EHR that Actually Has Functions for Multiple Areas of Healthcare
We don't use the RCM, but the ability of Azalea to do different things from order sets, to eMARs, to simple visit notes is helpful and allows for a more seamless process in the workplace.
Pros
Unlike most EHRs, this one has features that come in use across the different healthcare areas. Built for hospital systems with satellite offices, it has ambulatory options and inpatient hospital options, which integrate demographic information between both options.
Cons
It costs a bit more than other software, but it's beyond worth it. There are a few things that I'm sure they will continue to upgrade in the future, like information flow between hospital and ambulatory systems.

You get what you pay for
Does the basic job with no bells and whistles, over priced like so many others. Goes up on rates by discontinuing packages that intrigued you to purchase.
Pros
It is affordable and easy to use, gets the basic job done
Cons
Should get more for the cost, every little thing is extra, the base price has no perks....you basically get what you pay for and they have went up on prices but not added much to compensate.

RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
Awful. I am suing them over my medical records that were in their system for 6 months. The will not provide me with a readable version of my medical records and I have been locked out of 6 months of patient records for almost a year. Pathological liars and cheaters. They are trying to extort me for $7500 to get my medical records that I paid a fortune for to begin with!! Do not hire this company or get involved with them in any way. They they tried to get me to sign a gag order to not tell anyone what they did to my practice.
Pros
Nothing. From the set up the rep lied about all the benefits of using this emr and billing service.
Cons
Constant lies. They almost bankrupted my practice because bills sat in the queue for over 2 months until I hired another biller. They were being paid to provide a full rcm product. They were getting paid a ton of money and asked for money up front so they had no emergency to get us paid. The did NOTHING!!

Azalea Health Review
Azalea has been a huge asset to our practice. Occasionally we are approached by other companies but they can't offer anything that Azalea doesn't already have.
Pros
I like that Azalea Health is quick to respond to issues or enhancement requests and that they have an excellent RCM team. The software is easy to navigate and works well for our Pediatrics office.
Cons
The plug in for prescribing has some repetitive clicks. I also widh it would pull in basic infofrom the patients profile, like weight.

Very dissatisfied
It is a catastrophe. It has resulted in too numerous to count medication errors or errors that would have happened had the system been relied on without questioning it. It is truly a nightmare and it is amazing to me that anybody has used it and not rated it accordingly. There is no fix for this after going live on April Fools' Day 60 days after going live.It has resulted in MDs/NPs and other staff A 30% increase of our labor. It will require integrating with an Outsourced pharmacy program since it is so pathetic and apparently cannot be remedied.
Pros
The only selling point is the kindness/competence of the support staff but unfortunately they are being asked to remedy and unremediable product and the remedies that should have already occurred don't seem to yet be appearing on any horizon. My hope is that prospective buyers will be spared the miseries that we are going through.
Cons
It essentially is not as advertised whatsoever and it has so many glitches and prophetic ways of reminding someone of tasks, it scrambles data particularly medications and they have to be renewed every month which is a very tedious process and where the data gets scrambled costing personnel dozens of hours trying to collate and get it back to what it was two days before the renewals.

Using Azalea for EMR
Pros
Azalea is the easiest, most user-friendly charting system I have used to date. The layout is simple and easy to navigate. Having all the "bells and whistles" isn't always the best as it becomes sensory overload. I really like the simplicity and straightforward presentation of Azalea.
Cons
The prescribing page can be a little confusing. But it is still relatively easy to navigate. I also find the scheduling page to be a little confusing as well, especially when trying to override a blocked off section.

Azalea is by far the most user friendly EHR platform for an administrator that I've ever...
Azlea's customer service is always friendly and helpful, but occasionally I've had to request an update to a ticket more than once before getting a reply.
Pros
Azalea is extremely user friendly. I have worked with many EHR platforms and this one is the easiest by far to use for administrative tasks.
Cons
Creating superbills, or facesheets in Azalea speak, is not quite as intuitive as the rest of the functions. The resulting sheet to send to the patient does have the professional appearance we would prefer.

Best EMR Software for start up practices
We have been only in practice for under 10 years, and I started with the free software that is on the market. However as our practice grew we required more than just patient demo graphics and charting. We needed software that would be able to optimize our entire front to back end office functions inclusive of charting. We reviewed other comparable software before making our final choice. Our practice manager consultant who assisted in this process really helped us in making the decision by demonstrating how Azalea Health platform would be able to meet our growing needs. This platform is truly the best software for start up practices and we wish Azalea Health all the best in the near future.

EMR for Idiots
The experience with the Azalea health has been very positive especially in terms of searching for information and sending prescriptions electronically as well as communication with my staff.
Pros
I am a 65-year-old physician who is not very fond of technology. I always preferred old-fashioned paper charts and notes, paper prescriptions and communication through telephone. However for the last 5 years I have realized the Magic of electronic medical records and electronic writing prescriptions and communication through using Azalea Health products . I did use another E HR before switching to Azalea and had problems with the support system and multiple glitches in the software leading to a very high level of frustration.
Cons
Although Azalea health electronic medical record has made my life very easy, but computer-generated notes are not as good as my previous dictations which were individualized for each patient..

Effective product for working denials - horrible for RHC payment posting
The hospital I work for (in clinic billing) handles RHCs, office only, Wound Care, Part A -AND- Part B, labs, and almost everything else. The only issue from a claims point of view is OBGYN. When we added a local OB clinic, we had to go with a competing product because Azalea was inadequate. They are working on fixing the OB issues. I have zero problems with the several types of coding I do (RHC, Wound Care, etc.). The denials are easily pulled in for working. Overall, from my perspective, Azalea is an excellent product. But then there's the Postin problem above.
Pros
The product is highly adaptable, except for OBGYN. See below for the biggest problem.
Cons
We have one ongoing problem - and it is huge. About 40% of our claims are RHC (Rural Health Clinics). Azalea does --NOT-- understand posting payments for the RHCs. Currently, we can't do our month end close for the RHCs. Azalea does not even understand the problem when we explain it. This month, again, we are having to fall back on manually entering payments because something was changed, "improved" this month, and we can no longer do an automated close. We are talking about adding HUNDREDS of hours to the monthly close because we have to enter these claims manually. We can't even get Azalea to understand what the problem is - or even why it's a problem for our RHCs. --Hundreds of extra hours--

Frustrating system much of the time with no answers, fixes and angry patients.
MIPS is almost impossible to do with the reports available. Wish there was more flexibility in what info you want when running reports. Some reports aren't fully inclusive. I was running a report for females over 35, and had alot of patients that just didn't show up on the list. Many measures aren't available through Azalea so you are limited on your choices.. We managed to get through MIPS by going throiugh a 3rd party company and entering much of the information one patient at a time.
Pros
EMR and EHR are in 1 program which we didn't have before. We attended the Azalea annual seminar last year and the people employed by Azalea are very friendly. Small group, so you know names of those you work with, but can be a downfall because people are often gone on vacation/training/ working from home etc. and hard to get answers timely.
Cons
We were with SimplifyMD prior, and we loved some of the features that are no longer available.Billing errors frustrate our patients and you can count on angry calls and visits from our wonderful patients after invoices go out. Patients are billed for the full balance before insurance has finished processing. Sometimes, not always, but don't know what to expect. Medicaid patients receiving bills, which should NEVER happen. If 1 thing is denied on insurance, they rebill the ENTIRE thing, even the ones that were approved. Never seen things done this way. Then it gets sloppy with insurance denials on things that were already paid. Hard to tell what is what. Don't understand why they can't seperate the 1 line item?? 2 yr old recoups, not to mention, 100s of recoups in general! I could go on. I have someone that teaches coding and billing reviewing the mess we have right now.

Finally! An EHR customized for any size practice!
I have worked with 5 EHR companies prior to Azalea Health. Customization has always been difficult with my previous vendors. Azalea Health started out of the gate asking our company how we operate. Unlike many solo practices, we have 34 locations across the country (and more anticipated soon). Azalea, along with our customer account rep, developed very user friendly templates. Each individual clinician can create templates to suit their practice, specialty. Also, online, there are many templates that are downloadable that will work in many situations until you can develop a good sense of designing your own templates.
When it came to ICD9 to ICD10 changeover, Azalea did all the legwork. They have updates several times and we are able to better select more appropriate codes by searching simple descriptions. Azalea has even notated which codes may be inadequate for use (highlighted in red for ease of seeing).
There is rarely any downtime in which Azalea is at fault. Having a cloud based EHR, there are occasional (not often) outages related to Google or other server issues.
Azalea Health has been very responsive with our requests for updates/additions. They do have a process to follow and so, at times, your request may take longer than you think it should, but it is on their "to do list". Often, within a couple of updates, our requests become live.
Pros
I love the ease of use compared to other EHRs I have used in the past. The customer service response has always had that "small town appeal" but their ability and the programmers' knowledge is nothing but higher tier.
Cons
As stated before, if the entirety of the internet could be constantly live with no downtime, there would be hardly any issues. Between Google sites, server issues, and remote trouble with "internet health", I would like to have much less downtime. It doesn't occur that often, but who wouldn't want less. :)

Not for use in Hospital setting
We have multiple unresolved issues since starting with Azalea Health in February 2019 and nearly every day we run into something giving us issues. When a software does not even allow you to admit a patient because of a "bug" and/or delays admit for over 6 hours, than it defeats the purpose of being an EHR. EHR is to assist a hospital/office in efficiency that translates to quality patient care and if it does not than it only serves itself as to make a profit as a business. I would NOT recommend this software to any other hospital facility. We are looking into other options
Pros
Ease of Scanning documents into patient chart
Cons
Everything in the chart is segregated and unable to be cumulated. For example, to print a patient chart you must go to multiple areas to print info and the print options are very lacking. To chart on a patient you must go to multiple areas that are sometimes seemingly hidden. This software has abandoned efficiency and user friendliness. The support team is easy to contact, but we have so many support tickets with them that we spend just as much time talking with support than working. We cannot work efficiently. Billing components (Charge Master) do not communicate appropriately with patient chart information (Chartaccess) and are constantly requiring support contact.

LPN using Azalea in a clinic.
Overall the system works good when you have the right training and programing.
Pros
When the information is put in the system correctly, it was very useful to have the patients full information at my finger tips. It made answering questions and following up a lot easier than having paper and pencil.
Cons
My least favorite feature was the pop up windows, that were not movable. When trying to do PA's under the medication tab, I would have to close the PA window, look up the patients information and then go back into the medication tab, reopen the PA window and answer the question. This was very time consuming because you could not see all the questions at once to get all the information needed to finish the PA without opening and closing the same window.

Awesome
I can't begin to say enough about Azalea. I know its hard to believe people but if we had to purchase an EHR right now and knowing what we know, Azalea would be the one we would go to. The one thing I like the most is that when new regulations like MACRA or PQRS comes out, Azalea has already done the leg work for us. We just have to follow suit. They stay on top of all regulations from Medicare to Blue Cross because they do all aspects of a medical office. They have so many people that work for Azalea that give their input on what they need to make this one of the best EHR in the country.
Pros
One of the best things I like about Azalea is that it does not go down very often. If it goes down, it is usually because of Google not because of Azalea.
Cons
The best thing I love about Azalea is that it updates to our changing world of medicine every time something new comes out. For example, the ICD-9 codes changing to ICD-10. All we had to do is learn the codes. Azalea entered the codes into the system. When there are new ways for billing staff or front desk staff to make their jobs easier, Azalea is already on it. Most the time we don't have to ask but if we do, they implement it for us.

Overall a well rounded product
Overall, its a good product-it has all the functions needed for small or large practices. Not too much, not too little.
Pros
Easy to use-simple click and point process. Easy for a entry level employee to use. Azalea is willing to accept and implement user ideas for upgrades. Auto downloading of eras is the best feature-no paying a payment poster to spend hours manually entering payments-automate the system with Trizetto-a clearinghouse Azalea partners with. Great support staff-tickets are handled quickly and efficiently.
Cons
So of the reports are time consuming to extract the data you are looking for. Agings for example-no aging report that gives a total overall account balance on one line. The combined aging is line by line. The primary insurance aging only gives insurance, pt. aging gives patient balances. Need a report that combines the two and gives one line item balance per patient. Sometimes the upgrades will mess up other processes and that can be frustrating.

Azalea Customer Service is EXCELLENT
I have figured out a LOT of work-arounds to make Azalea work well for our practice, especially with the TASKing function. Would still like to see some better tracking for Authorizations and improvement on the primary/2ndary insurances - they should work based on the effective/term dates and many times you have to manually match them up. Would be GREAT if they were driven by date and type.
Pros
Very user friendly - easy to train new staff on the functionality. Love the service ticket option as the response is typically quite fast and you can track the progress without calling., though when I do call in - the customer service reps are great. Lance has saved me many, many times.
Cons
Lots of duplicate documents in charts as there is no lock-out on documents when other users are in them (specifically in the SFAX). When 2 users label a document concurrently - it creates 2 of that document. Would be great to have a lock-out feature that does not allow you to do ANYTHING on a document when there is another user in that document.

Azalea for Billing Solutions
For the most part, I like the whole package. The main section that I think could be improved is the payment posting or at least get more training on payment posting when users first start using the system.
Pros
The day to day task are not difficult at all.
Cons
When billing claims, you should not have to delete extra diagnosis that are listed in the record if it will only let you check 4 boxes it should only send 4 diagnosis not all that are listed. The support could be better if you could speak to a representative more often then being told to go to the support button and search for your solution. Lately is also has a lot of lag time where the green button is red and tasks don't process quickly.

Excellent EHR
Overall a good EHR. We used it in a multiple provider orthopedic practice. It seemed to be capable of setting up macros for use as a true EHR. However, most of us still dictated and had it uploaded. Most of us just didn't' want to take the time to set up macros.
Pros
Flexibility- it seemed to have all the options of making it very user friendly and customization
Quick learning curve- a lot of the menus were intuitive making early navigation easy
Cons
Sometimes looking for extra pieces of information, like old operative notes, took a few extra clicks looking around.
Imaging not accessible from the main program. We had to run a separate PACS system to look at films.

Overall easy to use
I feel there are almost too many features and that the overall system could be simplified. However, once you learn how to use the system it is pretty easy to nagivate.
Pros
I like that it is easy to upload photos and/or documents into a patients chart.
Cons
I don't like that I can't just print a daily schedule from Azalea. If there is a way, maybe I just haven't figured out how.

Azalea Review- REACH
pleasant staff
Pros
Charges are easy to edit . [sensitive content hidden] is amazing!
Cons
training was terrible..the reporting is not good. Patient ledgers lack information that patients want such as the date of service. No way to easily see where payments have been applied. An up to date system should take adjustments at charges entry to give the practice a true picture of recievables.

A peace of mind
Fast and timely claims handling means reimbursement in fastest time possible. Hassle and worry free process. Diligent follow up on denials to maximize returns. I am able to print and view reports about accounts receivables, collections and payors at any time and for any period. All this at a reasonable cost and a peace of mind.

Customer Service is great and very responsive.
Cons
None. Compared to several years of having my own staff with all the hassles that go along with that and having employees embezzle funds, having azalea health meant having security and transparency.
