For database access control, Bytebase provides a web-based SQL editor, granular permissions, just-in-time and time-bound access, approval workflows, dynamic data masking, and audit logs. The same governance controls can apply to AI agents, giving each agent scoped, auditable database access instead of relying on shared credentials or unrestricted connections.

For AI agent workflows, Bytebase can provide governed database access through Model Context Protocol (MCP). Agents connect through Bytebase and inherit identity, authorization, masking, review, approval, and audit controls. Sensitive data can be masked before it reaches the model, while agent-proposed database changes can go through the same review and approval process as human-authored changes.

Security and compliance teams can centralize audit trails, enforce consistent access and change policies, and manage governance across multiple databases and environments.

Bytebase supports PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and 20+ database engines. It is available as Bytebase Cloud or can be self-hosted, including in private and air-gapped environments.
