So Glad We Found This Telephony Solution!
While telephony is imperative to our operation, we don't have the volume that makes our VoIP.MS cost even a significant fraction of what other providers were charging for similar services. LOVE IT.
Pros
VoIp.MS provides us security, effective, reliable communications at the lowest cost of any of the options we've tried before. It has been very gratifying to see that even when the system was maliciously attacked, VoIP.MS responded quickly, professionally and effectively. I can't praise this service highly enough.
Cons
As a non-techie responsible for purchasing and setting up the system, it was intimidating to start. I needed an experienced tech to hold my hand, but I would urge anyone concerned about cost-effective business communications to read the wiki and tutorial helps and give it a try.

Fantastic Support
Its the best support experience I have ever had with a carrier
Pros
Support is really really responsive and top notch. Even when I had a complicated issue with a specific international number they were able to re-route traffic to make it work within minutes. Other carriers this would have taken days and days.
Cons
Some of the calling rates to europe are not great.

Stuck in Limbo: A Frustrating Encounter with VoIP.ms
My recent attempt to switch to VoIP.ms has left me feeling utterly exasperated and trapped in a cycle of frustration. Here's a rundown of the my obstacle I encountered:
Porting Woes: After eagerly signing up for VoIP.ms, I found myself stuck in an activation limbo for 4mos. Despite following all the prescribed steps, providing the information asked , if they only looked at ALL my attached documentation. they would find their answer. Nope they just cancelled the request and mark ticket resolved. This went from Dec 2023 when I started this initiative and ended mid Mar 2024 when I decided enough. I cancelled the account and will stick with my current VOIP provider Ubiquiti
Pros
Cost was the driver in the decision making process
Cons
the annoyance of them closing support tickets after they respond and mark them as "Resolved". They instruct you to open another one, then another one and so on...
Response from VoIP.ms

Best service for the money. They had a Ddos attack but they kept customers informed.
Overall, I would use them again if given the opportunity.
Pros
Great customer service. Chat and phone available when needed. Always able to resolve situations quickly, even if it's difficult to our specific solution.
Cons
It's very setup-driven. You need to know exactly how you want your system set up. I don't know of another way to make it simpler but setup is somewhat tedious.

Good value, reliable service
Typically our experience has been good, despite a few minor hiccups. In al, the service provides good value.
Pros

Excellent full-featured VoIP service for people with technical experience.
Great overall experience. There is one customer service agent who is ALWAYS unfriendly and often gives conflicting information - but you'll rarely have to use customer service. There is decent billing and call logging. The most important thing to me is call quality. I use their value routing level and it works great.I've recommended it to several people I know -- all but 1 continue to use it to this day (the 1 person found it too hard to get technically in place)
Pros
I started using this service because it was cheap. Overtime I've fallen in love with the flexibility of the system, especially the flexible rules for routing and IVR. As an added bonus, I've essentially stopped all junk phone calls with a mixture of a call routing rule and an IVR.You can basically do anything with the service.
Cons
This is not a service for your grandma to setup - you will want technical experience. They do have a pretty extensive documentation database, but you still need to put in the work.

Great value for the money!
This is a very cost-effective service that I have recommended to many people. It's simple enough to use that I have even recommended the service to several friends who are not computer knowledgable.
Pros
Having the option to retain an existing phone number was very important. The fact that VOIP.MS ported the number as part of their initial service was a bonus. Call quality is excellent, with no lag or echo, or fading! Having multiple servers in several major cities allows VOIP.MS to distribute the network traffic and maintain system stability. The customer web portal is intuitive and easy to use, so managing your account is relatively easy. Setting up new a ATA device, for a home consumer, is easy with the How-To instructions provided in the HELP section.
Cons
The most difficult part of the service is the initial setup - i.e. creating your account. No where does it mention that you must add a minimum dollar amount to your account - $15.00 US, I think. Make this requirement known early in the process so people don't become frustrated when they think all the steps have been completed, but they can't add their device and/or activate the service.

Excellent value and features
I created a phone system for a non-profit that has a configured IVR menu. The non-profit wouldn't have this benefit if not for affordability of voip.ms's service.
Pros
I use the IVR for both my business phone and a client line. The IVR helps me filter robotic spam from my personal phone as well as provide a phone menu for a client that would be many times more expensive to purchase from a traditional phone provider.
Cons
Setting rates for being a reseller is confusing, the reseller can set rates based on fractions of a penny or by percentage. I don't quite understand how the math works.

VoIP.ms is a great VoIP provider for DIY tech enthusiasts or small businesses looking to save...
I've been a VoIP.ms customer for over a decade. Overall, I'm very happy. They experienced stability issues for a period and I ended up switching to a competitor, but came back to VoIP.ms once their reliability issues were ironed out because of their amazing features and low cost.
Pros
VoIP.ms is quite inexpensive compared to traditional phone providers. All "cloud PBX" features are available at no additional charge, and reliability has been very good as of late.
Cons
Bit of a learning curve if you're not familiar with VoIP or SIP. No automatic failover if your server experiences an outage. SMS/MMS still has occasional issues.

VOIP.ms has a been a very good solution for us
Pros
We like that we have a phone solution that offers many features for very little money - it's a great value. We're able to screen our calls and then block spam/phishing callers, of which it seems there are a lot these days. The voice quality of the calls is extremely good.
Cons

Great service!
It has been great! Very stable and lots of community support for the occaisional time I've had an issue.
Pros
The price is very reasonable and there's a lot of features included in the base price (I don't use most of them, but I wish I could).
Cons
For VoIP.ms I wish their accounting was more detailed. And there was Canadian pricing so my costs didn't fluctuate with exchange rate. Not specifically VoIP.ms but VoIP in general isn't a consumer solution so it's really frustrating that Android phones support it half-heartedly and the SMS integration isn't 100%.

What A Great Service VoIP.ms Provides
My home phone service is the best I have ever had, with so many features included, and more still that are available for a small fee.
Pros
While the setup may seem complicated, VoIP.ms provides excellent documentation and help to get things started. I have helped family members, friends, and work colleagues to onboard to VOIP.ms, and they are ALL still using the service. I have not come across any comparable service, nor anything that compares in price. For me, it’s a no-brainer; VOIP.ms is hands-down the best!
Cons
It requires a reliable internet connection…if you don’t have that, it may not be a good experience. My parents complained a lot, but once they switched ISP’s, they have had no problems.

Pros

Cons

Solid, reliable servfice
Pros
I previously ran Asterisk PBX locally, with a variety of VoIP trunk providers. Worked great, until it didn't. VoIP.ms was a near drop-in replacement for hosting things locally, I was able to port nearly all numbers (and a couple numbers that couldn't be ported are handled using VoIP's SIP address based routing, giving me the same call routing capabilities). It was everything I needed.
Cons
There is a learning curve to the interface, and the terminology is not always a 1:1 with Asterisk, or my own past telco experience. Nonetheless, once I found my way around the interface, it all makes sense and works great!

Solid VoIP provider with great features at reasonable prices.
VoIP.ms has been one of those services that we set up many years ago and except for minor tweaks to how it is configured to adapt to changing business processes on our end has been entirely a set it and forget it type of service. It just works day-in and day-out.
Pros
Setup was quick and easy with instructions provided for most VoIP gateways, with many trunking locations to ensure low latency and jitter free connections. Number porting and call routing is intuitive and quickly performed.Pricing is very competitive and has significantly reduced our costs.
Cons
The interface site is dated and not up to modern UI standards. This is a minor gripe as the functionality is all there, and can be easily found which far outweighs “pretty UI’s” that lack functionality.

All that we need for our consumer/home/mobile needs
Glitches aside, we're very happy with VoIP.msPlease note that in some countries (e.g. Egypt) VoIP services will be blocked so one needs to have an alternative telephony solution while traveling in some parts of the world.
Pros
I love that VoIP.ms allows me to manage the service myself. From installing my own voip gateway to configuration, I can set it up as I wish. The API is a big deal as well as it enabled us to write a SMS/MMS interface application that meets our specific needs. We use VoIP.ms as our main home phone line, and on two mobile devices as our only telephony application. We do not subscribe to any traditional cellular phone services and save a ton of money.
Cons
The SMS/MMS service can not receive messages from certain providers/numbers. This can make it impossible to receive 2-factor authentication from some services (for example, some banks will simply not send a SMS message to a VoIP number).Call quality is sometimes wanting. In general voice calls still route better over traditional cellular voice lines and handoff between cells is seamless whereas when using VoIP on a data connection, it seems that data does get interrupted resulting in a choppy or dropped call on occasion.

Very Good service
been with them over 10 years, and its been overall pretty good- it is glitchy at times and a bit more hands on than say Twilio- where I have not had any issues with connectivity.
Pros
Easy to set up IVREasy to buy DiDsGood pricing on new Dids and month to month feesHappy with them but I do have pretty low volume calls with them and the numbers I have with them are not "mission critical" -support can be outstanding to sub marginal, depending on who you get. -have made many improvements over the last year-pricing where voip should be for a small business. -has TLS encryption where most voip providers don't
Cons
-texting (SMS/MMS) could be better setup and out of beta, as it is 2023 already, come on guys really. -they should really have a app they made that can manage and that users can call and text with. -slow to roll out improvements-could have better higher quality codecs-could have STUN servers to use. -a multi week DoS that they handled very badly couple yrs ago-still not 100% about the back-end of the company- would not use for a business doing over a $1m in -revenue a yr unless you had a backup provider. -not innovative like Twilio, you are not going to find any integration with AWS and polly or advanced things like this.

Years of great service ane great pricing
Great! Support is excellent, cost is very reasonable. Reliable. Lots and lots of features and possibilities.
Pros
Quite easy to set up and use, especially considering how many features are available. Excellent pricing.
Cons
Prefer not to require a fax number to send a fax via the web portal. I liked this feature more when it didn't require a monthly cost for a fax number. Would love to be able to block a number by simply dialing a star code after the call is received and then be able to further manage those blocks via the web panel. Would love to have voicemail transcription to email if not already available. Maybe make VOIP.ms branded hardware available, as well as a soft phone app.

Amazing service, for some of the best prices in the industry
A great service, a great support team, and loads of features with great compatibility, all for an unbeatable price! Some knowledge and skills required, but still less complicated to set up and use than many competitors.
Pros
VoIP.ms has some of the best prices in the industry! The customer service is stellar, and agents are always polite and try their best to be helpful. In times of low volume, I've had replies to my tickets within a couple of minutes. They have loads of features and functionalities, and also provide an API to interact with their services. The service is compatible with several VoIP devices, soft phones, as well as ATA devices. There are tutorials and a wiki on their website, and I've found knowledgeable users on 3rd party websites who are willing to help or give advice.

Pros

Cons

Reliable products, service and company
Our overall experience with VOIP has been very good or we would not have stayed with them so long. We originally started using voice over internet about 20 years ago and so far have used 3 different companies. VOIP.MS has been consistent and offered the most value for the money.
Pros
We have been customers of VOIP for over 10 years and beside a DNS attack that occurred to them once the service is stable and reliable. I like that you can pay for what you need and the rates are very fair. They offer so many different products that anyone can find the right combination to suit their particular needs. We love the flexibility of how calls can be handled, whether it's just a simple forward or sending them to voice mail. We also love the sms/mms features making any line excellent for web confirmations.
Cons
The only thing that I feel is unfair is the cost of adding 911 capability to a line.

Very happy with VoIP.ms. Would highly recommend them.
Overall, I would highly recommend VoIP.ms to anyone looking for a reliable and affordable VoIP provider. I have been using them as the primary VoIP provider for my business and several of my clients' businesses for over 10 years. I have been very impressed with the reliability of their service, as well as the speed, knowledge, and professionalism of their customer support. The few times that I have had to contact customer support, I have always received responsive, helpful, efficient, and courteous assistance -- even outside of business hours or on weekends. My clients are in a variety of industries and range in size from SoHo to mid-sized businesses to large multinationals. With both flat rate and pay-as-you-go plans, VoIP.ms's pricing flexibility and low rates allow me to find a plan that fits each situation's particular needs.

Easy to configure, administer and use; also very low cost for so many great features
I used to run a home brew phone system that I configured using ATAs, UNIX servers, and assorted POTS phones. Now with voip.ms I leave 95% up to them and it all just works. I have extended the functionality to include my own DB-driven anti-telemarketer blocking system by adding in my own custom configured Asterisk instance running under FreeBSD and it was pretty easy to configure a SIP trunk in voip.ms to accommodate this.
Pros
Voip.ms has provided me with a way to operate a complete SOHO phone system in my home without the headaches of maintaining a full PBX there too. I connect multi-line VoIP phones over WiFi for the ultimate flexibility. I have access to large enterprise features for pennies, and I can integrate my own specialized features by attaching an Asterisk PBX running at home on a mini-PC.
Cons
There's very little I can find fault with. I've been having intermittent issues with BLFs on the VoIP phones but this could be almost anyone's fault, possibly the VoIP phones themselves. Voip.ms support has done their best to assist me in debugging the problems as they pop up now and then. But really BLFs are not super critical anyway, just a nice-to-have, so I'm not concerned.

Excellent VoIP services at a great low price.
I would definitely recommend VoIP.ms to anyone look for affordable and reliable VoIP/phone service for their business or family.
Pros
I signed up for voip.ms because of the very low cost of the services. I use the service with my own Cisco ATA device, and it was easy to set up with the help of the documentation that is available from voip.ms. I had also reached out to voip.ms for assistance in the past and they were very responsive and helpful. The quality of my calls with voip.ms are excellent, and I am always kept advised of any downtime due to network maintenance, which does not occur frequently.
Cons
In the past voip.ms was subjet to a Denial Of Service attack which affected service for a short period of time, however voip.ms did a great job of communicating with customers to advise them of the status of the service. There have been occasional outages due to maintenance, but these are always scheduled for early morning hours when I do not use the service.

VOIP.ms for home & cell phone
I use it as my home phone provider. It's inexpensive compared to normal home phone service, and the overseas long distance rates are very competitive. My husband calls overseas a lot because his family all lives in Europe (we live in North America) so it saves us a ton.
Pros
There are so many options for setting up your lines exactly as you want them. I am not an expert in telephony by any means, but their help desk was able to assist me in setting up my phone system quickly. They also have an excellent wiki with lots of helpful setup info.
Cons
You can buy a data-only cellphone plan for cheap and use a VOIP phone app to use VOIP.ms as your phone. That's awesome, but I found that the service as a cell was somewhat unreliable and the voice quality was spotty. Still, I kept my VOIP.ms cellphone number for use when I'm abroad as a wifi calling solution.

A great VoIP and IVR system for small businesses and helps you to look like a big business
Extremely valuable tool for our business.
Pros
At the start it took some understanding on how to configure the system, however, once you built your first IVR you'll never forget how to do it again. It just works, and it's been very reliable for my business.
Cons
I don't like how their billing system works. I have to keep feeding flat dollar amounts into their system (this is done automatically) instead of getting just one bill at the end of the billing cycle. This causes headaches for accounting.

Customer for 10+ years
I have used VOIP.ms for over 10 years, first implementing it when VOIP was in its infancy. It's been a reliable and cost-effective tool, relative to old legacy systems that were expensive and lacked features.
Pros
The most value I get is the ability to administer the backend fairly easily to manipulate the changes according to business flow. I utilize the call forwarding and call hunt feature daily. We use a main DID number for the business that serves as the hub, where calls are routed accordingly. We use physical ATAs and softphones in the environment.
Cons
Softphones and best practices for implementing cost-effective mobile VOIP apps remain a challenge.

VOIP.MS Pros and Cons
Overall satisfied, but improvements needed such as being able to pay in CDN funds.
Pros
I like that it is self-administered with Pay-as-you-go feature. I also like that voicemail messages are emailed as an attachment.
Cons
There should be option to pay bill in CDN funds rather than just in USD funds to avoid paying unnecessary foreign exchange fees and poor rates on currency fluctuations. Also, there should be an option to pay exact amount desired rather than just in increments (i.e. $5, $10, $100, etc). If a customer wants to pay say $22.43 exactly because say he/she has a credit balance on his/her credit card for that amount and he/she wants to deplete those exact funds, he/she should be allowed to do so. That is also why being allowed to pay specifically in CDN funds is so critical.

VoIP.MS my trusted telephonic provider for over a decade
Service has been great for many many years, customer service has always been responsive, price is fair and service, reliable. This is my trusted VOIP provider
Pros
Customer service is very responsive, the quality of the call routing, and the reliability of the system has always been great. There’s a lot of feature and flexibility available for configuration. There was a denial of service cyber attack a few years back, but I think the team responded in the most appropriate way given the circumstances. Their services have been flawless before and after.
Cons
Voip.MS is a service for businesses and the residential power user. Not not intended for the common end-user, so knowing that there really isn’t an issue with the services provided.

Great service provider for no-frills Internet telephony
Pros
VoIP.ms offers rock solid connectivity using industry standard SIP protocols. There's not a lot differentiating them from the crowd, but sometimes that's exactly what you want. I've used them as a backing provider for softphones and various physical IP phones—they were a breeze to set up and offered plenty of routing and IVR options.
Cons
SMS support is a relatively recent addition and still doesn't work as well as I'd like. Third parties often have trouble sending SMS to VoIP.ms, or sometimes they outright block the use of VoIP services for SMS. This is particularly a problem for two-factor auth and other automated messages.

VOIP.MS is inidispensable
The more I use it, the more I like it.
Pros
My phone is available anywhere in the world, wherever I have an Internet connection,
Cons
The voice mail speech to text to e-mail breaks short messages into several e-mails.

You can do alot with a little!
voip.ms solves many different problems with their feature set, I'm a happy long-term customer who has used many of the features of voip.ms over the years.
Pros
I've been using voip.ms for at least a decade - in the early days I used the DISA feature + Bell's Fab 5 (remember that? When you got to talk to 5 people nationwide?) to call anywhere voip.ms reaches without any charges from Bell.Today I use it for:- Work - I have a USA DID for our US customers (I was using toll free at one point but it was too much)- Home - ObiHai 202 allows a POTS phone- Home - ring groups dial my POTS phone, Android device, and virtual SIP clients- Call recording (although most SIP clients have this built in for free)
Cons
The Android apps available are of high quality, but an official app would be neat!Nothing really.

Life saver and best among so many options
Overall I’m having a great time with VOIP.MS. this is the service that will remain on my list of necessities.
Pros
I’ve been using VOIP.MS for years since grad from school to found my business. There are many features that I won’t find a competitive alternative. I like how flexible I can manage my bills for different numbers and hosting sites. The text message feature is also a life saver that saves me from making a lot of phone calls. It’s stable, reliable and accountable.
Cons
Setup is a little bit complicated before you can start using it. Lack of a good mobile app is a pain. Once you setup everything, its amazing to watch the ball rolling but the setup requires some reading and efforts, and possibly some chats with customer service.

Highly recommended
Pros
We got ourselves setup with voip.ms with only a little effort, and it has ticked along with no problems for the last three years, saving us $50 a month over POTS.
Cons
If I had to pick anything, it is that tweaking configuration to handle different mailboxes, or routing, was a bit fussy, but we ended up not using it. Very minor to the base use-case.

My overall experience with Voip.ms over the past 10 years has been very positive. I will continue to be a Voip.ms customer as long as you keep your prices reasonably low and maintain reliability and security.
