# Edge Register

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.ie/software/773140/Edge-Register

> Edge Register is for infrastructure leads whose systems run outside the data centre: branches, depots, kiosks, ATMs, plant rooms, home workers and vessels.

The problem: the infrastructure lead is asked which of the estate's systems could run on low-power hardware over an intermittent link, and what that carries in continuity, transfer and off-premises duties. A survey firm can answer, site by site, but it arrives later and prices per site. Before anyone visits anything, someone has to say what each site is, who is there, how it connects, what data it holds and which duty attaches. Edge Register builds that from the list you already have.

How it works:
1. Paste one site per line. Full columns are Site | what runs there | link | data | country | units | backup | segregation | remote access | RTO | encryption, but a plain sentence such as "Leeds branch, till system and back-office PC, always on, customer records" works too.
2. Each site is matched to a published dictionary of 38 site classes in nine families. A site that matches nothing is marked unrecognised, never guessed.
3. You get the class, the physical exposure (attended, unattended, public, hostile), the link (always, intermittent, none), the regulated data, whether it runs plant, and what a loss there costs. Each reading says whether it came from your line or from the class.
4. Tick the regimes that reach you, from ISO/IEC 27001, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171 for sites handling CUI, CIS Controls, ISO 22301, GDPR, DORA, the NIST SP 800-82 OT overlay and NIST SP 800-207 for remote access design. Each site carries the clauses that attach.

What you take away: counts by family, link and exposure; findings such as no backup stated, encryption not stated, regulated data with nobody there, cross-border and remote access to plant; six hardware vendor questions per site; and on paid plans the hardware RFI page, duty matrix, continuity sheet and one-page board summary.

What it does not do: it never grades a site or a vendor's hardware and never rules on you. Each duty is our statement of its clause, read against the copy held and cited; where a text is not held in full, the page names it without stating it.

Data handling: the dictionary and clause text load with the page, and your list is read in the browser. Nothing is sent anywhere until you choose to save.

Pricing: the free plan lets you try it without an account, eight sites at a time. Paid plans: Solo, for one person, costs USD 29 monthly; Team, covering everyone in the organisation, costs USD 99 monthly.
