Streamlined and Effective Time Manager Solution

After reviewing several products that had too many bells and whistles, this was a streamlined product for our small office staff of 17.

Pros

This is user friendly, easy set up and customer service response is fast and effective.

Cons

We did not choose to complete all of the HR pages since it was a duplication of our general HR pages.

Solid, customizable and scalable, platform for time and employee management.

Overall we've been very happy. We've been a customer back to the Time Off Manager brand. Over the years I've evaluated other platforms, but have continued to find PurelyHR the best platform for our needs, with the best ROI for u. We've continued to renew our subscription year after year because of our appreciation of the tool.

Pros

It has a lot of features that can offer complete customization for the needs of the business. I specifically like the modular pricing structure; allowing a business to choose what features and functions they need and not requiring that business to have to pay for what they don't. I also appreciate that they offer a non-profit discount, which is really the only reason we can afford to use the service. I've also found their customer service very responsive.

Cons

I wish they had a dedicated app to make it easier for employees to access their time off and time sheets. I also wish they had some additional customization for schedules of each person to allow a better sync between time off and time sheets.

Purely HR Feedback

When we purchased it originally, it met our expectations. Over the last few years, it's lagging. It isn't keeping up with technology. Recently, we experienced an issue where we missed a number of birthday and anniversary reminders because the system stopped working. Nobody from Purely HR alerted us, although they were clearly aware of this issue when we raised it. Poor communication about an outage.

Pros

It's relatively easy to use, and it has some functionality that we wanted when we were looking for an HR program. The auto-reminder function for birthdays and anniversaries is helpful

Cons

It's a bit clunky. We originally wanted to use the performance management section for our lawyers and legal assistants. Unfortunately, we were never able to get it to work for our lawyers (because we have to solicit feedback from more than 10 partners. We also stopped using it for assistants, this year, because the process seemed a bit difficult to manage. If 3 people were reviewing one person's performance, the first or second would inevitably choose "FINALIZE" which then required an admin to go back and re-open the process before others could add their input.

PurelyHR product

Overall, I am happy with this product. It has helped us to better plan for coverage, especially over the holidays.

Pros

I like that you can code different time off types with colors, then look at the calendar to see who is off/why. This really helps with planning! I also like being able to set up all the different time off categories, and length of service plans.

Cons

The reporting is a little 'cumbersome' to me. I would like to see a report that concisely lists the name, and then how much of each time off type left at end of year, without a different line listing each one.

Efficient Employee Management, Great Time-off Tools

Great - would totally recommend to other businesses with 5-50 employees.

Pros

Love the time-off function in general - great overall tracking of accruals, time off policies, and reports are easy to pull and so helpful!

Cons

The timesheet function would better suit our company with a more streamlined interface. We don't need project/scope specific work logging, instead just capturing the hours and the site address is what we need. Too detailed in my opinion, but still works!

Good, could be Great

It has been good so far, I wish when we implemented the system there was more time going through customization and all of the different features, I feel like I am learning more by trial and error

customizable to a certain extent, it is very useful for staff to have booking autonomy but also have certain controls implemented

Cons

Difficulty implementing our various vacation plans at times and sometimes support is not very helpful, lack of urgency in responding to requests for support

Just Get it!

We have been using PurelyHR for several years and haven't even thought of trying to find another solution for managing time off.

Pros

Ease of use, employees like the transparency and being able to submit their own requests. Keeps us organized as a team and helps us manage time off requests.
We like the option of being able to limit number of employees off during certain times of the year to make sure we have adequate staffing.

Cons

Multi-Day requests can be a bit tricky especially if it is around a holiday.

It allows a common understanding of what is going on, schedule wise, for the whole office.

Cons

It can be a little slow to load and navigate at times. Perhaps a more integrated dashboard could be useful.

Great product to record time-off.

We've been using this product for 5+ years and are very happy with the product as well as the cost.

Pros

Ease of use and easy to set up. Staff really like this product.

Cons

Some difficulty setting of holidays and other time off, probably because it's only done once a year. Some staff work more hours per day than others, so it's kind of tricky to set up a universal system.

vacation tracker

Overall a good and simple program once you get the hang of using it. There is a lot of features we didn't implement but looked to be straight forward and simple as well.

Pros

We used PurelyHR strictly for time off tracking.

Cons

Learning the system is a little tricky as you have to load the profile in a few different screens. The termination screen is also limiting 'OTHER' would be a great option but your forced into a box of a handful of reasons. We dont PurelyHT for term tracking so wasnt a big deal for us.

Highly Recommend PurelyHR

No complaints - system meets all of our organizational needs and its easy to use. I previously worked in HR / Payroll and used the system daily. It was very easy to create new user profiles and implement time tracking.

Highly recommend!

Whenever I'm not sure how to do something, there's a great library of tutorial videos. A couple of times I needed help and their customer support was great! They answered me quickly and gave me what I needed. My employees like the modern look and it's very easy to navigate, and our management team likes the reporting capabilities.

Pros

The ease of use, my employees love it and so do I.

Cons

I can't think of anything that I don't like about it.

Has mentioned before we have been using PurelyHR for 10+ year and we are quite satisfied we would recommend for time-off.

Pros

Simplicity and customization are made quite easy for administrator and employee's onboarding. We currently only use the time tracking portion of PurelyHR but we have been using for more than 10 years with great satisfaction. The cost has been quite positive as a not for profit.

Cons

As far as time-off module goes, I think there's many reporting options and sometimes its hard to find on the first go the exact report type you need but there are some many options that what you are looking for does exist.

Purelyhr review of servces

Not great. It rarely does what it is supposed to.

Pros

The timesheets are relatively simple to use

Cons

You can not remove a holiday after the time sheets are out. It cant handle the hours our staff do, so it messes up every single holiday stat pay. It never accrues properly.

PurelyHR has been a pleasure.

I have had nothing but positive experiences in all the years that I have used it. The customer service team is very helpful with setup and helping make changes when the company moved from earned time to accrued time.

Pros

I appreciate the ease of use for both administrators and employees.

Cons

I wish the site had a mobile app for employees to access on their phones.

A great tool!

I brought Purely HR in years ago and it has made my job so much easier. We do not have a full time HR department so tracking PTO and planning PTO is so much easier with Purely HR. No complaints from PRO!

Pros

We are a small business so Purely HR offers us a reasonably priced option to provide time off transparency to our team members so we dont end up with too many people off per day.

Cons

Nothing in particular. My complaints is I dont know enough about all the features they offer but weve had Purely HR for a long time and my entire company likes using it

Why I would recommend Purely HR

It is a user friendly program and the support team is excellent

Pros

I like that it is easy to use, and has a lot of options

Cons

I wish they had an app, it would make things so much easier for staff to update from home.

Always a 5-star Experience with PurelyHR!

My overall experience with PurelyHR since we began with PurelyHR in Oct 3, 2011 has been excellent. They have always assisted me whenever I have contacted them with a question or an issue. Over the years, PurelyHR has grown to the point where there are longer wait times, so there have been times where I have taken the other option of emailing them about the issue, and they do respond within a day or so with a response. That way I also have a written record which I can refer back to.

Pros

What I like most is that PurelyHR is an easy-to-use system where specific time-off requests and approvals or rejections are managed and recorded for both the employee and employer.

Cons

Calculations are the least of I like to do, but calculations are absolutely required for the system to work accurately.

Easy user interface.

My tenure with it was short, but it was useful in the time that we had it. We migrated to ADP, otherwise we would have stayed using the tool.

Pros

I thought the navigation was easy and the user interface clear. It was not a product where I needed a ton of support to navigate.

Cons

As an admin, pulling vacation balances for the team members always took a little bit of reviewing. It wasn't as clear as other platforms I have used in the past.

Good system but could use some improvements

Overall, it's been fine. It's streamlined the process of asking for time off and allowing the employee to see what they have and have not requested.

Pros

Most of the set-up is easy and managing the time off for employees is simple.

Cons

I do not like that carry over time and the way it shows an employees current vacation. It is confusing and is hard to figure out. Some of the placement of the settings once you are up and running and need adjustments is also hard to locate.

A modular solution for low requirement users

Pros

Stable, I've never known an outage, easy for staff to use.

Cons

MFA is hidden behind a paywall; so many settings pages for similar things; inability to customize all time off types but have to conform to how purely believes a business should run, UX has odd design choices that make pop ups require a vertical scroll unnecessarily, lack of integrations, cannot do scheduling at all

Happy User

This is a great product with quick support. We have a 20 person office and it helps us tremendously to keep up with accrued time. The settings are customizable to a complex time off accrual structure too.

Pros

This is a perfect product for our 20 person office. We are able to keep up with accrued time with ease and it is user friendly.

Cons

We have had intermittent issues with getting e-mails when there are two approvers for a single employee.

Purely HR - Love it!

We have been using Purely HR for about 10 years and have had zero problems with the program. Employees like it because they can just request time off on their phone no matter where they are.

Pros

Purely HR is very easy for staff and managers to use and also administration.

Cons

There really is nothing we don't like about Purely HR!
Other than it would be nice to have it on an app on your phone or ipad.

I would highly recommend PurelyHr for anyone looking to start using a time & attendance program

I would highly recommend to any business looking for a reasonable priced program. It may not have every available option you can get elsewhere. But we found it covers off what we need, without the big price tag.

Pros

PurelyHR is incredibly user friendly and provides us what we need for our payroll. It tracks accurate time off accruals and time off used. The timesheet module is very easy to use for both admin and staff.
For the services it provides you can’t beat the price.

Cons

My only real dislike is that the remote access through a phone is very limited.

Works well for our situation.

Cons

Performance module could use some additional options, and it can be difficult for new managers to use.

Uploading user files has to be done one at a time.

Affordable Solution

Overall the platform looks nice. The main pain point is carryover days.

Pros

It is fairly easy to use. We can easily upload to our calendar from the approval email.

Cons

It doesn't work well with Carryover Days. We will be doing lots of manual work in order for it to work properly.

Decent HRIS

User friendly with awesome customer support

Have been using for 12 years and it is very user friendly. Customer support, when I have had to contact someone, has been extremely helpful!

Pros

This web based software is very easy to use and navigate. I have only had to contact customer support a couple of times since 2013 and the quick assistance was very much appreciated.

Cons

Not having a mobile app would be the only negative.

PurelyHR is a great product at a great price!

PurelyHR is a great product overall. It helps our company manage time off and timesheets in a great way for all! Very easy to use and at a reasonable price. Their support is always very quick and helpful as well.

Pros

PurelyHR is so easy to use and such a big asset to our company and employees.

Cons

Really nothing it is a great product! I guess the only thing would be that I would like to see the admin have the ability to change holiday time on the timesheets manually if needed.

PurelyHR company experience

I am very satisfied with the experience and cost of the PurelyHR tool. Seem to be easy to use/operate for our simple needs. Wondering if we are actually using it to our company’s potential.

Pros

I like the easy of use of the organizational tool. I can quickly input PTO information while also track my employees time-off visually through a simple but effective calendar view.

Cons

I haven’t been able to have it easily connect to our current HR software (Gusto) as a supplemental 3rd party software.

Love this calendar and features

Overall great will continue using. Works wonderful for our setup

Pros

Display of calendar including color coordinating different office locations. Also like how full days off display differently than partial days.

Cons

Paid Vacation and Special Event Icons! They're dull black and white/gray and small in the corner. Please consider offering color version or something that stands out more!!!

Great for Small Business

Very good so far, I am hoping this is a long-term partnership!

Pros

Feature packed and easy user interface. This is a great product for a small business to get many of the features in much larger HR software packages.

Cons

Just getting the initial invoice paid was the worst part and that didn't take long :)
