The collaboration tool can be used to work on files within Microsoft 365 apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Sharepoint. Additional features include open application processing interface, assistant bots, conversation search, contact search, and multi-factor authentication. Microsoft Teams integrates with third-party applications such as GitHub, Microsoft Office, Power BI, Delve, Planner, Trello and more. The application is available on a one-time subscription and support is available via phone and online help desk.

My experience with Microsoft Teams

By far its amongs the best online meeting platforms.

Pros

Its a good products when it comes to intergrating the staff on ground and at the office. The document sharing works perfectly and the juggling between the screens is very swift. It can accommodate a large capacity crowd.whether for teaching, church or company meetings you enjoy Teams at the comfort of your home.

Cons

Audio and video breaking up in the midst of a very large meeting and important at that. Relies solely on network connectivity

Teams makes collaboration easier

Overall I have had a great experience with Microsoft teams. The ability to hold high quality video calls and interactive presentations is better than other equivalent platforms. However the integration with programmes such as PowerPoint could be improved.

Pros

The ability to communicate with colleagues and collaborate with clients using the powerful conference call feature.

Cons

Sometimes the communication with other Microsoft apps is not best optimised.

Microsoft Teams - great at a lot, not so much in NDI

It has been mostly good, the move over to the new Teams interface has caused a couple of odd bugs, however, these are bugs that they can fix.

Pros

It is very easy to setup meetings, townhalls, live events, webinars, etc. compared to other platforms.

Cons

The NDI functionality within Teams is exceptionally buggy at the moment with inconsistent functionality. We will have the NDI working flawlessly today, and tomorrow it won't work... on the same computer and same account.

Seamless Work Communication

Teams is an integral part of my daily work. I use it to collaborate with my team on time sensitive matters when emails may otherwise be lost in the shuffle.

Pros

Teams makes it simply to seamlessly collaborate with colleagues in real time. Project-based chat conversations allow for us to remain in constant communication. Switching between chat and voice and video calls is also an integral part of our consultative work.

Cons

The only downside I've experienced with Teams is trouble connecting on calls across different Teams instances or when using a VPN. However, these issues have been minimal and have not affected my overall opinion.

An Amazing Software To Allow Remote Integration Of Users

Pros

Teams allowed our users to interact in a way not possible before, which was integral at the start of the Pandemic.

We went from users having little to no access to other users and the environment outside of work, to a full blown remote workplace.

Without Teams, we never could have completed this as fast and seamlessly. It was an integral part of the ongoing transition, even with more people back in the office more regularly.

Cons

Issues with some of the versions caused confusion amongst users.

Sometimes crashes or freezing depending on the machine.

Cons

The best video conferencing tool for IT industry

Overall the experience with Microsoft teams has been great as it is a versatile tool and all of my team members including me rely on it daily to efficiently communicate and carry out our daily work. Teams allows us to create different channels for different projects which makes it very flexible.

Pros

The best thing about Microsoft teams is that we can work remotely through teams and it also supports third party integrations. I am able to share files , communicate with other team members , setup status calls and provide knowledge transfer sessions through efficient screen sharing and video recording. It is compatible for android and IOS devices and also provides data security.

Cons

The advance functionalities of teams are available through paid plans which are a bit costly.Sometimes managing a large number of teams notifications from different channels can be difficult and teams rely on a n active internet connectivity else there are system lags.

Great Message Center!

My overall experience with Microsoft Teams has been great. I like that I can easily contact coworkers quickly while also helping students when they have questions outside of class.

Pros

Microsoft Teams is a great tool for teachers and staff. At my school, we use Teams to communicate with other teachers. I like that you can have Teams automatically open when you sign into your computer. This helps incase you forgot to turn it on. I use it all the time to ask other teachers questions or to contact the front office. It will give you a notification popup whenever you receive a message. During Covid, our school used Microsoft Teams for virtual classes. It was very easy to set up my classes and have my students logged in. My web camera was easily connected so students could view the whiteboard.

Cons

One con about Microsoft Teams is there seem to be a couple of different versions of Teams. When I sign into my PC, once in a while it will sign into the wrong account so I won't see messages sent to me. I have to physically go into teams, sign out, and sign back into the right account. I have not figured out how to fix this yet.

Pros

Teams, come for the chats stay for the rest

Our company has been using Teams since 2019 or so. We have seen significant adoption of it and our IT department uses it heavily amongst ourselves. One of the major issues with Teams is there is just too much that can be done with it. It is impossible to figure it all out.

Pros

Simple to chat, Video call, audio call. Spaces for file sharing and other things with co-workers. Seeing their Free/Busy status is nice. I also enjoy being able to attach custom names to groups which adds a bit of fun.

Cons

Teams are a bit cumbersome to use. Some change Microsoft made also made sharing files with others, for editing at least, much more difficult. Want them to get a file they can download? No problem. Need them to edit it? Painful. I am signed in on Mobile and I am never sure if my status changes to show me as unavailable.

Good but with reliability issuees and without GNU/linux Support!

In fact, despite all the problems, it can get better with good software and some development. But unfortunately I can't trust it at the moment.

Pros

I use Microsoft Teams at a University. It is nice to have a complete software. We can share files with our colleagues. We can also save time by working jointly on some documents. It is also nice that it is extensible and has a lot of add-ons. For example, we have installed the tasks application, so we can assign tasks immediately and follow who is doing them. It's also nice to have a smartphone app.

Cons

Although it is a nice software in general, I don't want to work with it for two main reasons. Firstly, Linux support is very bad. Secondly, sometimes our files are lost. The interface is slow. Recently, some of our files were lost, including the pictures of the teams we set up. Also, when I tried to use the Office application in it, I typed the title and it deleted it immediately during autosave. I was using it before because it was the official system of our school, but now I'm starting to think that we need to switch to a different system. It is also necessary to back up the files frequently.

Pros

Generally speaking, Teams is a great collaborative platform, offering all tools and features you need in order to work with fellow colleagues better and more efficiently.

Cons

Although Teams has everything needed to be a great collaborative platform, the layout compared to competitors in the same market, lacks and is confusing. This lets Teams down where it could be a really incredible product all round.

Pros

The responsive nature of the software, configurable to ensure users can communicate with relevant people. Lots of available plug ins to add additional features and link in with other software

Cons

The search feature could be improved, quite often i know i have had a conversation with someone around a specific topic however when using the search it does not come up. Also when searching for recent conversations, trying to get to group chats or similar the history of chats isnt that long and sometimes i need to resort to searching all messages to find one from the group chat, to then get access to the group chat.

I Love Teams!

My overall experience has been great. It is very easy to use to communicate whether a small or large group.

Pros

The thing I love most about Teams is the ease of use. From instant messages to using Adobe, it is the best interoffice communications program to use.

Cons

The only complaint I have ever had about Teams is when they updated it. It deleted my Adobe suite and I had to redo the whole thing.

Pro Suite: Good for Business, OK for Colloboration

Overall, it is a preferred method of communication on our team. Easy to use and set-up. Functions on both mobile and desktop devices. If you can get accept a few occasional bugs and lags, Microsoft Teams is a premiere suite that offers a lot for your professional team.

Pros

Quick and efficient messaging. Multi-media sharing options for team collaboration. Integration with Microsoft suite enabling you to review and edit documents quickly. Reactions -- simple and a clear way to respond without having to type a full message. Live statues to update others where you are and when you are available. App integrations with Todoist, Redflag, and other services we use daily. Video calls and phone calls with ease from both my computer and from my phone.

Cons

The interface can be unreliable. Changes layout and views of certain documents when viewed on desktop versus within Teams. Some minor bugs with video and camera being recognized. Some de-sync from time to time between phone and computer. Some loss of connection where I do not receive messages until much later in the day.

Teams is easy to use, but has pitfalls for new users.

Instant messaging , meetings and ad hoc video calls could not be easier. However sharing documents which are hosted in sharepoint can become confusing.

Pros

Teams has easy to use collaborative tools and functions that empower you to work remotely with all the benefits of being in the office.

Cons

Teams has a dependency upon a well organised SharePoint structure, and this concept can be difficult to convey to new users.

Microsoft Teams

Overall, I really like Microsoft Teams based on the ability to have instant Chat conversations as well as the ability to schedule meetings without major restrictions.

Pros

I like the ability to schedule meetings and send out links either via a meeting planner or create my own email and include the link. I like that we can hold meetings without time restraints. I also like the Chat feature to stay in instant contact with others.

Cons

I do not have any Cons at the moment. Initially, I would have stated a Con as having difficulty in starting meetings because I would "lose" the link. However, after realizing that I could click on the calendar icon and join the meeting from the scheduled meeting, I was good. I guess this was more so user error than an actual issue with Teams (lol).

Reasons for Switching to Microsoft Teams

I use Microsoft Teams as well as another alternative product. Depending on what we are doing determines which product will be used.

Microsoft Teams, Your friend to no end..

I love it!! I even love it for our team meetings over zoom!! When we had background photo contests at work, there was a way to incorporate us all together in the photo as if we were really in the room together!! That was bomb!!

Pros

I love the ease and user friendly functionality of the app.. specifically the ease of locating a team member in teams, and being able to call them regularly, or via video call.. I also love the ease of sharing documents and resources.. I love it all!!

Cons

I don’t really have a complaint about trans, except for the fact that when a notification comes in, teams pops up as the primary window to show you the message right away.. I would love it if there was a way to deactivate that..

A Powerful Collaboration Tool with Room for Improvement

Overall, my experience with Microsoft Teams has been positive. It’s an excellent tool for collaboration, offering a wide range of features like instant messaging, video conferencing, file sharing, and seamless integration with other Microsoft Office apps. It’s been particularly useful for organizing team communication and staying connected, especially in remote work settings. However, there are areas where it could improve, such as the user interface and performance, which can sometimes feel slow or overwhelming with notifications. Despite these minor drawbacks, it remains an essential platform for team collaboration and project management.

Pros

I love how easy it is to set up virtual meetings and video conferences with Teams. The quality is consistently good, and features like screen sharing and breakout rooms enhance productivity

Cons

One thing I find frustrating about Microsoft Teams is the amount of notifications. It can become overwhelming, especially when you're part of multiple teams and channels, and it's sometimes hard to keep track of what's important.

Workplace efficiency has never been better!

Pros

By far, the best part about Teams is the ability to communicate with people at all times and how easy it has made collaborative work no matter where each employee is located. The ease of sharing files, holding calls, and sending messages is a leg above the competition. It has combined into one platform what I used to have three apps to perform. And I love that it fully integrates with Office 365!

Cons

It does not impact me directly, but I could see how needing a Microsoft account to log in could be a deterrent.

Cons

The interface for files copy/move is cumbersome. It suggests recent of favorite locations but does not provide a means to look up a location that is not suggested. A simple file explorer like navigation would easily resolve this.

Great for Teamwork, but Takes Some Getting Used To

My overall experience with Microsoft Teams has been quite good. The platform is really excellent in bringing all the principal tools for collaboration—whether it be chat, video conferencing, or document sharing—under one roof. This has made working in a team much easier, more so when working remotely. I will appreciate how Teams accommodated structured and informal communication, where it was easy to move from scheduled meetings to quick chats without leaving the platform. Although I appreciate most of its inclusive features, there have been moments when I felt that the interface was cluttered and that learning how to make one's way around the options takes time. Beyond these minor difficulties, Teams took productivity and communication in my team to a different level, making it a platform where everyone logs in daily for collaboration.

Pros

What I like most about Microsoft Teams is the seamless way in which it can be integrated with the entire Microsoft 365 suite. This helps in collaborating on documents, spreadsheets, and presentations super easily right within the platform. Having all your tools—chats, video calls, sharing of files—all in one place reduces the switching time from one app to another, hence saving time and making the workflow more efficient. Aside from that, the versatility of supporting scheduled meetings and impromptu conversations can serve different working styles, whether it's a formal project discussion or a quick informal check-in with somebody. Another key differentiator is its reliable video and audio quality, even in large meetings, further refining the remote collaboration experience.

Cons

What I like least about Microsoft Teams is that sometimes it feels quite overwhelming, be it a new user or someone not so much into technology. Though powerful with as many features and options as it comes, it creates a pretty steep learning curve and sometimes may confuse people where certain tools or settings are located. Moreover, the platform can be a bit resource-intensive; on older devices, or when many resource-demanding applications are working, it might cause occasional slowdowns or lag. By and large, performing well, these minor misbehaviours are inclined to disturb the smooth experience slightly.

We often meet for team projects and constant updates keep us on the same page and enable us strategize and meet our goals and objectives

Pros

Microsoft Teams has been our ultimate collaboration tool in our organization. Given that most of our work is collective and usually divided as team projects, we appreciate that Microsoft Teams has become our easy to use partner in these group projects. It integrates seamlessly with Microsoft 365 apps which enable us import and export data from this apps seamlessly. Individual and group chats enable us to instantly message team members for feedback or any discussion. Additionally it enable us to send files to my coworkers. Usually when I want to focus on work item, I mute the conversations and will later get back to them. We have been able to create chat channel for different topics and this make it easy to resolve issues of separate topics. With only relevant messages on different channels it saves us time of scrolling through lots of clutter message. Microsoft Teams provide us with everything we need to collaborate live on realtime. Accessing all Microsoft apps from one point, calls and videoconferences enable us to work efficiently. Microsoft Teams mobile app is convenient and enable us to meet at our own comfort without having to be in the same location. Really love Teams - would highly recommend.

Really enjoy this software. It's a great way for teams to stay connected, to get a hold of someone quickly or do meetings or trainings easily within the organization.

Pros

I like the user-friendliness of Teams. It's easy for anyone to use, including people who have never used software such as this before. You can create groups, share files, create polls, screen record training sessions and so much more. If you ever used MSN Messenger back in the days, this is like a ramped up version of it! Lots of businesses use Teams so it's easy to set up a meeting and add a Teams link to have your meeting through. There are also no time limits which is a great feature. I really like how you can have live reactions in the Teams meetings as well (such as clapping hands if congratulating a teammate on a job well done) etc.

Cons

One feature I dislike about Teams is that you can't add people from other networks to your Teams chats. You can connect with people through Teams meetings links outside of your organization, but you can't just start up a chat with them like you can with people inside of your organization.

Cons

The interface can be cluttered and overwhelming at times, and performance can slow down with larger or more complex data. Also, notifications can sometimes be excessive and distracting, and third-party integrations occasionally have compatibility issues.
