### "The "Happening Now" panel is awesome." — 4.0/5

> **Trishan Preet** | *28 July 2026* | Computer Software | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Quick updates about the daily technology. The best feature I liked is the happening now panel because it's very helpful in getting the latest news. Secondly, the app is very good at summarizing all the big articles into small ones, so I can get information that I need very easily.
>
> **Cons**: The feed is not very curated or interesting, like it's on Instagram or LinkedIn, I'd say. It could be more person-specific, I guess.
>
> I love this app as a software developer. I mainly use this app to gain the news around the world about tech, and the "Happening Now" panel has made it far, far easier to do it. Earlier, I had to scroll through things to find the relevant news to me, but "Happening Now" is a very, very good feature I'll say. I don't find it that relevant for me to interact with people because I am unable to interact with people here. It could be a personal issue, but I guess the app is a good initiative to make a kind of LinkedIn for software developers. It's great and now every day new and new things are coming, so it's a good place for technology people.

### "One clean feed that keeps me current without the noise" — 4.0/5

> **Jackson** | *31 July 2026* | Design | Recommendation rating: 7.0/10
>
> **Pros**: daily.dev has become part of my daily routine. It pulls the best developer content from across the web into one clean feed, and the personalization gets better the more I use it.

The new-tab browser extension is my favorite feature and I get fresh, relevant content every time I open a tab. Following specific tags makes it easy to stay focused on the topics I care about, and I like discovering what other developers are reading.

It's fast, there's no clickbait, and it's genuinely useful for staying current without much effort.
>
> **Cons**: The feed can feel overwhelming on busy days, and I'd love tighter filtering to cut down on repetitive posts covering the same topic.

Nothing dealbreaking but just polish that would take it from great to perfect.
>
> Before daily.dev, I was following individual blogs, newsletters, and social feeds separately, and it was scattered and noisy.

daily.dev pulls everything into one curated place, so I stopped juggling five different sources.

Overall it's a reliable, easy-to-use tool that's earned a permanent spot in my workflow.

Ease of use and value are solid, and the customization is excellent.

### "Much love for the daily.dev platform and team" — 5.0/5

> **Alex** | *16 July 2026* | Computer Software | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: - the level of customization for curated feeds
- the profile customization and depth
- the ease of providing feedback
- their (as of this moment) Giveback program to charitable causes they are doing right now
- the quality of the content
- the aesthetic
>
> **Cons**: Sometimes after you've gotten used to how an application or platform looks, they will change it, which can take some getting used to again. That happens with all platforms though.
>
> My experience with daily.dev has been wonderful. I get to satisfy my love for customizing while learning from others. I love the team as well. They are kind, helpful, and genuinely listen to feedback.

### "The only browser tab I don't immediately close" — 5.0/5

> **Jon** | *29 July 2026* | Computer Software | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: It hijacked my new tab page, and I'm weirdly grateful. Before this, I'd open a tab, forget why, and end up on Reddit or X and skimming news or arguments on the same topics with less substance. Sort of the 'fast food' or 'desert' of the dev content world. Now I open a tab and get five articles about stuff I'm actually working on.

The tag filtering is the real win. I trained mine on Node, Astro, self-hosting, and Postgres, and after a couple weeks it stopped showing me "10 VS Code Extensions That Will 10x You" and started surfacing genuinely useful posts. Bookmarking is one click and syncs to the phone app, which is how I read most of it, standing in line somewhere.

Squads are decent too. Smaller and quieter than a subreddit, which I mean as a compliment. And the free tier is generous enough that I never felt like I was being nickel-and-dimed into upgrading. Tho I do now support them, more out of a desire to see them continue to offer valuable things than out of a 'need' to get anything useful from it.
>
> **Cons**: The content is only as good as the internet, and the internet publishes a lot of Medium posts that are the same tutorial with a different header image. You will see "Why I Switched From X to Y" roughly forty times.

The streak counter got under my skin more than I'd like to admit. I caught myself opening the app at 11:50pm to keep a number alive, which is a very silly way to spend a Tuesday. Would love a way to turn the gamification off entirely.

Search is the weakest part, but even that isn't terrible if you're deliberate about how you're utilizing the tools available and not just hoarding articles you'll never read.
>
> Been using it about a year, mostly through the browser extension with the mobile app for downtime. It replaced my old habit of maintaining a sad RSS reader I checked once a month. The feed took some tuning before it clicked, so if the first week feels generic, keep downvoting and adding tags. It gets there.

I don't use it as a social network, and I've never needed customer support, so I can't speak to either. For what it costs me (nothing by need, minimal to support the cause) and what it saves me (from aimless tab-opening), it's an easy keep.
