A great cloud file storage tool
We use OneDrive as part of our Microsoft 365 subscription and integrate it with Microsoft’s Power Platform. It is a workhorse in our org. We still do a fair bit of document generation, as most people do I’m sure; paperless doesn’t mean the docs go away! 😁 That being the case, we use OneDrive to house a good number of files. It has come a long way and, while it isn’t perfect, it is a fantastic tool. Also, it plays nice with file backup tools. We backup everything to a local server daily and this was easy to do and just works.
Pros
Super easy to use and integrate across Microsoft products. Managing access is easy for individuals and organizations. It also has some nice options to limit what is stored locally, which is awesome for conserving drive space but has issues if the user isn’t always online. Thankfully, an option exists to keep everything on device, so this is easy to get around if needed. And it plays nice with most mobile devices, so you can always get to what you need.
Cons
It can be unclear to users how to do things or why issues occur. It is helpful to have an expert available for user issues. Another issue is how MS has removed the ability to turn off file collaboration in some “versions” of OneDrive (the version is actually the same but certain devices get different versions of that version. It is so stupid in my opinion.). Functionally, this means that saving files using VBA and dynamically generating the name can have issues when offline. There are workarounds, but the “always online” stance from MS isn’t great for employees in the field.

OneDrive for MacOS, Use a 3rd party File Manager
OneDrive is a practical choice for file storage and sharing due to its compatibility and integrations, but the macOS app’s performance and resource usage could be better.
Pros
OneDrive integrates well with 3rd-party apps for seamless file transfers and syncing, and works smoothly across Apple and Windows computers.
Cons
The macOS app has limitations, is resource-heavy, and performs hidden background tasks that impact performance.

Great Tool for Our Firm!
As an attorney, I've used OneDrive as a secure cloud storage solution for managing and sharing legal documents and case files. Its collaboration features make it easy to work with colleagues and clients in real-time. The integration with Microsoft Office tools has been invaluable for drafting and editing documents together. Additionally, its strong security measures, including encryption, help protect sensitive client data. Overall, OneDrive has been an essential tool for improving efficiency and streamlining document management in my practice.
Pros
We love OneDrive here at the firm! It is a highly versatile cloud storage solution, which seamlessly integrates with our Microsoft 365 and allows for easy collaboration with all our team members, automatic version history if you forget to save different versions, and real-time editing. We love that it works on our Macs as well. The last and most important feature we appreciate is its security features like file encryption and ransomware detection which keeps our clients' data safe.
Cons
There is not much that I could say I dislike about OneDrive. Syncing issues sometimes.

Not sure OneDrive is better than Dropbox or Google Drive (both of which I also use), but it's as good as the latter at least - even if Dropbox offers a better user experience.

OneDrive: Needs Improvements in Online Functionality
If OneDrive can improve the functionality of Microsoft applications on the cloud based platform, then this would be more frequently used. Rather, companies like ours want to find more convenient collaboration systems.
Pros
Allowed for company collaboration within the Microsoft Suite of products and helped us organize teams and project files.
Cons
Files not saving properly, conversion of files to readable and edit-friendly formats became more work. Microsoft applications work better when downloaded to device rather than on cloud based platform.

NO, please. Just no.
IT was an utter nightmare. I was never assigned a company Microsoft email addy so I was told to sign in using my existing hotmail account from 1997. Big Mistake. Somehow my personal files ended up on the main company drive, and some were LOST when I was pruned from the company account. I do not recall giving OneDrive permission to merge my stuff with the company's but whatevs. To this day I have issues logging into my 25 year old hotmail account, which I keep for throwaway emails and such. Also, it downloaded the entire OneDrive account onto my Macbook Pro and caused glitches, crashes, and other weirdness that only went away when I wiped the machine and started over. OneDrive is just too complicated for small business.
Pros
I liked how it was easy to share docs and digital assets. It's a good platform for Enterprise.
Cons
There was never any way to know if you were working on the latest version of a doc or asset. So many times we'd end up with ten different copies and no way to know which was the "official" doc bc everyone edited their own copy and not a master copy. Caused a lot of problems, hurt feelings, and needless reprimands.

OneDrive is integrated seamlessly into Microsoft Applications. A must for MS users.
Our office uses a SharePoint site to manage all internal documents. When moving files into or between sites/pages, your OneDrive will appear along with the other pages as a location. It does not feel like a separate ap and makes sharing work easy.
Pros
OneDrive syncs to your PC File Explorer making file management for those who still use desktops and easy and familiar experience. The SharePoint integration is seamless as well and works in the same manner as any of your site pages.

Good option to manage files in the cloud
It's our main solution for file storage and sharing. The great thing is that the files are available over multiple devices, you can easily share with other colleagues, have shared folders with different teams, and even share with external partners. This allows me not to worry about the files anymore, as I can be sure that I always have the latest version. Another great thing is that you can choose which files are saved locally so you can for example access these files from mobile only when you need them, while they are always synced on the desktop.
Pros
The space you get with the account is a good value for the price of the subscription to 365. OneDrive makes it easy to set it up on the computer, use as a regular windows folder and forget it's even running, while everything is synced to the cloud. The Autosave integraton with Office files that allows you to have the file autosaved every couple of minutes is also great since you don't need to worry anymore that you will lose some of the work you've done. And if you need, you can also restore some of the previous versions easily, which is really helpful.
Cons
The app has sometimes had hickupps - it stops syncing, needs restart, etc. However, this has happened less and less in the past year or two, so they've probably found a way to fix this now.

Excellent built-in solution for O365/Windows users
Pros
With OneDrive, you can toss all your files, pics, and vids up in the cloud. No need to worry about running out of space on your devices, and you can access your stuff from anywhere with internet.
If you're into Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, OneDrive plays nicely with them. You can edit and collaborate on your docs straight from the cloud, which is super handy for group projects or just sharing stuff with friends. Make a change to a file on your laptop? No worries, OneDrive syncs it up across all your devices automatically. So, you're always working with the latest version, whether you're on your phone, tablet, or computer.
OneDrive makes it easy to share files or folders with others. You can work on stuff together in real-time, which is awesome for team projects or when you're brainstorming with friends. Your files are safe with OneDrive. They've got all sorts of security measures in place, like encryption and multi-factor authentication. Plus, they back up your stuff regularly, so you can breathe easy knowing your important files are protected.
Cons
One drawback of using OneDrive is that the free storage limit can be relatively small compared to other cloud storage services. While it offers a decent amount of free space, users may find themselves needing to upgrade to a paid plan if they have a large amount of data to store. This could be a downside for those who are looking for extensive storage options without wanting to pay for additional space.

Easy to use and a winner
Makes folder management really easy. It’s easy to share links to documents or folders with different levels of access.
Pros
Really simple to use. I like that you don’t need to exit the windows folder library to use one drive, it makes it so straight forward and intuitive.
Cons
I’ve found that if there are ever issues syncing your one drive, meaning your documents or work hasn’t been uploaded yet, it’s not made as obvious as it could do. You’ll see a small yellow exclamation mark on the icon in the bottom right but I find that is easily missed. That is my only negative feedback - other than that, it’s a great seamless feature.

Seamless Integration for Microsoft ecosystem users: OneDrive
It’s incredibly convenient for anyone already using Microsoft’s suite of tools, as it integrates smoothly with Office apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. On the downside, if you're not fully immersed in Microsoft’s ecosystem, it might not offer as many benefits compared to other cloud storage services.
Pros
If you are microsoft ecosystem user, such as Word, PPT, Teams, Excell, OneDrive is an excellent cloud storage service. OneDrive integrate with other Microsoft services and offers a user-friendly interface and allows for easy file sharing, syncing, and collaboration across devices.
Cons
The main disadvantages could be that if you are not microsoft ecosystem user, you should check other storage service which are syncing with your softwares.

OneDrive- great for One Drive, terrible for more than one!
The overall experience is 4/5, there is no better alternative for me right now and Microsoft is trying to improve the product constantly- I just wish if they look for users suggestion more often. To avoid problems with multiple users I have to use 1 user account (windows) with 1 user for one drive.
Pros
It works very well with Windows PC- almost smoothly.
It works quite well with Android mobiles.
Live updates on multiple devices (as cloud should work).
Bulit-in desktop app that workes seamlessly like other folders (on windows)
Cons
From time to time it has problem with synchronisation but it alwayes inform you about the reason of it.
There is a certain maximum character limit for path+file folder name, which doesn't allow for deep structured folders. The cap is bigger for commercial use but still not enough to run a huge and deep folder structure.
Unfortunately Microsoft did not worked out properly multi-user work- I have 3 accounts (2 businesses and 1 personal) and it does not recognize which account should oper certain file.
Picture backup is terrible- I had to use another software for that.

Microsoft OneDrive: Reviewing Its Integration and Functionality
Overall, OneDrive is an essential aspect of how I interact with the Microsoft 365 environment and collaborate with others across a variety of work-related devices. While it has its issues, I could not imagine working in a Microsoft workspace without it.
Pros
What I like most about OneDrive is its ease of use and integration with most of my applications (Microsoft Office Apps, Teams, and Outlook). The layout mirrors the interface of Windows File Explore, which presents a layer of familiarity for me as I primarily use the Windows operating system.
Cons
There are a few things that I dislike about OneDrive. First, maximizing its use requires dependency on the Microsoft suite of products. This can limit functionality if you have more than one workspace or environment that you have in your organization.

Steve Rob Music - OneDrive Review
OneDrive is excellent, especially when we need to share a confidential file and can protect it with a password. We also appreciate the customization options for folders, allowing us to change folder colors, like making one purple or red, for easy organization. Additionally, we value the ability to adjust storage limits, choosing between options like 1 TB or 2 TB as needed.
Pros
We’ve been using OneDrive in our organization and appreciate how it enables us to organize files more effectively. We also value its ability to limit access, allowing us to share specific folders exclusively with certain departments, such as Human Resources, for example.
Cons
Two issues we have with OneDrive are, first, the slowdown we experience when syncing desktop files to OneDrive. For example, if we sync a large folder full of files, it noticeably impacts our computer's performance, despite our devices generally being quite powerful. It would improve our experience if the syncing process caused less interference with our computers' speed.
Secondly, we frequently encounter problems with incomplete uploads, especially with folders containing subfolders, images, PDFs, and other files. Once the upload process finishes, we often see a notification stating that certain files weren't uploaded, which is frustrating. We then have to attempt re-uploading those files individually, which is both time-consuming and inconvenient. It would be helpful if OneDrive provided more detailed explanations about why certain files couldn’t be uploaded.

A Powerful Storage Resource
I have been storing my files with OneDrive for over 10 years and have never lost a file or folder. When I want to delete or download a file or folder it's easy to do so. Also it's easy to share files with others who I have on my shared network. I really like that I can easily upload and download files I use weekly to a OneDrive folder on my computer hardrive rather than storing them on OneDrive online.
Pros
It's a secure means I depend upon to save all of my website, business and personal files.

OneDrive works great and you already have access via O365
Overall, it has feature parity with other cloud storage providers and the mobile app is really also reasonably good. I like being able to automatically sync pictures that are taken to onedrive storage. The integration with other O365 services, especially power automate make it very useful for us in sharing files without having 700 copies floating around in the email system.
Pros
It's integration with office 365 and even the windows 11 OS. We are a heavy Microsoft 365 shop and having that integration allowed us to move a lot of things to the cloud as we continue to be primarily remote across our org.
Cons
There are some poor design choices when it comes to things like "syncing" a folder vs creating a link to it and how deleting the link will actually delete all the data from Onedrive. Things that need to be corrected to avoid confusion.

My overall experience with OneDrive has been positive. I have never had any problems getting files on multiple devices. You can quickly search and download all your files on multiple devices.
Pros

I have a computer at work, at home, a laptop, and a tablet. I have all my devices connected to OneDrive. If I am working on an assignment at work, I can easily pick back up when I get home. Better File Organization
The experience with Onedrive was relatively good. I like many things about it and it's familiar.
Pros
Onedrive is pre-installed on some devices and with an existing Microsoft account there is no need to do anything other than sign in. Onedrive is secure and allows me to restrict access as needed.
The best feature in my opinion is file organization. It's a practical and logical system. I can pull up any file I need almost instantly.
Onedrive is part of a larger group of software that can be even more helpful as a whole. OneNote, for example. Office is another that I found helpful of course. Help is relatively easy to find. The price and alloted storage are good if you've bundled with Office/365.
Cons
Large files and sharing can be troublesome due to limited options. Synchronization has limited options as well. I've had a problem with duplicate files.
I question if Onedrive is the best option for business accounts.

Great cloud storage but lacks storage capacity
Overall my experience with OneDrive is great and I would definitely recommend for people with low storage needs, but if someone needs more storage capacities, Apple iCloud and Google Drive offers more options on storage capacities.
Pros
OneDrive is a wonderful cloud storage option. Its security is strong and you can easily manage the permissions on your contents. Also it integrates very great with all Microsoft softwares and devices, even on Android, iOS and MacOS.
Cons
OneDrive is limited to a maximum of 1TB storage capacity, therefore if you're a graphic designer or someone working with other graphic content like me, you'll find that capacity very low and will probably have to look for other cloud storage option like I did. Also, if like me you have to use linux on occasion you will find very anoying to be forced to go to OneDrive via the web browser because Microsoft still refuses to create a linux version of OneDrive Desktop.
Reasons for Switching to OneDrive
I kept it only for text documents, everything else is still stored on iCloud where I have 12 TB storage instead of a little 1 TB.- Industry: Information Technology & Services

Very usefull for backups.
I've been super pleased with it. Refreshing end users' laptops went from taking 30 minutes to an hour to less than 5 minutes for migrating the data.
Pros
Moving data between computers is incredibly easy. Beforehand I would have to manually move data via hard drives. Being able to sign into OneDrive and have all your data move over seamlessly is an amazing feature that I would hate to go without.
Cons
Since we don't use OneDrive too much outside of the backups, there really isn't any cons.

Using onedrive as a data storage tool and keeping backups
I have had great experience when using onedrive solely for the purposes of keeping backups of my data and making sure that the auto-sync is on at all times.
Pros
The accessibility of OneDrive on different devices is great for keeping a common backup across all devices, including mobile and laptop. It is very competitively priced for the amount of storage it offers compared to similar products.
Cons
Frequent crashes with the one drive sync on a laptop are a major issue. The mobile app is also pretty heavy taking up a lot of storage space and slowing down other apps as well.

Disappointing Cloud Storage Solution
My experience with OneDrive has been disappointing. The storage space provided is insufficient, and the cost is too high for the amount of space you get. Additionally, I found the software intrusive as it created a folder within my documents without my consent. Overall, OneDrive did not meet my expectations for a cloud storage solution.
Pros
neDrive integrates well with other Microsoft products, which can be convenient if you are already using tools like Microsoft Office.
Cons
The storage capacity is too low, especially given the high cost. The price does not justify the limited space provided. Additionally, the way OneDrive inserts a folder into my documents is frustrating and disruptive to my file organization. This lack of flexibility and control over how my files are managed is a significant drawback.

One Drive review
Pros
One Drive does a fantastic job keeping all of its apps in the same place. Easy to use double monitor and jump around on all the apps. Makes saving certain documents very easy and allows you to share them with ease as well.
Cons
When first started researching and then using this product there were lots of concerns for its data vulnerability. Seems like the privacy could use an upgrade.

Trusted cloud drive with easy file sharing features
Using OneDrive happily for many years and do not miss carrying around a WesternDigital external hard drive for big files like the old days!
Pros
Easy to use, very low cost, reliable and safe data storage with file sharing options to suit multiple circumstances. Comes with Office Suite and mobile image back up also so does everything required.
Cons
The mobile app can be a little slow at times and doesn't have image tag search like the gallary on phones.
