> BookStack is a free and open-source documentation platform focused on providing an easy-to-use user experience that is suitable for mixed-technical-skill environments.  At the center of BookStack are its pages, which hold documentation content and can be written using a simple WYSIWYG editor. Pages can then be organized within Books and Chapters, providing a familiar metaphor in respect to content organization features. Books can then be organized into Bookshelves. 

Built-in business features include a full RBAC permission system upon a range of authentication features include SAML2, LDAP, OIDC and email/password. MFA is used where needed with enforcement possible at a per-user level.

Editing features include a range of possible formats for a variety of use-cases, including tables, image management and code-block control. Drawings can be added using the built-in draw.io integration offering an immensely powerful range of diagramming features. BookStack allows customization to suit the brand where needed, including logo and brand color control. An API and webhook system provides easy extension and integration with other systems within the business.
