Easy way to take card payments
Pros
It's easy to use. the app is straightforward and connecting the card machine is simple. If you have a new enough mobile phone, you don't even need the card machine as you can just use your phone for tap to pay.
Cons
I don't really have any negatives. Of course everyone would want the fees to be less and the money to get to your account quicker but it does what I need it to do with no monthly fees or equipment rental etc.

Poor company! avoid like the plague, or use and pray you don't have a technical issue.
HAd to close shop for 9 days as they took so long to get back to me and resolve the issue. despite sending several emails and using the chat function. it appears each department, does not speak to each other creating more problems for users. really unprofessional company and they take no responsibility for their actions and lack of support

No Complaints, an effective product and service.
I've used SumUp in multiple businesses and often as a consumer. As a product and service, it's very fairly priced and makes card payment accessible to every business. I have no negatives, it is quick and easy to set up and tracking data and making notes on payments is simple.
Pros
It's simple to set up, simple to use, and the fees are very fair.
Cons
Initially when first using the product, it was challenging to set up phones with the card reader, but later updates have made this much simpler.

A great solution to speed up your business, with very little cons
Overall it helped us a lot to streamline our business activities and have a professional look accepting cards on the fly and also on our website. We are satisfied but support can be better (with less automation and more skilled agents
Pros
It's ease of access (for new users), ease of use of the whole platform and its terminals and pricing plans that greatly simplify the whole thing.
Cons
Its support is valid if you have commonly adressable issues, but if you have a specific need or problem to be solved you can get pretty frustrated pretty rapidly due to bots and slow response time.

Revolutionised our business pretty much
Very happy - this is a very versatile and powerful product.
Pros
The slick integration between EPOS and card payments, stock control, goodeats and reporting. The customisation options and intuitive interface are a lot slicker than other systems we've used.
Cons
We've found that some of the custom payment and cheque options including custom service charge amounts is slightly clunkier than other systems we've used.

Good value and a no-brainer for offline trading
Pros
The physical SumUp is sleek and looks good on display. I also like that there is no recurring subscription / service fee - you pay upfront for the card reader, and they deduct a reasonable fee from any transactions that are processed through their platform. Inexpensive and good value for even small traders. The battery also lasts a very long time on a charge and doesn't deplete even when left for longer periods.
Cons
The card reader will sometimes connect to other SumUps in the area. Not a huge problem since it will ask you to confirm whether the ID number is correct before you proceed, just a bit annoying when you have customers waiting.

Not as strong as other options currently on the market
Its a large buy in and not great customer service once you have signed up. It was all about the sale then hard to get any support. overall harder for small businesses than many other options out there.
Pros
The idea of this software is great. An easy effective way to start a a rewards program for your clients.
Cons
They sell you on their network. X amount of vendors and members in your area also use this software so they will market your business to these users and expand your reach offering deals to people that would be new clients to you. What the sales people forget to mention is that you will not be a part of this feature unless you sign up X amount of new users per week. Problem for my business is we have a large repeat clientele so hitting this large number to receive expanded marketing was not viable.

Do not buy if you’re in Australia
Do not get this if you’re in Australia. Buy square instead. I purchased 5.5 weeks before my market event for Christmas, where I had purchased a lot of stock to sell. The device came quickly, I’ll give them that. I set it up, loaded all my products on the back end and did the verification process. The reader sat there for the rest of the time until two days before my event, I turned it on just to make sure it was working. Everything seemed fine but something in the app said I needed to verify myself, which I had already done (sent my drivers license etc), so I did it again and it said it should only take a few hours to verify, which was fine because I still had two days until the event. The day before it was still not verified but in the app it tells you that it’s connected and working, so I assumed it would be ok after going through the verification process twice already! There’s also no number to call, so you don’t have a lot of options or support on a weekend. I got to the event and the reader declined ALL payments because of a security issue. I lost thousands of dollars in sales because nobody caries cash anymore. I sent a support ticket with all of this info and I get a response THREE days later saying that my account is now verified and I can start taking transactions. Bit late and I can’t get rid of this Christmas stock now until Christmas 2024. 6 months of planning down the drain because I decided to give SumUp a go, when I should have just gone with Square.
Pros
It’s relatively low cost upfront and cheaper transaction fees but I never got to use it!
Cons
Customer service is non existent. You have to verify yourself multiple times and then it’s likely it won’t accept payments on the day you need it most

Pros
This software is awesome. My customers love being able to tap their cards in order to make payments. The tap and go feature is extremely convenient when I am at craft fairs or outdoor vending events. No more keeping money in a pouch.

Good software that rewards its customers
Pros
Loyalty programs strengthen the relationship between customers and the company, enticing customers to return to enjoy the rewards. By offering incentives, these programs encourage customers to make repeat purchases, which can contribute to sales growth. Loyalty programs allow businesses to collect data on customer purchasing preferences and habits, providing thus useful information to personalize offers better understanding customers, companies can target their marketing efforts more precisely, thus improving the effectiveness of their campaigns.
Cons
Setting up and managing a loyalty program may incur costs, particularly for issuing rewards, managing the associated technology and promoting the program.
Programs that are too complex can discourage customer participation if they find it difficult to understand the rules or keep track of their rewards. Some customers might be loyal primarily because of rewards, which can make loyalty less stable if rewards are changed or removed. In some industries, many loyalty programs coexist, which can dilute the impact of each and make differentiation more difficult.
