This is the only autoshop mgmt software we've used; so for what it's worth, I do recommend it
Pros
We are a growing company and Tracs has helped us with our growing pains. We've been using Tracs for just over 3 years and there are many features we haven't utilized yet, but are looking forward to using. One of my favorite features is the subestimate. You can create as many as you need under one work order and using ProDemand estimating makes it easy for even office staff to create estimates.
Cons
When you accept partial payment on an invoice, it prints the payment type and amount on the invoice, but it also prints PAID in bold letters next to the total. There is no balance printed. There is no ability to apply bulk payments to individual invoices without going into each invoice and accepting payment. Also, I wish there was something in the Customer Account Summary that indicated which invoices were paid and which are outstanding. The statement seems to only apply it to the oldest invoice, even if you apply it within the invoice instead a bulk payment.
RepairLink doesn't support Heavy Duty through Tracs.

NAPA Tracs - Legacy
Overall we've had a positive experience with NAPA Tracs.
Pros
We've used this program almost exclusively for the last 12 years. It has much to offer, but as it's been replaced with the Enterprise software, getting support and improvements can be difficult.
The things we like include being able to group all job-related items together; building jobs with labor, parts and sub-items; ensuring POs are received prior to invoicing; noting how our new customers heard about our business; various report options to help us learn about our productivity. We've just moved our Senior Technician to book time and the two reports that reflect book time are mostly helpful, when the data is accurate.
Cons
There is little to no support for the Legacy software, and the team is clear about there being no improvements to this software - that's frustrating. It's pointless to share other frustrations as the Legacy program is not longer offered to start-up shops for use.

TRACS
TRACS has great customer service and TRACS was a great starting point for our shop, but the software could use some significant updates in interface and features. It's easy to use and effective, but making it an all-in-one software that features communication/texting, more comprehensive work order management, DVIs, etc. without having to pay for, sign up for, and manage 4 other integrations would make it significantly more competitive.
Pros
For what the software is, NAPA TRACS worked well. The pricing is great, and I think it's a good starting point for any new shops or those who aren't tech savvy. All of the features that TRACS does offer, it does well.
Cons
TRACS is slow to updates and changes. It only recently allowed the ability to capture digital signatures. There are still a lot of updates to the interface and features that it needs to make to compete with other software on the market. It works with third party software to bridge some of the features it lacks; however, having two different software is costly and clunky and often doesn't work the way it should. TRACS is very manual and unintuitive, and it very much feels like using an early 2000s software.

Best Repair Shop Software Available
Tracs has increased our average repair order, helped us increase our productivity, helped us be more profitable on both parts and labor and helped us retain our customer base.
Pros
Multi location software we have 14 locations; recommended services; service history; easy of creating multiple estimates; available reports to analyze business; inventory control; being able to separate types of sales, batteries, tires, oil, labor, parts, towing, etc.; electronic ordering of parts; windows based for ease of learning
Cons
I am had pressed to write anything about what I dislike there is very little. The only thing I can say is Tracs has lost invoices but I am not 100% sure it is the software's fault most likely internet interruption issues from client to server.
