Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.ie/software/554833/Pointcarre

> Pointcarre is a professional textile CAD software with 40 years of expertise, and the only solution that runs natively on both Mac and PC within a single application. It covers the entire textile design spectrum:

Jacquard weaving, dobby weaving, digital, rotary and screen printing, jersey and flat knitting, tufting and carpet design, and 3D mapping. Every module is integrated into one program, so designers move seamlessly from a printed motif to a woven structure to a tufted carpet to a 3D visualization without ever switching software or transferring files. One file holds the design, the colors, the yarns, the weaves and the machine data.

For weaving, Pointcarre offers two dedicated modules. The Jacquard module creates and modifies any Jacquard fabric, from design to on-loom production, combining a powerful design environment with a weaving engine that handles up to 16 warps and 16 wefts. It includes the exclusive Jacquard Maker, which turns any image into a complete, ready-to-weave Jacquard in a single step, assigning weave structures automatically and exporting technical sheets in one click. The Dobby module creates and simulates any dobby cloth with a library of 4,000 weaves, automatic weave analysis, float correction, warp and weft formulas, and realistic simulation using any kind of yarn, including bouclé, chenille, slub and twisted.

The Print Design and Color Separation module covers digital, rotary and screen printing, with tonal color separation, repeat tools and the exclusive Natural Blend Color, which simulates how inks blend on rotary machines before production, reducing test rolls, ink waste and cost. The Knit module handles jersey and flat knitting with expandable stitch libraries, perfect for designing polo shirts, socks, sportswear, hosiery and knitwear, and exports to production formats.

The Tufting and carpet module is the best modern alternative to the discontinued APSO software. It delivers the most realistic carpet simulation in the world, built with Aquafil Econyl 3D yarns, and is the only CAD able to reproduce CMC's exclusive ColorPoint simulation. It covers wall-to-wall carpet, carpet tiles and rugs, with gauge control, single and double needle bars, multiple pile heights, cut and loop pile, integrated tiling tools and export to all major tufting machines. The 3D Mapping module visualizes fabrics realistically on photographs, draping woven, printed, knitted or tufted designs onto garments, furniture and interiors for lifelike product presentations before any physical sample.

Pointcarre was the first textile CAD in the world to integrate artificial intelligence directly into the design workflow. Design Maker generates patterns from an inspiration image while respecting the designer's own style, Repeat Maker turns any motif into a flawless seamless repeat automatically, and AI Upscaling enlarges the resolution of a small design in a few clicks. With YarnMaker, Pointcarre now builds three-dimensional yarns driven by AI for the most accurate textile simulation available anywhere. These tools remove the long, repetitive technical tasks that consume a designer's time, giving them back the freedom to create.

Color is included at no extra cost: the Pantone Textile Library, the Archroma Color Atlas and ColorCSI are all built in, where competitors charge extra. The software connects directly to the main industrial machines on the market, including looms from Stäubli, Bonas, Itema, Picanol and Dornier, tufting machines from CMC, Tuftco, Vandewiele and Modra, and knitting machines from Stoll and Karl Mayer.

Used in more than 120 countries and taught in leading textile schools worldwide, Pointcarre is backed by serious technical training, the Pointcarre Academy e-learning platform, and dedicated support by phone, chat, email and remote control. One application, on Mac and PC, combining every textile discipline, exclusive AI, the most realistic 3D simulation and full machine compatibility.
