Pack it in the box
I do struggle with being able to find documents, but when I know where to go, it is always easy to access.
Pros
Box helps my larger scale university job easily collaborate and keep things in one space. I am able to access old documents, and easily reformat to update to my current needs.
Cons
For whatever reason, I have difficulty being able to easily find documents with the way that my specific organization has folders set up. I have not used it in other jobs, so I am not sure if this is a universal issue.

Easy to Naviagate, Easy to Share
I am very happy with the functionality, and how easy it out to create custom access and share links. The search feature also works well when you are looking for specific documents.
Pros
I like how easy it is to customize and share files with specific parties. I like how customizable the layouts and folders are.
Cons
I wish there was real time editing inside the tab you are viewing, same as Teams, Dropbox or Google Drive. I have oft had to teach people that they need to open the view only file in the "online" version and edit there.

Pros
The security of the tool has to be the best feature about Box. Having the safety of knowing only people allowed to view documents was vital.

A Solid Cloud Storage Solution for Collaboration
Box has indeed been a dependable cloud storage service for our team, right from easy file sharing to secure collaboration and a high level of integration with other tools. It is for this reason that despite pricing concerns, security, scalability, and ease of use make it an excellent choice for businesses that really need storage and collaboration.
Pros
Box excels in providing robust cloud storage and file-sharing to enable collaboration among teams with much ease. Its ease of use, combined with good integration into popular productivity tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft Office 365, and Slack, makes it highly effective for business. Advanced security features of Box include encryption and granular access control, particularly helpful when it comes to dealing with sensitive documents.
Cons
While Box has great functionality, the pricing for Box can be quite steep with its structure for small businesses, particularly if you have to scale up or require additional storage. There are also slight complaints from users that the mobile application needs to be a little more intuitive and responsive.

Good Free Version but expensive Business options
Storing documents in the cloud as a back-up solution, sharing documents with collaborators and clients.
Pros
Uploads and downloads are fast, sharing files or folders is easy, as an editor or viewer, and it is easy to use.
Cons
The Business options are expensive for small businesses since they require you to purchase multiple licenses, not only one. If you get the Individual license you are not GDPR compliant, thus it turns out to be expensive for SMEs.

Better than the rest
Came for the file storage. Staying for the wide array of features to edit, collaborate, protect, and organize my work.
Pros
Besides being a file sharing and storage software, it excels where other software does not even come close. I like the features to edit docs and files. The integration with google workspace, adobe, and microsoft office make this so essential. The security features are also not something I realized I valued until I started using box. I just feel like my files and my data are taken care of when I use this service.
Cons
There is no beating around the bush here: box is expensive. But also... lots of storage services are these days. The free version does not get you very far. I think it's the same space Google Drive gives you, but again, the features within box cannot be found elsewhere.

The older the berry, the sweeter the features!
Using Zapier workflow automation, we were able to mimic a google workspace type experience for our project management needs which we chose box because of a 20+ year relationship and its robust list of available integration options thanks to its multi-decade cultivating of relationships unmatched by any of their competitors.
Pros
Their Cloud infrastructure is one of the original online storage spaces, which i have used since 2001 to keep my songwriting files secure. My favorite unique advantage that box has is its file versioning. As a songwriter it can be challenging saving updated lyrics though still utilizing autosave to avoid unintended deletion. File versioning combines the two and organizes all versions, with an easy selectbox convenient for final drafting.
Cons
Their workspace is pretty generic, which can be more seamless as a one-stop project management superapp, which is made possible by zapier

Way better than Google Drive and Dropbox
Amazing. Just wish I’d found them earlier and not wasted time with Googles incredibly buggy Drive product and Dropbox’s ridiculously priced product.
Pros
Before trying Box.com I tried both market leaders...
Google Drive was cheap but horrendously buggy, when you’re logged into multiple gmail accounts it gets horribly confused and won’t let you access/edit/download your own files. I found workarounds for this like using an Incognito window or Firefox to access my files but it felt clunky and buggy.
Dropbox didn’t have any of those issues, it was perfect but for a business plan for multiple staff members they charge crazy prices. Way too expensive.
Box.com had none of the issues of Google drive, all of the functionality of Dropbox and charged a very reasonable price for it. Best of both worlds and in my opinion they should be the market leader.
Cons
Nothing. Literally have zero issues with it. After using their competitors box.com is a breath of fresh air in every sense.

Box
All in all, Box has proven substantially beneficial for the university and for faculty to access materials of a general nature in a more efficient way and though I have not seen the actual numbers myself, I suspect that offloading all of the staff time and energy that went into maintaining and training people to monitored those previous on-campus servers was a price efficient move as well. Equally important in a time of fiscal belt-tightening.
Pros
My university decided to replace its archaic system of various collective departmental, college, and institution drives and servers with Box. It is a thousand times easier to access from a variety of locations, at almost any time, using almost any communicative medium you wish to employ. In the 21st century the modern mobile educational facility and educator lives and dies on the capacity to not just amass data and research and information but also to retrieve and manipulate it at remote locales in a secure, rapid way.
Cons
The biggest challenge is that Box has, like many modern softwares, engineered a number of plug ins. I have found that the reliability and functionality of these varies. for example, the general BoxSync application works perfectly but then there is a Box application for Windows 8 and another for Windows 10 which are "store apps" which are not as good at syncing and it is possible you might have both kinds of applications on your machine and that is rather confusing for the user since they have different interfaces and the syncing between them is not as transparent as one might expect. There is a page of these plugins and their descriptions overlap substantially and so it's not always clear which application you should employ in conjunction with your general Box.

allows me to easily access all the files I need to be productive on the go
Box has really helped us to keep up our productivity. My team originally only used Box for file storage purposes, but remote working forced by the pandemic gave us a unique opportunity to further explore all the different ways we could apply Box; and boy, have we been blown away. From facilitating team collaboration seamlessly to keeping detailed audit trails of file access, Box has been a devine tool to have in these times.
Pros
Of all the amazing features Box offers, real time synchronization has been one of the most critical ones that have allowed me and my team to maintain optimal productivity during this forced period of remote work. Ease of file sharing, and access control management come in as close second favorite benefits of Box.
Cons
We usually have to open files of interest to confirm they are the right ones. And with images or other forms of visual files, where proper file naming is typically not observed, a preview panel might come in handy

Does what you need, straightforward and robust.
Box was utilized for my first 2/3 years with this current company. The company as a whole made the transition from Box to OneDrive for Business. As a front end user, I did not see any issues with Box and think it was a great solution, but I believe the company as a whole transitioned to overall integrate more of Microsoft's Office 365 for simplicity and consistency.
Pros

I use Box for department and personal document storage through manual uploads, emails, and...
With this product, I can securely save and store my documents. They can be accessed from anywhere. I can share them with colleagues and setup folders with access for multiple users.
Through our reporting software, I can easily email documents to Box folders to be uploaded.
Pros
I like the versatility for uploading and downloading files. Files can be uploaded by dragging them into the folder in a web browser. You can also allow them to be uploaded through email. When this is activated, a unique email address is created. Any attachments in emails sent to that address are uploaded to that folder. We use our reporting software to send reports to these folders. Within this folder, uniquely named documents can replace existing ones or be added in addition to the original.
Files can also be uploaded through synced folders. I use this to store all of my work documents. Any file in this folder is synced with the online folder.
The Box files can easily be accessed from any web browser or through the mobile app. Ours is placed behind our firewall. With the mobile app, you can also create offline versions of documents for easy access without internet access.
Downloading can be completed easily though the app or online. Individual files can be downloaded one at a time or en mass as a zip file.
Cons
I am pretty happy with this product. The only thing that I would prefer is the ability to download multiple files at once as separate files instead of being downloaded as a zip file.

Box - Pros and Cons
Our company chose this product to provide a cloud based solution for it's content and storage of project specific content. I'm sure there are other products that work just as well but this one works just fine. I was not involved in the product selection process but the personnel responsible did a great job in evaluating this product.
Pros
Box provides many of the features our company needed and was looking for. The ability to access our files remotely was very important. File and folder read/write permissions was also important. Everything that comes with storing files on the cloud (security, backups, etc.) was also a must. The search feature works great for locating content. I'm sure the large amount of storage space available was another important factor in deciding to go with Box. With multiple offices, setting up a corporate account was very helpful along with all the benefits that comes with it. I was not involved in the implementation/integration of this product but I'm sure it was seamless.
Cons
The freedom to create folders with a name that one desires is great. However, sometimes the naming of the folders just do not make sense. I don't know if this is possible and not sure how it would be implemented, but if there was a way to display a message at the file naming window to name the folder so that it makes sense and is relevant to the project that would be great. I've seen folders named "Documents". This is not helpful if you are searching for a specific project.

Box- A Business Solution For Storing & Retrieving Important Documents
Box has been a great solution in my workplace for storing and retrieving important business related documents. As a contract analyst, I would frequently use the software to download stored regulatory documents and check to see if there were recent changes to the terms in our existing contracts. Being an energy business we service both electric & gas customers in multiple different states. Because of Box, it was easy to check on the status of these contracts on both a commodity and state level. If all this information was on a stored system drive instead, we would be bogging down the system because of all the storage usage. Since Box stores these documents on their secured server, it alleviates the need to use precious resources that can be utilized elsewhere by providing you with the additional storage space. Overall, I am very happy with Box and have no complaints about the software as it fully met my needs whenever I had to use it.
Pros
Box offers a centralized hub that allows users to effectively and efficiently sort through important documents for your organization. The ability to create separate folders makes it easy to organize documents on a departmental or functional basis. Sub-folders can also be created to further sort documents into the existing folder. Downloading a stored document is simple and seamless, allowing users across the organization to have quick and easy access to important files. Uploading a new file is just as simple, and only involves browsing through your files to attach it and adding a few descriptors. The software is password locked, meaning it is a secure option for those looking to protect sensitive business information. There are also features that indicate the version history of a document, so you can make others aware of important changes if a document needs to be edited or updated. Additionally, there are permissions which will allow you to customize who can view and access certain documents.
Cons
The only complaint I have about the software would be that I wasn't able to view previous versions of updated documents. Sometimes I would need to compare previous versions of contracts and I'd find these missing when the document was updated. However, I'm unsure if this was due to the software itself or a configuration set by someone else inside my organization.

Great Product / Slightly Too Pricey for Individuals
Overall, I like Box. Better than Dropbox....maybe even better than pCloud as their UI is a bit dated and odd?...
Pros
It does offer 10GB of storage for free versus Dropbox only offering 2GB for free.
Cons
The only next option is the 100GB plan and it's $10 a month whereas Google One offer the same 100GB plan for only $1.99 a month. Now, I realize the better security and privacy potentially offered with Box versus a "big brother" such as Google is what could warrant an increased price. However, I'm not sure it needs to increase that much. Plus, it's confusing how they have an indicudual pro plan for $10 a month and 100GB and then a starter business plan with the same storage for $5 a month. I don't understand that and I think things should be more clear and make more sense.
Also, I'm having issues with Box Sync not working on my laptop. It just won't sync anymore other than the initial sync. I didn't feel like messing with it or dealing with customer service so I just uninstalled it from my laptop.

Well, I'm using Box in conjunction with Google and pCloud. I'm still trying to decide for sure which of the two (Box or pCloud) I will permanently use to transfer ALL of my data (pics and files) away from Google Drive and Google One onto one of these two platforms. pCloud does offer a huge storage option for a very good price so Box may want to look at that. They also offer security and privacy so I would think they are a very viable competitor to Box.- Industry: Education Management

Box for Science
Pros
Collaboration is a vital aspect of my work, and Box simplifies the process. I can easily share files and folders with my team members or external collaborators, regardless of their location. We can work together in real-time, making edits, adding comments, and discussing our findings within the platform. This level of collaboration not only enhances productivity but also fosters a sense of teamwork and efficiency in our research projects.
Cons
One downside of using Box, or any cloud-based storage platform, is the reliance on an internet connection. As a researcher, there may be situations where I don't have immediate access to the internet, such as when conducting experiments in remote locations or during travel. In such cases, relying solely on cloud storage like Box may limit my ability to access or update my research files until I regain an internet connection.

The best library app for manuals, documents and eBooks
My first experience with Box, was personal someone shared me some maintenance tips for my bike, and then she opened the app on her smartphone. She showed me the documents that she had found from different vendors and even some others she made, and then she asked me if she could share them with me.
In a few seconds I opened my account with box, and I was reading the information that she gathered for months. At that moment it hit me that I could use this app, for my working team.
Pros
One of the biggest challenges that I face every time a new device is released for evaluation, is to gather together all the manuals, specifications, errata, etc. And then share it with all the team.
There are many solutions on the cloud to this dilemma. Most of them involve using your computer, but when you want to use your tablet or smartphone, the best solution that I found with box.
I can have several shared folders with the different projects I am running, even personal information for fixing my bike, or ar recipe. It's effortless to navigate, read, highlight, and the app runs very smoothly.
Most of my documents are in ePub, or in pdf format.
I have a huge personal library at my fingertips that I can sort, navigate and read.
Cons
After 30 years of working in front of a monitor computer, I can't work for long periods of time in front of a screen with a white background.
I will love that they soon upgrade the app to work with a dark background. Other than that I love this app as it is.

Great tool for managing and organizing files
I really love box, appart form the few things I listed, I think is great. I definitely will keep using it.
Pros
Packs a lot of functionalities even from the basic plan.
Has many integrations.
The support it's awesome and fast.
It's very easy to use.
They're constantly making improvements and new features.
You can pay in your local currency.
The version controls really works, not like google dos where you have million versions.
Cons
You can't lower the number of seats if you need to, you have to wait for the renovation date.
When sharing outside of the organization the experiences its not grate for the client, it's confusing, many believe they have to create an account.
They remove the google docs integration, only works now if you also pay for google apps, it doesn't make sense, since you are already paying for storage.
Reasons for Switching to Box
Better pricing, more features, easier to use and the most important part was the version control feature.- Industry: Information Technology & Services

Box works well unless you have an issue
Box is a good cloud storage platform that integrates well with our CRM system, MS Office, Outlook, and Adobe. When its working it is fine, but your on your own when their is an issue ( ususally told to go to the knowledge database to figure it out). A time-consuming customer support approach for the user.
Pros
1. Works well with our CRM system2. Real time synchronization - no latency or delay in accessing loaded data3. Ubiquitos Data Access - with multi-location operations work teams are can collaborate very effectively between staff as well as with clients and third party sources.4. Avoids the local data backup issues
Cons
1. Customer Support is non-existent or your on your own. Always being asked to figure any issue out yourself by going to the knowledge database. No technical support phone number is available unless you pay a premium to talk to a human. Expect to spend a considerable amount of time trying to solve system problems.2. The process to remove unused box seats for people no longer with your firm is complicated and you risk losing the data those individuals loaded in your system. As a result, you pay for more seats than you actually use.3. Box and our CRM system get out of sync every 4-6 weeks. When this happens staff can no longer file documents within Box until the systems are re-synced.

Helpful for collaboration
We've used it for years to track various parts of our business, with the persona on site and the one in the office, both able to update, without having to meet or even be in the same place.
Pros
Quick, simple, easy way to collaborate with others across distances.
Cons
I really can't think of anything. We mainly use the spreadsheets and it works great.

Great program to store files in the cloud.
In overall, I use Box to safely keep documents in my organization and to share such papers with others. It is simple to use, and I can make folders for certain projects or departments that numerous coworkers can access at the same time.
Pros
Access, user-friendliness, and the ability to easily share documents are all pluses. I was able to upload my data to Drive and other cloud storage services immediately from WhatsApp.
Cons
My concern is that we may find ourselves in perilous circumstances if we don't know how long a shared URL will remain active. Once we transfer ownership to another party, we lose access to those ties until that party gives up control. Every user should be aware of how to generate these URL links and how long they will remain active.

Data Room dependent on Box
Overall, myself and our team is satisfied with Box. It's easy to use, incredibly convenient, fairly priced, and reliable. We've never once had a moment of not being able to access what we needed and it always "just works" which is really all you want & need for file management software.
Pros
What we like most about Box here is how easy it is to use and manage. Any of the relevant stakeholders from our team can quickly jump in, find what they're looking for, and then easily share out a document. They also make it incredibly easy to make quick changes to documents right inside of Box, without having to download a document, edit it, then re-upload it. The speed and ease of use keep us running smooth when it comes to storing agreements, fundraising documents, or anything else in between.
Cons
We've had a few moments where customer service could've been a bit better / faster. As it relates to our Box account, we are dealing with important documents so we want to make sure every time we need support we get quick and helpful answers.

Very Good Program
It helped me to complete my work very quickly and not worry about the confidentiality of my files and data. It also helped me in the development of my company and the speed of its performance and transfer of files.
Pros
A very secure program that allows you to store without limits and share them in a very safe and easy way, and you can restore your old files. also. This allows the organization to be managed better and faster and is very excellent for large, medium and small companies and institutions
Cons
I do not find many negatives in this matter, and since I learned about the program and used it, I have not suffered from any problems or negatives.

Storage with excellent features for a fair price.
Collaboration via e-mail, the local network, and off-hours with a secure and responsive document and data storage repository. Very clean interface that even allows relative newcomers to easily start storing, sharing, and pulling files from other users.
Pros
I loved that Box allows frequently-emailed coworkers from your outlook to easily view your recent box files, documents, and updates and download things of interest if they have permission. It makes collaboration via e-mail, even over large files, effortless.
Cons
Some of the features like drag-and-drop are buggy or tedious when linking multiple files, and the "upload folder" option is sometimes not able to be selected.
