For a non-niche optometry office that sees mostly glasses, contact lenses, and medical office visits the charts are clean without a lot of cluttering of every single possible test. Of course there is an empty special testing section that you can add your own notes. IOP is charted in a graph so you can see trend without flipping back to previous visits. You can even email the patient their prescription and it records that this was done. The best is that it is easy for staff to learn to use because it is intuitive. Reports are many and detailed. Like being able to track number of patients seen and for what procedure, number of frames sold and which brands/manufacuturers, what percentage of patients are attribute to which third parties, production broken down by staff/doctor. > > **Cons**: It would be nice to have it integrated with VSP billing and glasses order entry since we use VSP so much, would reduce having to double entry and reduce input errors. Would also like to integrate the EOBs when VSP comes in so we can post to each item. Currently since we do this manually we only separate services and bulk materials. We could do it manually but not worth the time to do it manually. I found that filing insurance directly through insurance websites was easier than trying to deal with their complicated filing system and trizetto. > > **Cons**: The setup for the program is QUITE involved, and takes a lot of time. As the person who set up the program with the ECP people, I was lucky enough to be the only one who really knew how to use the program, which meant endless questions. > > Generally, the EHR is relatively easy once it's set up. This is the only patient management system we have used though, so I have nothing to compare. I know I did prefer to file insurance claims directly to the companies (via their portal) if possible, to save money and effort. The problem the unspoken stuff. You have to use their processing service (at the time it was called FullSteam) because "it's integrated." If you do not use this service (we don't run cards on the computer, we have an exterior machine), it's $200/mo which is crazy scammy. Also, when the doctor retired, we went through MONTHS of effort just trying to cancel. They first told me they couldn't cancel b/c I put my name on the form. Then they told me they couldn't take the 2nd one b/c they had heard the doctor had died, and so now they have to see a transfer of ownership. That's right folks. If your doctor dies, they will MAKE you send in a transfer of ownership, so they can redraft an agreement with the new owner, JUST to "offboard." We aren't even paying for the information to be retained because the office is CLOSING\! Also, if you want to keep it for "Read-Only Access," it's still $150.00/month or if you want your patient information downloaded, they charge $150/hour to do this. ----- ### "Great EHR for the price\!" — 5.0/5 > **Christopher** | *6 January 2022* | Medical Practice | Recommendation rating: 8.0/10 > > **Pros**: 1. Contact lenses are not up to date and need to be entered by the office manually. 3. Contact lens parameters are not input into the system.
