> Unison is volunteer management software designed for organizations that need a simple, modern platform without the complexity of traditional volunteer management systems. Churches, schools, nonprofits, and community organizations use Unison to recruit, schedule, and communicate with volunteers — all from one centralized platform their team will actually use.

Getting Started Is Simple
Create a volunteer signup in minutes, customize it with your branding, and share a single link that gives volunteers visibility into every open opportunity. No complicated onboarding. Just a clean, intuitive interface that works the way your team already thinks about scheduling.

Volunteers Sign Up From Any Device
Unison is built mobile-first, so volunteers can browse opportunities and sign up from their phone, tablet, or desktop without friction. Custom signup questions let coordinators collect the information they need upfront, reducing back-and-forth before the event.

Automatic Reminders That Reduce No-Shows
Unison sends customizable email and text message reminders automatically before every shift. Coordinators set them once and Unison takes care of the rest — no manual follow-up needed.

Scheduling Tools Built for Real Coordinators
Drag-and-drop scheduling makes it easy to build and adjust shifts on the fly. Repeating assignments save time for recurring roles — set them once and they populate automatically going forward. Sub requests let volunteers find their own replacements when something comes up, removing that burden from the coordinator entirely.
Custom groups make it easy to segment volunteers by role, team, or program so the right people always see the right opportunities. Multiple administrators can share access so coordination doesn't fall on a single person.

Built-In Communication
Unison includes a built-in emailer so coordinators can message volunteers directly from the platform without switching tools. Send broadcast messages to all volunteers, a specific group, or just the people signed up for a particular shift. Email attachments let you share waivers, instructions, or documents directly with volunteers before they arrive.

Reporting and Visibility
Unison's centralized dashboard gives coordinators a clear, real-time picture of upcoming signups, who's confirmed, and where gaps need to be filled. Built-in hours reporting tracks volunteer participation over time, making it easy to recognize your most dedicated contributors, demonstrate program impact to stakeholders, and make smarter decisions about future scheduling and recruitment.

Directory Pages and Custom URLs
On the Team plan, organizations get a branded volunteer directory page with a custom URL and QR code — a single destination volunteers can bookmark to find and sign up for every available opportunity. This is especially useful for churches and nonprofits that want to make volunteering as visible and accessible as possible.

Who Uses Unison?
Unison is built for small to mid-sized organizations that want powerful volunteer coordination without enterprise-level complexity or cost. It's a strong fit for churches managing weekly service volunteers, schools coordinating parent volunteers across events, nonprofits running ongoing community programs, and any organization that depends on a reliable, engaged volunteer base to get things done.

Ad-Free on Every Paid Plan
Volunteers see a clean, professional experience every time they interact with your organization — no ads, no clutter.

Pricing That Scales With You
Unison offers a free tier to get started, with paid plans from $20/month. The Team plan at $44/month unlocks unlimited signups, repeating assignments, directory pages, custom URLs, QR codes, and SMS reminders — everything a growing organization needs to run a professional volunteer program.

Get started free today — no credit card required.

## Reviews

### "No more spreadsheets, automated reminders and subs\!" — 5.0/5

> **Raina** | *9 June 2026* | Religious Institutions | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: What I love most about Unison is how friction-free the signup process is for our volunteers. They don't have to create an account or remember another password just to claim a time slot—they click a link and enter their name and email. From the coordinator side, having all signups housed in one spot is a game-changer. Plus, the built-in reminders, open position emails, and sub requests COMPLETELY eliminate the manual back-and-forth reminders and phone calls to get people to volunteer I used to spend hours on every week. I literally set up my schedule, send it out once, and forget it\!
>
> **Cons**: While the interface is incredibly clean, I would love to see even deeper custom reporting features. The current dashboard is great for immediate visibility, but expanding the custom filtering and reporting capabilities would make things easier.
>
> Unison has completely replaced our messy spreadsheets and endless reply-all email chains. It is built perfectly for organizations like ours that rely on consistent, community-driven support but don't want to weigh down volunteers with heavy software. The interface is intuitive enough that even our less tech-savvy volunteers use it without any complaints. It helps us quickly fill spots and not have to worry about manually sending reminders or searching for subs.

### "So Much Better" — 5.0/5

> **Samantha** | *9 June 2026* | Nonprofit Organisation Management | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: I love how easy it is to use. Especially the emails where I can plug tokens\! I love that I can ask my volunteers to request their own subs.
>
> **Cons**: There is not anything that comes to mind. Truly. This is so much more user friendly than our last platform.
>
> This made our volunteer subbing SO MUCH BETTER. I feel like it is not intimidating for even our most technology-shy volunteers.

### "Very helpful, user-friendly tool for managing volunteers\!" — 5.0/5

> **Kevin** | *22 June 2026* | Nonprofit Organisation Management | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Great support team\! Everyone with Unison has been so helpful and ready to help tailor the product to our specific needs. It is affordable for our organization, and even the free version has many great features. No ads\! Very user friendly.
>
> **Cons**: The software is still in development so there are some features that still need some refining to work smoothly.
>
> Such a useful tool\! Our organization uses it every day to manage our volunteers and keep track of their hours of service.

### "The best free option we have found\!" — 5.0/5

> **Davin** | *9 June 2026* | Performing Arts | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: It is free, there are no ads, and it is SO quick and easy to create and send out a schedule to my usual volunteers, or post in emails so new people can sign up. Volunteers have no trouble signing up, reminders go out automatically, and all I have to worry about is making sure that I keep an eye on the schedule.
>
> **Cons**: Remembering to check to see if the spots are filled before an event. I am so grateful that they usually are\!
>
> As a very tiny nonprofit, we just need a few people each month to help us fulfil our mission. Unison is easy, quick, and beautiful. And, I have a record of who is involved\!

### "Double Thumbs-Up\!" — 5.0/5

> **John** | *23 June 2026* | Nonprofit Organisation Management | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: As the administrator, Unison was extremely easy to set up. My volunteers have found the sign-up interface very user-friendly.
>
> **Cons**: The limitation that only ten Opportunities are allowed at any one time was confusing. Customer Service clarified that this meant a maximum of ten Opportunities could be up and running at the same time - not that there was a cap on the total number of Opportunities within a set period of time.
>
> Over the years, I tried Google Forms, Microsoft 365, and SurveyMonkey, but each required several steps to create forms and manage volunteer sign-ups. From the start, it was clear that Unison was built by people who understood the needs of both administrators and volunteers.
