Overall it feels like we're stuck using them because they integrate and have international numbers. They are responsive but often not flexible.

Makes SMS and email automation easy and affordable!
Overall, my experience with Twilio has been fantastic. The platform exceeded my expectations by making SMS and email automation in India simple and cost-effective. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for reliable communication solutions.
Pros
What I liked most about Twilio was how effortlessly it integrated with our systems. The setup was straightforward, and the documentation made it even easier. The value for money is excellent, especially with the robust features for automating SMS and emails in India. It truly streamlined our communication processes.
Cons
While Twilio is generally user-friendly, I found that some advanced features have a bit of a learning curve. It took some time to fully grasp all the functionalities. Additionally, I noticed that customer support could be quicker in responding to inquiries.

Set It and Forget It
We use Twilio to send automated texts for bookings through an API. Twilio makes sending these texts super simple. I don't have to really worry about anything with it.
Pros
Once set up, it's very easy to use the tool to send texts. It ends up being a set it and forget it tool for us and just handles the texts for us through the API.
Cons
Setup is super complicated with seemingly multiple areas to setup the same things, but they're different features. It took us weeks to actually setup properly to start sending texts out.

Twilio as a great system analyzer
In general terms, I found the platform perfect mainly because of its simplicity and because it did not generate any inconvenience in its use. It also allowed the onboarding team to speed up the verification of requirements in order to continue with the processes without further delays.
Pros
I found the platform to be very simple but intuitive and at the same time fast and concise as an analyzer of the system data needed to apply for certain jobs that needed specific system requirements.
Cons
What I found less favorable about the platform was that, at least the first time I used it, when it was not so updated and I saw an error, it did not indicate what the specific error was, but it provided a code and then I had to consult the IT team to find out what needed to be fixed. Later that was corrected but maybe later on there will be some inconveniences like that.

We were scammed with sms fraud to the tune of 2000USD. Eventually they refunded us. However 2 months later they canceled our account because of a bank charge back which we had cancelled. Twilio in Recruitment
It does the job and is able to send messages to our candidates now that we have this set up. However, communication from Twilio itself hasn't been very clear and we would have preferred more available support in the early stages. The fact that this is already linked with our ATS so we don't have to add additional API has been hugely beneficial and a bit time saver for us.
Pros
Ability to link this to our ATS, enabling us to set up automated messages via Twilio
Cons
When trying to set Twilio up and getting a better understanding of its features I submitted several support requests that were unanswered or support staff didn't get in touch at the agreed time for a call. In the end we worked this out by linking un with the partner agency that supply our ATS as they already had an understanding of Twilio

The GOAT in SMS Marketing
Twilio is considered the GOAT in SMS Marketing for good reason.
They are trustworthy and reliable (I haven't had issues with SMS not going through), easy to use and schedule your marketing campaigns, and the analytics are solid.
The pricing is confusing at first, but once you kind of figure out how they charge you, you realize that their pricing is quite cheap.
There are other SMS Marketing options out there, but the dirty secret is that most of them still use a Twilio number and/or integration. Go to the source, use Twilio.
Pros

Easy to Use

The pricing model can be confusing to most at first.

Good add-on in JackRabbit to be able to text customers
My customers really appreciate timely text reminders rather than just emails. That is the functionality that I'm using Twilio to provide.
Pros
I use Twilio as part of my customer relationship management in JackRabbit. I like that I am able to quickly text individuals or groups of users when last-minute issues arise that I need to inform them of or reminders about our services that I need to send.
Cons
The initial setup of a phone number for use with Twilio was a little confusing as it wasn't clear that I could only select the phone number through Twilio. I also am annoyed by how many messages sometimes get rejected but I'm not sure that's really Twilio's fault.

Worth Purchasing
Pros
Twilio is fantastic for SMS (and calls, but our primary purpose for Twilio was SMS). You are able to mass text, schedule, and use personalization options, including dynamic variables. It's very convenient and probably the best SMS integration option available. We use it with our current marketing software system. It's incredibly easy to set up, get started, and maintain.
Cons
It is a little on the pricey side but very comparable to most SMS/VOIP systems available. You do have to pay per SMS and there are character limits so if you're sending one long message - you're paying for 4. But ultimately it is worth it.

Pros
We used Twillio as our primary phone tool to manage and distribute contacts between a large group of sales managers.
Each sales managers operates in their own market and language, due to this setup many other tools were skipped and Twilio actually solved this issue for us.
Cons

Good features, but terrible support service
Twilio: good features, terrible support service!
Pray you never need their support! I opened a ticket almost a week ago asking for a simple thing: deactivate 2FA to be able to migrate the WhatsApp Business Account (WABA).
Until today, they haven't resolved it. They take a long time to respond and send stupid questions. So far, they haven't done what I asked.
I'll miss a perfect time to migrate because of them.
Pros
Telephone number, WhatsApp Sender, and SMS with a good API integration.
Cons
The support service is terrible. There is no chat support for all customers (you have to pay for this support type in addition to the contracted service).
The ticket response time lasts an average of 24 hours. If it's an important issue your company will suffer the consequences.
I opened a simple ticket asking to turn off 2FA on my account to migrate the WhatsApp Business Account (WABA). It has been almost a week of messages exchanged and passed from one team to another without any solution to the case.

Reliable and effective automated call/text provider
Besides the pain points I mentioned above, Twilio has been a reliable text and call provider for our company. There are occasional outages, but they recover relatively quickly to minimize disruptions to their customers.
Pros
Twilio is very simple to use and easy to navigate. It's easy to find call and message records without too much trouble.
Cons
I wish there was a way to preview the content of the messages without having to click into it. You also cannot open the messages in a new tab, so it makes for having to troubleshoot and review messages a bit tedious to go back and scroll again.

Pros

Customer support is dificult to reach and unresponsive
We have been a SendGrid customer for about 7 months. We use the service to handle the transactional emails from our website. We have been satisfied with that service and decided to also use them for our marketing campaigns On September 30th we exported our MailChimp contacts and cleaned up the data. On October we upgraded our SendGrid plan to Basic 50k, contacted SendGrid support, informed them what we were doing and asked about the use of Tags. We then imported 47k contacts, prepared a time sensitive single send marketing piece which we released on October 2nd to our complete contact list. SendGrid shut down the campaign, disabled the links in the 13k emails that had been sent, making them useless, and suspended our account. We have been unable to reach SendGrid to resolve this. This action, and lack of it by Twillo/SendGrid has significantly impacted our business as the campaign was in support of a live continuing education course scheduled for Tuesday 10/3. At this point we are trying to salvage what we can by moving to another marketing service.
Pros
We were migrating our email marketing from MailChimp to Twillo's SendGrid. Relative to MailChimp we found SendGrid's email design tool to be more flexible and easier to use
Cons
Customer support: Two issues1 -Customer support is difficult to access. The support phone number listed on Google is disconnected, there is no chat, "Contact support" on the website requires the user to fill in a text box labeled "Tell us your issue." We've tried this multiple times only to get an error message: "There was an error retrieving results for your query. Please try again." We've managed to get multiple messages to SendGrid Support by responding to previous support ticket emails. I see some one at SendGrid has deleted all but one of these. Obviously someone knows we have an urgent issue but no response and it has been over 18 hours since our first request for support. 2. When we informed Customer support that we were migrating our marketing champagne from Mail Chimp to SendGrid they failed to inform us about the possibility of the automated account suspension we have encountered, and how to avoid it .

Poor customer service in Twilio
Being one of the major players in the market, Twilio has abused its position greatly! We and our customers consequentially, have experienced major service suspension in our US region. TBy not taking serious operational issues for their customer as a matter of priority they have caused us not only loss of revenue but impacted our reputation vastly. The interruption to services in the US area has been left unresolved for over 2 weeks, being transferred from department to department and mostly handled by AI very unsuccessfully and time consuming.Since it has been a reoccurring issue, and has been solved previously, it shows us that their client data and history management is very poor. Being a global service provider based in the US, they do not take into account the time zone differences and the customer support response time is appalling. The response time window doesn’t consider the time difference when the automation kicks in.
Pros
The software is easy to use and deploy, fair pricing
Cons
Level of customer service - our issue with the US carrier is being handled for more than 2 weeks with no success. And Twilio is based in the US.Use of AI in Customer support - no result, tons of disappointment.Kicking the ticket from one department to another knowing the importance of the matter for us and our customers.

Can be confusing.
Support is very clunky, product migration is incomplete to Kore.
Pros
It was one of few options available for the purpose in Hungary.
Cons
We received some programmable wireless SIMs and Super SIMs for IoT devices from our IoT partner that were already set up in Twilio. When we received these saying they were Twilio products, these products have been migrated to Kore (a different company who acquired Twilio's IoT products) but most of the functions can still be handled through Twilio. Not all of them, and this isn't clear until you run into an issue you can't solve and try to contact support - that is when we were redirected to Kore. However, not all of the products are fully migrated, eg. the programmable wireless products are still only available in Twilio. So the user is stuck using at least 6-8 different sites just two handle these two products. Not well designed from a user perspective, not easy to use at all. It can get super technical very quickly. AI support can be tricky to get through if you're trying to create a ticket and get human attention.

Terrible A2P Campaign Interface
I work with nearly 100 clients and I help them setup their Twilio accounts (we are a reseller). The process to get a verified campaign, brand, and messaging service is dismal despite even after 8 months of working with their new system. I do not understand how a company as large and as tech focused as twilio does not have better systems. Their asynchronous tasks rarely completely in the browser, the web interfaces glitches and flickers randomly, and the error messages are minimal and require getting in touch with their cookie cutter customer support team (zendesk). They also make you build your own menu, and the menu is always changing for some reason. I am writing this review out of frustration. I hope they get their act together. I am seriously considering taking my business elsewhere.

Can do everything, for all businesses but with a steep learning curve...
Twilio handles all the inbound calls for my website. I ported a vanity 800 number from a another provider to Twilio and after a quite lengthy setup process that involved lots of customer service calls it was up and running. After that you can pretty much leave it or do some minor changes relatively easy. Now when customers call they can choose from an option tree to troubleshoot their issue or they can choose to talk to an agent (me) and if it's during business hours the call gets forwarded to my cell, if outside of business hours they get my voicemail. Works great! I also have it embedded in my website for a chat option that more people actually use.
Pros
Twilio has every option under the sun, there's nothing call center related that they can't do for you. You could set up automated systems to perform mundane tasks for you, record and inscribe all your calls and even have a call center set up to help troubleshoot issues and direct calls. You can get add-ons from GitHub, integrate into your website especially Shopify and answer calls with a number that you can bring with you or they provide straight to your cell phone. We're talking local numbers and 800 numbers even though you may have to pay extra.
Cons
Very steep learning curve. There are so many options and so many ways to use this service including third party apps that you could get confused quite easily. Also their 2FA process is tedious which if you're not careful could result in you losing your number.

It works really well, they are good at making sure users are compliant with relevant regulations.
Cons
