Powerful tool and easy to use.
Since the implementation of Booksy, we have automated the entire operating system of the salon so that the organization of the agenda of the staff, is done much more efficiently and effectively, additionally have increased our levels of productivity, in addition to customer satisfaction, as they should not wait long to be served, another fundamental aspect is the generation of alert and notifications that keeps active the group of stylist and hairdressers. On the other hand it offers us the possibility of generating financial reports with just one click, the fact of being able to take the invoicing with this tool has been of great help for us.
Pros
Booksy is a platform for scheduling appointments, is very easy to use and configure, does not require learning curve, is also very complete, has a self-service portal built so that your customers can self-manage and make the reservation in the agenda with the professional of their choice, additionally, provides other benefits such as: staff planning, real-time scheduling and automated appointment management, point of sale (POS) and a powerful marketing and loyalty tool. Its layout of the board is very visual which facilitates having the most timely information at your fingertips. It has a very affordable price and in general it is a very functional program.
Cons
It is necessary to incorporate the inventory control functionality so we can centralize all administrative aspects of salon management with this tool.

Boosting Student Engagement and Service Efficiency with Booksy Biz
Booksy Biz has been a game-changer for managing our university's service scheduling. The platform's detailed analytics revealed a rise in student use of campus services, like academic advising and health center visits. We've also seen a drop in no-shows, leading to better use of resources and higher student satisfaction.
Pros
Booksy Biz's strong reporting features helped us identify peak times for campus services, making staffing and resource allocation more efficient. Integration with our student information system has improved tracking of student engagement. Automated reminders have cut down on no-shows and offered valuable insights into how students prefer to be contacted, guiding our outreach efforts.
Cons
We've noticed that the system can slow down during busy registration times, which might affect the accuracy of real-time analytics when making important decisions.

Waste of money
Pros
It was a functioning booking system, my clients could use it easily
Cons
So expensive!! Not only are there hidden charges like booksy boost and processing fees that we have to pay for, you’re restricted in what you can even do
Response from Booksy
Hi Paige, thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had a frustrating experience. I’d like to address a few points you mentioned:
- Boost is one of our most popular tools because it helps providers attract new clients and only requires a one-time commission of 30% of a new client's first appointment total. There are no recurring fees for just having Boost activated.
- Like most payment providers, we do have processing fees, but ours are lower than many other booking platforms. There’s no ongoing fee for using our payment features, unlike some of our competitors.
We’re committed to providing value and transparency and are always looking to improve our platform, so if you have any further questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out to us directly at [email protected].

Booksy for my Nail Salon
I enjoy using Booksy Biz for easy scheduling of clients for my salon. The pricing is ok but I don't really enjoy paying fees on each transaction. It is on par with the credit card machine and most people don't use cash so, it is what it is. It's definitely worth it for everything it offers for streamlining alot of business.
Pros
Being able to have a digital automated booking system.
Cons
The fees on my transactions are the only thing I don't likeabout Booksy but it is definitely worth it as every CC machine comes with transaction fees.

HORRIBLE SERVICE
I had a terrible experience with Booksy. Customer service was so unhelpful and slow to respond when I encountered big issue.
The thing is anyone can create a fake free account using my name and address and set prices lower than mine. When I asked to delete those accounts support asks me to send them some papers to confirm that it's my account and they don't remove fake accounts! When asked to be connected to a manager, they say "he will call you back" but no one ever does. Horrible service and I am losing clients and money because of fake accounts. This is illegal!
Overall, I would not recommend using Booksy until they improve their app and customer support significantly.
Pros
I cant find something what i like after terrible experience with a customer service
Cons
Customer service support are totally unprofessional
App often crashes

Great on the inside but outside could use a little work
Pros
Booksy is super easy to use on the business side of things. It takes just a couple of minutes to set up and then you're good to go, customers can book their own appointments based on your availability.
Cons
I didn't experience this myself, but customers kept complaining about the interface being clunky, I had people go to my website and email saying "please can I just make an appointment without going through that website." Definitely not what you want in a system!

Disappointed with takeover of Genbook
Booksy took over Genbook quickly with very little warning. They did NOT make sure they had the same features in place before this, which made the transition challenging for clients as well as practitioners. They still have not added the features we needed. At a minimum I wish they would have made sure they could offer the same simple features of Genbook before the takeover.
Pros
They integrated my customers and reviews from Genbook when they purchased it. This was convenient... that said, many other things since have been a nightmare.
Cons
There are no options to send repeat or automatic reminder to clients. They collect client information and encourage them to sign up for "booksy" to get an appointment. Clients have a lot of trouble making appointments, often get frustrated, then reach out by email anyway. There are no options for resource management, room management, or group classes. There is no option to show the "buffer" time set on the calendar; this allows practitioners to accidentally overbook themselves, we worked around this by adding time on to the appointment time, but then clients contact us and ask if their session is actually 30 minutes longer than expected.
Response from Booksy
Thank you for the feedback! Change is difficult, big or small, and it is never our intention to create confusion for you or your clients. Some of what you are describing we do have solutions for. Disaster for my business
It has been a nightmare. My business is down to half capacity. I regret not leaving immediately at the beginning of the year, but the problems compounded to the point where I must get a new booking system in order for my business to survive.
Pros
When they bought Genbook the migration was handled adequately and the transition was relatively smooth.
Cons
Everything else. The software is very buggy, customers began having trouble booking online and my schedule became less and less full over time. Customer support is non-existent. We lost the wait list function of genbook, we lost reviews, everything takes 3-4 extra clicks. They seem to be only interested in capturing my clients data so they can spam them. It was so cumbersome to book that many clients just started calling or texting me, defeating the purpose of online booking.

What am I paying for?
Pretty bad. Not impressed at all.
Pros
Very client friendly. Super easy for them to book and reach you.
Cons
Customer service is atrocious. I have been waiting over 24 hours for the chat team to get back to me after they stopped responded mid conversation. They will just completely ignore you. You have to wait forever to to get someone on the phone. They have an option to have your daily- yearly reports sent to you from the app. It used to work and now you can only do it from a desktop computer or a tablet. The option to do it from the app is there but it doesn’t work. You will book an appointment and it will disappear off your book or never show up. Let’s not talk about how long it takes to get your money from them. I refuse to even take payment through them because they are so inconsistent with fees and will tell you your money has been sent when it hasn’t. All in all I’m not sure what I am paying for. I wouldn’t recommend Booksy ever.

Pros

Cons

Could very well work for your business, but since Genbook was bought out we had to switch. Not...
Its been terrible. The onboarding team was very helpful but they're only useful while you move over. The tech support is pretty much non existent
Pros
Seems easy enough of and straight forward but does not do what We need/want it to
Cons
When clients are sent to book there are advertisements for other competitors and business with similar products in the main header/banner of the booking webpage. We cant take payment through Booksy to track analytics if someone wants to pay in store. Customers have to pay through an email sent after the appointment scheduled. Its not a conducive, streamlined or well configured UX.
Response from Booksy
Your customers can pay for their services any number of ways, really however you want to accept payments. You can give them the option to pay for services through the Booksy app using Mobile Payments, in-store with the Booksy Card Reader, or by any offline payment method like cash or gift card.

Best Software
I love it. Its awesome! And the help is always friendly even when you have silly questions they are always willing to help.
Pros
I have used booksy a long time ago when they just started, then went back on the books and paper for a while, then they came to see me and i saw so many upgrades and features, i dont use any other apps, they are the best of the best in salon business, i can do anything and everything i need to. Amazing software, easy and user friendly. I LOVE IT!
Cons
I Have nothing negative to say.
Except for the gallery could be easier to use....
if you click on a pic and want to go back it takes you to the top again. if you could go back and stay where you are that would be great otherwise you have to keep scrolling down. or if they could add in sections in the gallery like example.. in the salon business. say you have a full service salon. in one folder Nails, in another folder , Hair, ect. that would be awesome. or to categorize the peoples images in the salon. for example.... (Me) Chantelle and all my images under my name in a folder separate from Dee or sons images. so that way everyone creates their own profiles.

I want GenBook back
Horrible
Pros
The presentation and pos system. It has a very clean look.
Cons
I am a shop owner. My clients can not book with their preferred barber easily. If I am booked out. Booksy automatically books them with a free barber. This has cause major problems in my shop. My can’t even see the full calendar. They have to search hard for my next availability. I can’t even book my clients standing appointments. I’m very upset and looking for another alternative.

Great for ones who work alone.
My over all experience using this app is great I just don't really like you can't see what is pending to be deposited into your account I do not like that you cannot set a lunch time continuously and I am very upset that they took away the bounce back text messages but over all it's a great app to utilize if you work alone.
Pros
The pros of this software is that your clients can book 24 hours A-day 7 days a week with out a phone call you can apply a cancelation policy You can describe your services in full you can add a question that they have to answer before they can book that service it's a completely well rounded thought out software for someone who works alone.
Cons
I do not like that they took away the bounce back text messages so when someone would call and you couldn't get to the phone it would send them a text message where they could book their appointments I don't like that you can't set a set lunch time. And I do not like that you cannot see pending deposits. The way they have it set up is confusing

Booksy Witholding Funds
Pros
It offers a payment portal to ensure last minute cancellations and 'no-shows' would still be liable to pay for the artist's time.

Where is their support staff?
I was forced over to this product when GenBook was purchased. The support is terrible. It takes at least an hour to get a response from the chat, and sometimes, I get NO response even by the next day. Their online videos are useless to a new user who is just trying to switch over. Everything seems focused on salon usage, which is not how I use it.
Pros
I like that I can create a document to be completed by my clients right online when they create an appointment
Cons
I have no idea where or how to find the features I am used to. Documentation is lacking.

Pros
Booksy makes it very easy for me to book my haircut appointments. It shows all the available days and times that my barber is free.

Overall it was awful. I was billed incorrectly for a system error that was made and then my account got disabled. Their system error had detrimental effects to my business and there was zero acknowledgment of this or apology.

Payouts issue - disappointing
I am experiencing issues with registering my account for payouts since September 2022.I have provided Booksy with my Revolut details for payouts and as per error of one their employees I have been accepted even though they don’t allow Revolut for payouts. My customers have been charged for £160 worth of services and I can’t claim my money back from you due to this error.I have been informed by Booksy that I should provide ANY bank details with my name on it so as I work 7 days a week and banks require lots of paperwork it took me over 2 months to do it.FINALLY I thought I will get my money but what do I hear???? I can’t use my personal details because my business is LTD!Twice i have been misled by this joke of a Company that claim your money and don’t provide you with a solution for their own errors. Meets the need for clientele
Pros
I purchased this software for my daughter who is a brand new salon owner. I wanted to make sure that she was able to communicate with her clients in a way that would be effective and easy to use so that she did not have any issues. For the volume she's currently taking in, this works well and it's not stressful.
Cons
I'm personally not a fan of the app visually. To me it seems a little dated however that's just an aesthetic. The app definitely does what we need it to do so no complaint there.

Booksy seems to be too understaffed and overwhelmed to be as effective as it can
I hate the fact that I'm stuck using this awful company (if I jumped ship I would lose the hundereds of reviews that I had amassed while I was using Genbook). Booksy clearly got greedy by acquiring a competitor and instead of boosting up its staffing to handle the numerous bugs in its software as well as the influx of all the new customers from the competitor, they choose to go cheap with keeping its domestic staff lean (which I'm sure is terrible for morale) and contracting with ill-trained overseas customer support who are essentially useless when it comes to addressing the very real flaws in its system.
Pros
Good effort that they offer videos and webinars to help users navigate how to use Booksy. Too bad that those videos and webinars tend to be general and vague, and when there are specific questions and issues (or problems we run into that we point out) they are simply not addressed. I like that someone from Booksy reached out to me as a new customer after being migrated from Genbook to help me with my questions, but that was only for a period of a month and now that there are still ongoing questions and issues I need help with that person no longer responds. I know that it is due to the fact that the staffer is constantly being given new accounts as the old ones "age out" but it is indicative of how this business prioritizes profits from account volume rather than maintaining a robust, unassailable product with good customer service.
Cons
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Booksy touts offering support by phone (except they are so short staffed that the wait time is interminable), email (response rate is about several weeks), and 24/7 chat (response rate several hours for a reply, and oftentimes the overseas support person is not equipped to provide an answer or solution and when that is the case then they just ghost the conversation. Here is an example of a typical exchange. Me: Please help me w/ this problem accessing the waitlist, namely the fact that there does not seem to be one period. Booksy: The waiting list works so that it is only displayed if there is at least one free slot in business. Please check if the slot is available, then it should be working fine! Me: What do you mean that the waiting list works only so that it is only displayed if there is at least one free slot in business? The whole point of the waiting list is so that if all the slots are currently booked, whoever is on the waitlist is notified if the slot they want becomes available. Please explain b/c Booksy's waitlist does not make sense to me. Booksy: no response

Over Charged My Bank Account
Cons
AWFUL!!!!
This app has overcharged my bank account several times. I have tried to contact them several times and they will not get back with me. I have emailed them, called them and no response. I have been very patient. Still no response. Not even the [SENSITIVE CONTENT] will respond to me. Just shows the business ethic on their end and the lack of compassion towards the hairdressers that pay them to have their service. We as hairdressers are extremely busy. They billed me on the third of this month and then again on the 11th for $29. They also charged me $29 for messaging which I opted out of when I first got the app but they charged me anyway. So BEWARE OF THIS APP AND THE CHARGES!
I have tried to erase my bank information and all other personal information, it will not let me erase my information. So now I have to call the bank and change bank cards.
This is a HIGE HASSLE when I tried to be patient and nice about this on going issue for MONTHS!
When you call you get blown off to the app chat line or asked to email them! COWARDS if you ask me!! Quick to take your money 💴 but hide when they make a mistake in taking too much mistakenly!

Booksy Review
My overall experience with Booksy has been great. It’s a great price for the features it offers and it makes running my business easier for me. Not to mention my clients also like how easy it is to use.
Pros
What I like and appreciate most about this software is the mobile access, appointment scheduling, and confirmation/reminders. These are some of the main things about this software that makes it easy not only for me, but for my customers to use.
Cons
I do feel calendar sync could be improved. I do like this feature, but I’ve had issues with my appointments not being on my calendar even though someone would schedule their appointment.

Booksy - for the Solo Barber
Great , easy to use product with some fantastic tools to make managing your business easier so you can focus on your customers.
Pros
I love being able to manage my diary and appointments on the go, create stylish advertising content, get reviews to boost your Brand. The deposit scheme is great if no shows are causing issues for your shop, and I found I built better relationships with clients for tracking their info and keeping better notes.
Cons
Sometimes making changes to working days / hours etc seems long winded and wasn't smooth running, but as long as you check carefully changes ae correct, I got there in the end.
Response from Booksy
Thanks for taking the time to leave this great review. We're so glad you're finding Booksy a valuable asset in running your business.

No waitlist
Initially, it seemed they were very responsive and helpful. I tried the online chat and heard nothing but crickets when I followed up to a vague answer I received.
Pros
Genbook was purchased by Booksy and I will say the migration of data was great. Booksy assigned a rep to me for a few weeks to help with the transition which was nice.
Cons
I need a waitlist. Booksy claims they have one but it is virtually impossible to access which to me, means it does not exist. If you can’t find it easily, it’s useless. I’ve been told that improving that feature a top priority but I’m not holding my breath. Am already looking for another solution and I haven’t even been with them for 30 days
Response from Booksy
Thank you for the great review! We know the waitlist is an important tool for businesses on Booksy and are working on developing a solution that is user friendly for both businesses and their clients. We appreciate that you gave us a try, and we hope that, should you decide to come back, our solution will be exactly what you need.

The worst app and business owners should be aware
I hate that Genbook merged with Booksy, they couldn’t have picked such a terrible software. Customer service is horrible, please don’t respond with “get in touch with [email protected]” because I ALREADY have and yet no response, mind you this was last week. My bank account has not been verified after almost 1 week and a half and I’ve been sending over numerous documents but nothing. I NEED to talk to someone over this issue because I’m potentially losing a lot of money especially with no shows. Don’t even get my started on every client has to give a deposit? Or at least that’s what I was told on the chat. Oh, and the chat.. you ask a question on the chat and get a response HOURS later.. like Business owners have that time? Anyways, these are my main points, I can go on. If you do respond, please let me know how I can get a refund since I paid Genbook.
Pros
I wish I could give them a pro but nothing
Cons
Pretty much everything a business owner can dislike about a app feature

Booksy is Garbage
They are a garbage company. Customer service is unresponsive. I had repeatedly asked them to delete my client list from their server prior to the data breach. Eventually they assured me that they had done that. Two weeks later another salon had my entire list.
Pros
When books he purchased Genbook I kept some of the useful features.
Cons
Once Booksy took over, I lost my entire cancellation list. Several appointments did not make it in the changeover and I was double booked. They gave my entire client list to another, competing salon who began marketing to all 1500 clients

Not impressed with support
Pros
Somewhat similar to Genbook. Still trying to learn and navigate my way around.
Cons
The support! I previously had Genbook for 6 yrs, and had to switch over to Booksy because they are combining. With making the change I had to verify my bank account to receive online payments to protect from no shows. Apart of the process is uploading a bank statement with my account number and bank logo. My account can’t be verified so I’m blocked. I reach out to support and they tell me wait 24 hours. Okay I do, still blocked. Then I reach out again, I need to upload a bank statement again. So I have. At this point I can’t tell you how many times I’ve uploaded my bank statement and checks to prove I am the account holder. I reach out to support trying to get help and I get left with no help. I call support in the phone. Talked to one gentleman who heard my frustration and said he would try pushing the matter with who ever is in charge of verification. Nothing happens still blocked. I reach out to support again through chat, the person I talked to didn’t help me at all. Would tell me he’ll be right back and contacted me the next day saying the same thing, I need to upload bank statements and to let him know when I did. I followed instructions to later receive a message from him “ thanks for reaching out, if you need any further assistance don’t hesitate to reach out to support” and the chat was ended. Once again, no help. I called support again, no one was available, I tried to even cancel my subscription and no one was available for me to talk to.

We're sorry your experience switching to Booksy has been less-than-stellar! It is never our intention deliver a bad experience. Card processing requires very specific information to verify, and any small discrepancy can prevent an account from being verified. Contact us at [email protected] so we can look into your account specifically.

Almost Non-Existant Customer Service or Follow Through
Horrible. I'm guessing their software was ok... I was told at one point that someone from their support team would call me to go over the software features, but it's been almost 6 months and that hasn't happened. I'm just astounded that a company, who is there to help people like me run a business, which is my livelihood, would completely drop the ball and LITERALLY SHUT DOWN THEIR PHONE SUPPORT.
Pros
I had an account originally with Genbook (which I loved). They were bought out by Booksy. The only positive thing I can say is that they were able to transfer everything from Genbook to Booksy, so I didn't have to re-create any services.
Cons
I literally could not get ANYONE on the phone to help when my account was migrated from Genbook. They completely... and I mean COMPLETELY... shut down their phone support. The absolute only option for support was their chat feature, and most of the time I had to wait days for a response, and one time I literally waited WEEKS for a response. There was no option to start a new chat conversation... I was just stuck with no answers, when trying to run my business.
Response from Booksy
Thank you for the feedback! We never intend to deliver a less-than stellar experience and we're sorry to have not met your expectations. We understand the frustration and have taken action to build up our support team to be more responsive to users on our platform.

Horrible Experience
Terrible. Please see "cons" section for details.
Pros
Honestly, this was a terrible experience for our small business. We had been using Genbook, which was fine, but then they were bought out by Booksy and we were forced to switch.
Cons
Where do I start? It was difficult and clumsy for our therapists to manage their own schedules, both on the mobile app and on the desktop. Customers were not able to search for appointments with a specific therapist, and we were getting constant negative feedback from customers. You are not able to prevent last minute cancellations unless you sign up for payment processing with them, which is ridiculous. Also, we had very little control over certain settings: I had to call Booksy just to adjust our reminder notifications! Customer support was not great, particularly with the "chat" function. I often had to wait up to 15 minutes to get a response. Even cancelling this product was difficult! It had to be done over the phone, and I've called multiple times to try to stop them from continuing to send appointment reminders to customers even after we cancelled. This is still going on.
Response from Booksy

No free trial and no help
Nothing I was just too frustrating using this product, no help on my side
Pros
What I say online was the fat that you can used them to book your clients, I thought is for everyone but I find out that is not helpful to me
Cons
They should lean how to treat their costomer representative
Response from Booksy

Revolutionary product that makes life easier
It brings the supply and demand together in the market. I guess the simplest description can be this. Finding a place with the service I need and making an appointment has never been so easy.
Pros
First of all, great idea and product. It solves a big problem for everyone in everyday life. I can't express enough how Booksy improved my life quality by making appointments and reservations in the most simplified way. Moreover, it allows me to make a more informed decision as I can see other reviews. Filters and sorting helps a lot. I can't imagine my life now without Booksy.
Cons
I am a long term user so I can say that at the beginning UI/UX was not as intuitive. However, they do release product updates and improve the tool so I can't really complain.
Response from Booksy
Thank you for the feedback! We love hearing from our long-time users and we're so glad our improvements have made a difference for you and your Booksy app experience.
