> DocsGPT is an AI platform from Arc53 for organisations that want assistants, agents and search over their own documents without giving up control of their data. The software is open source under the MIT licence and runs in four ways: as Arc53's cloud service in the EU, as a dedicated instance managed by Arc53 in a region the customer chooses, on the customer's own infrastructure, or in an air-gapped network with no outbound connection. Teams add knowledge by uploading files such as PDFs, Office documents and scanned pages, which are read with OCR, or by connecting Google Drive, SharePoint, Confluence, GitHub, Amazon S3 and other services. Questions are answered with numbered citations that open the exact passage in the source document. For work beyond questions and answers, agents can query databases, call APIs and send messages, with each action allowed, held for approval or switched off, and a visual builder turns multi-step document processes into workflows with conditions and code steps. Agents can also generate reports and files in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF formats. Models are not fixed: DocsGPT supports OpenAI, Anthropic and Google models, other hosted providers, and local models served by Ollama or vLLM. For IT and compliance teams it provides OIDC single sign-on, SCIM 2.0, role-based access control, configurable guardrails, usage quotas per user and an append-only activity log that can be exported. Pricing covers a free self-hosted edition, a Cloud plan billed per seat, and managed and on-premises options.
