Masto Control is for people who make physical products in small batches and sell them: candle and soap makers, cosmetics and skincare brands, small food producers, jewellers, and workshops doing light manufacturing. The typical customer is a business of one to ten people that has outgrown a spreadsheet but would never survive an ERP implementation, and has no intention of hiring anyone to run its software.

The problem it solves

One raw material usually sits in a dozen or more recipes. When a supplier raises the price of wax, or a fragrance oil, or a jar, every product containing it quietly costs more than your spreadsheet says. Almost nobody goes back and edits twelve rows, so prices drift out of date and margins erode without anyone noticing. Masto Control exists to make that arithmetic happen by itself.

How it works

Materials are tracked by purchase lot. Each delivery keeps its own purchase price, purchase date and expiry date, so two batches of the same oil bought at different prices stay separate. Quantities work in grams, kilograms, millilitres, litres, millimetres, centimetres, metres or pieces, which matters when a recipe uses 12.5 g of one thing and 3 pieces of another.

Recipes, or bills of materials, nest. A component you make in-house carries its own cost up into the finished product automatically. Each recipe line can carry a waste allowance, because in real production you never get 100% of what you weigh out.

Production runs are planned, which reserves the materials, then completed, which writes them off at the actual cost of the lots consumed, oldest first. At any moment you can see how many units your current stock allows you to make, net of what is already reserved for other runs.

Sales are recorded against a channel. Packaging is defined per channel, since a market stall needs no mailer and a posted order does, and channel commission is kept separate from cost of goods so you can see what each route to market actually leaves you. Etsy orders arrive automatically and deduct stock.

What makes it different

Costing is first-in, first-out at the price you genuinely paid for each lot, not a rolling average. Recipe versions lock once used in production, so last season's costs stay true rather than being rewritten by this season's edits. Every stock movement is typed and kept: purchase, reservation, consumption, rework return, sale return, stocktake, transfer.

What it does not do

There is no time-based labour costing. Labour and overhead enter unit cost as an amount or a percentage you set, but nothing times the work or holds an hourly rate. There is also no multi-currency, no public API, no barcode scanning, no customer invoicing and no production scheduling board. If you need those, we would rather you knew now.

There is no implementation project and no consultant. Import your materials from Excel, write your recipes, start recording production. Documentation covers every module at docs.mastocontrol.com. The Entry plan is EUR 30 per month, or EUR 25 billed annually, and includes one user, unlimited SKUs, unlimited warehouses and no cap on orders. Extra team members are added as seats: Core at EUR 12 for materials, recipes, inventory, production and reports, or Growth at EUR 15 for those plus sales channels. All prices exclude VAT, which Paddle adds at checkout by country. Every plan has a 14-day free trial with full access and no credit card. There is no free tier.
