Both platforms handle Microsoft's own updates well, but applications like Chrome, Firefox, Adobe Reader, Java, and Zoom are left to manual packaging, testing, and deployment. Patch Connect Plus closes that gap. It tracks vendor releases across a catalog of 800+ supported applications, builds the update packages, and publishes them to SCCM or Intune on your behalf, typically within 6 to 9 hours of a vendor release. The catalog covers 1200+ deployment-ready patches in total. For SCCM, it installs as a native plugin and auto-detects applications already installed on client machines, so new software gets added to your patch management workflow without manual tracking. For Intune, it connects through the Microsoft Graph API and works with a standard Intune license. You don't need Intune Plan 2, Microsoft Entra ID P2, or the Enterprise App Management add-on. Both platforms can run from the same Patch Connect Plus instance, so organizations migrating from SCCM to Intune, or managing both at once, don't need separate tools. New updates publish automatically as vendors release them. You control how long superseded updates and applications stick around, with retention and deletion rules you set yourself. Deployment templates handle common install behaviors, like skipping updates while an app is running or suppressing shortcuts, and custom pre- and post-deployment scripts cover anything the templates don't. Patch Connect Plus also includes SCCM Right Click Tools, a set of 28 admin tools split across on-demand client actions, client troubleshooting, and system management, for day-to-day SCCM administration beyond patching. There are some documents/info on it's website to configure it. Additionally, the product can also create packages for software deployments on SCCM automatically which is a game changer in my opinion. It supports over 1K 3rd party software and the installation parameters are also in the software packages. It's literally just-one-click operation.
