing and drag-and-drop capabilities. Best theme ever

9/10 in most cases it’s been great and it’s made my business easier to grow.

Pros

Consistent and easier to understand than Elementor.

Cons

Many customers already used Elementor so it was challenging at times to build their site.

For me the best choice ...

I use Divi for about 5 years, so the evolution of Divi was and is amazing.

Pros

We mostly use figma or xd to develop the UX/UI design of the website an its very easy to implement the design in Divi. The broad range of modules/functions etc. makes it very easy, the new included AI helps sometimes for creating content. With the VIP support all problems (mostly caused by me or my team 😅) are solved within minutes.

Cons

It' s like every software – there's always that little fear, when updates are released ...

The worst page builder for 2023 standards

Is slow, and full of bloated code, you can't customize the blog post 100% without modifying the PHP or, buying a third-party plugin which is also full of bugs and conflicts. I had some conflicts also with divi builder and Yoast Seo. I just don't understand how people review it positively. In 2023 and with solutions like Elementor Pro (which is also bloated and full of bugs, but is not gonna give you that headache) or Oxygen I think this is not acceptable quality.

Pros

The only thing wich is good for is the design library with ready-to-go landing page.

Cons

Bug, poor speed, bad caching system, is not fully 100% customizable (Blog module especially),

Nothing but greatness from Divi

They have supported me for years with their platform. Making it possible for me to learn how to build websites, and to start my own business. One of the most valuable tools I have ever used.

Pros

The massive scale of options and functionalities, and the amazing customer support.

Cons

There isn't anything that I don't like about Divi. There are some small points of improvement, but they are always developing, fine-tuning, and take customer experiences in consideration.

Pros

Additionally, there is an extensive group of 3rd party developers offering solutions and training for all aspects of the software easily accessible online.

Cons

Elegant Theme's DIVI (Extra Theme) is full featured, easy to use, priced well, and is well...

Truly fantastic to the point where I wrote management at Elegant Themes to thank them for how they structure support, and how it's allows me to quickly put together a site that meets my organizational needs.

Pros

The WordPress DIVI (Extra) theme allows me to take advantage of WordPress's innate ability to display categorized content in a much more sophisticated manner - like any major newspaper we read online. I find DIVI (Extra) relatively easy to use, but what really makes the difference is their excellent customer support. Staff at Elegant Themes are super helpful and enabled me to get a solid website up and running far quicker than I could have done by myself. There is a huge psychological benefit for me to know that I can reach out to DIVI staff when I need to and get a response in a timely manner. Sometimes it's a matter of minutes. Very occasionally (when they're really busy) I get an email a few hours later. It does not matter, however. in that they always are able to provide a solution that keeps me moving forward at goodhumanhabitat.org.

Cons

DIVI is so feature rich and has everything I need. There's really nothing that jumps out at me regarding things I like least. In a few cases, I'm surprised I need custom CSS to solve a problem, but it's no big deal because there is always knowledgeable staff available to help.

Reasons for Choosing Divi

I moved from Squarespace to the WordPress DIVI (Extra) theme so that I could take advantage of WordPress's innate ability to display categorized content in a much more sophisticated manner - like any major newspaper we read online.

Switched From

Squarespace

Reasons for Switching to Divi

I initially chose DIVI - or more specifically the "Extra" WordPress theme because it provides me with precisely the functionality that I needed to create a newspaper website that allows me to display categorized content in a myriad of pretty sophisticated ways. In the end my choices were between Elementor and DIVI. Two things really made the decision easy. The first is that DIVI offers a lifetime license. The second thing is that DIVI is reputed to have far better customer service. When I made an inquiry with DIVI, I got a real person on the chat, and got all my questions answered. When I went to the Elementor site, I got a chatbot that did not quickly provide me with the information I needed. That immediately made my decision easier.

I'm never leaving divi. Try it.

I first purchased divi to try on one site I was redesigning as a pro bono job for a friend, not really expecting much other than maybe a slightly more flexible template that what I'd used in the past. MAN was I wrong. I have since moved all of the sites I maintain (or create) to divi and haven't looked back.

Pros

Honestly, it's just so easy to use and not limiting. You can use it simply with a premade template, or go crazy customizing and have most everything you'd need available. Additionally, if you get too far away from your actual abilities the customer support team is absolutely fantastic.

Cons

This is totally nit-picky, but occasionally I'll come across some customizations that require some out of the box thinking to accomplish but should be something offered as a feature.

Elegant Themes: Divi

Our workflow has definitely improved since employing the Divi theme. All our users are now on the same Elegant Themed layouts which has and is proving to be very positive. Support teams we must also state are ecelelnt and always respond very quickly, if not instantly in our experience. To be perfectly honest, moving onto Divi was the best decision we have made, won't be moving away from the theme or company.

Pros

Ease of use, flexibility, json feature, variety of relevant plugins, value for money, and the support is second to none in our experiences with the teams, first class and the Divi builder is very user friendly and have to say as an aside... visually pleasing!

Cons

Elegant Themes are constantly improving it's services and products, which is much appreciated in order to improve and keep up with - if not ahead of technical developments and trends - which is important.

Best website builder ever!

I have been using Divi since it was created and I can see how much bigger it became. Sky is your limit! And it is a perfect tool for someone without IT background. As a designer I find it super user friendly and stable (in a way that I had no serious issues with it ever!). I have build probably more than 500 websites on it and would change it.

Pros

The product (Divi) is absolutely fantastic and you can build whatever you wish with it, even if you don't have IT background. They have amazing support, each time I need their help - they know all the answers and are super quick and professional.

Cons

Nothing! Really there is nothing I would change about Divi, my background is design and it is a great tool for people like me. I don't need anything other that what I have. At some point it was growing too fast and I got overwhelmed but as soon as I was able to catch up - it was all fine. And the support team was always there for me! Okay, I don't like presets... I feel like I am loosing a bit of control over what I do, but I get that they save time.

Some Divi features are lacking or are absent, but support reps like [sensitive content hidden]...

I purchased a life-time membership/subscription years ago. I've been 'thrashing about' forever, intending to seriously launch my website; Divi is my only Theme. It's so versatile and so capable, but there are some glaring holes in its capabilities.

Pros

What I like MOST about Divi is the SUPPORT REPRESENTATIVES. So many of them are really top-quality. Case in point:
Today I sought assistance from Divi Support Engineer [sensitive content hidden] in creating a button that copies the current post's URL to the clipboard. That makes it quick and easy for a visitor to share the post by pasting the URL link into an email, a browser or whatever.
I've been trying to implement this simple feature for YEARS(!) but have never found online instructions.
The Divi HELP Instructions provided by the Divi Help BOT were terrible! Useless. I'm very thankful that [sensitive content hidden] rescued me from that mess. He quickly understood my goal and provided excellent, concise instructions for EXACTLY how to accomplish it. Complete with the CODE necessary to make it work. Perfect!
Many times in the past I have had the great benefit of [sensitive content hidden]'s OUTSTANDING technical know how. Today's encounter was tremendously helpful, but is just the most recent example. Whatever you're paying [sensitive content hidden], PAY HIM MORE! =D
I offered to tip him $10 for his efforts, but that's not possible (unfortunately).

Cons

I like Divi a lot, but I have been frustrated for years by ET's focus on fancy new features, while neglecting so many basic features that either need improvement, or don't exist at all. For example, the 'Copy URL' button referenced in the section above. That's a VERY important feature and a very SIMPLE feature, yet it is not a standard Divi feature.
Very frustrating...

Everything starts with Divi.

Perhaps not easy to use "out of the box" per se, but very easy indeed to get started with the support of an experienced "Getting Started" in-person and/or online service provider who encourages DIY development.

Pros

Cost competitiveness; Awesomely efficient support technology and people. (Well, the screenspace of the support chat could be increased for use with 4K displays, but who's counting :) )

Cons

Almost nothing (I had to jump over a version release once, but that wasn't a big deal)

Alternatives Considered

Reasons for Choosing Divi

The current version (v21.4) is getting tiered -- it hasn't been updated in 3 years. But even before that there was no comparison with the growing plethora of easier to use tools. Even further back (mid 1990s++), I edited html files in a text editor(e.g. vi). Funny how it seemed cool a the time. Nevertheless, I still use Dreamweaver for content "under the hood" (not public) of some sites. The best of all worlds.

Reasons for Switching to Divi

Primarily because I prefer to "own" all my data, maintain local copies and backups, and restrict server side content location to our preferred service provider (currently VentraIP); and be able to relocate without hassles if and when required.

Customization Powerhouse with a few Performance Hiccups

Overall Divi is a good site builder we use Elementor as well and they each have advantages and disadvantages. The main thing is using the system the clients find easier to keep up with.

Pros

Some negatives of Divi include performance issues on larger websites, using shortcodes makes theme switching difficult, and plugin conflicts and issues with mobile responsiveness are high on the list.

Cons

What we appreciate about Divi is most clients say it is easy to use, can be customized without code, and has pre-made layouts and plugins. Works for both beginners and experienced users.

Divi has never disappointed me! It works and cuts down my time to build websites with premade templates and community layouts etc. They also have a market place where they sell themes, plugins and layouts etc. I purchased a lifetime license and it has been serving me well over the years.

Pros

I was so smitten by Divi's marketing campaign when they launched initially. The campaign was simple but the energy and what they were presenting was so cool at that time. It is simple to use, optimizes SEO, Wireframe view and visual editor is well organised, the out of the box templates are great starting point and the new AI feature that is recently added does a okay job but it is getting better I must say!

Cons

While they do their best, Divi adds more load to the websites with libraries, extensions and modules etc. The recent one has cut down on a lot of unnecessary stuff, but it still adds a lot of things that might not be necessary.

Divi review - Amazing product, even better support

Love it, I have used elementor and gutenberg and Divi supersedes them by far. It is easy to use, but very powerful. It may seem simple but that is the great thing, you have the power of complete control all within a user friendly interface. The only page builder you should use. [sensitive content hidden] also recently helped me on support, she made my life simple and handled it better than any other support service out there. No long wait times or useless links to documents that won't even help you. Support makes using it and learning how to use it to its full potential effortless. I have never been unhappy with divi.

Pros

The versatility of the product allows you to make anything you can imagine. Integrated perfectly with all the proper plugins. Support is incredible, never waited too long, very friendly and very efficient

Cons

None - but not all plugins support it, but I think that is a negative aspect of the plugins

Takeaways after years of working with divi

Overall, the Pros clearly outweigh the cons. The customer support is the most outstanding thing about divi. Their live-chat support is available 24/7, and mostly you get an answer within a few minutes for all problems you might face when creating websites for yourself or your clients. You still need to buy one AIO plugin on top of your divi license if you want to get the most out of it. My recommendation would be to pick either Divi Pixel or Divi Toolbox (not sponsored, btw^^ there are other great alternatives too). Again, keep in mind that these are one-time purchases and also have a lifetime license attached to it.

Pros

- outstanding customer support
- Divi marketplace allowing for all plugins you can ask for
- Divi cloud making saving your templates / images / sections and re-using them on other websites a very smooth process
- Divi builder has lifetime licenses, saving lots of money

Cons

- The Divi builder can, on rare occasions, get very slow to use. This can happen if you are working on big websites. A workaround if that happens is to create new sections on an empty page, save the section after it is finished, and then import it to the existing page.

Hands down the best drag and drop website theme out there

We have absolutely loved it. We used to use Elementor, which isn't bad, but Divi is noticeably better.

Pros

The drag and drop is very user friendly, their tutorials are perfect, the support has been great though we have almost never needed it. They regular update the theme and provide a huge library of templates for those who might need them.

Cons

Honestly, there isn't anything about Divi that I can complain about. The only downside is that it can sometimes become so large that plugins might occasionally conflict with it but they remedy it quickly every time.

good builder

Divi is like that best friend who is always there for me when i tearing my hair trying to create the web site of my dreams.

Pros

super easy to use! I, with no previous experience in web design, have been able to build a perfect site, will all functionality, using divi.
Also, support is freaking awesome! and, documentation comes in video and text format, which I love.

Cons

nothing, really. I mean, there was a learning curve. A bit hard to grasp in the beginning, but its a pretty complex builder so understandable.

Good but not good enough

I used Dive for a couple of years when I became a client of a hosting company that included Divi (paid version) in their hosting plans. So I recommended it to clients too. At the beginning everything was straight forward eventually I found myself struggling with some customization issues and also with some common bugs on the simplest things (video embedded from YouTube didn't play) And support never gave a clear answer on something so basic. Also sites were a bit heavy to load, speaking to devs they suggested that using Element or would be better and in fact I never switched back.

Pros

It offers a wide range of options to build websites from a visual drag and drop editor. Also the UX is very visually pleasing

Cons

It might have limitations in terms of flexibility and performances.

Beautiful themes for your website

Pros

It's really easy to create content using blocks and sections reorganize pages on your website and I like the visual builder as well.

Cons

It's pretty complicated to get started if you have no background in web design, understanding how to create buttons and changing different aspects of the page. However, it is very intuitive. So once you get into it and use it for a little bit, you start to understand how the software works

Gaining profits with Divi is the most fantastic experience ever to me.

Pros

As someone with limited coding knowledge, using a website-building platform was a game-changer for me. It offered templates, drag-and-drop tools, and customization options, allowing me to create my own website effortlessly. With this platform, I was able to establish my online presence, showcase my work, and reach a wider audience without the hassle or expense of hiring a professional web developer. It's been an invaluable tool for my business growth."

The Best Support

I love Divi! I have used other website builders before and Divi is just so much better!

Pros

I love how much I can customize and really make it my own and the fact that I get THE BEST support when I need help figuring out what I am doing.

Cons

I wish there was a better way to space paragraphs. If I want a space down like I do when I input the text, I have to create a whole new text box. The space down doesn't show outside of the settings box.

A great web builder for designers.

Overall, Divi allows me to create well designed websites which I wouldn't be able to do otherwise. I'm not a coder, I'm a designer, and Divi allows me to design without writing code.

Pros

Divi allows me to create beautiful web sites with minimal coding (almost none). It has a lot of flexibility. And when I get stuck, there is a very quick and knowledgeable support team that responds quickly and can show me what needs to be done to achieve my design/function goal.

Cons

There are times when something in the software malfunctions or "gets stuck". I Google it, and usually find the solution. 2. When working on the front end, the window I see during the editing isn't always what you get when you exit the builder. This is especially true when working on mobile. Looks great on the screen in the mobile window, but when I see it on an actual phone, it's not correct. I admit that it seems to be better in recent months.
