Deputy facilitates employee scheduling
Having a nearby application that makes use of our technology makes it all the more valuable. In particular, the team's knowledge opportunities for Vice customers are fantastic. I consider the time and effort invested learning and mastering Deputy to be worthwhile, even if I am already an advanced user.
Pros
Other scheduling tools I've tried were either impractical or too difficult to learn and utilize. Deputy is the best scheduling software I have used, and I have tried a few. It's easy to get the hang of, navigate, and succeed in.
Cons
Turns off the door/window alarm. This quality is unnecessary, and the numerous safety precautions might be frustrating. Alter the range of colors available inside the span. The app's request and route customization features are user-friendly.

A robust system with lots of features
I use Deputy for rostering staff, processing time sheets and payroll and messaging the team.
Pros
Deputy is a robust rostering and payroll system with sections for tracking employee training and keeping documents safe.
Cons
It's expensive, as you pay per active user and there is a base charge as well. It adds up quickly!

A 360 app for managing workforce with some bugs
The app is easy to use and helpful but the bugs needs to be addressed.
Pros
The news feed feature in deputy is very helpful and this is an innovative idea for a time tracking app.
Cons
There are a lot of bugs in the app.
1. In the ‘people’ section, not everyone in the organisation shows up. There is no filter there, just randomly some of the staff doesn’t show up in the list.
2. It some times calculates the time of the shift incorrectly.

Cross it off your list of potential payroll providers
Woeful. Save yourself the time and trouble and pick something else - Keypay is a great option and probably the next option for us.
Pros
Coloured locations and tracking code integration into Xero
Cons
Customer service canned responses
SCHADS Interpretation that is different to the award
Errors in the software that are ignored - and then they start quoting the terms and conditions to me when I kick up about it
So many inconsistencies in the product and they don't care

Easy and reliable scheduling tool
Deputy has an insane amount of features that help with the management of a business, but we mostly use it for our schedules and shifts, which has worked amazingly because the platform allows you to work quickly and in a simplified manner. It has also helped us in decreasing our costs regarding wages because we are able to plan our shifts according to our sales and make sure that we are scheduling our staff in the right time. It has helped us improve our communication and it's an effective product to save time and approve simple things like day-off requests without directly communicating with a team leader.
Pros
Deputy is an intuitive tool and it's one of my favorites because it can build many schedules in a matter of minutes and not have you forget essential aspects like employee skills, costs, and locations. The platform is available to all our teams and that also means that when someone can't make it, another employee is able to immediately swap shifts with them without going through the process of making calls, but I'm also able to pick them based on skills. Deputy also considers the legal parameters and makes sure that everything is on the right track, taking in consideration paid breaks, vacation, and premium pay. Lastly, I like the recent addition of Artificial Intelligence into the schedule maker because it creates almost-perfect schedules with the right amount of members taking into account the costs associated.
Cons
My only issue with this software has got to be the mobile application, it has too many bugs and it's quite an inconvenience to use even though it should be useful for when we're not using our desktops. The app sometimes freezes randomly when using, especially when wanting to start a shift, and overall, it's a very slow app, when clicking on any function it will take ages to load the information, I wish this was improved as soon as possible because I want to be able to use the app without worrying.

One of the best Scheduling tools
This is a great tool for scheduling that prevents confusion and makes the workplace feel more fair and interconnected.
Pros
Deputy makes communication, scheduling, payroll budgeting, and so much more wicked easy! The mobile app and website allow for there to be no communication, and everyone has access anytime they need or want.
Leave management is also a lot easier!
Cons
Sometimes the leave accrual can be a little difficult to set up properly, requiring some reconciliation between our payroll provider and it's figures. I wish they had a working integration with Paychex that didn't require paying Paychex.
Some staff have difficulty receiving push notifications, but there are also texts and email notification, and the interface can be a little confusing for first time users.
The automations for scheduling are difficult to set up and usually don't work with complex scheduling requirements.

team organization
It makes it easy to see the shift schedule from the application and thus have a clearer and more detailed work organization
Pros
I find it a very useful platform where you can see the scheduled shifts and work schedules where you can have a perfect organization of time in the teams having the adequate control for the programming and assistance. The schedule can be viewed a month in advance and it also satisfies me to be able to organize myself in my other tasks and not cross times with my work

My overall experience was positive. As an employee it made it easy for me to track my timesheets
Pros

Deputy
Overall I like this tool a lot, as it fulfils our needs and it is very user-friendly.
Pros
There are different view options of the schedule, so can be switched according to one's needs. The exportable reports are a nice feature, as these need to be viewed and stored by other people with no access to the tool. Shifts are clearly separated, so that any gaps can be filled in.
Cons
No place in the person's shift itself to mark the night working hours.

Great UI/UX and Easy to use
Pros
Scheduling was a breeze, approving shifts and managing payroll was simple as well. Integrated well with our payroll software. The best thing was the UI though I have looked at multiple scheduling softwares but they were too complicated to use. My employees could trade shifts with such ease and I could approve them as well. All in all a comprehensive app and website.
Cons

Not Recommended for Remote Workforces
To be clear, Deputy is a lower-cost platform. We also selected this platform in a time crunch, so some of the things we've found most challenging would likely have been discovered in a due diligence process had we had more time. That can't be blamed on Deputy. However, the support (or lack thereof) and the constant glitches that no one can explain are just exhausting and I would absolutely pay more for a system that performed this basic functionality more reliably.
Pros
Deputy is a low-cost platform that provides a good amount of customization. As a multi-state employer, it was important for us to have timecard attestations that were customizable to ensure we were covering our bases for all State laws, and Deputy was one of the few platforms that we found that enabled us to customize that feature. There are a good amount of built-in features like State pay rules that help ensure compliance, as well.
Cons
Deputy is built for operations with physical locations - retail, food service, etc. We learned quickly that our remote workforce across multiple timezones created the need for multiple workarounds - for example, in order to schedule our support team in their local timezone, we had to create "areas" like Support EST, Support PST and so on. This makes creating a schedule a nightmare. The customer support from Deputy is honestly some of the worst I've ever encountered. Everything is chat/email based, you can't get anyone on the phone and their entire support function is offshored, so I find myself having to explain things repeatedly, and often end up without a resolution.
Reasons for Switching to Deputy
The ability to create customized timesheet attestation statements which were a requirement for our Legal & Compliance team.- Industry: Financial Services

Deputy - The Best Online Clock-in System!
I loved using Deputy every day. What's not to love? Everything is laid out for you in a very simple, yet pleasing design. You can clearly see your schedule and any upcoming time off. Clocking in and out is super simple as well. I loved using Deputy at every company which was smart enough to implement it!
Pros
I love the easy-to-use layout. It's super user-friendly making it truly a no-brainer to navigate and use daily.
Cons
Honestly, I loved Deputy and had no issues with it. My complaint is that my company stopped using Deputy and switched to an inferior time-keeping system. Deputy was much better.

We use Deputy for employee scheduling
As the primary user, I don't enjoy using Deputy, but it does the job that we need it to do.
Pros
It is necessary for us to have a scheduling software that has a mobile app with location services. Deputy does the job.
Cons
In the past 2 years Deputy has gone through a few updates where they changed the location of certain functions and did not have a tutorial on where to find the moved functions. Additionally, some of our employees work overtime and Deputy will not add them to the schedule if they have more than 40 hours.

Overall great, and the staff love it.
Pros
Deputy is very user-friendly and well-designed for users at every level. We love the app the the accessibility that it offers (and is expected by) our staff. The onboarding feature is great - it has really streamlined our onboarding process.
Cons
The newsfeed is handy but lacks functionality; you can attach a document, but we REALLY need a place to store company documents such as policies and handbooks so they can be easily referred to by staff (we currently have to email them). In order to meet the key needs of the customers, Deputy should implement this feature ASAP - please!!

Recommended, but not for everyone.
It did improve our capacity to track where and when our workers were and how our costs should be distributed along our projects. In other words, it has been a good tool to admin/track/adjust our efficiency.
Pros
Deputy helps to accurately schedule workers and track their time. This helps the administration to check the efficiency and efficacy as most of the time, laboring hours can go out of hand.
Cons
Although Deputy helps with scheduling and hours tracking, as an admin user it does demand a lot of time toschedule, set tasks for workers, approve timesheets, adjust or modify.
