We call it Jiggy!!

The software is consistent, our team loved the UI and it was relatively easy to implement because the customer success team was so hands on.

Pros

This is our 4th attempt at finding the right software to manage our agency, projects and tasks. Jiggy is here to stay!

Cons

The true PM side of this solution is not MS Project (but that is not necessarily a bad thing). We have made it work for our agency and are happy with the results.

There were concerns in the organization that the UI was not modern or intuitive. As the adminstrator and a user, I was happy with the product but you can't force something on a large team and have good adoption rates.

Love Workamajig!

Our company has used Workamajig for accounting and project management for 4 years. Overall we like the system. Its an easy to use, wholistic system that provides improved visibility to our financials. Our PM team loves it as well. The credit card feed feature is a big winner for us. This feature solved a lot of internal issues.

Pros

I like Workamajig for its ease of use, flexibility, and its reporting capabilities. We use about 75% of the features the system offers. Everything from accounts payable, billing, project management, credit card integration, and general accounting. This system provides many helpful canned reports and you can also create custom reports.

Cons

Too many ways to get to the same thing. Some navigation is not intuitive.

Did not meet our needs

Pros

It was nice to be able to upload documents to a project and proof directly within Workamajig. We could also see a breakdown report of how many projects from each department we completed, so that bit of data analysis was nice to have.

Cons

Workamajig really didn't meet many of our needs. It felt like a clunky software that was not very user-friendly or intuitive. Adding or deleting a user was challenging. Many of the project/job fields weren't relavent to what we did but we had to fill out the info anyway to enter a project. We wanted to customize different job fields and we couldn't. The way Workamajig organized projects by default was strange. We couldn't really personalize much/any of the software. It was hugely expensive too, even in comparison to other similar software that offers much more features.

Everything in one place

The overall experience has been great. The support is helpful and responsive and the features we use work well. I wish we had fully integrated all of our processes at the beginning, that would make the experience easier all around.

Pros

It truly has all the features needed to run an agency.

Cons

The overall system can seem complex, especially for staff who don't know much about running a business.

Workamajig helps us be successful

We use pretty much all of Workamajig and we love it. Our agency is new, and we are saving a ton of time by putting everything in Workamajig and using less outside software.

Pros

Very comprehensive from sales to billing and accounting. Task management is great.

Cons

It can be difficult to learn. Mobile is tricky. Wish they had a mobile app instead of just the website. Wish they had a chat or IM feature.

Capacity Management

Financial Pro review

It has been positive. Response from support is within 4 hours.

Pros

Agency centric. Provides alot of great features i.e. Vpayment, CC connector, Advance bill, prebill

Cons

Project management and media buying need to be updated for current needs in advertising space or PM and Media buying and tracking.

Some of the reports do not tie to other based. Reporting should be more robust for the end user. We should have access to the entire database to create reports i.e. report writer, crystal reports.

In-House Project Management

It has taken time to get used to the program. We use the program mainly for job tracking and trafficking. Now that I have individuals to work with, I look forward to where we can evolve to.

Pros

The potential that this program has is vast and thought out. I like that we as customers have a voice in aiding in the evolution of the program. I am fairly new to the program and I appreciate the continued education.

Cons

Not being able to customize the top portion of the project request form. This could be training or working with our account rep however.

Good, but not user friendly

Not a huge fan, but the more I learn about it the more I like it, see it's helpful features, but not the best out there due to not being user-friendly to navigate

Does so much!... but at not well

Pros

I liked that workamajig housed our advertising agencies accounting, time management, project management, etc!

Cons

Since workamajig does so much, it seems like it doesn't do anything super well. Still is impressive that a single software can handle so many different areas of the business. I wish that they had better training/consulting, as I wonder how much we were not "fully utilizing" the system.

A Helpful Tool for Everyday Design Agency Management

Pros

It's pretty easy to use, great for tracking time next week, running financial forecast reports and understanding budget burn impacts on projects. Easily able to view and sort by client and project, and update hours and estimates over the project duration as needed.

Cons

At times, it can feel challenging to find the right tools within WMJG since they are not located in the most user friendly or logical spot. This contributes to a long onboarding process for new team members. The overall design and UX/UI could be improved for a more seamless experience.

Not user friendly

An employee in a creative role. Time tracking is most of all I do in there.

Pros

The name is good. Other than that I don't know what else to choose as a positive.

Cons

I think for me it's the execution in design and the overall experience. I don't feel like entering my time is a seem less process from day to day. There are seemingly useful features hidden in odd places. I firmly believe that a project management system should be all inclusive so that teams don't feel the need to go outside of the app to create better documentation, better communication, better task tracking. An easier modular system would be great.

Long time user

This is the third agency I've used Jig at. Every place has it set up different but the pain points I mentioned above are consistent at each place. I haven't seen the platform evolve much over time, I can't believe there isn't a calendar integration yet or a mobile app.

Pros

Timesheet capabilities. I don't use it for much else at this point, I use Outlook Tasks to keep track of what you call "my activities".

Cons

No integration with Outlook or Google Calendar. The search function doesn't seem fully developed, doens't always populate the things we are looking for. Requires a lot of refreshing. No mobile app. There is not a great personal task option, not everything I need to complete needs to be on an activity.

One of the only ways to gain a 360 degree view of your business

We have used Workamajig for over a decade. We first used it for its time management and project management functions, but then we transferred our accounting onto Workamajig and now have a complete dashboard for our business.

Pros

Workamajig is a fully integrated agency management, which means that you can see a direct connection between projects, resources, time, money and profit.

Cons

The CRM/sales component and the vendor management components of the software are its least powerful options. Also, the fact that data are kept in silos means we can't find correlations as deeply as we wanted, but this is mitigated by the fact that there are plenty of excellent and powerful reports and reporting options.

Workamajig keeps advancing

I really do like WMJ, it's been my favorite software I've used this far.

Pros

I like the software because of it's functionality and how many different ways there are to measure your productivity. I think it is complementary to many different roles within a company from accounting to project management to traffic monitoring, benefitting all of them equally.

Cons

Although I like that WMJ continues to update and make the software more useful, I find that sometimes it's not very intuitive, especially while trying to train other team members on the many steps.

It works, and the lock-in is intense, but I would recommend something else

I already know how to use it, and it's minimally ok for time and expense tracking.

Pros

The new platinum version is a better UX than the old Flash app. After you know how to use it, it's minimally functional for what it does.

Cons

The core app is built in Flash, and doesn't work well at all. Also, the app doesn't export any data easily in any way whatsoever, and it's nearly impossible to get a hold of your data in a useable way.

Works well for our team

Pros

This software has the ability to cover several aspects of the business, from finance and sales to project management and time tracking. It is great to be able to have al resources in one program. Our account manager is also great in helping us fully understand the capabilities and settings. She is always available to help train us to use the software even better.

Cons

There are some detailed features that we want to use, but are not currently in the software.

A valuable tool that helps keep track of project schedules and milestones geared to creatives.

an overview of projects and their due dates organized by tasks.

Pros

No longer in flash, it is an elegant design that is easy to read. The customer support is good. They work with you and often bugs are fixed. Projects are clearly sorted by deadline.

Cons

It's great for simple deadlines, but It doesn't have any tools to sort out congested schedules. e.g. what software can stop someone from being booked 84 hours in a single work day.

It's very manual. updating projects can be time consuming and human error with the interface has lead to scheduling errors. It's not very compatible with other common office programs (e.g. can't get it to sync for meetings in outlook and we don't want to use jig for all our meetings). This means we only use a small portion of the software relating to project schedules and budget.

Hard to establish priorities.

Some information is hard to find with their interface. (e.g. several clicks to find the task number required to enter your time if you are entering a task that you weren't assigned)

Not ideal, but the best option we've found so far

Workamajig is an integrated tool that's useful for agency management. It's helped consolidate the programs and software needed to run the business.

Pros

How integrated it is for timekeeping, accounting and media.

Cons

Because it's so customizable, it can be very overwhelming and confusing to know how best to set it up to utilize features for your business. I would recommend utilizing a Workamajig consultant to get everything set up for best practices.

Project scheduling and management features are clunky to use, and require ongoing attention and updates to keep things current.

Great for some things

Pros

Time management tools work well. Tracking time and calendar interfaces are good.

Cons

Project management tools lacking a good user experience.

Using this software on a daily basis makes me rethink my choice of job every day

Pros

Not much. They used to force an insecure flash based version on us until about a year ago when they rolled out their "platinum" beta. Since then we've felt like test dummies with a buggy beta.

Cons

Is it possible to dislike everything about a product? They completely revamped their product in their new platinum version, and somehow they got everything wrong again. They started from the ground up and still held onto the terrible features from their insecure flash version. All of the new windows "open" on top of one another, instead of taking up the full screen. Even when they open, most of the time the windows freeze up if you start to resize the screen. It's a responsive design, but it's not responsive at all.

Overall, it's been great. It's proven to be an indispensable part of our biusiness.

Pros

I like that it's built by my industry for my industry. I love having estimating, time tracking and billing all in one system.

Cons

When my co-workers complain about WMJ not being intiutive, and the long slow gring from classic to platinum.

It is too hard to conceal cost rates from most users. We've never been able to use any sort of profitability reporting, because it was too easy for almost any user to reverse engineer what anyone else in the company was getting paid.

Workamajig review

I use it a lot for budget management but I don’t find it to be very intuitive at the moment, it requires a lot of time to get all of the information I need in an organized matter. I understand there should be some improvements coming once my teams works to customize the program for our company.

Pros

I think it’s capable of a lot of things and the more I use it, the more tools I find available to me.

Cons

I find it fairly slow and not very intuitive. It’s not clear to me how to best use the program for my role and responsibilities.

I use this daily, to keep the variety of projects and teams organized and on task.

Organization and time tracking on accounts.

Pros

The schedules make keeping my creative team on task, with the numerous projects running on the same time line. Diary makes communication a breeze between all team members in various office locations. Keeping our mechanical files in the project's file section makes keeping things organized a breeze.

Cons

Platinum updated version is taking some time to get used to, but should be fine after some time and practice.

Workamajig is great for whole office comms

Pros

It is easy to communicate with people from all departments. The system allows everyone to have access to all parts of a project.

Cons

The learning curve. It takes a lot of getting used to before you can seamlessly use Workamajig.

Copy and Paste limitations, Lack of labeled icons

Its a useful tool for recordkeeping.

Pros

The ability to database information on projects, while documenting time and costs, is relatively simple.

Cons

The inability to replicate a whole line, copy, paste and save information, for example repeating a repetitive activity in a single step would enhance the tool. Often now the javascripted version, that I prefer, crashes. The Platinum version with just browser operations is not well laid out, and the icons are confusing, if there were more complete dropdown or pop-up descriptors when mousing over operational elements, that'd be an improvement. The help function provides a long list of all possible responses upon inputting a search query. Suggest a limit to the top 10 matches with the potential to get all responses with another click.

Pros

It is very easy to pick up on as a new user. Also, it is very easy to manage time sheets in the system. When it comes to order creation, I do enjoy how well organized they are when it comes to searching through them and how easy it is to navigate.

Cons

Sometimes when it comes to order creation the software "glitches" out and I have to restart the process. When entering time in to timesheets sometimes the options aren't available/won't load.

My favorite project management tool

Used for project management for marketing creation and execution including design, copy writing, approvals and trafficking assets to appropriate teams.

Pros

I used it the longest of all PMT so I am be partial but it was very versatile and we could make it work for our specific organization.

Cons

It can be complicated to learn as it does have a ton of features but once you take the time to understand the capabilities it becomes an invaluable asset.

So-So Agency Software

It's ... fine. Agency software leaves something to be desired in general. The Mondays of the world don't offer a ton of high-end functionality, and database-backed software like Workamajig seem to be inherently tough to use. If you can live with a Monday or a Basecamp, stay there. If you need something big but can't afford an Oracle or SAP, Workamajig is a fair option.

Pros

It's better than a lot of project management tools we've used in the past. Assuming you're a super-user and have clean data, it's possible to schedule work well ahead of time.

Cons

The UI is beyond unintuitive. Logging time is exceptionally difficult; it requires filling out 4-5 fields, each of which must be clicked individually. Finding tasks is very tough unless you know the exact wording used to put them into the system. Reporting is sub-par.

Great Tool for Managing a Business

Overall, we really like Workamajig. It’s provided us with everything we need to run our business and make a profit on our projects.

Pros

We’ve used Workamajig for over 10 years now. It’s allowed us to develop fantastic reports that document all our financials. The time tracking tool allows us to carefully manage how we bill our clients and helps us keep to our budgets.

Cons

We’ve had trouble in the past with how overwhelming this software can be. We’ve had to contact our support team to help. It’s a great tool, just a lot behind the scenes to develop the types of financial reports we need.

Easy to Use: Great Product

Pros

This software was easy to use, easy to adjust, and easy to teach people how to use it (provided you put in the time of course). It was customizable to our specific project workflow needs and would connect with accounting to account for billable hours.

Cons

There were a few features we would have liked to have for our project management processes that this software didn't have, although many companies would likely not need these features. One of them was being able to automatically assign teams to a specific project so we knew who would be working on those tasks; this step is manually with Workamajig.

Works, But No Cigar.

It work as a good way tho assigning tasks and designate jobs to people but it's a great way to communicate and needs improvement as far as its interface and layout.

Pros

Perform well and is functionally adequate for the needs of the company. A definite improvement from previous interfaces if you have been using this platform before and are thinking about returning.

Cons

Still far too many layer and too much complexity. To access a file thats been uploaded required sometimes digging through the not very intuitive file system.

Simple and Easy Way to Log Time

Pros

Billing time to multiple jobs and clients.

Cons

My company logs jobs by specific job numbers. It would be cool if the jobs you worked on the most automatically showed up, so you dont have to search for them every time.

We workamajigging.

Pros

I like the Traffic Schedule in the Flash version so you can see your daily/weekly tasks along with your team members. Task Timers ARE THE BEST!!! You can bounce between timers as you work through your To Dos (just make sure you pause your current timer before switching tasks ;)

Cons

In the traffic schedule, I would like to be able to select specific people and not just departs. I don't always need to see the schedule of the whole design team, I just want to see one person.

Been happily using Workamajig since 2010

Pros

The software is very user friendly and if something is not working quite right for you, the support team is great to work with and they help you figure out a work around. Sometimes they even take your suggestions to make an upgrade so it will work the way you want it to.

Cons

It's flash based so it will not work on iPad, but they're introducing Platinum to fix this issue. The transition to Platinum will be a challenge, but well worth it in the end.

Used for Time Tracking

Compared to other systems I've heard about, I think this may be one of the most robust; however, with that in mind, employees needed to be trained at length to learn the system

Pros

It had all of the features we needed, and made time tracking easy. Very robust software.

Cons

It was complex and not very user-friendly. The processes to do certain tasks were not always intuitive - once you did it a few times, it wasn't too bad, but people needed a lot of training, and still had issues with steps they forgot or a box they forgot to check, etc. The version I was using (which may have been an older one) felt dated and a little clunky.

Gets the job done

Great Tracking Software

I am one of those individuals that know this software package can do more than I even know about, but get too involved in other projects to really understand and use everything it has to offer. It is fairly intuitive, but when I have problems a quick email to Marlene and she helps me resolve the problem very quickly.

Pros

In most cases it is very simple to figure out, so I would consider it very user friendly.

Cons

I cannot delete employees or contacts once they have left the company; that I can only inactivate them.

I'm a contract designer who found Workamajig very useful and easy to use.

I was able to work with other team members to easily and effectively track approvals, and in general manage jobs, as they were being worked on.

Pros

It's easy to learn and use. I've used other project management software in the past that was convoluted and extremely frustrating. With Workamajig, I was able to find jobs quickly and as well as easily use other helpful functions. I work in a different department now where I don'y use any project management software. My comments are based on 9 months of previous experience. When I had issues with the software, an on-site administrator helped me.

Cons

I haven't used the product in several months. I don't remember the issues that caused problems. Although there were issues, overall I was pleased with how it worked.

It's okay

Pros

I can quickly see what projects/tasks I have due and easily track the hours I've put into a project.

Cons

The collaboration function is lacking. Also, once I click off on a task it's hard to find a project again. It would be better to see open projects as a whole, rather than just current tasks.

Comprehensive Traffic/Project Software

We needed to keep track of literally hundreds of direct mail, print ad, documents, etc. and have separate job numbers for each that would be printed on the bottom. After analyzing multiple options, we found Workamajig gave us the best functionality.

Pros

The ability to assign "sub" project/job numbers, ease of opening jobs, and the ease of setting up internal customers to create job requests within Workamajig

Cons

It took a fair amount of time to set up, and was a bit complex to use.

Glitchy and unresponsive

Pros

The calendar and schedule finder is easy to use.

Cons

Very glitchy. Moving meetings often causes errors, interface is confusing, does not integrate with google calendar.

Good project management program

Pros

Workamajig is a very detailed project management platform that is ideal for project management organization, scheduling and time tracking for an organization with a large volume of projects to manage. The program goes into very granular detail for task responsibility which is vital for a large volume projects.

Cons

If your department project volume is light or not that complex, Workamajig would be unnecessary for your project management needs. Sometimes simple projects get bogged down in a myriad of tasks of checking a completion box – where the platform is supposed to be enabling efficiencies, it is adding unnecessary work to the team.
