Six ways to clock in, no hardware required

Employees clock in from their own phone with a single button, and their position is checked at that moment only — never tracked continuously. They can also scan a QR code posted on site, enter a personal code on a tablet shared by the whole team, clock in from a browser while moving between sites or customer visits, or use a dedicated button on days they work from home, when no location is requested at all. Administrators can also enter or correct a shift themselves.

Built around French labour law

Time records are immutable, enforced at database level: a correction is stored as a traced annotation and the original entry is never modified, so you can show an inspector both what was recorded and what was changed, by whom and when. Pointeo watches the thresholds that matter under French law and raises an alert when one is crossed — daily and weekly overtime, the 48-hour weekly ceiling, and insufficient daily rest.

Technical specifications

Pointeo is a web application: nothing to deploy, nothing to update, and it runs on any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone. It installs on the home screen of an iPhone or an Android phone straight from the browser, with no app store involved. A clock-in made without a network connection is queued locally and synchronised as soon as the connection returns. Shared kiosk tablets are paired to a site and unlocked by a personal code for each employee.

Security and data protection

Authentication uses signed access tokens with short lifetimes and refresh tokens held in http-only cookies. Repeated failed sign-ins lock an account temporarily. Every query is scoped to the tenant, so no company can read another's data. Data is hosted in the European Union.

Position is verified at the moment of clocking only. Optional verification photos are captured at random on a share of clock-ins, with each employee's explicit consent — these are photos reviewed by a human, not facial recognition and not biometric data. A data protection impact assessment covers the location feature, and personal data is purged automatically at the end of its retention period.

Integrations and exports

Spreadsheet export is available on every plan. The Business plan generates the file formats expected by Sage, Silae, Adp, Cegid and Urssaf, ready to hand to your accountant. These are file exports you generate and send, not live connectors, and there is no public interface for third-party developers at this stage.

Scheduling and employee self-service

Build recurring shifts per site and per employee; the schedule is compared against actual clock-ins, so lateness and absence are detected without re-entering data. Every employee gets a personal space with their own history, schedule, leave balances and an export of their own records. Companies outside mainland France can set their own time zone — Martinique, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Réunion, Mayotte and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon — and every hour displays in local time.

The free plan covers up to 3 employees with no time limit and no card required. Paid plans start at 19 € per month excluding tax, plus 2.90 € per employee, with a 14-day trial that needs no card.
