Affordable, lots of great features, detailed reporting
The overall experience is great, the customer service representatives are always friendly and helpful via chat and phone.
Pros
DonorPerfect has a simple and intuitive interface. I like that it has comprehensive options for gift processing, online forms, receipts, and default reports I never thought that I would need. I also like the Constant Contact integration to make sending out email blasts easier, along with other 3rd party platform integrations. It’s also relatively affordable compared to some of the more robust CRMs out there, which is great for small and medium sized nonprofits. One convenient feature is Instant Merge, which allows you to quickly generate a merged acknowledgment letter from a gift entry. The default gift settings allow you to enter a large batch of donations at once, saving both time and ensuring accuracy. DonorPerfect is also constantly working on fixes and new features.
Cons
Some changes I would like to see implemented in DP include:
•The ability to use Global Update to delete or update Flags.
•Streamlining some tedious processes that require too many clicks and fields to fill out.
•The ability to merge duplicate codes like solicitation, general ledger, flags, etc.
•The ability to edit default DP reports, since sometimes the default formatting is often not usable to us.
•I would like to see a main profile field called “Status” and a drop-down list that includes Inactive and Deceased. Right now, all our deceased doors show as “Lapsed” and the only field for us to mark it is the “Do Not Mail Reason”.
•We have not switched over to the new Online Forms module yet because the new forms don’t have all the features of the Classic Online Forms. We also have several dozen active forms, and if we are not able to easily convert our current Online Forms to the new version at some point it will be very tedious and time consuming to redo all of them.

Overall I am impressed with DonorPerfect and am always looking forward for new updates and other programs to use in DonorPerfect.
Pros
DonorPerfect is incredibly robust with many options for running reports and collecting data. This ability to do just about anything is what I like most about DonorPerfect.
Cons
Because of how robust the system is it can become confusing with how many filters there are. In addition some ways of reporting are not possible. For example we like to put together a multi ask report for donors each year, at this time there is no easy report to get donors names who support more that one solicitation each year.

The PERFECT PACKAGE
Overall, the cost of DonorPerfect as well as the program itself is a very nice package. I have used 2 other programs before that were way more expensive and alot harder to use. This is the perfect package!
Pros
I love the user friendly capabilities of DonorPerfect! It is very easy to post donations and with the click of a button you can print out a thank you letter with acknowledgement of the type of donation, date of donation, and the amount.
Cons
The least thing I like about DonorPerfect is finding the name of selection filters. Sometimes I find it hard to find what I am looking for.

Continuing to Learn After 6 Years
We continue to want to learn and take advantage of all DP has to offer, and are not tempted to explore another CRM. ReadySetAuction helps us coordinate a smooth online auction every year.
Pros
DonorPerfect's customer service and training are second to none. Their knowledgeable team is patient and more than happy to answer questions. They don't rush you. If they don't know the answer, they will find out and circle back to you.
Cons
The options for DonorPerfect's forms for online giving need continued development. We choose to use a third-party that works well with DonorPerfect until DP can provide some of the same features.

The Best Donor Software Out There
We have had Donor Perfect for almost 20 years now and it is the best. We have had new [sensitive content hidden] try to come in and talk about switching our Donor software but I always push back against it. I have never had an issue with Donor Perfect, the customer service is always amazing and fast and the price is great! I recommend this to any company that needs an easy and efficient way of keeping track of donors.
Pros
I love that Donor Perfect is so user friendly. We can keep track of all our donor info including past gifts, contact info and credit card information. When gifts are received and recorded, I can send a thank you email straight from the gift page so that it is never forgotten.
Cons
Being SO many reports it might be difficult to find the right one, but it is always easy to get help if needed.

Best of the Bunch
Overall, it's been a great experience right from our initial meetings about migrating our data over to this new platform. The online support is also very good.

Worth the Investment
Overall i am very please with changing to Donorperfect. The easy access to customer services, FAQs, webinars and upgrades are priceless.
Pros
The ability to steamline our donation tracking and communication in the same database and effortlessly vet donors for specific asks.
Cons

I Love Donor Perfect
I have been using DonorPerfect for several years. Compared to other donor database platforms I have used it in the past, it is more convenient, easy to use, and affordable.

Move to DonorPerfect
Overall DonorPerfect has met our needs and grown with us over the past 10 years. We are very happy with the support team that has worked with us to troubleshoot and advise us on how to best utilize our system for optimal results.
Pros
When researching different products to find our fundraising CRM solution, we looked at many different options. Most did not include all the functionality we needed or were too expensive for a small to medium non profit. DonorPerfect fit our needs and budget.

Excellent price but needs work
Pros
Integrates with Constant Contact and Give Cloud, so gifts automatically come in and are assigned to donors.
Cons
There are a number of issues that seem to be systemic. For example, you cannot open two windows to look at/compare two donors and the batch gift entry screen is hard coded to only show you 10 rows at a time, when the window is much larger than that (and the header fields don't stay in place when you scroll down). Additionally, the filter system is not user-friendly and does not seem to handle a mixture of include/do not include fields. I am often advised to created an affirmative filter that includes every donor, and then subtract out the things I DON'T want. Also, each filter can only use the AND boolean or the OR boolean, not both. If you want to use both, you have to create a compound filter and perhaps even a compound filter filled with compound filters. Very unfriendly to the user. Lastly, the dashboard reporting is quite limited. You can assign solicitors, but there's no dashboard view that will, for example, show you everyone assigned to specific solicitor and what the last contact date/type was. My boss would like to look at his development director's contacts and see where he's at with folks but can't do that.

Very adaptable and user friendly
My first and most important point is that I feel we are being treated the same as larger clients. The service we receive is outstanding. I strongly recommend getting phone support at least at the first year, until you have done all you normally do in a normal annual cycle at least once. Overall, I find we are treated better than the large vendor we worked with before, the program is way more flexible, and also very intutive.
Pros
With our previous vendor, it was very hard to taylor the use of the system to our specific needs. DonorPerfect is a dream to work with in that regard. We have been able to set up things as they work best for us, and were shown how to achieve some goals we had in use of system that had not ever been achieved with the previous vendor.
Cons
I find that chat support is clunky if you have to do a system deep dive involving compound filters or such. Some of the help section material is a bit vauge and I find theat search options not as easy to navigate as your search terms have to be pretty general.

Easy Data Entry and Helpful Staff!
I have been using it for 9 years. If there is something I can't do or don't understand, it is great that I can make a phone call and get the assistance I need from the staff.
Pros
The capabilities to keep up with ALL of our donors money interactions (i.e., donations, tributes, purchases, etc). Able to run reports so all departments I interact with know how much money has been raised for their department and how much for each event.

I've been using DonorPerfect for the last 4 years. Overall, I really like the program. Each time I've received help through customer service chat, the representatives have been extremely helpful. Or if you have a zoom meeting with an instructor, they are outstanding and knowledgeable in teaching you new things.
Pros
Extremely easy to navigate while either entering donations or requesting a certain report. Having advanced search options to locate a donor really has helped in many situations that I've encountered. By just entering either the donor's email or home address you are able to locate that donor. I really like on the search page that it show's a lifetime giving amount as well as last donation and amount. Another great feature is that you are able to create your own thank you letters to your donors.
Cons
Having to click on email or print letter for your thank you receipt. It should just automatically default to letter. Sending an email to your donor that is requesting one, typically you send a copy of the letter that would be mailed to the donor through email. Or if you would send an email, it should pertain to that specific donor if you needed to add anything. Maybe in the future, when a donor requests the donation to be in memory of someone that a card could be sent to the family letting them know of the donation.

Effective for Tracking Donors and Donations
My overall experience has been good. The software is effective in managing the data we need managed. Customer service is helpful but sometimes the wait times are long.
Pros
I like that it's user friendly and easy to navigate. Customer service is also helpful when trying to problem solve an issue.
Cons
There are a some features that are restrictive and should be updated. For example, there's an option to automatically record a contact when an email is sent to a donor, but it records it as a receipt sent. You can manually record that the donation was acknowledged but there's no way to set the automatic contact to acknowledge. This is frustrating because the majority of emails sent are to acknowledge, not to send receipts. Building filters is also a bit complicated, but customer service is helpful in that area.

A few things to work on, Overall great product.
Pros
The ease and fluidity of customer tracking. Paired with Truegivers and Constant Contact, it really helps keep all accounts up to date with the correct information and helps my day more organized and less stressing with everything going on day to day.
The customer service and in-site chat is very responsive and useful. Quick response times if an issue cannot be solved in chat.
Cons
As I was not on the team to get the initial training of the launch of the program I was kind of missing some key information that since I have now found througout the knowledgebase and webinars but may have been helpful at the start. The guides sent at the beginning of each webinar are lacking information if someone were to trying to follow along it is hard to get back on track with what is happening. Shorter but more in depth training on one specific topic would be very helpful to others just starting.

Makes Organization a Breeze
Excellent would highly recommend. We use this program everyday at work for keeping track of donations and running monthly reports for our Board Members.
Pros
We use DonorPerfect for so many things. Keeping track of donation, our Trips and Tour, and we use it to help with our yearly Gala.
Cons
It has a lot of moving parts so it took awhile to learn the whole program. That being said Customer Service was there every step of the way to answer our questions. We take the education classes also. The video's they supply are easy to follow and understand.

New to the field, but Donor Perfect has help tremedously.
It has been good. I wish I received a welcome packet or video to walk me through all of the features Donor Perfect offers (just an overview with next steps to learn more about each feature).

I appreciate being able to call the support team at Donor Perfect for assistance in creating a new report, event, online form, etc. I also love the Knowledge base, with numerous webinars and articles about utilizing the software. I am new to the nonprofit field, and never worked with a donation or CRM software before. Through the resources provided, I have been able to teach myself how to use Donor Perfect.

I don't know what I don't know in Donor Perfect. After being in my role as a Development Assistant for 6 months, I finally learned about receipting in Donor Perfect. This is an incredible tool, but I just did not know that it existed. It was months before I discovered the Knowledgebase, and that has been a lifesaver.

Excellent Customer Support
Pros
We have been using DonorPerfect for many years, and it has been an extremely useful tool for several reasons. We track donor types, record contacts and event attendance, and enter gifts. We especially like the goal trackers that can be updated for different campaigns and featured on the Home Screen! The quality of DonorPerfect that stands out most is the excellent customer service. We use the quick chat option frequently for help with running complex reports or for other quick questions, and we always find the live tech help to be quick and supportive.
Cons
While DonorPerfect is a very powerful tool, there are a few parts that are not super user friendly. The reports can be difficult to perfect at times, and creating the online forms can feel clunky without proper "know how."

Happy with donor Perfect
After we converting all our donors from FileMaker it was really easy to use the Donor Perfect database. The conversion was very smooth and we love all that we can do in Donor Perfect to keep our donors happy! I especially like the number of reports we can get and the ease of sending out Thank You letter to our Donors.

Great software for processing donor gifts and keeping donation records, not great for...
Overall, it's a solid system, very good at processing payments, helping to hold donor records together, and the support is wonderful. There are a few pieces that could use some updating to make them even more efficient.
Pros
I really like the customer support and chat help. I find that when I have issues of any kind, there is always an outlet to quickly help me and support my organization's needs. I also like how you can attach documentation to transactions or just to the record, it helps to purposefully attach information directly where it belongs.
Cons
I don't like that you can't select a record to be a household/couple. We have many married donors who want to be in one singular record, and the only way to do that is to put both first names in the same row, which makes pulling reports and processing information for each specific donor more difficult. I'm getting better with reports, but even after 4 years, I still find the process clunky, especially when you're trying to deep dive down into very specific pieces of information. I also don't like how in every training, the trainers are always trying to upsell on additional features. I stopped signing up for trainings and either use the chat function or read articles to learn how to complete new tasks.

I find most of DonorPerfect very useful. I haven't taken the time to watch all the tutorials but I click on help and there is always someone there to help me.
Cons
I am more old school and like to be hands on so a workbook showing me step by step how to do different tasks is very helpful. A video is seen but forgotten easily. Hardcopies are a quick reference guide helpful for me. Secondly doing the reports that I need are not that easy for me to get the exact information needed so I use help quite frequently.

A great choice for new nonprofits
Overall, my experience with DonorPerfect is positive. The software is easy to use, and our organization has used it for a long time. It keeps our donor data secure and easily accessible, and reports and receipting are done well. Other features like credit card processing and online giving pages make this a great resource for new nonprofit organizations.

Donor Perfect is really easy to use. The UI is intuitive, making it easy for our staff to enter donations promptly and accurately. The reporting is robust and customizable.
Cons
The biggest disappointment with DonorPerfect is the lack of integrations with accounting software. Currently, the only integration listed on their page is Quickbooks. They just launched a partnership with Sage Intacct for new customers. This is an area they need to expand. Eliminating the hurdles of getting donation data into an accounting system, as well as the possibility of entry errors, should be a high priority for a Donor Management service.

Donor Perfect is checking all the boxes for us
After only a month of using DonorPerfect, we are still finding additional features that will help in our fundraising efforts. Overall, our experience with DonorPerfect has been excellent. By using DonorPerfect, all of our system platforms are integrated in one place and all donor interactions is recorded within the system. We also can see that DonorPerfect will be helpful in time management.

Our reason for switching to DonorPerfect is that is has helped us move all our components for fundraising into one product. By using DonorPerfect, all of our system platforms are integrated in one place and records all donor interaction within the system. Previously, our email & text communications were not recorded in the donor system. We also like the "scheduled donor outreach" which appears on the Home screen. Using Donor Perfect has removed the duplicate entry of data which saves time and reduces data entry error.
Cons
Using the Chat Feature sometimes takes awhile before someone logs into the chat to help us. In addition, because of the difference in time zones, we find that the window of time for us to receive help can be challenging. However, with that said, the DonorPerfect team has been helpful in resolving any issues we are having as we learn the system. The Receipting function feels a bit "clunky" at times but we are learning to work within the system.

Great Product, but Lacks Some Vital Customizatin
It's been a good experience. For the most part support is good, but sometimes we get the "issue is being elevated to ..." reponse because support is stumped.
Pros
DonorPerfect is easy to learn and use. Import and export functions are easy to use.
Cons
The definition of "lapsed" donor. Some of the standard reports don't work with our data - we have some complex gift coding due to the nature of our data which makes some reports unusable. Mass emailing outside of Constant Contact would be beneficial. It would be great if email looked more personal with the Constant Contact logo at the bottom of the correspondence.

Catholic High Recommends DonorPerfect
Again, their Customer Support is the best I have ever experienced with a software solution. They are responsive and teach you "how to fish" instead of "fishing" for you.

They need to add improved functionality around Capital Campaign processing and reporting. They do have a mechanism to submit ideas to improve the product but sometimes you have to wait for other users to raise the same issue before it makes its way into the product. It would also be great if we could set up an automated integration to update our data records when there are changes in address, phone number, and email in our schools' CRM so we do not have to update the records manually and can be assured that both systems are in sync.

A Very Comprehensive Program
Overall, DonorPerfect is a great program. Their online training videos, both live and recorded are very helpful for the new user (which I am). Their Knowledge Base articles provide step by step instructions for practically anything you want to accomplish within the database.
Pros
DonorPerfect has a robust Events Management component. We are in the beginning stages of promoting and taking donations for our upcoming Gala. There are great features that help track sponsorships, create guest tables, etc. This is more comprehensive than the previous software we used.
Cons
Currently, only the Classic Forms can be used to capture online gifts for Events. I wish that the Online Form Builder was available to use because it has a more contemporary feel to the design and is really easy to use.
I wish the fee for the phone support was a little less expensive. As a small non-profit, every penny counts. However, as a fairly new user and a one person development office, I don't know what I would do without the excellent support.

Donor Care Coordinator
I have had an overall good experience with DP- I have felt like they are very quick on returning emails and questions. [sensitive content hidden] is very personable and responsive.
Pros
Ever since Donor Perfect update their look it has been better. They have always had great customer service and will walk you through building reports.
Cons
Perhaps the only con would be how every extra package is separate. Certain things are not included like making a video or sending mass emails.

DonorPerfect Review
DonorPerfect is a great system with advanced capabilities. The things the system is able to do, and the things we want the system to do, are often rather complicated and advanced, so the learning curve can be a little high. For smaller organization not needing an advanced level of reporting and donor tracking, I could see the learning curve being a lot. For larger organization, I encourage investing the time to really learn the system and make it work for you.
Pros
DonorPerfect has an advanced CRM with lots of options for reporting, customization, and design. DonorPerfect also has a fantastic support team that is easily reachable and very helpful. What I value most about DonorPerfect is that they really invest in teaching you how to use the product and sharing general fundraising education information, which empowers you to try new things and increase your fundraising level.
Cons
DonorPerfect's online forms and event management have not been sufficient for the level of fundraising events we do, causing us to utilize other programs and import the data post-event. Their general online giving forms are great; managing event registrations and details is what can be challenging.

DonorPerfect is comparable to eTapestry, a Blackbaud product that was once an Access database that Blackbaud took over. DonorPerfect isn't as useful as Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge and far less useful a CRM as SalesForce.
Pros
DonorPerfect seems to be fairly customizable and recent updates allow users to be very specific when entering gift records.
Cons
Even with assistance from DP Chat, we have been unable to upload mass contacts into DonorPerfect. For instance, we may have has 250 guests at a fundraising event. We wanted to take an excel sheet with donor names and a comment like "Attended an Event" into each donor record at one time, but were unable to do a single, mass upload instead of entering the contact into records individually.
When downloading donations from Online Forms, DonorPerfect always creates a new record even when the existing record is an almost 100% in data.
DP Mobile needs updating. It will not allow cards that aren't embossed (the credit card number) to be swiped. Most credit/debit cards are no longer embossed.

DonorPerfect Works Well For Us
I took over as the DonorPerfect administrator for our organization about 2 and a half years ago. I have learned a lot from the support team and from webinars. Utilizing some of the features of DonorPerfect we hadn't been using before has allowed me to streamline aspects of our donor organization and saves considerable time.
Pros
My personal favorite thing about DonorPerfect is the wide range of customization that is available for data fields. Tied into that, reports are easy to run and can produce a lot of great data if you use your filters and export templates well. Support is very helpful whether on the phone or on chat. The free live webinars are also great and lead by very knowledgeable individuals.
Cons
It is a bit of a learning curve to get used to certain functions in DonorPerfect. There are a few features I would adapt or change, but I don't have any significant problems with the system.

Only useful if you have full time tech people - works, but very non-intuitive.
Good features, but lacks smooth user experience. Only viable for full time users who can learn non-intuitive processes. Overall was one of our worst decisions. So expensive to roll out, yet we may give up and go back to our old software.
Pros
It does have strong features and integrates well once you figure it out.
Cons
We had 2 people quit because they hate the system. It basically caused a coup because the staff hated it so much due to the lack of simple controls. Want to see a list of donors? 7 clicks to generate a special report which you need to view in Excel. Want a list of donations? Likewise, 6 clicks through completely non-intuitive menus. How do you not have a 'donors' and 'donations' button on a donation database? These 'report generators' are 1990's tech, and it's driving us crazy.
It's got all the features, but feels so piecemeal - each function is a different app, and not all talk to each other.

Thoughts from a new Donor Perfect user
I am still learning the platform and working to understand everything I can use it for, but every time I go on it and every time I speak with a support agent I gain a better understanding. It is great to have a platform to keep all donor information in one place and which can also search all your records according to what you need.
Pros
I love that the customer support is always available and willing to assist. With so many ways to pull information, I sometimes struggled to find the reports with the information I needed. Support helped me to not only find this information but understand how I can find it myself. I now feel a lot more confident in my understanding of the platform. I also appreciate the forms feature as it makes fundraising simple and is user friendly, both to me creating the form and to donors using it.
Cons
I feel for new users there is a big learning curve to understanding how to use the platform and how to pull the right information. There is so much available to you that it can be confusing. There are also filter elements that are not named clearly or extra boxes to check that can change the results you get.

Pros
DonorPerfect is a powerful, cost-effective donation management platform with robust reporting and integrated gift and pledge payment processing. The community knowledgebase is an excellent resource that facilitates rapid upleveling and self-learning. However, my favorite aspect of DonorPerfect is the exceptional quality of customer support. Whenever I've encountered a roadblock or limitation, their team has responded with incredible competence. I am consistently impressed with their product knowledge, efficiency, honesty, and persistence; in cases where my queries have resulted from user error, their team is always respectful and helps us understand where these originate. It takes almost no time to speak to a person.

I have been using Donor Perfect for years. When I first started it was quite a learning curb since I was less experienced in working with CRMs. However, the longer I've worked with Donor Perfect, the more knowledgeable I have become about CRMs in general.
Pros
I like the customizability of Donor Perfect. You can add fields for anything you want to track or information you need to collect. I also love the customer support. They have the best customer service I've ever experienced and their representatives are knowledgeable. I always know that my problem will be solved when I reach out for help.

Very practical and easy to integrate
DonorPerfect is a very practical and easy to use CRM for nonprofits. It syncs up well with our accounting software. It is very simple to learn and get familiar with.
Pros
I love the integration between DP and Quickbooks. I can record donations so seamlessly and my workload is drastically reduced. It’s easy to spot errors in the CRM and correct them without creating a mess on our books.

There could be more robust reporting features. We rely on good data to drive decision making so we would like more intuitive reports.

DPO is a must for a small org
DPO has streamlined so much of the donor tracking work. I use it nearly every day even if it's to answer a question about a single donor.
Pros
DPO tracks as much or as little information as you want about a donor. It's a quick way to look up a single donor history OR create a report about giving history for a specific group. The customer service is also exceptional and knowledgeable.
Cons
The learning curve. Some tasks are a little harder to catch on to if it's not someones full time job to manage the system. That being said, the DPO team can throw a complicated filter together no problem!

Highly Recommend DP for NFP ||| Great for any experience in Resource Development

Cost is minimal compared to the previous NFP of a program with a price tag of $17,000 annually. They have a fantastic support team. Patient, knowledgeable, and fast chat support. Implementation exception. Webinar videos explain it all. Capable of starting from scratch or importing. We started from scratch and have built a donor database of over 1,000 in less than a month.

Very little other than standard field setup for Donor entry. Starts with the first line of address rather than the donor name, organization, or business.

Donor Perfect is a great asset!
I have only been using this program for about a year, and I have learned so much about how it works by asking questions and using the Knowledgebase. My first year working at NCCS was successful because of all the help I received along the way from the support team.

The Customer support at Donor Perfect is excellent. Everyone that I have spoken to about a problem or a even simple question has been knowledgeable, thorough and most of all, pleasant to work with.
