It offers incredible VPS hosting with poor customer services
It's a great product for fast and reliable web hosting. Digital Ocean is suitable for hosting standards for large websites and applications. I like it because it provides a great site performance score and also provides full controllability.
Pros
What I like about Digital Ocean is that:- I only pay for the resources that I use. While several other hosting providers will urge clients to go in for long-term hosting, Digital Ocean enables clients to only pay for what they use. This is pretty transparent if you ask me.- It's easy to use: While this may make sense to some people, Digital Ocean has one of the most simple and ease-to-use workspaces. Features are well allocated and they are not even supercharged. It makes it easy to locate an item without hassles.- It uses solid-state drives which are way faster than the usual storage most companies offer.- iT various droplets which are easy to configure and can also be deployed
Cons
The reasons why I stopped using Digital Ocean is that:- After three months of hosting, the system started refusing my prepaid visa card meanwhile I'd been using it in the previous months without stress when I reached out to the support team they took a longer time to respond and didn't solve the problem. They suggested that I should try paying via Paypal and there was an extra $10 that got added to the initial fees that I was to pay. At a point, it made no sense to me.- Secondly, all services are self-managed. Although it somehow gives full controllability what about beginners who have little knowledge of cloud computing or similar products? they won't make it.- Fast support comes at an extra cost. This is not a good model - It makes no sense to reduce subscription fees to later ask me to pay for support. It's not even common in today's business world. Please consider upgrading.

Terrible hosting!
I have used Digital Ocean for more than 2 years and I regret it.
I started over the recommendation of our freelancer, but in 2 years, I always had a hard time, from setting up, to managing, to backup, and performance, everything was very hard and confusing for me. And whenever I had a problem and opened a ticket, I only received automated responses and never heard from a real person answering my messages! In the end, one of my sites was hacked because of Digital Ocean and they didn't even bother to respond to me for anything at all!
I finally pulled the plug and changed to another hosting provider which I am happy with!
So, in short, if you are not a genius with IT, stay away from Digital Ocean. Or if you use, pray that you will not have any problems and will need technical support, because if you do, support will be nowhere to be found!
Stay away at all costs! You will regret it!
Pros

DigitalOcean is a wonderful tool for developers and small businesses
My overall experience. When I first started, I was a beginner in server management. There was a time where I didn't know what I was doing. But after spending time with the documentation and researching further user forums, I felt more confident that I understood how DigitalOcean worked for me. Now I can safely say that this was a good investment into my future business.
Pros
I really enjoy the use of Droplets to build my own servers just the way I want. With options to control how large my server is and more options to scale it in the future, I can be assured that DigitalOcean will have what I need.
Cons
There is always room for improvement with any application. DigitalOcean makes is hard to find faults but I would say improving the console experience is always at the forefront of my mind. Making shortcuts and scripts to set up servers quickly would be nice for brand new users.

Great Service for being in control of our own servers
It has been good and I see no reason to think of moving. Service is great, price is good too.
Pros
I like that they provide inexpensive virtual machine hosting and allow for complete control over it.
You can resize machines quite easily, make snapshots of VM's control firewall settings etc.
Cons
It is not always easy to find the section you are looking for but a quick google helps easily.

Great cloud service, one of the best
Pros
I use DigitalOcean for many of my projects for about 5 years already. I'm very happy with the different features and support DigitalOcean provides. My most used feature is DigitalOcean apps. This is a great and easy way to run your projects without the need to configure virtual servers.
Cons
One important limitation is that DigitalOcean uses CloudFlare so the request time is limited to 100 seconds and this can't be changed. You will get a timeout after this time. Because of this limitation, I'm using Google Cloud Run for one of my API.

The Cloud Platform for Innovation and Collaboration
I significantly depended on DigitalOcean as a student intern at the university's IT department to host and test a variety of web apps. I was able to set up and maintain servers fast because to its user-friendly UI and comprehensive tutorials, and I also saved money thanks to its reasonable price.
Pros
Affordably priced plans, a versatile and scalable cloud architecture, an intuitive management interface, and a wealth of training and documentation are all provided by DigitalOcean. It is the perfect platform for developing and distributing apps because to its user-friendly UI and strong API.
Cons
Despite having excellent value for the money, DigitalOcean is missing certain cutting-edge capabilities, like load balancing, backup scheduling, and automated scaling. Its customer service might also be more helpful and responsive.

Digital Ocean is in my top 5 for hosting solutions
Digital Ocean accomodates all kind of public. I use it's services for my small to medium business websites, for hosting, databases and backup. I also deploy my internal tools there. It's affordable, reliable and also plays nice with others.
Pros
You can depend on Digital Ocean. It's server are very sturdy, you can choose from a very wide range of options and everything is documented.
Cons
It's complicated to setup properly, but it's getting better every day. This is not Digital Ocean's fault, Cloud Computing is though.
Reasons for Choosing DigitalOcean
Mostly pricing issues: Digital Ocean let me choose how much I will pay for something in advance. Also, it gives more value for money than a standard VPS solution.Reasons for Switching to DigitalOcean
Easy to deploy, affordable solutions, but also less managing options. Digital Ocean has it's own uses cases, different from other providers.- Industry: Marketing & Advertising

Deploying Linux or open-source software? Use DigitalOcean
In a word -- superb on all fronts -- as an example, we were replicating a certain image type that wouldn't work -- any time we'd load the image on a new box, it would fail. It turned out to be a very specific issue around the length of the image name on a specific Debian release -- the DigitalOcean support team figured it out, and looped back with us, long after we'd simply rebuilt the image.
Pros
The most amazingly refreshing platform to use in a long time, especially for back-end work. We'd switched from AWS, which was incredibly cumbersome to administer.
Cons
We sometimes have had to migrate between data centers because the machines we wanted in the data center in which we already had nodes didn't have the same node available for scaling.

Digital Ocean has saved me a lot of money
The pricing is fantastic and has really forced me to abandon any expensive managed hosting platforms. With DO, I can use the latest web server technology when I want. I have experience nothing but great, prompt customer service.
Pros
Along with great guides, DO has provided me and my clients with a growing list of tools to be more productive.
Cons
The learning curve was steep when I started using DO several years ago. I imagine those with no experience in this area would struggle but the guides really helped.

Good Cloud Provider
We have a good experience with Digital Ocean. We use a couple od droplets with a managed DB to implement a custom backup system. We are evaluating their Kubernetes managed service.
Pros
I like the UI which is very intuitive. For a begineer it's probably the best choice respect to other cloud providers. Another great aspect is the price, really cheap to start a basic droplet or a managed DB. Documentation is good and many problems are already resolved if you find over internet.
Cons
If you need a complex but really full of features Cloud Provider maybe Digital Ocean lacks for some services and specific configurations. Anyway they are working hard to add even more features.

Best Cloud Hosting for Developers with Wonderful User Interface and Tutorials
Overall I am quite happy with the way DigitalOcean is. Currently my site is hosted on DigitalOcean and loads quickly. A faster loading site means more visitors and more visitors means more income generating possibilities. Spinning new servers from images save lot of time.
Pros
Things that I like about DigitalOcean are
1) You get power of cloud computing at some discount compared to Amazon and Google.
2) Nice and intuitive dashboard.
3) You can provision new servers in around 60 seconds.
4) Developer friendly.
5) Ability to collaborate with teams.
6) Predictable pricing.
7) Scale up as you grow.
8) Can enable IPv6 for the server.
9) Get to know various monitoring metrics like CPU and RAM consumption, disk usage, bandwidth consumption in the dashboard at a minimal interval of 5 minutes. You can see these usage for last 14 days.
10) Take backups and snapshots incase of anything goes wrong.
11) Easy to configure Firewall.
12) Can increase disk space easily by adding Block Storage to the droplets.
13) DigitalOceans Spaces can be used to offload static files for as low as $5 for 1TB CDN bandwidth and reduce load on server.
14) DigitalOcean has one of the best knowledge base and how to articles to get you started or get out if you are stuck.
15) Create alerts to receive email notification
16) Get email notification when monthly spending reaches your defined threshold.
Cons
Things that I don't like about DigitalOcean are
1) You have to turn off the droplet to scale up or scale down.
2) Information regarding DDoS attacks on droplets should also me made available in the control panel.
3) Backups and Snapshots costs extra and are pricy.
4) Does not accept prepaid cards for payments.

Simple, easy to use and reliable, everything you need.
It's a low-cost item with a straightforward payment mechanism. The digital ocean's documentation and support are highly helpful in handling project difficulties. If you're new to the service, though, you should spend a few hours learning about it and reading the help forums. The majority of your questions will be answered there.
Pros
The best part is that it's a fixed price, so you won't have to worry about billing; it won't go over budget, and it'll always be the same amount. Their administration panel is significantly more user-friendly than those of other cloud providers, making it easier for people with less technical knowledge to operate. We've never had a server go down in the period we've been using DigitalOcean.
Cons
For newbies, setting up SSH and remote access to your server may be tricky. There is no premium support on Digitalocean. If you have a problem with digitalocean and submit a support ticket, the customer care team will simply provide you a link to a post on their blog that will help you fix the problem.

We use DigitalOcean for a couple of years now to maintain our websites. It keeps running with no issues, so we are pleased with that outcome.
Pros
Very easy to create, backup and replicate VPS servers. Everything is in the right place and the web panel is very user friendly. Pricing for newly created servers is very clear and fair.
Cons

Personal Experience
I'm an email marketer, and I use DigitalOcean droplets to create virtual private servers to host my SMTP server, which allows me to send emails to my list.
Pros
It is one of the simplest ways to set up a VPS, and you can choose from a variety of operating systems such as Ubuntu. There are numerous droplets to choose from, each with a different price. The best part is the free trial period that they provide when you register, which allows you to try everything they offer for free.
Cons
What I dislike the most is that it has a bad reputation, so if you decide to use it as your email marketing server, you should be aware that it will be blacklisted the majority of the time. Furthermore, they make no effort to prevent spammers from using their services.

Fast, Secure, Inexpensive and Easy to Use
Very easy to use, predictable billing, stable servers, no unexpected surprises.
Pros
I originally went with DigitalOcean because it integrated well with SpinupWP. I have found that DigitalOcean is very stable, has a very easy to use interface and is a cost effective solution to moving off of shared hosting like Siteground, iPower, GoDaddy, etc. and having more resources and control. Probably not for everybody, but if you are hosting many projects and want speed and control it is a top choice.
Cons

My new favourite cloud provider.
Porting my app to DigitalOcean was an absolute breeze. We went looking for a platform as a service provider that could replace Heroku without losing all the zero-config creature comforts we have come to expect, and DigitalOcean has more than met the mark. We are confident that we will have every need met throughout our scaling journey, and that the pricing will be fair all the way up.
Pros
DigitalOcean is the simplest and most cost-effective platform-as-a-service provider I have ever used. Their simplicity does not come at additional cost unlike Heroku, and they have all the tooling and infrastructure to manage your every cloud need. Their documentation is spectacular, and their support is second to none.

Nightmare company erased all our data and backups
Pros
It seemed reliable but isn´t - it´s a horror company.
Cons
I have used digital ocean for more than 7 years. Now comes the horror. I was on a summer trip for about a month and really took a digital detox time. Within this period, our company credit card was outdated, so the monthly payment couldn´t be processed. When I saw this, I immeadiately used another payment service and took care of the bill. However, DigitalOcean had already erased all our company data and back-ups. A project worth more than 150 thousand EUROS was just erased. According to DigitalOcean the data is gone forever and they told me don´t worry you can just start a new one. To everyone out there, the company is not trustworthy and doesn´t care about you. Watch out and better find an alternative, usually data is stored in backups and not 100% erased within such a short period. Moreover, customer service really bad - unbelievable.

Digitalocean is so extremely easy to use. You can get a product deployed in under 10 minutes, with super fast build times.
Cons
It is somewhat expensive, however the ease of use makes it very worth it.

Fast, Easy, and Reliable Hosting with DigitalOcean
Pros
DigitalOcean is an ideal choice for backend development, as it offers a great deal of flexibility in terms of server options, an intuitive user interface, and fast deployment cycles. Developers have access to virtual private servers (VPS) and dedicated servers, allowing them to customize the server according to their specific needs, from the size and type of hardware to the operating system and software installed. Additionally, the wide range of pre-configured options allows for quick setup and deployment, making it ideal for automated deployments. These features make DigitalOcean one of the best choices for backend development, enabling developers to develop and deploy applications rapidly.
Cons
I dislike that DigitalOcean does not offer as many services as some of their competitors. They are making a great effort to add more services, but they are still behind in comparison to other cloud providers.

The wonderful community, fantastic features, and startup-friendly
When compared to other goods on the market, DigitalOcean is a cheap product. The user interface is simple, and the step-by-step instructions make it straightforward for beginners to understand. It offers a number of unique features, and users only pay for what they actually use. Amazon is pricey and has a complicated user interface. DigitalOcean is easy to use, controllable, and makes it straightforward to set up servers without incurring additional fees or other hassles.
Pros
It's incredibly simple to use the pre-configured VM templates for common software, which frees up your time for other important tasks. You can stop worrying about these things and needing to perform recovery tests on a regular basis thanks to automated VM backups and point-in-time recovery for databases.
Cons
I wish there was a more effective method for automatically provisioning individuals from specific nations. I didn't like that in order to prove my identity, I had to provide a photo of my face and my ID. I realise it's a security measure, but I'm sure there are other providers who can get around it better. That almost prevented people from getting started.

DigitalOcean Review
My overall experience has been top-notch, we have never had any problem using it from day one and i highly recommend it.
Pros
What I like most about DigitalOcean are its ease of use and user-friendly interface. DigitalOcean provides a simple and intuitive control panel that makes it easy for users to create and manage their resources, such as Droplets, spaces, load balancers, and more. This can be beneficial for users who are new to cloud computing or who want to avoid the complexity of other cloud providers.
Cons
The only throwback I have with DigitalOcean is that it may not have as many features and services as some of the larger cloud providers, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. DigitalOcean focuses mainly on providing simple, easy-to-use solutions for developers and small to medium-sized businesses, and may not have as many specialized services or advanced features as some of the larger providers. But am sure they are working on adding more features soon.
