What a waste of time and money

The logo. Everything else sucked.
This is a very misleading question used by companies that can't look themselves in the mirror and accept that they are not that good. This question should be left to the insecure.
Cons
The system never worked, the sales rep never showed up to help (although we had a meeting set) and for the past 14 months i have been paying for a service of which I NEVER used. When we finally had a chance to implement the system....the reader would not turn on! Just one failure after another and NOW I have to PAY them to break my contract!!!!!
Are you kidding me???
When I tried to call during a very busy time to get this fixed (we are seasonal), I got stuck in the "sales force" continuous loop of BS, only to get frustrated and have a survey sent to me moments later that has NO WAY of contacting a real human...and only really lets you give them kudos.
What are we actually teaching the next generation? That mediocre is ok as long as you hit the metric on your current survey goals??

They do not take ownership of any mistakes. Pleased with EPOS Now
We were concerned about introducing an EPOS system as we thought it would be daunting for a number of our older volunteers. However, it has been pretty straightforward and all our volunteers are competently using EPOS Now.
Pros
We like the reporting function within Back Office. Having ready access to sales information is great. Also having next day settlement is helpful.
Cons
The time to set up the system was the biggest bugbear but this was to be expected when details of circa 1,500 items had to be uploaded.

Great Product, Poor Aftersales and Support
They have a great product and interface for ease of use but terrible aftersales and customer support.

Ok in the beginning you are assigned with a representative from Epos Now and helps you through the set up on a one to one basis. This person will be based in the UK and will be very familiar with any issues you may jave or question and will resolve them quickly. I found myself thinking wow a great company.......
Cons
However once you are set up and locked into a contract, this excellent customer experience dissappears that enticed you in.
You will call to resolve any issues and you will be put through to a service representative that will not be in the UK and will have very limited knowledge of how to fix your issue, except for reading text on the screen in front of them.
Dont believe me try for yourself.
Call Epos Now and select the option for New Account or Sales...you will be put through to the UK and avail of the bells and whistles and helpfulness.
Call again and select option for billing query or complaints and prepare for outsourced call centres outside the Uk with limited knowledge unable to resolve a simple issue.

Eposnow - a great system
My experience with Eposnow has been very good. I have had a number of occasions where I have needed to call the helpdesk and every time, the person has solved my query easily and with patience.
Pros
Eposnow is very simple and easy to use but on the odd occasion that I do need assistance, the help desk are always on hand and quick to help.
Cons
I had a minor hiccough when I first joined and was not told about the need to have integrated card payments and subsequently incurred an unexpected charge. However, this was rectified.

Back Office Support
It's been a good experience so far, lots to get used to and become familiar with, which will take some time.
Pros
[sensitive content hidden] was brilliant today, he understood the problems/issues I brought to him today and was quickly able to guide me and navigate my way around EPOS.

There is an offline card somewhere within the system, which is taking payments but these payments are not filtering into our account.

The worst company I’ve ever seen
I would never recommend this company. The customer service I’ve experienced has been a joke, no refund 7 months into contacting them about it, absolutely no help. Closed my ticket without issuing the refund, I attached bank statement proofs of the money they took from me and there has been absolutely no help giving me back my €113, the worst I’ve ever seen in my life. How a successful company can take €113 off of a small business, not even send the product I was charged for and still not giving my money back after receiving proof? Unsure how this is even sustainable. Robbing from small businesses, absolutely disgusting and shocking behaviour. How many customer service representatives have to send it on higher to get a refund? I would never recommend epos now to anyone.

Epos now scammed me out of money. I purchased a full bundle in January for €113 and never received the till, now 7 months later I’m contacting them every day for my refund and being passed around like a spare part with absolutely NO help from anyone of them.

Very positive. Easy to set up and runs well and the overall cost is excellent.
Pros
Easy setup and ongoing management of the system. Cloud sync allows remote management. Easy for our bar staff to use.
Customer support is also very good - if we have an issue it's normally a 5 minute phone call to get it sorted.
Cons
The previous product management was clunky, but the new version has streamlined it and now lets us change the pricing of multiple products at once.
As we are a not for profit Social Club, initial verification by [sensitive content hidden] was a pain because we don't have a company number.

Appalling company and terrible equipment

Unfortunately I've been stung twice by this company. First time I purchased their software and they didnt support the set up properly, sent me faulty equipment, cut contact once they had my money and overcharged me for support services I never purchased. It took months and months to correct.
The second time when I started up my own business I decided to use them reluctantly because it was easy to transfer menus etc across from the old business to the new business. To get the same monthly price I had to pay a year in advance and thats when it went downhill. I paid my money and then the sales advisor [sensitive content hidden] who promised to transfer my menus cut contact and left me with nothing. After weeks of trying to get him to respond and filing complaints the Customer Relations manager with not the correct tech experience attempted to transfer all my menus and lost them all. £200 staff wages menu developing just gone like that! Now the software team are suggesting that menus with sub categories cannot be transferred. What a ridiculous system to set up that cannot thrn be transferred and better still why did no one advise of this before I paid an employee £200 to set up the menus. Now no one is responding to me. Ive paid a years worth of licenses and now got zero service and no till system. Shocking company and the poor service is across the board. Theres plenty other EPOS companies to deal with avoid these money snatchers at all costs as when there are software faults the tech teams are under qualified and just try to wing it regularly making your problems even bigger! AVOID!!

Not fit for purpose
Terrible, they have had months of money out of us and we have had 2 weeks of service from them, they need to release the contract obligation and stop theifing money from our small business.

We were promised the earth and the customer service delivered nothing, we told them that we need the system for our farm shop and it needed to weigh fruit and vegtables and lots of cheese etc, so we purchased the scales ( very expensive) and was told it would all be easy, i made it clear i had staff of all ages and they explained it would be easy. it was not! it was so slow, it took nearly 65/70 secounds per item, it was taken 10 minutes to serve one customer it was terrible. we explained this, nothing changed, so we had to stop using it, for 14 months since i have been trying to stop the payments coming out of bank and all the time they say "we are in contrat" but what about there contract obligation of a working product fit for purpose! its disgusting and every month they take the money.

The fact that they belive they have the right to keep taking monthly payments for doing noting, for providing no service, they can see from our log ins we used it for two weeks, it was so bad we nearly lost our business over it!

Service is horrendous
I wouldnt recommend after dealing with this company, good product,good sales and set up, doesnt make up for the absolutely terrible customer service when there is a problem.

customer service at your company is a joke, just pass the problem from person to person until the customer gives up calling?.. not sure why the customer service department of your company even exists because resolving issues efficiently and in a timely manor is impossible when getting passed from person to person and nothing gets done,if it wasnt so frustrating it would be funny your literally paying staff to answer a phone, apologise for the problem say they will fix it asap and then that request goes absolutely no where, repeat this process 50 times until you lose your mind and still problem wont be resolved.

They are Scamming People

Nothing, they are useless.
They are just scamming people. they Took money for terminal, payment processing.
i told my requirements that I need invoicing, payment link, Virtual Terminal and pos machine. They said they all have it. After taking payment they said they cant verify my bank. Then I told to refund my money. After then I approved my account. Without sending and providing my requirements they are trying to charging me each month. When I talked to there support team they said they only provide invoicing, payment link, Virtual Terminal after one month processing. I asked why you guys told me you will provide me invoicing, payment link, Virtual Terminal. They said let me talk with him.
No answer they didnt give me.
Now whenever Im trying to reach them. They said I can only rise a ticket. Wait till then. Dont go with them

Poor unreliable system. Card reader fails frequently.
It was okay until I couldn’t take payment multiple times the first day of being in business. Even with tech support and having it hardwired into the network, the card still failed multiple times the next 5 days.
Does not deliver what it promise.

Sales reporting is actually good, it gives you a breakdown of everything including modifiers.
Cons
Unable to collect payment. On grand opening day, card reader failed. I called tech support to fix issue. It failed again a couple hours later. And every single day for the first week in business it failed. I couldn’t take a lot of payments on grand opening week. I also wasted a lot of time calling tech support grand opening week. Time that should be been spent on grand opening things, not troubleshooting a card reader. This product is an epic fail. Don’t waste your time or money.

Rang up on Saturday Morning as had an issue with prices not being updated on the till (turns out through no fault of my own)

Don't waste your time or money
I purchased the system with the understanding that they are experienced in Retail POS and that their program could handle alot of products with variants. From the start there have been magor problems. This includes no power/ connector cord for the credit card machine, barcode scanner didn't work, (even my barcode scanner didn't work), constant error messages throughout training, adding products into system and the system would quadruple the items, no technical support even when customer service said they would contact me the same day, system will knock you out of the system in the middle of setting up an item, inconsistent ability to enter info into the system because specific add on sections would disappear and after all of that if you decide that the system is to unreliable and inefficient to meet your needs they will charge you a huge early cancel fee( i guess they have had a huge amount of customers wanting to cancel) my advice...RUN!

Excellent product and even more excellent support
From start to present the overall experience has been pleasant with only 1 or 2 minor issues which were swiftly resolved once support were contacted.
The equipment works well and as most of it is cloud based it is all very streamlined.
Pros
The cloud based back office is great as I personally am not based in the business where our tills are but can access almost everything remotely.
Also, on the rare occasion I have required technical support I have faced almost zero hold time and had an exemplary service to fix my issues.
Cons
It would be nice if I could view the 'till' screens remotely without paying for an extra license. Just to move buttons around etc not to use to actually be a 3rd Till device.
Also the bulk import tool should really be included free as part of the package instead of an app with additional subscription cost... although we only really needed it to get setup and the free trial was long enough it would still be handy to have access to this feature.

Great Till Software
Pros
It's super easy software to use and it's cheap compared to other ones out there. Till system is great and you rarely have any problems and when you do customer support its amazing. It has changed over the years (been using it since 2017) and they just keep getting better without any additional charge. It connects to shopify and keeps your inventory in sync, which is awesome.
Overall honestly, its a great software/till system and I wouldn't hesitate recommending this to anyone.
Cons
**More like I wish they would have the following**
If you don't save any chances (eg when doing a purchase order or editing product items) it doesn't give you a warning before you close the tab. This can cause issues from time to time and would be handy to have a pop-up when closing the tab if the changes are not saved.
Shopify app can mess up sometimes and sync the order twice which causes inventory issues but this has to do with the external app rather than eposnow but would be nice to have it fixed.
Having the ability to scan the purchase order would be a game changer. for example, currently you can scan the product barcode and then you have to put in the quantity you received. If you can just scan a product and it automatically populates the quantity by 1, this would reduce a lot of manual input.

We signed up with this company they have been unable to provide a working system and now its our fault and we have to pay and exit fee because we have no option but to leave them as we need a working till system.
A truly pathetic excuse of a company who no doubt spend more money on there legal department than they do anywhere else.

No pros they are a truly awful company, if you sign with them be prepared to talk with a million different representatives and waste your time explaining everything again over and over again

My experience has been great for the most part. I am still in the honeymoon stage with EPOS and have had to ask for help on specifics.
Pros
Ease of set-up and great access to technical support.
Cons
Technicians did not know my system and could not provide an owner manual for me to figure out the device and software.

The most comprehensive EPOS solution
We was on an old EPOS and having upgraded to EPOS now allows me amazing insight into my business, I can see my busy periods, get comprehensive sales reports, stock reports and instantly add products across my stores.
Pros
The most comprehensive EPOS solution for retailers. Cloud data and live sales on your app which by the way is equally as good. I have seen a fair few and this is by far the market leader.
Cons
I've personally had a bit of bad luck with printers, but thankfully I took the care plan which allows me to warranty my equipment no quibble and quickly.

Epos is Getting there.
I'm critical about their POS but after transferring to a more suitable POS for my type of business I returned to Epos as they have far superior customer service and the system is easier to use.
Pros
The Cost is superior, they have 24/7 support, once they have finished with their programming I'd have to say it will be fantastic.
Cons
The scanner and the lack of apple compatibility.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY..
Poor Service..not a good company to deal with . Don't give them your bank account # or credit card.
There are far better alternatives out there.
Get the Apple Square or deal with someone face to face who provides service after the sale

Seemed OK in beginning when they were selling the product.. After that All downhill in dependability and service after the sale.
Cons
hard to reach anyone for tech support .. Debit machines are garbage. After we cancelled by phone they kept taking money from our account and charging our credit card. When we finally got in contact with someone again , we were told we had to terminate through the back office .After trying it didn't work .We advised them again and nothing was done ..They continued to take money from our account and charge our credit card . we were out over 600.00 until we put stop payment at the bank and cancelled the credit card.

Very bad experience, they don’t care about you, just your money and never help you

No pros at all, you have to setup everything yourself and when you have a problem they will tell you one day and time they can call you, if you don’t answer have to do all the processes again

I spoke with [sensitive content hidden] about payment for the till which I thought was incorrect.He went through everything with me and explained in a way I could understand and the reasons for this he made me feel comfortable and valued .Wish everybody I spoke with on the phone had his attitude a credit to your company.

The only thing I found difficult was getting to right department on the phone to many numbers confusing.

Eposnow getting better
As mentioned in the pros section, Eposnow have become a lot better over time with better call answering times. I must say, if there is a genuine problem, they do seem to listen and act on your concerns.
Pros
Eposnow have got a lot better over time. When we first started with them back in 2020 there were a lot of teething problems with the system and mis selling. This has now been solved and we generally have a trouble free system. Their call answering times have gone a lot better albeit there is a long menu to get to the right solution.
Cons
See above for the cons. I would like their system to be a bit more retail friendly and more flexible, but I suppose you cant have everything.

Pros
Epos is easy to use and perfect for businesses. We only use a small factor of the elements available. But it’s perfect and clear to keep track of all our sales and stock.
Cons
Having regular updates that would happen automatically. And staff compared to a sales graph or table (in takings and who was clocked in) would be helpful to someone like me who manages it from a separate company.

Excellent Epos Now Products and even better Operational support
Excellent. I've always been happy with the product and how easy it is to set up and bring into operational use. But the best thing is the support team who are very able and efficient in fixing those little issues the team come across regardless of whether its a till issue or external factor.
Pros
Easy to set up, easy to use and training can take a few minutes to do the basics. There are good on-line help guides but the Technical/Support team on the phone have always fixed any minor issues we've had, usually not to do with the product but maybe a Wifi or knowledge issue. Product is not expensive to buy and running costs are low.
Cons
No real Cons to talk about! I've run two business' where we changed to Epos Now and both have improved our business effectiveness immeasurably.

Good experience with support
I am very happy with epos now. I’m not very techy but the software is very comprehensive and I’m able to do the things I need to. I’m also very happy to have my till and card processing together with one company and the customer service has been top notch.
Pros
I had an issue with my back office and the tech who helped me was super friendly and knowledgeable. She was able to fix my problem. I’ve always had such a positive experience with the whole support team but this one in particular, [sensitive content hidden] I believe, was phenomenal.

Wait times can be long sometimes but it’s really not that big of a deal.

I would never recommend this system. I will tell anyone who is looking for a system to not buy this one.
Pros
I was sold this product with many promises. The criteria we needed was promised and never delivered. We have been waiting for a refund after returning the hardware for 3 months
Cons
Customer aervice do a great job of 'looking into it' and say it is sitting with management management have never been in touch. They simply don't care. They owe us over $2000.

Great EPOS experience from software, sales to support
After experience with EPOS Now back in 2016, never thought I'd be using this product or company again, but what a massive difference these years have made. Nothing but positives so far. Which I hadn't messed about with the other companies the last 18 months.
Pros
Software had everything I was looking for, which most companies that have these features are charging the earth. The fact [sensitive content hidden] was able to help with an issue at 20:00 in the evening when most companies have sent the team home is impressive.
Cons
A lot of self learning, which for me is ok as I've used a lot of different EPOS companies, and this is also reflective in the pricing being great value which is fair.

System Keeps Bugging Out, No in-Person Support
Terrible. Absolutely do not recommend.

Nothing. The system bugs out and there’s no support during restaurant hours.
Cons
That it keeps freezing. Then there’s no support during restaurant hours. I am being charged for things I didn’t sign up for and then the number they give you to sort it out doesn’t go to the right person. On top of this if you don’t sort it out (which you actually can’t), they stop access to your system.

Absolutely disgusting. Has caused me the most stress this year than anything else.
Pros
The low eftpos percentage rate. Sucked me in. Not worth the stress EposNow has caused me at all.
Cons
Double charged me for 3 months despite me telling them each month that this was happening! Then it took MONTHS to recieve back, after hours on the phone and many emails sent. THEN they illegally charged me ANOTHER TIME and I am STILL waiting for this refund! The people on the phone can’t ‘authorise anything’ and have to send it through to a “manager” who you cannot speak to, and who does not approve refunds for months and months and months. No one can tell you what’s going on.

They happily steal and won’t cancel
Pros
Not a single thing did I like about this system
Cons
Customer service, the till refused to let me access the till and gave an error message for months. They did nothing to help. I begged and pleaded to cancel and I did all their silly steps and they kept thieving my money. I had to cancel my payment method entirely and then they still kept trying for months getting declined. I still don’t think they officially cancelled me. Their toll is crap and there are thousands of companies out there. Don’t go here
