Edx puts more emphasis on academic degrees and credentials. The platform offers Professional certificates, micro bachelors, micro masters, and full master's degrees, all of which are online at affordable costs with free audit options for the majority of the platform content.

The micro master's degree holders can earn academic credit hours that count towards a full master's degree program when they meet the program criteria.
