Great Accounting Solution for small businesses
Pros
I would say affordability then ease of use. Since my business is still growing I had to switch to this product from another one and I haven't regretted. Invoicing has never been easier.

Reckon One is perfect for my small business
When MYOB dropped MAC support I tried the alternatives like quick books and Zero but they were not as user friendly or as well supported as Reckon and now I pay a fraction of what MYOB was costing. Reckon One has a very simple yet very functional user interface with full access to one’s accountant and automated bank feeds.
Pros
Easy set-up and operation. I run on MAC and transferred from MYOB with minimal fuss at the end of a financial year.
The support network is amazing and very quick.
I use it for my business and also for my personal super fund.
Cons
The only thing I miss is the ability to have a repeated transaction but Reckon has two alternatives that are almost the same, based on rule matching and regular transactions.

Growing my investments so I can hopefully retire one day; and knowing that I am living within my means and income most of the time.
Pros
Knowing exactly where my finances and investments are at. It's easy to use; can print reports and lets me budget.
Cons
Always find the end of year when having to download after paying subscription a bit of a pain, as I think it should happen automatically once subscription is paid. Also don't like having to use community rather than someone from the company.

Great for specialty business
We have a lot of long-term customers and I have had to find a way to deal with this in Reckon, by myself, as all attempts by consultants have not been user friendly. I would have liked mor training at the beginning to be more efficient,
Pros
I like how you can either do a straight invoice or create sales orders.

They did try
I really wanted Reckon one to shake up the market but all they did was shake up the user. I have been really disappointed with the performance (or lack of) with Reckon One. Their servers were slow making it painfully slow to try to use this software. I couldn't find repeating invoicing, or several other basics. They were full of hope and promises but just failed to deliver.
Pros
It did look cheap until you add up the cost of each module, then you realise, it's not cheap at all.
Cons
It's very late to market and decades behind the competition. It takes a lot of time and money to compete with the big boys and sadly this isn't something thatReckon One has.
It has very little basic functionality and sadly, very little prospect of developing even the basics, any time soon. It's not nice to use, it's clunky and awkward and just frustrates me.

Easy Choice
Overall, I have used Reckon, or previously called QuickBooks, since 2000. Reckon One has been a good experience in keeping our business and personal financials running smoothly.
Pros
Reckon One is a product that is designed for what I need in an accounting package and it is also a continuation of what I used in classes at the local Polytechnic. It is familiar to me and comfortable and the support service is ideal whenever needed.
Cons
Only one thing comes to mind that I like least, which is that as my years progress, my on-screen vision has suffered, and sometimes I prefer a larger font in some reports. I have tried the "Ask a question" option and don't always get an easy answer.

Very grateful
Very glad I had [sensitive content hidden] to deal with. He truly was a God-sent
Pros
The gentlemen, [sensitive content hidden], that helped me on the phone was extremely patient and kind. He stayed on the phone for nearly 3 hours trying to resolve problems that neither of us knew what they were. He even tried to google them because they were so new and difficult. Once he's figured them out, he took his time and actually resolved all problems in the system. I defiantly could NOT have done it without his help. It was a brand new process for us to try out and I'm very glad I had the pleasure of dealing with [sensitive content hidden].
Cons
The first two times I called, I was put with a different person that couldn't bother to help me or to even look up the error messages.

Reckon's Assessment review
After years and experience with other similar software I still see Quickbooks, Intuit or Reckon by which ever name as more toward top of the range.
Pros
Functionality and features. Stock Management in particular.
Cons
Some areas where guides or instruction need work to better inform the user.
So called popular information might be so for the programmer but more work needs to be done to address content in context with user interpretation and capability.

We can see the profit & Loss on each job
Pros
The best feature is that there are unlimited projects / jobs that you are able to add. This means as one job opens, you can begin evaluating the performance of these without having to close another job.
Cons
The payroll system had problems dealing with over 100 staff and thus we use an external system. This is unable to be uploaded automatically into Reckon. We have to do large journals to facilitate this.

Reckon Hosted
I have finally got on to Reckon Help line and got one of our businesses back to being able to open after leaving it to my accountant to do. After going being forced to go from Desktop to Hosted there was one company I could not open. I was so angry on multiple fronts and still don't like paying subscriptions - I like to buy an item and not have to pay every year. That was just one thing I put in the too hard basket.
Pros
The ability to see open invoices to track unpaid accounts. Invoicing is very easy and has multiple items that you can set up a template to suit your needs.

Accurate and reliable
It was a great app or system since I use it for Billing of invoice, sending statement of accounts to our clients, receiving payments and reports. It is very useful for those with small businesses. All the tasks for accounting is in Reckon One.
Pros
Reckon One is the system I use wayback when I was in New Zealand, it is my first time using the system and I can say that I can easily cope up with the functionality.

A well designed, well supported and reasonably priced platform
Pros
I have been using Reckon One for payroll only and submission to Single Touch Payroll. The monthly fee is down to $12 per month which reflects the functionality that I use and reasonably paid for. Reckon One recently upgraded its application to meet the needs of the 2nd phase of the STP requirements. This upgrade further enhanced the interface and improved user experience. The telephone support team has nothing to fault. Every staff is so nice, patient, and knowledgeable. They can answer every technical question I asked so far.
Cons
Nothing for now, as I only chose to use the Payroll and STP submission function.

Reckon One
Pros
The customer service was kind courteous, and willing to help when asked. The business development arm is however unreachable and has been since the first day of the trial. If you need someone from business development, dont hold your breath. Still waiting for them to contact us regarding other matters. I just find it odd that so attentive a customer service would be coupled with a business development team that cant be bothered with furnishing a response to an inquiry.
Cons
Business development team is difficult to contact. Multiple calls to customer service, reckon trunkline, etc, have yielded still no response from them. This may not necessarily affect you and is no indication of how great the platform is. I just find it frustrating that communication at that level is not up to par with the rest of the platform and service.
