# Sunworker

> Sunworker is a marketplace for hospitality shifts. Restaurants, hotels, bars, caterers, event businesses and private hosts use it to book self-employed chefs, waiters, bartenders and kitchen staff for individual shifts, from a single evening to a whole season.

Every professional sets their own hourly rate and decides which shifts to accept. Businesses see that rate before they send a request, so there is no negotiation. Before anyone can be booked, Sunworker checks the credentials needed for the role, such as vocational training, hygiene certificate and business registration.

Payment is taken when a shift is confirmed and held in escrow. Check-in and check-out record the actual hours to the minute, with night, Sunday and holiday surcharges added automatically. After the shift, the invoice is created and the professional is paid out. Reviews are tied to completed shifts.

Sunworker works in the browser; mobile apps for iOS and Android are on the way.
