Workday HCM Review
My experience with Workday HCM has been largely favorable, thanks to its user-friendly design and comprehensive HR functionalities. The platform excels in delivering real-time insights and simplifying processes like payroll, talent management, and compliance tracking. While initial setup and learning took time, the long-term benefits of improved efficiency and accessibility outweighed these challenges.
Pros
Its comprehensive features, including workforce planning, talent management, and payroll integration, streamline HR processes effectively. The real-time analytics and reporting tools provide actionable insights, empowering data-driven decision-making.
Cons
Customization options, while extensive, can be complex and sometimes require technical expertise or vendor assistance. The cost of implementation and maintenance may be high for smaller organizations. Performance can occasionally be slower during peak usage times, which can be frustrating

Seamless experience for the employee
It seems like a tool that allows a lot of integrations which allows for efficiencies and gives the feeling of just one comprehensive tool for everything HR. And one can use it on the go through the app
Pros
I have only recently started using Workday, but it seems like a good tool that allows many integrations and therefore the feeling for the end user is that it is a comprehensive tool.
Beyond the standard HR information one might need (salary, time off, etc.), my skills profile (from the recruitment stage) is integrated with the skill-building systems (courses, etc.) and the mentoring platform of the company.
Another couple of feature I found useful (especially as a new starter) were the admin assistance chat, also integrated within the platform and the org chart.
Logging in is made easy and they offer an app.
Cons
Nothing major negative to report at this stage.

Powerful and Scalable, but Complex and Costly
robust, comprehensive platform for managing HR processes, from payroll to talent management. Its user-friendly interface and real-time analytics make it efficient for HR teams, while the self-service features empower employees and managers. However, the system can be complex to navigate initially, and customization may require significant time and resources. While it’s a scalable solution for large organizations, its cost and implementation time can be challenging, particularly for smaller companies. Despite these challenges, its integration capabilities, global reach, and security features make it a strong choice for businesses with complex HR needs.
Pros
Workday HCM is praised for its user-friendly interface, comprehensive functionality (covering HR, payroll, talent management), and real-time analytics for data-driven decisions. It offers global capabilities, making it ideal for multinational organizations, and self-service features that empower employees and managers. The system is cloud-based, ensuring easy access and automatic updates, and supports customization to fit unique business needs. With strong security, integration capabilities, and robust support, Workday is a scalable and flexible solution for modern HR management.
Cons
complexity for new users, requiring extensive training, and time-consuming customization. It can be expensive, with high licensing and implementation costs, and has limited reporting flexibility. Large organizations may experience performance issues, and integration setup can be challenging. The mobile app is less intuitive, and long implementation times can delay deployment.

Workday HCM making things easier
Overall, using workday HCM has been amazing. With minor improvements can help alot.
Pros

Pros

Automated invoicing streamlines financial tasks, saving time and energy on such tasks. It is also a perfect solution for remote and global teams.
Cons

Strongest HCM we were able to identify
Very satisfied with Workday as a tool, we have recently conducted an internal assessment of how satisfied we are with the tool and it has highlighted very few areas where the tool is not meeting our needs. We see the tool as a long term solution for our organisation.
Pros
All requirements in one place, and more. Meaning we were able to centralise and transform (in an agile way) our HR processes as we implemented.
Alerts allow for end users to engage and be engaged with using a sensible approach.
All data in one place allows for reporting and budgeting to be easy.
Cons
Implementation was sticky for us. We had a number of requirements which we thought were typical however had to create significant work-arounds in order to meet our needs. This was resource heavy from our perspective and elongated the implementation (we used an implementation partner and not Workday FYI)

Highly promising sometimes a little high on the click
Workday's strategy to build a simple and highly configurable product that is relatively simple to maintain on a low training level makes it an exceptionally adequate product. Their blockchain strategy for the future is an exceptionally promising concept. Example: Basically once locked in i.e. a formal background check can be locked in, and for future chchecks one would only need to update the gap since the last check, this can make the whole process very efficient and effective putting way less strain on employment checks, less external agency cost and so forth.
Pros
it's exceptionally well built for user configuration with it's highly flexible drag and drop customisation "out of the box"
Cons
it can be very "click heavy" to complete a workflow and having two browser windowns open with workday at the same time can cause glitching.

Always Evolving HR System
I enjoy using Workday HCM as it's a one stop shop for our company's HR data. Moving to Workday was a big improvement from our previous HR system where we had an account per country, totalling to over 10 accounts. I would say there is a steep learning curve in the beginning as an Admin and even for employees. And the training and certificates are overpriced so I have had to learn how to configure/use Workday through other mediums.
Pros
It can be used globally. The user interface and usability is easy to understand (similar to Facebook's interface), the ability to customize, the different modules and features it supports. The tool is always evolving as the company has 2 releases every year.
Cons
It is created for the US by the US. It does not accommodate for international laws and compliance resulting in us having multiple tools to support international countries.

Automation is a great way to save time and improve productivity and accuracy. Workday HCM is an empowering tool.

Make your workday, workweek, and work year easier
We tried for years to handle payroll on our own. We were lucky that we did not make any grievous mistakes during that time. Once we realized just how little we did know about payroll and tax compliance, we were terrified that we could be doing something that would jeopardize our non-profit status. We initially considered bringing on a new staff member to do nothing but payroll. When we realized just how expensive this addition would be, we opted to look for software options. Workday has checked every box we needed.
Pros
We are a non-profit organization. Our entire business model is based on supplementing the very low fees we charge our clients with donations from generous individuals and companies. These donations are contingent upon us maintaining compliance as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. There are simply too many regulations and annual changes to payroll statutes for any of our current staff to keep abreast of, and hiring a staff member with the necessary knowledge and skillset is cost-prohibitive. Workday, in essence, gives us that new staff member. For significantly less than an employee would cost, we are able to operate with full confidence that all of our needs are being met.
Cons
The initial implementation was fairly intensive. However, once we completed that phase, we have had no complaints about the time or effort involved in using Workday.

Excellent Design and Functionality
Pros
From an employee's perspective, it's incredibly intuitive and easy to use. The mobile support is excellent. It greatly enhances the convenience of HR tasks like payroll, leave management, performance tracking, and organizational charts.
Cons
From a user's perspective, there are no real drawbacks. The functionality and design are both excellent. However, from a company's standpoint, the cost can be a burden depending on the organization's size.

Work Day App.
I really like it, very convenient when you have mutable task to do and also nice that you can look at any past pay stubs if needed. Very helpful in tracking your vacation time.
Pros
It is pretty easy to navigate through once you have done it several times.
It auto fills your work days, so unless your work week changes, it is very fast to submit your work time.
I really like that everything (payroll, vacation, etc..) are all in one location.
I like the option of being able to use on my work computer or personal phone
Cons
Although I know it is a good idea, having to use the authenticator is a little bit of a hassle. I am not sure if it is my phone or the app. but occasionally I have to restart my phone to get the app to open.

Great cloud features, industry standard.
My overall experience with Workday HCM has been positive, though with a few learning curves. The platform offers a wide range of HR tools that are highly integrated, making it easy to manage everything from hiring to performance reviews in one place. I appreciate the user-friendly interface, but some of the more advanced features, like custom reporting, require a bit of a deeper dive to fully understand. The mobile app is incredibly convenient, allowing me to access what I need from anywhere. It’s a powerful system, but getting the most out of it can take some time.
Pros
Workday HCM is a well designed, cloud-based HR management platform that simplifies everything from payroll to talent management. The interface is intuitive, though navigating some advanced features can take time to master. Its mobile accessibility is a standout, making it easy for employees and managers to handle tasks on the go.
Cons
Custom reporting can be a bit complex for non-technical users, but the ability to export and import from excel make this easier.

Workday is an excellent platform to manage your pay stubs and work related lessons!
Workday is so awesome for getting my paystubs and lessons and quizzes for work, and updating my personal contact info, in one easy, centralized space. The app is easy enough for everyone from younger employees to middle aged and older employees to use with little to no assistance from a manager.
Pros
I love that I can easily see and print my paystubs, lessons are easy to find and watch and show a due date so I know when to complete my work, and the app is super user friendly!
Cons

Sounds good at board level - very poor user experience
My workday experiences have been worse than poor. Its almost as if its been deliberately designed to irritate me while I'm trying to get my work done!
Pros
Very little. My experience of Workday implementations are that they are over engineered, and seem to exist for the sake of the ego of executives rather than the users

Generally good, but a bit tricky to learn and hard to integrate with other systems
Overall, I use Workday most days. Being able to find everything in one place is great, and the ability to run reports to check on training courses etc. is good. It is easy for the instructional designers to upload courses and track completions, and the HR team can run an array of different reports and control access to sensitive data.
Pros
We use Workday HCM at the moment, and it is very powerful, linking talent management, holidays, payroll and benefits. We recently merged systems with another company's systems, and this was tricky but worked well in the end.
Cons
I dislike the fact that Workday will time out annoyingly quickly if you are writing something like a staff review, losing your work irrevocably. I believe this may be a setting changeable by our IS team, but the cloud-based nature of Workday means that it can be fragile to bad connections etc. We have also not yet been able to integrate it into our ADP system for parts of the business, so some managers can't approve leave if their employee works in a different location.

I used Workday on a weekly basis while at a Senior Customer Service Respresentative role. The interface was intuitive and it had notifications to elt me know when there was a completed lesson for the learning section. Never had any major issues signing up for or attending these lessons.
Pros

Workday HRM Gereat Tool for HR Tasks, but Could Be Faster.
Overall my experience with Workday has been great. It makes tracking payroll, time management, and benefits easier for managers and employees. Once you get used to it, it's a very helpful tool. I would like to see it get faster in the future, and maybe simplify the reports to be more readable by non HR professionals.
Pros

Cons
