What a terrible POS software.

The customer service reps were always very friendly and helpful but sometimes it took up to 45 minutes for a problem to get resolved and they would have to be called almost daily.

Pros

Pros? Oof. I have to say I don’t have many good things to say about HarborTouch. Probably the only thing it has going for it is the ease of use. That’s it.

Cons

Garbage software. It constantly freezes up or needs to be restarted or “updated”. Our tablet would never stay connected to the brain of the system which means we would have to call everyday for them to fix it. I would NOT recommend any company get this POS software. Buyer beware!

Worst company ever

The worst company I’ve dealt with in over 30 years in the restaurant business. Horrible people.

Pros

Nothing. The people that work for them are horrible.

Cons

Not a software problem. That lies with their horrible employees

As others have said, Rip Off Artists

Pros

It's fine. I really have no problem with the actual software,.

Cons

Somehow they lost our paperwork (seriously, in this day and age, actual PAPER work) to cancel three times, so they just went ahead and kept charging us for three years, though we were no longer receiving services. When I asked what we were paying for, I was told that it was a fee to "keep the account" open. A number of fake reviews this company takes and the frankly antagonistic way they deal with customers is gross.
it's more in how the rest of the company handles itself. They're the mean kid who says "well the rules say" and use them to treat people terribly. If enough people complain that something isn't clear, why not change it? Instead, Harbortouch uses the confusion (that they create) to get more money. Especially sad since they mostly work with small businesses - these are people, Harbortouch, not just dollar signs.

Worst POS contract on the market

RUN away as fast as you can! So many good POS systems out there, this is NOT one of them.

Pros

We had it for 4 years, it was down more than it functioned.

Cons

They trick you with the contract, giving you a 3 year renewal for the processing fees (which you must use Harbortouch for) and a 4 year renewal on the POS operating system. If you do the math, you cannot ever get out of your contract.

I'm disappointed

Be careful, this company is a scam, they give you promises that the help is efficient and fast, but you can be 30 minutes waiting for the support and you may not receive the call back from them, they tell you that it is a 30-day trial without risk and without payment, but it is not true, they charge you 27:59 for processing within the 30-day trial period and if you are not satisfied with the system or customer support and want to return it, they charge you a fee of 250 dollars for sending it back, if it is without risk, why do I have to pay for that? , They really did not comply with what they said at the beginning, when you sign the contract you are screwed, this happened to me

Harbortouch, Do not Bother.

Overall experience was not Good. Would present hidden fees all through out 3 years of contract.

Pros

It was easy to use for the most part. Good software.

Cons

The software is too pricey for a small business.

Super high hidden fees & bad business

I reviewed my fees and contacted them to cancel my service. After a long time trying to tell me that my tear rate was set to high by them and that I'm a valued merchant. The rep got upset that she couldn't convince me to keep the service. SHE SAID "WELL, I'LL SEND YOU A CANCELLATION FORM BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY US $1260 TO CANCEL YOUR CONTRACT!' What a horrible way to do business. High Fees and bad Business.

Pros

I wish I had a pro other then I have 21 months left on my contract to get rid of them.

Cons

They show you up front how much your fee of 2.5, 2.8% is when in fact they are charging more then a 14 - 18% overall. Not to mention their yearly fee!

A Total Nightmare! Overcharges and Bogus Fees

Our experience with Harbortouch has been horrible.They have charged us fees above what was agreed to, and charged bogus PCI fees, which no reputable bank charges.

To get refunds from them is like pulling teeth. Our merchant ID is 18515325. Example: Looking at the December 2016 statement, I had total transactions in the amount of $802.34. Of this amount, $595.54 were debit transactions.

Of the total of $802.34, I was charged 9% of my total. These alleged charges of "authorization" and "other" are included in the processing fees, not in addition to. Both their regional manager and their sales rep promised that any rates from other banks would be matched by Harbortouch.

Complete BS! Also, their CEO basically told me I was stuck in a contract and no refunds for overcharges would be made. By the way, this so called "free" POS system costs us highly, in addition to their outrageous fees.

Also, there contract protects them from filing suit in your local courts, and that you wave class action status.Would a reputable company need this?

Absolutely The Worst POS & "Customer Service" Avoid At All Costs

Pros

If you are into S&M and like torture,​ this is the system for you otherwise run away.

Cons

The customer service is lie after lie run around after run around.

The system constantly breaks, it doesn't have the most basic features​ that every POS company has been providing for nearly 2 decades.

I own 7 restaurants and this by far was a huge mistake, it costs more money​ in time and labor then what its worth.

Stay away-run away

They have “Fixed” my system over and over. It keeps loosing buttons off of the menu. They cannot find a fix. Needless to say I have lost faith in the system and I do not know if my reports are correct of not.

Zero-zip , don’t trust the FREE, you get what you pay for.

Cons

Everything, cannot trust the system, remember you get what you pay for.

Like a car that always breaks down!!! DON'T FALL FOR IT RUN.

I THOUGHT I WAS GETTING A GOOD DEAL BUT I WAS VERY WRONG. DONT TRUST THE SALES GUYS THEY DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE SYSTEM. THEY ARE JUST VERY GOOD AT SELLING!

ALWAYS BREAKS DOWN!
Online accessing for reporting is practically nonfunctioning (takes like 30 min to pull any report) super slow, for that, I rather just go to the store and print it from there.
Hassle to get any equipment replaced that breaks.

Beware of Harbortouch

The first month was great and everything happened just as the salesperson said it would. The second month was hell. They arbitrarily changed my billing from monthly to daily without telling me, deducting various amounts from our checking account without invoicing. This caused more than $600 in overdraft fees. Even after I fixed all this with the bank and stipulated to Harbourtouch what I would accept and not accept in writing, they did it again! This time it caused $210 in overdraft fees. Finally, their retention department changed my account to monthly and I have one more shot at fixing this to get more than $200 in money being held in limbo. I can't settle my register until I have money in the bank and know they aren't deducting until everything is through.

Pros

The fact that they provided a cash register too and all of it was already programmed.

Cons

They hold my money from deposits without notification. They put a 48 hour hold on my deposits, but take out their pay on that money within 24 hours. This caused significant overdrafts, which Harbortouch wouldn't help with or accept responsibility for.

Very powerful for the money

Overall my experience has been good and I would not hesitate to reccomend them to a friend

Pros

I like that they have.an option that is designed specifically for my industry.

Cons

The price is a little more than some of the tablet systems depending on how many printers, etc. but the functionality is much better.

Buyer beware

This was a nightmare, no support, overbilled, over promised, and has cost me thousands due to their faulty software and lack of support, well after I waited on hold forever they didn't seem to know what they were doing. each time I called it took me almost 2 hours.

Lies, lies, lies!!!

They promised to match the 1.69% I pay with Payanywhere but after all their fees their actual rate is over 8%!! That is crazy, they lie and charge fees for everything they can make up and charge way more than their contract says that they will. They will tell you that somewhere in their contract it says that they can raise their prices anytime. DO NOT believe them when they say they will match a competitors price. All lies.

All Around Best POS System and Customer Service

Every time I call the customer service line, they are always so helpful. The POS never fails us and always keeps up with our volume.

Pros

I love how easy and user friendly. Everything is self explanatory but if you have a question their customer service is always so helpful and knowledgeable.

Cons

I wish the receipt paper wasn't so long. going through double the amount with the new card/chip reader.

Worst Customer Service

Pros

We struggled to make contact with anyone at this business for years and finally threw in the towel and is still causing a headache.

Cons

This is the worst customer service ever experienced. If you're able to get someone to answer you get transferred around. We have been trying to cancel this service for over 6 months now and NO ONE will answer or return emails but they sure don't have a problem getting a bill out which is dated 2 weeks back. Very unprofessional and ridiculous business.

There are no pros to using this system at all beside the fact that sometimes it starts up that is really it

Cons

Worst POS system out there had our money we made in credit on hold and would give us a reason why lost money in credit card sales because of them let alone the days spent on the phone with the company being transferred to different people every couple of minutes and being on hold whenever they didn't have a answer to me if you own a resturant and in need of a POS system stay away from this company it's hard to use very laggy and have terrible customer support. It stinks that used this POS system because I lost a lot of money using it.

Not satisfied

Harbor touch kept our first almost 3 weeks credit card sales and have lied to us over and over and over again about it! They owe us $2,300 and have promised us at least 6 times that the check had been cut and was in the mail, then said they would overnight it, then said they would direct deposit it... all lies! All we’ve gotten from them is one lie after another but still not one cent of our $2,300

Major Regret

Not a day goes by that something doesn't go wrong with this system. The hardware has failed often. They replace it, but certainly a hassle. The functionality isn't there. They told me I could control it remotely via their website. False. They told me I'd save money on credit card processing. False. This has been nothing but trouble since day one. And here I am under contract

Not a thing. Less than zero pros. There are no positives to this software.

Cons

Tech support is a joke. This POS has to be rebooted all of the time and will just crash in the middle of a lunch rush. It hasn't worked in weeks... so very annoying. They tell me every time that they cant help me and it's an issue on my end when literally everything (Phones, Tablets, Computers) in my building work and have zero connection issue. It is always this POC (piece of CRAP).

stay away/ impossible to cancel

impossible to cancel service/ they kept debiting my account

nothing at all/ other than it generally worked

Cons

they are the worst I have ever seen/ once you sign up they will make it impossible to cancel. Be aware and stay away

Harbortouch

I am putting the horrible experience behind and trying to move forward. Lost lots of money. The free trail not free. You will end up getting charge at the end.

Pros

Nothing
There is nothing good about Harbortouch, from the sales people to the Tech, and system has many issues.

Cons

Functionality, not accurate
Orders won’t print always in kitchen or bar. Not charging right amount. Double prints. Many other issues.

Rip off!!!!

Worst mistake ever made! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! Expect much higher charges than promised by sales reps

Pros

Great promotional offers, only to find out they are nothing like the sales rep promised.

Cons

Constantly crashing. Must call and wait on hold multiple times a week just to activate the system. Complete junk

Unethical billing practices

The best thing was cancelling the service.

The worst pos system!!!!

Avoid this system!!!!

Pros

Nothing good at all!!! The worst pos system in the world!!!! They try to hold your money

Cons

They approve the payment but hold the transaction don’t give the money to us. They charge much more than the rate they promised

Great Program

Pros

Very user friendly. Drop down menus are very clear and easy to use

Cons

Setting the system up is very time consuming. You need someone that is very computer literate. No one sets it up for you and you spend a lot of time on the phone with customer service. If you have the patience, its worth it once its set up

Not so in love.....

Our system has been in place for 24 months. It has gone down on a Friday night and left me hanging until 3am = loss of sales. The pre authorization process has left me holding over $1400 in uncollected credit card transactions = loss of profits. They fail to inform us of industry changes or HT changes that will affect us adversely. The original programing was HORRIBLE and I was required to learn how to fix it without ANY printed support materials. I took 3 months to reprogram BEFORE it could be put to use. = loss of time to focus on what I DO as an expert. The company has improved the product over the last 24 mo. but the improves are put in place with no education to the consumer. AND NO - there is NO integration to quickbooks..... I have been asking how to do this since we put it in place and no one knows the answers. I am smarter than I was day 1 - now I know what I need and am searching for a replacement system. (4 industry competitors bought the same software - we are all looking to replace. We are a bar grill setting.)

Great Product!

I cannot say enough good things about Harbortouch and the CEO Jared Isacmann and his team. I've used other POS systems and they just do not compare. Customer Services is available 24/7. The rates are competitive. What more do you want? They will help you work out any issues you might have. No, i'm not a relative of anyone in the company...just someone who's used Harbortouch. I batch out everynight w/o an issue. I always get paid and on time..so I'm just really confused.Did you even try to work out your differences with Harbortouch or did you just come on Yelp and bash them. Anyway, folks do your research of other products and companies. I can assure you Harbortouch offers one of the best deals out there! Give this company a try. The negative reviews are possibly from other competitors. If you are really feeling at your overwhelmed and lost reach out to Jared he will help you or link you with someone who will help you. Promises, promises

The screens are hard to read. The program is not intuitive at all. There is no way to understand what to do without hands-on training, which we requested, but only after we told them we quitting their company. Their tech support told us that they could only help us after 5:00 p.m. "if the system was on fire". How's that for customer service! After 17 calls about various problems (I'm not kidding), we told them to take their system back and give us our money back. They immediately charged our account the remainder of the contract term -- $5000. We went to the Better Business Bureau three times, but Harbortouch still wouldn't even consider giving us some or all of our money back even though they failed to provide us any real servic. Beware -- when we told them about the promises made by the guy that sold us the system, they said they didn't have to uphold his promises because he was "just an independent salesman." Run!

Nothing. There is not one good thing I can say about my experience with Harbortouch. Nothing !

Cons

Complete garbage. System didn't work for 6 WEEKS after install. No one could figure out the problem. Turned out to be a software malfunction. Wasted countless hours of my time on hold, or speaking with someone who always acted like i had no clue what i was talking about. I had to tell them how to fix the issue.

Horrible experience. The product is not even close to what what sold to us. Poor customer...

It was easy to learn, but not worth it.

Pros

It was easy to get signed up with Habortouch. The salesman seemed to be on top of things. The system is easy to use.

Cons

They raised the prices after only 2 weeks. They promise to look into issue and return calls, but they never do. Their online ordering is faulty and they do not know why, so our restaurant is losing money daily. There seems to be no way out of our contract.

Terrible from the beginning. Lying salesman. Incompetent programmers. Terrible customer...

Pros

The only thing I appreciated about this system is that it was not on an iPad. Other then that, I have nothing good to say.

Cons

We were supposed to have a 30 day trial period. I even have an email from the salesman confirming that. However they are still trying to charge us an early termination fee. Absolutely terrible company!

Harbor Touch is A Fraud.

Head and heart aches. Depression.

Pros

Terrible software. Always freezing up. Horrible customer service. The software is very bad. This corrupt company should be shut down. PLEASE do not use Harbor Touch you will regret it.

Cons

Unprofessional, dishonest, corrupt company all levels. Software does not work to much confusion. Sales people do not know system.

Worst Ever

Cons

There wasn't enough space on the tabs yet plenty on the screen . You could only see three of your orders at one time and it wasn't easy to make separate checks

terrible...run away!

processing fees are through the roof...tech support is helpful 1/5 times i call to address an issue. their website that houses all of their reports and back end stuff goes down on a regular basis. the machines themselves get extremely hot and overheat periodically.

i made a terrible choice selecting this pos for my restaurant...can't wait to get out of my contract and get a new system...seriously, do NOT buy this crap for your restaurant/bar!

Needs a better sales team

Pros

It’s fairly easy to navigate; The software itself is not difficult to utilize.

Cons

There are a lot of things that are not revealed during their sales pitch. A lot of hidden fees or things that are Conveniently Not spoken about during the sales pitch.

can't wait to find a new system

My top complaints - cost for merchant services
- every time I call customer service I get different answers depending on who I get and often the issue is not solved
- the customer rewards system, based on points per dollar spent, is not manually adjustable. Customers receive points when paying with points, causing a loss in profit and this has yet to be corrected.

Getting them to respond, forget it.

Pros

Nothing, Do not expose your custmer base to this. Very Negitive experince.

Cons

Had a 2nd lead with Harbor Touch, and again got blown off.
