It was easy to learn how to use it (and I have been using it within a tutoring app already so I was looking to find a whiteboard that was similar to that). The children adapt easily to using the tool bar with their stylus pen. The Co-Browser is THE BEST tool and makes it so easy to collaborate with students. I also love how the everything I do in the space with a student STAYS in the space so we can work on it the next time and the student can see it between sessions. The Lessonspace support team is also fantastic. They are quick to respond and always adding new features and tools. > > **Cons**: There are a few minor things that could make the user experience more streamlined. For example, when you select a new color for the pen tool, the color box doesn't automatically go away and sometimes it blocks where you are trying to write. The video quality is also quite poor and blurring the background makes it REALLY bad. Sometimes the site seems to lag - especially during peak tutoring hours (4pm - 6pm EST) which can make session tough. Lastly, when you share screen, you cannot see the video of the student unless you pop out the video - yes, it is a simple work around, but it would be nice if it was automatic like Zoom. There are lots of work around and multiple ways to do thing in Lessonspace, so nothing has been a big issue. > > Overall, it has been great\! The platform has come a long way since we first started using it and you can tell the company and team is dedicated to making the best tool and experience possible - which is greatly appreciated\! Being able to integrate Lessonspace into our scheduling platform, Teachworks, makes starting sessions super simple and keeps everything in one place. The video and voice functionality is exceptional. The tools provided on the whiteboards are comprehensive, almost too much so without a good play around, but the basics are all where I would expect them to be. The chat function allows me to easily share links and files with pupils, and vice versa. The screen-sharing feature is a godsend, as one can actively see what a pupil is doing and intervene before frustration kicks in. Overall, I am very comfortable using this product. > > **Cons**: There are lots of tools buried within certain menus, such as the library. It would be nice if there was a quick reference sheet to see all the features in a larger menu, with a brief explanation of how they work. Maybe a link to a pdf would be useful directly from the spaces whiteboards themselves. The other thing that would be nice, is if there could be an option to smooth out text and images drawn with the pen tool. In an ideal world, everyone would have a graphics tablet to write on, but most pupils do not and often, the pen tool helps layout maths questions in a way the text tool cannot do. So a feature that could be toggled on and off for pen smoothing would be lovely. My biggest gripe is that there will be times that I am working with a pupil on a different tab, not directly linked to lessonspace, and then the voice times out. It would be nice to have an option to set a custom timeout value. > > Generally, I am very happy with it.
