Jira boards track work. They do not tell you where flow breaks down, which items are aging in a column, or whether a team is taking on more than it can finish. Advanced Kanban fills that gap. It turns a standard Jira board into a control surface for flow, without a new tool, a separate login, or a data migration. The board stays in Jira, where the team already works.
Start with the limits that native Jira boards are missing. Set flexible WIP limits per column to cap work in progress and expose bottlenecks the moment they form. Add personal WIP limits so an individual contributor is not silently overloaded. Turn on aging limits to flag work items that have sat in a status too long, before they become the reason a release slips.
