## Reviews

### "Real Deployment Flexibility, But Check Your Integration Options Module by Module" — 4.0/5

> **Arpit** | *1 July 2026* | Building Materials | Recommendation rating: 8.0/10
>
> **Pros**: The deployment flexibility is for real, it's not a check box. My ability to select my own OS, database and choose on premises or cloud without rearchitecting the application to switch later gave me more architectural control than most cloud only ERPs I have reviewed for this process.
>
> **Cons**: The dual API issue is what I'd caution about. The system is still in the process of transitioning older modules from the older screen based logic to the new class based way so there is a split. Some modules only support SOAP and others support the new class based Web API so thete is no one cohesive integration pattern throughout the system.
>
> For mid sized enterprises Sage X3 could really be realiable and I would heavily recommend it. If having control over the OS and database you use is important then this is a really attractive option against other purely cloud solutions I surveyed. But the choice of deployment will determine not only hosting costs, but what kind of auth and integration options are actually available to the organisation.

### "Feature-Rich ERP That Supports Business Growth" — 5.0/5

> **Dheeraj** | *7 June 2026* | Information Technology & Services | Recommendation rating: 9.0/10
>
> **Pros**: The most attractive aspect of Sage X3, to my opinion, is its flexibility and ability to perform several different business functions from one single software. It facilitates all financial, inventory, procurement, and other similar aspects of business and provides real-time insight into its operation. Its flexible nature enables customization according to the unique demands of business and, due to scalability, Sage X3 turns out to be a very good option for small businesses.
>
> **Cons**: The aspects of Sage X3 that I liked the least were the complexity in implementation and the learning curve associated with getting used to the software. The system offers extensive customization capabilities, but at the same time, some features may take more time and skills to configure and maintain than others. Additionally, advanced report generation may require extra configuration and even the use of external tools.
>
> In general, my experience with Sage X3 has been quite good. It is a comprehensive ERP system that possesses excellent capabilities in finance, inventory management, purchasing, and logistics. This solution allows the flexibility and scalability required for further business expansion and better efficiency and visibility of operations. Even though the implementation process and system adaptation may take up a lot of effort and cost, its value in terms of better control and decision making has been undeniable for us.

### "I would not recommend Sage X3" — 1.0/5

> **Brian** | *20 May 2026* | Wholesale | Recommendation rating: 0.0/10
>
> **Pros**: The modern user interface and feature richness. The ability to add custom fields and business logic in the core processes. Users can customize the menu system to exactly what they need and skip the rest.
>
> **Cons**: Sage charging us for services that we could not use. Their warranty is designed to be useless. The 3rd party add on for warehouse management called Datalinx is closed source and takes way too much back and forth to get customizations made by the small staff in England. I was misled by our Sage partner that Datalinx was just as customizable as core X3. Without Datalinx X3s warehouse/barcode abilities were so dismal that they would not even sell it to me. They switched to subscription only and seem to dislike us because we have a perpetual license, even though we pay annual support.
>
> We spent close to a million on a failed deployment to our business. It was not an appropriate choice for a complex distribution business like ours. We have only been able to use it for a small number of users at a small business unit. Sage has been a poor partner, clearly seeing us as a revenue source and not a business partner. They deflected our technical questions back to their 3rd party sales channel and offer little for the support fees that we pay them. Never sign a contract with Sage that might have support fees for a preproduction system, make them share the risk of a delayed deployment.

### "Sage X3 overall is a great product, but like any may have its issues." — 4.0/5

> **Ryan** | *29 June 2026* | Medical Devices | Recommendation rating: 8.0/10
>
> **Pros**: It is a good ERP system for small to mid size companies. All ERP systems are expensive but this one is not a bad cost and has a lot of modules that can be used and or configured. It may take the use of a third party, but it can be customized to do just about anything you need. They offer on site and cloud versions depending on your needs. All ERP systems take time to learn, but if you have experience in them, this one should not be that hard to learn.
>
> **Cons**: It is a small niche of users and companies that seem to use it so finding someone that has experience with it can be hard. One con to me that may not be for others is they quickness of their updates, but more so how fast they do not want to support older versions. We validate our system and each time we are forced to update because they will not support the version we are on takes a lot of time and money. If there are security issues or bug fixes we always apply them and test, but when they are just pushing new features that we do not need and then are forced to spend a lot of time and money to update and validate, it is quite annoying.
>
> Overall it has been good. We have a vendor that we work with that is very knowledgeable and helpful in customizations and automations. There have been a few things that we have had issues with and even Sage can not seem to find an answer to the questions. They will test on their side and it works but does not for us. Hard to say if that is a flaw in the software or just do to changes we have made along the way.

### "Beneficial process automation but expensive" — 4.0/5

> **Tyler** | *19 June 2026* | Food & Beverages | Recommendation rating: 4.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Process automation is the best benefit we have experienced with X3. Having a customizable customer price list has led to automated customer order entry and automated payable transactions.
>
> **Cons**: In regards to value for money, the ongoing license and support costs are greater than the benefit our operations gets. We have continued with X3 because we currently have 3 operating units using it. If that decreases, we will have to assess other solutions.
>
> The initial installation and year of use was very painful but a lot of that may have been due to the X3 consultants we hired. After switching to RKL, we have had a smoother ride.
