# Cell Register

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.ie/software/773142/Cell-Register

> Cell Register serves plant leadership, the head of manufacturing, the controls engineer and the OT security lead, when each needs an asset-by-asset view of automated equipment before the next change, audit or board question.

The problem it addresses: most plants hold an equipment list, but not the reading that goes with it. Which zone does each machine belong in? What can it act on, and what does a wrong action reach? Which controllers adapt? Who can reach it remotely? What does the asset owner carry under IEC 62443, and what should be asked of the integrator? OT security platforms answer some of this once sensors and monitoring are installed. Cell Register starts earlier, from the list you already keep.

How it works:
1. Paste one asset per line. Asset and type alone is enough; columns such as vendor, network, remote access, adaptive, oversight, safety function, last change and support status sharpen the result, in any order the header names.
2. Each line is matched to a published dictionary of 49 machine classes in seven families. A line that matches nothing is marked unrecognised rather than guessed.
3. You get the zone class with its IEC 62443-3-2 reasoning, a target security level, the physical reach of a wrong action, adaptive versus fixed-program behaviour and the days since the last change.
4. Tick the regimes that apply (IEC 62443 asset owner, NIST SP 800-82, EU AI Act deployer, EU Machinery Regulation, ISO/IEC 27001 in place) and the matching rows are attached to every asset, cited to the clause.

What you take away: findings that flag assets with no zone, remote connections into a zone, equipment past vendor support and machines with no oversight recorded; counts by zone class, vendor and family; and, on paid plans, the zone and conduit sheet, the integrator question list, the Machinery document checklist and a one-page board summary.

What it does not do: it does not scan your network, does not rate any machine or vendor, and does not rule on you. Requirement text is our statement of each clause, read against the copy held and cited; where a text is not held in full, the page names it without stating it. Safety standards per class are named with their topic, not quoted.

Data handling: classification runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere until you choose to save, and saving uses an email link rather than a password.

Pricing: the free plan lets you try it without an account, eight assets at a time. Paid plans: Solo, for one person, costs USD 29 monthly; Team, covering everyone in the organisation, costs USD 99 monthly.
