PayChex is one of the best and easiest payroll programs
Payroll processing is tedious and time-consuming, but PayChex simplifies things significantly. Having a professional create and update the guidebook for you is also a huge assistance.
Pros
Payroll processing for my business can be done whenever I want, the interface is intuitive, and all employees have access to their own data for purposes of audits and tax filings. The time I used to spend on payroll and tax preparation is now mine. I was relieved to have access to Paychex reports when a PPP opportunity presented itself.
Cons
They're doing their best to improve the system, but in the meanwhile, it can be inconvenient to use while they work on it.

Paychex Flex is worth the cost!
We have been using it for quite a few years now I took over as Director in 2019 and have been using it myself since then. We use it to pay our staff and have never had any issues with they make sure to always let us know when we need to run it early due to holidays closures from the bank.
Pros
I like that Paychex flex allows multiple users to log in and work on payroll to allow for each person in each department to enter there staff hours.
Cons
There customer service isn't the best there are times it is hard to get ahold of our customer service representative and the representatives seem to have a high turn over rate.

This is my 1st time working with PAYCHEX so I’m learning something new everyday. Overall I would describe my experience as FAIR. I need to spend more time learning about the system, take more trainings to be able to make PAYCHEX work for me to be more efficient and effective for me
Pros

The HR business partner feature. Our rep is extremely knowledgeable, helpful & relatable. It cost a little extra but the advise given is worth it & has helped me with terminations, leave absences, discipline issues, etc

Great App For Getting Paid
My overall experience is not bad. Its a great app that offers a good amount of features I just would prefer an easier to understand app.
Pros
I love that Paychex offers a pay now option where you can get paid before pay day so that you dont have to wait to get paid to pay your bills or overdraft your accounts. It charges a small fee but absolutely worth it.
Cons
The app is slightly glitchy and they do maintenance often on the app. The apps dashboard is slightly confusing but it is customizable.

My Experience with Paychex Flex: Handy but not Perfect.
My overall experience has been good not much great it really help me I can do multiple work with it like handling my tax or time off requests and it has limited customization which is very concerning I wish I could customize dashboard more as per my need.
Pros
I like how easy its interface is very straightforward and user friendly. I can easily find any detail regarding paycheck or other benefits information also I love the mobile app its really a game changer. I can do my work even if I am not my desktop.
Cons
What I dislike about Paychex Flex is that sometime it does not load properly or its get slow which is irritating when I am in hurry also it literally bombarded me with notification which cause sometime I miss important notification.

Good choice for payroll and HR management
This was the program used at a business where I was a senior manager. I used both sides of the service and never felt like it was difficult to use.
Pros
This HR/payroll tool is easy to use for both the HR team and the users. It's very intuitive. Employees can easily update their own banking information and access their pto and pay stubs easily. It's also easy for office staff to make updates.
Cons
Like so many office software programs, there are many opportunities to add services which really brings the price up. It costs more for training and benefit administration, and for time tracking. Make sure you look at the whole cost before you switch to it.

Great time tracking software
Employees immediately appreciated the ease of clocking in and out using the Time Clock. With features like biometric login and mobile app integration, employees could quickly clock in from anywhere, at their desks, on the job site, or working remotely. This flexibility significantly improved the accuracy of time tracking, as employees no longer had to rely on remembering to clock in manually.
Pros
The customer service when we need guidance on using the software or need assistance with any errors that need correcting.

Paychex Flex -- A Payroll Must-Have
Overall, I really like Paychex Flex. Even when I have an issue, I am able to call and speak with an agent who can resolve my issue. Their agents are very courteous and professional. They're even able to get everything squared away on just one call. They have excellent Customer Service and I really like the online portal. I would definitely recommend Paychex Flex to employers.
Pros
The ease and convenience of the online access was great. it just made clocking-in and out, and keeping track of time so easy for me. I loved being able to see my total amount of worked hours approved by management for the next payroll cycle. Having an online portal which allows you to access your payroll time and your documents (pay stubs, W-2, etc...) all from one place, is a huge life-saver.
Cons
Sometimes it will lock you out of your account. When you change/update the phone number on your account, it saves it to your online profile but for some reason it doesn't update their verification log. This means that when you attempt to login from your new phone and the system doesn't recognize it, it will naturally attempt to verify your identity, but unfortunately it attempts to send the verification text/call to the old phone number instead of the new one, despite having updated your account details online already.

Easy all in one payroll platform
I absolutely enjoy using it and love the simplicity of it and how easy it is for anyone to be able to navigate successfully without having to require any additional assistance
Pros
The fact that you can use platform to complete approval of time, time clock, payroll processing, and scheduling time off. Which I feel prevents using multiple platforms which may cause issues with certain tasks possibly being able to be overlooked.
Cons
I would just think that the price for the service could be a little lower and across the board for all features available

Just Okay?
Pros
I think one of the best features of Paychex Flex is the wide range of features it offers, including payroll processing, HR management tasks, and attendance tracking.
Cons
There are some notable cons:
The customer service is absolutely horrendous. It can take days to hear from your account manager. If you speak with a customer service representative, they always suggest contacting your account manager.
The website was completely unusable when trying to process payroll. If you had to make any adjustments, it could take a day of just lagging since everyone else was using the website.

Paychex Flex is clean and intuitive.
Paychex Flex is a convenient and functional solution for both employers and employees. While it has room for improvement, it's still a solid choice for companies looking to streamline HR and payroll processes.
Pros
One of the standout features is the ability to view and manage payroll on the go. I can quickly check pay stubs, tax information, and even benefits, all in one place. It's also great for employees who need to clock in or out remotely to review their schedules. The flexibility to access this information at any time is a real plus.
Cons

Expensive & Frustrating Company and Service
We switched to Paychex for their Employee Retention Credit filing services, and they seemed like they'd be more involved and personal than our previous provider. However, things turned south and they drop the personal touch once you're established. They're a decent payroll provider, but the lack of transparency with invoicing and dashboard navigation issues are concerning.
Pros
Paychex onboarding is great. The main dashboard became easier and easier to use, and there's a lot of features that come with a basic subscription and more you can add.
Cons
The extra features are pushed HARD by their teams. Their retirement savings team was almost predatory with how they sold the product, constant calls, applying pressure to make a decision, and more. Once we started with their HR service, things just got worse. These features get more and more expensive with less and less that they offer, but you're under contract. The invoicing gets obfuscated so you don't know what money is being charged for, and you have to be on top of them to not make errors or mistakes.
The platform itself can be confusing with many features not having a menu button, requiring access strictly through an notification card on the dashboard homepage.
Reasons for Choosing Paychex Flex
ADP lacked a personal representative that we could work out issues with and wasn't proactive, especially with the Employee Retention Credit.Switched From

Chik-fil-A of HRIS Systems! You will be delighted at their Customer Service Levels!
I like Paychex, especially their customer service. I get assigned a payroll specialist who is dedicated to our team here. We also get a dedicated HRBP who helps us with compliance issues and make sure that we are utilizing all of the Paychex offerings available to us. She alone has made our jobs a lot easier. I can't say enough about Paychex Customer Service. I have a direct email to my Client Services Rep and they respond in minutes, plus they are professional and NICE! They are patient and work along side us to solve problems and give solutions. It's seriously like the Chik-fil-a of HRIS systems when it comes to Customer Service.
Pros
Ease of use and product offering is well rounded, great for a mid-sized company like ours.
Cons
The reporting is awful. It's a very inflexible system and literally my only complaint about the entire product. I wish they could get this right, it would elevate my experience 10 fold.

Pros

Cons

Useful application, but room for more flexibility
Overall I think it's good, but of course there is room for improvement on how flexible it really can be for users.
Pros
My favorite thing is that I can see all my tax forms on Paychex, that way I don't need to worry about losing my papers or asking someone for another copy.
Cons
I don't like that it limits how soon you can clock in and out. Sometimes I go on my break, but minutes later they ask me to come back and help someone else. But because you have to wait a bit before you can clock back in, it blocks you. Or at least that has been my experience.

Who was the Challenge
Very frustrating. Time and Attendance wasnot set up to cover varied time schedules. Majority of our staff work 7 hours or less and it calculated employees PTO at 8 hours.
Pros
We had a difficult payroll and many on the implementation team became frustrated all except our Payroll Manager. She was patient and work with us to get a great product. Even when we decided to leave Paychex, she follow-up to see if we still needed their services until our new payroll vendor was able to get our payroll set up in their system.
Cons
The system is hard to use. Many of the features convert back to original features. The system nor the training received from the implementaion team did not allow the Administrator to make minimal employee information changes. This was frustrating. Also, the assist feature was outdated and was hard to follow the steps to rectify an issue using the help assistant. As well, CSR was not able to assist with any issues either. Very frustrating.

More experience needed for Account Managers
We had 3 account managers with Paychex Flex, the first 2 had challenges following thru on items, so we requested new account managers. We discovered that account manager is an entry level position, all seasoned account managers have been promoted to specialists or phone customer service representatives. We finally received an account manager who had been an account manager for 5 years, called a senior account manager, but he wasn't very helpful and spoke mostly in "corporate speak" - not super helpful. He could at least understand what the problem was we were having, but he would have to pass along an internal ticket to get problems resolved.
Pros
It was user friendly in it set up and functions, however too many items required personal service running accurate payroll which required phone calls to account managers.
Cons
The account manager role is an entry level position at Paychex, so nearly all calls to account managers resulted in a response of "let me check with my manager and I'll get back to you".

Provided through my previous employer!
Content with the services it provided to me at that time, which was through my previous employer. Used about 1.6 years! (1y, 6m)
Pros
Only used until upgraded to different provider/platform altogether!
Cons
I never had a problem with this software, honestly. ESPECIALLY compared to some/other providers of the same functions/purpose.

Paychex Flex User
Okay experience overall but found it difficult to use at times.
Pros
Easy to access from home
Cons
Too many features difficult to use or wasn't set up on my account. Many reports didn't pull when requested. Didn't have reports available in Excel format.
