1. Who it's for

Our software is used by teams across civil engineering, solar, wind, telecom, oil and gas, utilities, and infrastructure. From smaller firms handling a handful of projects a year to larger practices running work across multiple regions, these teams need current site data available inside CAD, without the delay of manual data prep. Plex-Earth gives them the right geospatial data and site understanding from day one, through real coordinates, real elevations, and current site conditions inside the drawing.

2. What it does

Imagery comes from basemap providers (Google Maps, Azure Maps, OpenStreetMap, Google Elevation), any WMS or WMTS server you connect, or premium providers (Nearmap, Vexcel, Hexagon, Airbus, Vantor). Timeviews track how a site has changed over years, or bring in imagery just days old for the latest ground conditions.

Terrain tools import elevation as surfaces and contours, calculate cut and fill between existing and proposed grades, and run elevation, slope, and direction analysis, working directly with GeoTIFFs, survey data, and KML/KMZ files. 

KML files move both ways: you can bring geospatial information straight into CAD, or export finished designs back to Google Earth so clients and stakeholders can see the result in its real-life environment.

3. Where it fits in your work

Plex-Earth is useful across all project stages: early planning, design, permitting, and client communication. Teams use it to understand a site before design begins, to keep decisions grounded as the project develops, and to present the result once it's ready.

To support that range of needs, premium providers give teams access to high-resolution orthophotos and detailed DTM and DSM data. A middle option when basemap imagery isn't enough but a survey isn't yet feasible, or isn't in the budget.
