Lavu my experience
Again they could run the market on the pos world if they would get it together with the lack of truth and accountability for what was said by sales reps. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING.

They have so much potential if they could get the communication down. It’s been one person says this and one person says that. Basically don’t believe anything they say in the sales pitch unless it’s in crystal clear writing. They will say anything to get the sell.

I had switched from Touch Bistro to Lavu. Lavu is 100 times less stressful to learn and use.

Surprise charges - once I have issues, then I took multiple tries to get feedback.

Horrible. Absolutely, incredibly the worst customer service ever. I feel stupid for trying this company. They lied about everything just to get the sale. Do NOT go here !!

Do not trust Lavu with payment information
My longer story is under BF on the BBB website. [sensitive content hidden]
But essentially, after a miserable year of trying to get Lavu to stop incorrectly and excessively charging my credit card. I switched away with a zero balance. Then this morning, a year and a half later, got a new bill for $188 which the customer service representative refused to cancel. When will they stop?
Pros
For a short term, I saved money on processing with Lavu/PayPal over when Square increased their rate, until Lavu started randomly charging amounts to my credit cards.
Cons
Relentless billing issues. New charges without disclosure or agreement. Absolutely incompetent customer service. Less functional product than other POS.

Everything is working smoothly and the system is so easy to operate.

After going through the set up of a rival product 2 years ago and spending 2 years using that system, onboarding and use of Lavu has been the best experience. The onboarding timeline was great to follow along as we were going through the steps. They were able to create exactly what I wanted for the menus. We had to use a system that is totally usable on WiFi. This caused a couple of headaches during installationb Using the system has been very intuitive. Training our team is super easy.
Cons
For the most part, we haven't had a bad experience. Even with the difficulties installing the 2 wireless printers everyone handled the process and the glitches with professionalism even when it took us 4 hours to get it right.

The customer service at SpotOn was terrible. They didn't have a good solution to our WiFi situation. It was almost impossible to get refunds for our customers. Sometimes it would take in excess of 10 days and multiple emails to get the refund processed. I could do full refunds, but partials had to be done through their customer service team. I would have to include the SpotOn support team, the supervisor and our sales person on every email to get keep them on top of it. Even then I never would hear if things were taken care of by the extra participants on the email.Switched From

Hidden Gem
Bumpy. But they hit a home run by the time we were all set to go. Went live a week later than they planned but a week before we planned. The entire team was super helpful in the process and delt with a really picky customer with a really large menu with patience.

Sky is the limit on what you can do with the point of sale with the proper knowledge. ASK QUESTIONS. They will teach you anything you would like to know or do it for you in just a phone call.

There were a few bumps in the set up that made me nervous. Almost bailed out on it before even starting. They were able to fix the issues, get the account set up correctly and get the process moving back on track.

It was a brutal set up that started Sept 20th and was not completed until yesterday. Took hours of work daily since day 1 to put out fires and get everything ironed out the way it should have been done initially. If it wasn't for her we would have lost this deal.

Worst small business pos system ever
We bought into Lavu when we first opened because it seemed user-friendly and fairly simple. We really only have a few products, so it should be a. no-brainer right? NO. Unfortunately for us, we integrated it into our online menu and electronic menu and it's tied into everything on the back end. So the MANY. MANY times we thought about switching to another POS system, it just seemed like too much of a hassle. Well, here we are again, absolutely regretting sticking with them. So tired of their horrible customer service, which consists of waiting on hold forever and eventually getting connected with someone overseas. No one ever knows what you're talking about and if they transfer you, you have to start all over from scratch, including your name and what company you're from and what the problem is. Their fees are high. Their technology is outdated. Their upgrades actually make it harder and make it take longer to check a customer out. It is ridiculous that amount of steps you have to take to have a customer pay.

Nothing now. They have gotten significantly worse over the years.

Customer service is horrible. Updates are horrible. Them keeping you in the loop? Horrible.

We, as a business, Love our new system..I would recommend this system to anyone. We was treated by respect and professionalism from are 1st phone call.Beginning with basic information: explaining everything in detail, sending us videos and answering all our questions. We researched many other POS systems and LUVA was hands-down our first choice because of their fast response and the details they offered.

Everything! It's so user friendly. Reports are amazing. Makes book keeping a breeze. This system will track everything from sales, inventory, hours worked into great detailed reports. Our bartenders love it. Screen are easily read, and so easy to use.
Cons
There are a few problems we found with splitting and merging tickets. A simple call to tech and was fixed with in minutes. We also have a few things that we can't charge taxes or credit card fees on. You will have call tech to remove these these charges.

Not for the faint of heart
POOR. Much was left to the user to setup and install. We got through that without too much difficulty but we have a hardware issue that the “no-service” department wants to treat as a software setup issue. After two days of customer “no-support” we determined that we had a hardware issue. The LAVU no-customer service department fix was for us to drive the hardware 2.5 hours each way to a service center to have them repair a printer that was not used 1 time.

Wow! What a great experience switching to Lavu. After an eight year relationship with Toast we have upgraded to Lavu. As a very busy restaurant and bar we were nervous to make such a big change, especially in the beginning of "our season." We can't say enough wonderful things about our experience with Lavu and their incredible support staff. We got to spend the week with [sensitive content hidden]
and they confidently and patiently have trained our entire staff. It has been so helpful to have such a hands on experience. Every single question, request, and concern has been handled immediately. So far, my experience with Lavu has been great! My on boarding consultant, [sensitive content hidden] was absolutely tremendous. She had a lot of patience and explained everything on my level so I was able to understand! I have never had a POS system provider that walked you through step by step on how to hook the equipment up! That was such a relief! Support staff, oh my gosh, they call and check on you the next day to see if everything is working! Wow!

New customer for Lavu
Overall im pleasantly ok with the service. I did receive some back and forth on communication mishaps on what I was getting for going with Lavu. Other than that Im ok.

The ease of the customer service being able to add any options or changes I need on my POS system in real time. Also the fuctionality is pretty simple and easy to use.

Im noticing the system sometimes disconnects from the wifi, the POS cash terminal opens up when a customer is paying the entire order with a debit/credit card. Also sometime the cash resgister doesnt open on a cash transaction so we have had to use or register key to manually open the register.

Excellent restaurant POS!
Pros
Ease of use, different levels of access based on employee type, excellent customer service
Cons
Occassionally the app glitches and it creates mistakes on the server end that need to be untangled.

They have great customer service and are always available if you need help.

It’s easy to implement and low upkeep coat make it a win win system.

If the internet is down so is your ability to process cards if you process through Lavu.

Our business works better and is more transparent, we get more accurate pictures and we are able to work on items that will bring sales more easily.
Pros
We tried other POS systems but customizing was expensive and they didn't work as we wanted them to. Lavu system multi purpose-built with the features and reporting were right on and we were able to merge it to our own easily and they work great.
Cons
So far anything we have ran across we have been able to solve rather easily and smoothly. We haven't encountered a true negative.

Gets the job done!
As a business owner confident in presenting Lavu as a solution for their business, I have No concerns they can deliver a quality experience.
Pros
I can say I’ve tested the limits they will go to get the job done. After working with sales and tech support for 12 long hours the challenge was achieved. It was a very trying day but no one gave up until the job was done.
Cons
The payroll integration solution would help the value of the service.

I like it
So far so good. We are just getting started so not to sure how it will go back so far so good we have no complaints as far as the use.

Fees associated with product it's not until after you have the product do they introduce other associated fees that make little sense.

It is easy to train on and has has many key features that make it user friendly the only complaint i have is the printer issue

Its customizable and makes it so that it can be easily trained upon

It requires internet access for its use and wont.print a receipt if you are disconected
