HR worthy app
We use Homebase for our employees. It has an onboarding feature that handles ssn and direct deposit info, which is helpful at the end of the year as well. You can schedule your employees so that they can see their schedules right away. There is a quick pay feature. The chat rooms came in handy for daily medical notes for our staff and we could reference things that happened for each client as far back as we needed to go. Homebase really help streamline alot of HR tasks. I would recommend it.

I really liked the scheduling feature and the onboardinh payroll features. Also the chat was great.

Having to sign into a desk top for some management features.

Great customer service & easy platform
Great! Customer service is what stands out by far. The few times that I have had to call for help, your team has been warm, friendly and very knowledgable.

I regret purchasing Homebase
We are on the essentials plan. We have 45 employees. some of those employees are able to do more than 1 job. some of those jobs are a higher paying position (like bartender vs busboy)
When you hire a bartender at $15 per hour, if that bartender picks up a job as a busboy at $10 per hour - the software won't allow you have that bartender get paid at $10 unless you upgrade to their "plus" plan.
What was not explained was why this just became an issue in december 2023 and was not an issue when we onboarded all employees in september.
for that reason - i will not be renewing and will be sourcing a new sofrware. if i'm going to pay a higher cost, it wont be for the lack of customer service i've recieved to date.
i'll gladly update this review if the team can fix my issue but based on the customer service response i've seen so far...i dont see that happening without me making some noise.

The price was better than our old provider, wheniwork but maybe it turns out that you get what you pay for?

Customer service is very limited in what they are willing to say or do and you dont have a rep or salesperson other than when they first try to take your money and get you to sign up. I've sent messages for support or attempted to call or email my old rep that signed me up that went unanswered. When they have been answered - its been covered in technical jargon instead of a simple "yes you can do that by doing this or no, thats not available on your plan.

This is a great place for scheduling and team communication.
This is a fantastic website/app. I use this mainly for scheduling and staff communications. It is easily navigational for my staff and very user friendly for my use too. This has been as asset to my work place. Staff can request days or time off with ease. This is also fantastic to help with payroll budget tracking. You can also keep track of staff information like emergency contact etc. which is a necessity to have on hand. There is a timeclock built into this app which I don't use, however, from what I explored of that portion of the app it is very helpful too. One of my favourite features is the hiring aspect of this app. You click on the hiring tab and you can post one job listing that will translate to all hiring sites I know of (Indeed, google etc). This is perfect to get all the resumes in one place and it tracks things like if they have their foodsafe certificate, or any other requirements. Long story short - 100% would recommend. Try the FREE version and see what it can do for your business.

I love the scheduling part as it is super easy to navigate. This is super beneficial for adding time off, appointments or remembering holidays.
Cons
I don't like how you have to pay for premium features, but I understand that is how Homebase makes money just like any other site. AKA thus far I have no complaints. This is a great app and its easy for my staff to use.

My overall experience with Homebase is a 10/10. I would recommended Homebase to any business.
Pros
The ease and simplicity of using Homebases features is what makes it a phenomenal product for our company. It's excellent solution for our company because of all the features it offers. Homebase is a part of our daily operations, not just for its timeclock functionality, but we use homebase to communicate as a team.
Cons
The only thing that I do not like about Homebase is when a new hire already has a profile with a previous company that uses Homebase.

Having scheduling, time tracking, payroll, tax filing, workers comp insurance and audits all in one place is a lifesaver.
Pros
It's been a valuable tool for being able to use historical sales data to decide how many employees to schedule on any given day. It helps me budget wages accurately.

Some functionality is clunky with too many steps, occasionally we have problems with the time clock, geolocation doesn't work.

Free Version Opinion.
We are a very small business and to be able to use the clock in and out feature on the free program is great. I am able to see when my employees are clocked in or not instead of going by he said she said. It has helped a lot in determining if we need to keep, promote, or fire employees.

Confessions of a Homebase Addict
Homebase is literally an addiction. All of the tasks that need to be done with this product are agonizing for any manager. But this product makes it not only easy, but enjoyable! I actually love performing all the tasks on Homebase because it is so practical, straightforward and simple. I am on the app multiple times a day just reminding myself of who is working when. I would be lost without this product and in terrible shape. Thank you for 3 years of making my life easy!

Ease of use. It is so convenient to have everything you need inside the app. The schedule building is so simple and practical. Everyone can see it and request changes. I love that the manager features can be accessed inside the app. Almost everything can be accessed without a computer.
Cons
There is nothing I dislike. The only thing I ask is that you please do not change or complicate the setup because it is so practical and easy to find everything. Please do not complicate it. It's just right the way it is!

Best Scheduling App
Very easy to use. Very intuitive interface. Easy to add/terminate employees and set up schedules. This has been one of the most user-friendly apps we have used and all employees have access to it.
Pros
I like the ease of making schedules - from copying days to copying weeks and then making adjustments. I also like the employees' ability to request time off and swap shifts with no interaction from the administrator.
Cons
I would love if Homebase forced alerts on employees. We send messages out and I can see that only 1/2 the employees have read it.

A one-stop shop for all needs for employee management for any business with a large amount of...
A very positive experience and software that I utilize regularly for multiple jobs in hospitality. Even though I have been using this product for a couple of years now, I am constantly learning about new features within Homebase.
Pros
The versatility of functionality. A fantastic scheduling system that allows for different calendars/schedules for different teams, as well as colour coding for various positions. Ability to have multiple jobs under different tabs that can be easily navigated between. Ability to see projected earnings as well as actual earnings in real time. Also the ability to clock in and out from an employees own mobile device is very helpful.
Cons
The only issue that has continued to arise on various occasions is notifications not coming through on Iphone. This continues to occur even when notification settings are turned on and when app has been deleted and re-downloaded. Aside from this, functionality is amazing.

Good options but struggles at times
Pros
We have used Homebase for our needs for the last 7 years. There are many features that are nice that we use. The timeclock is the main feature that we use as it allows our team members to clock in and out right from their phones. It also give them how many hours they have worked and how much pay they have made.
Cons
The message and schedule feature is hard. The Message feature constantly stops working so our team members dont get the notifications. Also trying to schedule for a month at a time is very hard and it could be easier. I have asked that they make it easier but nothing has changed.

I find the app easy to use for administrative and the employees find it easy to use for employment information.

The schedule building part. So easy to make a schedule for over 30 people! The copy from a past week is a great time saver.
We also use the timeclock. Very easy to correct those who forget to clock in or out. Also can tell by the dashboard who hasn't clocked in or isn't here.

Excellent. Would 100% choose again. Have been using Homebase for over a year after switching from a large competitor. So happy I switched.

Great time-keeping and clockin system for a start-up
Overall it was great, i liked clocking in and out and found the system to be efficient and useful. I wish the time-off and holiday were on the free plan too. I think that would make more people want to sign up. Other than that I enjoyed it for two years. I would highly recommend this even if your new.

If your new to the whole productivity/time-keeping area then homebase is great starting point. It has some great features which as a startup i have used, such as building my own rota for the month and scheduling timeoff. also it comes with a free plan so you can make most of it before paying into a monthly subscription.

I would like some of the paid features to be free hence why i left and cancelled the account. Other than that if it had those i would have stayed.

A wonderful experience with Homebase
It makes my job so easy when it comes to keeping up with employees & tracking their hours. I want to see what the payroll piece will do. While I have a CPA doing my book keeping and doing payroll which cost me 600 monthly for two location. I want to really need to save money.
Pros
I love the way I can manage my employees schedule using Homebase, make schedules, and update pricing. The Clover is the best POS system since sliced bread.
Cons
I want to use HR, but it's too high for me at this time. I need to get a employee hand book completed and I have yet to do it and I've been using Homebase to almost 9 years.

Homebase is intuitive and organized.
I have been using Homebase for a year or two. I tried cutting expenses and using Jobber but it was much more work. I use Homebase to let the employees know when they are expected in and when they should clock out by. Because we are on the road it is only estimated. Homebase lets me put in a shift/run and Jobber gives them the program ordered. It’s like Homebase is an outline and Jobber is the report.

Jobber has a schedule issue. It has many hoops to go through to get a “run” or shift together. It does a good job with the customer end but not the employee end. I need to tell the employee when to come into work to prepare for the “job”. I can’t leave that up to the employee. Great Scheduling Software for businesses of all sizes
Overall we love homebase. We started out using it as a test with just 1 location now we use it for 9 different businesses. Some of them have office staff, some remote/traveling staff that use GPS on app clock in/clock out and some have staff that clock in when they get to work using on location computers. It couldn't be quicker to set up and get started and the fact that you have a forever schedule history is an awesome feature. Plus depending on the features you need - you can try it out for free (as in free free - their starting price point is zero)
Pros
Simple interface, quick timesheet edits and complete edit/history tracking for all changes made to anything in their system.
Cons
The applicant tracking and job posting system is terrible. No app integration, mixed up listings if you have multiple businesses with different names, only one landing page listing jobs for all your locations combined...the list goes on. Skip this unless you are only one location or all of your businesses share the same brand/name.

Its a well integrated software for scheduling and time clock monitoring as well as payroll functionality. It has some unfortunate quirks, but none that outweigh the benefits of the app.

Its very intuitive and easy to navigate. Online connectivity makes it easy for multiple managers to use it for specific roles.
Cons
Homebase "updated" their online scheduling and now its more cumbersome to use - multiple refreshes are necessary to keep up with changes (its frustrating)

FREE Scheduling / Messaging
Have been blessed with the ability to utilize a free app that allows me to schedule crew members & allows them to message each other if schedules need to change. Our volunteer ambulance agency also frequently holds training for other departments, meaning that I can add crew members/roles while I have students & then can remove them once classes are completed. Other apps that I have used had caps on the number of persons allowed to be added & even after deleting a person they still counted on the total number, meaning I couldn't add anybody else.
Pros
Allows volunteer ambulance team members to communicate & monitor schedule on the go. If an emergency happens we can communicate with each other remotely.
Cons
Messages are at times delayed. I don't "blame" Homebase due to the quality of our cell service in our area has been poor the past few months.
