# SendBeam

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.ie/software/694883/SendBeam

> SendBeam is an email marketing platform organised around workspaces rather than a single audience list.

A workspace holds everything belonging to one website or one client: its subscribers, its signup forms, its templates, its automations and the domain it sends from. An account can hold as many as you need, and you move between them from the same login.

Who tends to use it

Agencies looking after campaigns for several clients, where each client's data has to stay apart and a client may need to see their own numbers without seeing anyone else's.

Freelancers and developers maintaining a portfolio of sites, who want an interface for the marketing side and an API for everything else.

Publishers and operators running several titles or brands, where the audiences overlap but the newsletters shouldn't.

How the billing differs

Plans are sized by contacts, and a contact is a person rather than a database row. Somebody who joins the newsletter on two of your sites occupies one place on the plan. People who have unsubscribed, or whose address has bounced, occupy none, since they are no longer reachable. The practical effect is that adding another website adds work but not another subscription.

Working with an audience

Subscribers carry custom fields alongside the usual name and address, and can be organised with tags and lists. Segments combine those attributes with behaviour, so a segment can be defined as everyone who clicked in the past fortnight, or everyone who has opened nothing for a year and is a candidate for removal.

Composing and sending

Campaigns start from a saved template or are assembled from content blocks. Before a full send you can run a split test across the subject line, the sender name or the body itself, release it to a sample of the audience, and have the better performing version delivered to the remainder without further intervention. Recipients whose mail client mangles the layout can open a web copy of the same message.

Automated sequences

Sequences begin from an event: somebody joining, a form being completed, a tag being applied, an annual date arriving, or activity from a connected shop such as a basket left behind or an order placed. From there a sequence can pause, take a branch depending on what is true about the contact, adjust tags or fields, send, or hand over to another sequence.

Collecting subscribers

Hosted forms and pop-up variants can be embedded on any site. Confirmed opt-in is available where regulation or preference calls for it, and a preferences page lets a subscriber narrow what they receive rather than leaving altogether.

Publishing from a feed

A workspace can watch an RSS feed and turn new entries into scheduled campaigns, which suits blogs and news sites that already publish elsewhere.

Sending identity

Each workspace has its own sending domain. Setup walks through the required records so authentication is in place before anything goes out, and one property's sending behaviour does not affect another's standing.

Measuring

Campaign statistics cover delivery, opens, clicks and bounces, and go as far as the individual link a subscriber followed and the device they read on.

Extending it

Everything available in the interface is also available over a documented HTTP API. Events can be pushed outward to your own endpoints as they occur, and prebuilt connectors exist for n8n, Zapier and WordPress, with notifications available into Slack or Microsoft Teams.

Housekeeping

Address lists are screened at import for domains that no longer accept mail. Unsubscribes and complaints are recorded across the whole account automatically. Access is governed by roles, so somebody can be confined to a single workspace, or given visibility without the ability to send.

## About the vendor

- **Company**: SendBeam

## Commercial Context

- **Pricing model**: (Free version available)
- **Pricing Details**: You are billed in your own currency. SendBeam sets real prices in pounds sterling, US dollars, Australian dollars and Canadian dollars — these are native prices, not a dollar figure converted at checkout, so there is no exchange rate to absorb and no foreign transaction fee from your bank. Both sterling and dollar amounts are shown below.

Pricing is by the number of contacts you can email, pooled across every workspace on the account. There is no per-site or per-workspace fee, so the cost of running a fifth website is the contacts it adds, not another subscription.

Plans

Free — £0 / $0. Up to 500 contacts and 2,000 emails a month, across 2 workspaces. No card required and no time limit. Confirmed opt-in is required on this tier, and a small SendBeam badge appears in the footer of sent mail.

Starter — £7 / $9 a month. Up to 2,500 contacts and 15,000 emails a month, across 5 workspaces, with 2 user seats and 3 sending domains. The badge is removed and confirmed opt-in becomes optional.

Pro — £24 / $29 a month. Up to 10,000 contacts and 60,000 emails a month, with unlimited workspaces, sending domains, automations and webhooks, and 5 user seats.

Business — £65 / $79 a month. Up to 50,000 contacts and 250,000 emails a month, unlimited user seats, migration help when moving from another provider, and priority email support.

Annual billing costs the equivalent of ten months rather than twelve: £70 a year for Starter, £240 for Pro, £650 for Business. Either cycle can be chosen, and you can switch.

What counts as a contact

A contact is a person, not a row in a table. Somebody who subscribes on three of your sites counts once against the plan, because you are sending to one human being. Contacts who have unsubscribed, or whose address has bounced, do not count at all, since they can no longer be emailed. Archived contacts are excluded too.

This matters most to anyone running several properties with overlapping audiences. Where a platform charges per account, the same subscriber is paid for repeatedly; here the plan reflects the reachable audience rather than the size of the database.

Email allowance

The monthly email figure is the total across all workspaces, and it resets at the start of each calendar month. Sending is counted per email delivered rather than per campaign, so one campaign to 1,000 people uses 1,000 of the allowance.

Changing plans

Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period, so you keep what you have paid for. Billing runs through Stripe, and the customer portal is reachable from inside the product for invoices, card changes and cancellation. There is no contract and no cancellation fee.

Going over

Approaching a limit produces a warning rather than a surprise. Passing the contact limit prevents new contacts being added until you upgrade or remove some; using up the monthly email allowance pauses sending until the next month or an upgrade. Nothing is deleted, and no overage is charged without you choosing it.

Free tier rather than a trial

The free tier is the trial. It is a working account rather than a countdown, so a small site can stay on it indefinitely, and there is no card to enter before you have decided the product suits you.
