# PrivCloud

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.ie/software/550086/PrivCloud

> PrivCloud is a secure alternative to WeTransfer, SwissTransfer, and TransferNow, with end-to-end AES-256 browser-side encryption. Your files are encrypted before leaving your device: the server never stores data in plain text. Whether you're sharing contracts, medical records, or large datasets, your files remain protected from sending to downloading.
Hosted in France and transparent open source to offer truly secure and GDPR-compliant file transfers. Unlike traditional services, your files are never readable by the server.

WeTransfer, SwissTransfer, TransferNow, Smash: most file transfer services encrypt your data at rest on their servers, but retain the encryption key. They can technically read your files. PrivCloud takes a fundamentally different approach: AES-256 end-to-end encryption is performed in your browser, and the encryption key never leaves your device. Zero-knowledge architecture, hosting in France, full GDPR compliance.

## Reviews

### "A genuine alternative to WeTransfer, properly encrypted." — 5.0/5

> **Caroline** | *8 September 2026* | 2128 | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Fast and simple file transfers, comprehensive team user management with granular access rights, the ability to sign documents electronically secured by passkeys, in short, a highly comprehensive, secure, and simple service.
The service is truly worth the price, and the transfer speed (both upload and download) is far superior to anything I’ve experienced so far on file transfer sites.
>
> **Cons**: There isn't much to say about what I like less, because everything seems incredibly smooth to use, and my colleagues have no complaints either.
