BQE Review

I switched to this system after using another finance system for 18 years and it was an easy interface and allowed for minimal training so even our entry level staff picked it up quickly.

Pros

The ability to run multiple reports and drop them into excel.

Cons

I wish we could save multiple filters for the T&E reviewer since I use that the majority of the time.

Helps Me Focus on the Business End

Overall, I find the suite to be very helpful for what I need it for. It allows me to focus on my work without stressing about this aspect of the business. I more-often-than-not trust that things are taken care of properly and effectively.

Pros

It's easy to navigate and find what you need. This is an important aspect because I don't want to have to spend a lot of time trying to navigate my way around.

Cons

One minor complaint is that sometimes my time entries double up for no reason. This can lead to confusion within our payroll department.

Great invoicing platform for Time Based Civil Engineering

Pros

Time tracking; overall look of the invoices; tracking payments

Cons

Needs to improve features like adding email to each project; being able to make notes only visible to us on an invoice; seeing payment dates while looking at invoice (this takes several steps by going to the project tab); CORE can be slow and I find I have to enter 2-3 times before it will respond (Server issue?); Being able to create our own "template" for what assignments need to be used when creating a project and there's more not specified here.

Excellent Software

Excellent - their people know the product, when you call with an issue you SPEAK to someone who is knowledgeable. They answer the phone which is such a great thing

Pros

The ability to speak to someone who knows the software when an issue arises.

Cons

Honestly I don't have an issue with it at all. We got the product BillQuick first and then went online to Core, which was a blessing because a couple of months later the pandemic hit and we were all homebound.

Software has issues, but their customer support is pretty good

In theory, I like all of the features that core has to offer, however, when the features don't work the way they're supposed to it becomes a bit of a nightmare to use. It has a lot of bugs, crashes often and in general is just not very user friendly.

Pros

I like the expense management feature for employee reimbursement and client billing purposes. I also liked the accounting feature that allows you to bill expenses straight from the Cloudfeeds. I also really liked their customer support. They have a solid team on standby for customer support. I would often get the same person when I called. They are super friendly and know how to navigate the software.

Cons

It's time consuming to use - it's so slow and there are a lot of features that bug out and simply don't work the way they're supposed to, so I spend a lot of time navigating all of that, which is a bummer.

Yep, there is a feature for that!

Good. Invoicing and time entry in the program fit our needs. There are always more features that we discover when we need more from CORE.

Pros

The program is cloud based which keeps us current. Most of the time when I have specific report, feature, or activity that I want, I can find what I need quickly. As with many programs, CORE does more than my office utilizes it for. Invoicing and time entry are usually smooth processes.

Cons

We migrated from ArchiOffice and feel that the way contacts are managed in CORE is utterly useless. We've abandoned it in favor of a piecemeal assortment of Office 365 and Mac built-in programs.The structure of projects is also something that can be improved. When a project transforms from hourly to percentage or adds phases, CORE has some flexibility but there are troublesome aspect such as migrating time from a single phase project to ensure it can be captured in invoices.

Still learning BUT working well for our firm

Ease of creating new projects with various templates & phases, option to assign fee schedules and invoicing

Cons

The platform runs slow and you have to constantly scroll. Great reporting options; however, could use improvement by allowing more customization on templates (removing fields, adding fields, etc...)

User friendly and informative

Easy to use. Informative. And customer service has been helpful when I have had to call.

Pros

I like that it is easy to use and that it clearly portrays time and work summaries in various ways. The graphs and visuals are helpful to visualize how I have spent my time on different projects. I also enjoy the timer feature so that I can easily start and stop to track my time throughout the day.

Cons

I haven't encountered anything about CORE yet that has been frustrating or unhelpful.

Pros

So far I have enjoyed the modifiable nature.

Cons

I am struggling to view or change forecast dollars and hours in the same window without having to refresh the page to switch from one to the other. It would be nice to have them together on the same page and update live.

Great Tool for Time Tracking!

Overall has been a very positive experience using BQE CORE Suite. It allows for clear communication between myself and my team leadership, so there is no question about where my time is going and how long a task took to complete.

Pros

It breaks down each of my projects clearly and I can directly see where all of my time is going! It offers a lot of control.

Overall my experience with BQE CORE Suite is extremely positive. I rarely encounter any issues.

Pros

The dashboard is extremely useful as it provides a snapshot of all the information important to me (e.g. performance, PTO balance etc.).

Cons

At times when using the mobile app, I am unable to see narratives for time entries. This is usually rectified by logging out and back in again however, this can be inconvenient.

Lots of features, includes an API

Overall, my experience was good. It's a comprehensive suite of software, not lacking much. It can be buggy at times, but there's definitely workarounds that can be done. Additionally, the inclusion of an API is a major selling point over competitors.

I like how everything has many ways to accomplish the same thing. Not stingy on features.

Sometimes it can be laggy and require a couple refreshes prior to actual timecard submission

BQE makes time keeping and tracking simple

BQE makes time keeping and tracking relatively easy. Good layout for site navigation. You can add widgets to your "dashboard" for what is important to you.

Pros

Good for time-sheet tracking. Both for yourself and tracking time billed to projects. Easy input with a well-working search feature and "Load Recent Activities" button. Also breaks up billable and non-billable time for you.

Cons

Our company does not use the Project Planning/Tracking App, so not comment on the usability of that.

Great product fro expense and time tracking, and way more

Pros

I have been using BQE Software for almost 4 years now. I have been reguarly logging hours and expenses as part of my daily work. I really love the app version in which I can snap a picture on the go from my receipt and toss the receipt away immediatelly. It has saved me tons of time of collecting receipts and then balancing my credit card account.
Tracking billable hours is also pretty easy and there are couple of options to do so for each personality from using project timers that you can play and pause to straight old-fashined type of plug-in. Overall, I am very happy of this software.

Best at Accessibility and Time management.

Overall, it was a good experience till date. I would like to have Time Management section improvised so that it can be more functional in day-to-day task management.

Easy & Efficient

Efficient and easy to use for logging and submitting time as well as keeping track of PTO.

Pros

It's intuitive, easy to navigate, and easy to use.

Cons

In my organization, the program is set up with autosave as time is entered so it if a mistake is made you only have a few seconds to correct it yourself without needing an admin to go in and adjust it for you.

Overall, it's been good to work with BQE, it's a great app.

Pros

Using BQE is very simple, additionally, time can be entered day by day and you are sent reminders when you have not entered time in the projects.

Cons

They could improve the way the user sees the screen, it could be a little more didactic.

Great app and product for time tracking

Love the app will continue to use it. I recommend it 10/10!!

Pros

I am an employee that uses this app to submit hours to invoice billing for our customers. It is easy to input hours, expenses and review history of past projects via app and website

Cons

Initially the app was difficult to modify hours and such. I have been using the app for 2 years and they have improved the app a great deal!

BQE Core makes life easier!

BQE Core is easy to navigate and if issues and/or questions do arise, their customer service team is always quick to answer our questions!

Pros

BQE Core Suite makes invoicing and reconciling expenses fast and efficient, giving us the opportunity to update any items that may need adjusted prior to finalizing any entries each month.

Cons

BQE Core Suite runs a bit slower than we would prefer, but otherwise, it suits all our needs!

BQE CORE - Must have

Pros

Tracking time & expenses has never been easier. The interface is very easy to use and provides great historical data of your time tracking that differentiates between billable and non billable hours. Having never used the software before, it has been very easy to familiarize myself with it and use on a daily basis.

Cons

Whenever I go to save a line entry for hours, it defaults as non-billable even if I click the billable box. This causes me to have to click billable after i save each entry.
