I use MEX daily and it is great to track all maintenance activities.
Our Preventative Maintenance schedules in MEX have resulted in regular accurate servicing of our equipment which has led to a reduction in our downtime.
Pros
MEX is an excellent tool displaying maintenance programs and PMs work completed to our external auditors.
Cons
PM categories ie fixed, triggered hierarchy etc. I would rather one only to select as it is confusing.

MEX is a step in the right direction
It's early days for our organisation and staff discipline has been an issue. i.e. Having trouble getting consistent quality data entry.
Pros
Pleasant User Interface, able to set-up and implement with some ERP experience and minimal IT skills, Mobile application (can use on Phone/Tablet as well as Desktop). Possibility of catching costs (labour/materials/contractors) and can hopefully implement Stores/Purchasing module in the future.
Cons
Reports don't have "Sort" function in filters (to re-arrange output), could be better if it had options for prompts and/or pop-up msg as well as colour-coding for different status etc.

Great concept, poor execution
MEX is a great idea, but the execution is where it falls flat, plus locking everything behind a paywall is where it falls even flatter. MEX might be okay if our data was set up correctly in the initial implementation, but even just doing basic functions is a tedious process, let alone fixing 15+ years of botched and inconsistent data. It makes no sense to me why, in 2024, a system does not have a drag and drop customization interface or the ability to go into settings and click check boxes to determine access for security groups rather than having to individually locate each module, field and back door to give/remove access, or even the ability to use "quick edits" in ANY listing, or any field (including customs).
Pros
The MEX suite means that we don't have to have multiple systems to perform the basic functions our business requires.
Cons
The UI is about 20 years out of date, the user manual is riddled with mistakes and only provides basic information, the rest is locked behind a paywall. The support staff all have inconsistent training so they are constantly contradicting one another. MEX branding is in consistent, which combined with the user manual errors, makes the MEX team seem unpolished. I have contacted the support team regularly, with varying issues only to be told "oh that's not a bug, because I cant replicate it" or "We've known about that for a while, but there's no ETA on a fix" (Except for [sensitive content hidden], shes a wonderful help). Customizing MEX is a very clunky process, and has been vastly over complicated. Having the option to customize MEX is great on one hand, having to spend hours, or thousands of Dollars to make it happen, not so much. Especially when I have personally seen much better customization abilities with other companies just simplifying it down and making it easier for their users, rather that trying to give them the world at their fingertips and falling 20 years behind. (Look at HubSpots UI for Customisation). The contacts module needs a serious overhaul as it is extremely limited and riddled with bugs. (see HubSpots contacts/companies module)

MEX overview
Good to date, no major issues. Always room to improve with modifications and enhancements as the software evolves to meet industry needs.
Pros
Easy to use, quite intuitive, has most of the functions we need. Cloud based.
Cons
Planning and Scheduling functionality could be enhanced, cannot customize the reports, when asked if we could the answer was no as the std reports have to be the same for everyone.
As mentioned auto generation of PM's can be looked at would save peoples time and effort going through activator once the PMs have been sanctioned.

New user of MEX in a regional school
Outstanding in all respects so far (not all modules have been used yet, but more will be used early 2024). It did take some time to set up the "shell" but was well worthwhile. Data imports were easily done. Congratulations to the entire MEX team.
Pros
There are numerous positive aspects to MEX - security, flexibility, automation and cross liking of data and reporting functionality. A very significant aspect is the excellent help files and support offered by everyone at MEX. I have been looking for something like this for a very long time and am more than happy with everything and everyone.
As mentioned, great help files and you tube videos.
Cons
No bad experiences yet, any new system will have a very steep learning curve. It took some time to get my head around the set up, but previous understanding of maintenance requirements / tracking functionality was a bonus.
I think new users need to understand their operations / requirements very well and allow enough time to get the system to a useable place. That is not a negative aspect at all, but it is a cost to be aware of.

Preparing Maintenance Plans
As I did not have any training am happy with the basics but more training is needed to be honest.
Pros
Setting up is all good - but needs more training for all our users like on one or group.
Cons
Scheduling weekly and monthly Maintenance Work Orders is not consistent especially weekly; sometimes only two weeks for any month is generated. I prefer to have monthly pop-up menu where I schedule weekly and monthly and export those to Excel as per Asset Numbers. The current schedule is not very friendly nor consistent or reliable even the frequency set up have been confirmed. More work on this aspect

Use of MEX in Aged Care Facility
Pros
MEX enables to building a broad and robust Asset Register for all sites. It makes high number of routine maintenance jobs handle with ease, enables to send Work Orders that have customizable and editable fields. It builds data into various reports assisting with compliance, organizational requirements. Preventative maintenance scheduler details the schedule for a year.
Contractor portal easily navigate WOs, helps to track WOs for contractors.
Having MEX user guide and help videos are super helpful to navigate or trouble shooting.
Cons
1. MEX is not compatible with new outlook so unable to send WOs through new outlook. All MEX users employees have to revert back to old outlook version.
2. In MEX Ops, the Add request page does not have exit icon on the top left or right corner. The employees have to close the browser as there is no option.
3. In Contractor's portal, Contractors cannot see WOs that have been closed off. So, they ask for a report on closed jobs to double check on our end. They do have record of completed jobs but when it's closed off from our side, they can't view it.

Whakapapa Ski Area
Very good, it does everything I need it to. There features I dont use that I intend to learn about. My job is very busy so finding the time to spend upskilling myself is difficult.
Pros
I like pretty much everything about Mex. I've been using it since 2014. Today there's no way I could manage the huge volume of work thats involved in executing the preventative and repair work that keeps our assets compliant and in good working condition. We can keep an eye on everything and are able to recognise when we need to replace an asset before current fails entirely. Your support team are awesome.
Cons
I would like to be better educated about report writing or modifying reports. Its not something I do very often and always need support if I need something changed or modified.
One suggestion I do have is when I'm working in the Work Order Listing, which is often, if I close a work order I lose my place because there is no highlighted (in blue) line of where I was last at like it does when you print a work order from the list. I understand that when you close a work order it disappears from the list but it would be helpful if a way could be found to perhaps highlight the work order line preceding the one that was just closed.

Very effective and easy CMMS
Very positive. they provided a very good support for the training and the development of our infrastructure. They have a set of skilled people that are aware of the reality of what is an industrial site
Pros
Very intuitive user interface. while some icons could be confusing (ex: Details/Search) it is very easy to find your marks and being autonomous in navigating. We appreciate the possibility to tune the interface, having access to control files that allow us to gain and of course the possibility to have a mobile access
Cons
There is still improvement as the system has a "Logic" approach. You have to quite the page you are one to fetch an info somewhere else. It will be useful to be able to navigate through the top tabs without quitting/saving the work.
Finally While there are plenty of very useful fields, it would have been interesting to included in the commisionning time a schedule to tune Front end/back End to facilitate report creation.

Mex user, spare parts and WO's mostly
Our program was setup by an office junior, not an experienced user, therefore it's not setup right and it's too complicated for anyone to risk changing / correcting it. As such we use it the best we can, but don't tap into a tenth of the functions we should be using it for

relatively straight forward to use. THE BETTER the initial SET-UP the better the end product and usability. (for clarity, I'm supplying feedback on the Mex system of a company I contract too. They have 200+ employees)
Cons
Would REALLY like to see ways of simply uploading from an excel spreadsheet for Work Orders. By this, I mean clear to see how the current Mex data base is setup i.e. First column (or field) is x, second field is Y etc. That way, I can arrange MY EXCEL spreadsheet correctly before uploading

An awesome easy to use maintenance system

Pros
Easy to implement, and learn. Does all the preventative planning and speeds up the re-occurring purchasing
Cons
No long term asset management functionality. I would like to see this implemented into MEX, so you can plan long-term improvements and capital replacements using MEX for major work at least 3-10 years ahead. Also no PM and asset criticality in system.

MEX is a good asset and maintenance management tool. if it's programmed and used correctly.
Pros
Well designed and easy to use once you've received the training
Cons
Often the work order list and request list just spins around and won't open. MEX are unsure what the problem is. This had had a significant impact on the users at the time.
the 250 reports that are provided with the initial set up are really a waste. you need to generate 3 reports to get the information you need and some of them don't even work. I don't think MEX should advertise thay have so many reports to potential customers as they're really not very good.

MEX Review
We have implemented a national structure for Asset Management and are using MEX as the tool for this system across a large number of sites Australia wide that have varying processes. The team at MEX has been 100% supportive to all our requests and the time this regionalised system has taken for us to roll out. The flexibility to our requirements has been extremely helpful with everyone from the receptionist, technical support and managers always more then happy to assist.

Ease of use, Function ability, ease of data capture and quick recall.
Cons
Some bugs have presented - However MEX has always supported us and provided the fix.
The I ability to group parts in stores catalogue.

Structured Maintenance Made Easy
From our initial dealings with the MEX team they were extremely helpful. They did not hesitate to come to our office and give us a professional and highly informative demonstration. MEX has allowed us to effectively manage our clients asset registers and assign structured preventative maintenance schedules to these assets. We are able to record all history and report on the complete lifecycle of an asset. Although MEX has virtually infinite combinations in relation to how you wish to set up your asset register MEX is very user friendly and the level to which you want to use it is up to the user, it has the capacity to be a very powerful management system across all areas of maintenance from reporting, to issuing work orders, managing invoices, tracking depreciation, flagging insurance expiry dates and police checks, the list goes on . Overall we are very happy with the MEX CMMS system and their customer service is second to none. We highly recommend MEX.

Mex adaptability
We not only have used Mex to record work completed, we have started to and will continue to develop reliability and analysis of equipment and product production to identify where the company can improve.
Pros
The equipment we use to produce our products are of a wide variety with a fair bit of difference to account for. Mex as a CMMS product was adaptable to meet our requirements. Reporting and data entry design can be customized to easily get the information required without much preparation.

Would like to be able to use Minor Job Codes in reporting

Great potential but latest products need a bit of work
Pros
It is very quick & easy to write jobs and link them to assets, and then copy and adjust them for similar jobs. The different portals interact really well and you can navigate through different areas with ease. The overall workflow is logical and the ability to cross-link multiple assets into the same job (via MEX inspections) allows you alot of flexibility in the way you write up your work.
Cons
The latest products - MEX Inspections and the iOS app - don't work that well together, so when the user is walking around with the app on a mobile device you cannot get an intergrated list of checks and the ability to add comments and photos on the one screen (you have to switch to the desktop view). The app is also not available on android (apple only). The format of work orders (the main tool you use in your daily operation) changes as it goes through the workflow (pre-generated, active, then archived in history) which is a bit annoying.

Mex Review
I have worked with MEX for 9 years and initially found it very easy to learn and work with. It is an intuitive Computerised Maintenance Management System with great support from the developers on the phone or via email.
Staff training is regularly held all around the country and onsite personalized training and support is also available.
The latest versions of MEX has allowed for customization of modules which is an outstanding feature that allows me to display the information I want and need for maintenance management. This along with the use of MEX Mobile for the use of Mobile devices has also been extremely positive for all staff using the system to conduct and record maintenance as it is completed in the field.

Functionality of all modules and ease of use is extremely good.

Custom Module
Pros
The software itself is quite easy to use when creating a custom module, it has allowed our business to start to combine our Preventative Maintenance with our Quality system enabling our crews easier access to all the information and tools they require to complete their roles.
Cons
Custom Modules have limited space to populate
Custom Modules limitations - unable to have an item inserted into the module such as a Matrix or picture.

easy to move around
I like the feel where you have the power to acquire reports from the data that has been entered so that the business can be business decisions promptu
Pros
The one thing I liked most about the software was that it can be accessed easily via web browser at any point of time I wish to access from my desktop.
Cons
The administrative part of the software is pretty complex that it needs to be studied carefully so that no mistakes is made. But overall the software is pretty neat.

FleetMex Transport
FleetMex helps track all our fleet asset location, maintenance cost, takes care of the maintenance and inventory requirements, service projections, outstanding works and fleet reporting.

Not being able to add major components to Assets and track warranty for them separately with out using Asset Childs. Not having a tyre module when in Fleet mode.

MY MEX Update
My overall experience with MEX so far is that it is becoming interesting and exiting doing data entries and testing.
Pros
Data Entry - I am currently updating Data on the MEX Excel template. These will then be transfered to our MEX program. This is the most interesting part of it.
Cons
I have not used the system live yet but through experience with other softwares, I did not think I can fill this box.

Support help
Good to record things in the one place such as Assets, parts etc. Have struggled with all the differences in Preventative Maintenance and getting the outcome I want. Have sought help from support and been told our version is too old and support will update it within 2 weeks.
# weeks has passed and we have not heard from anyone and my preventative maintenance is not issuing new worksheets or work orders

I like MEX But ı couldnt sell anybody.If ı have any chance again ,ı will try selling and demostration.

MEX at Golden Bay Cement
MEX are quick to offer solutions, but do not always listen to the Customer. Time will resolve that as the relationship between the new Maintenance Manager and MEX evolves.
Integration has proven difficult and there are still issues to be dealt with. GBC is actively working on a plan to address issues and tighten up the integration performance.
There is great scope for improvement at GBC, and there is a plan to address that. There is a lack of both ownership and understanding below the Maintenance Manager, a legacy of the previous Maintenance Manager. Again, GBC is working to address that.
Pros
The software is simple in nature. This makes learning the product easy, and training is accomplished with minimum fuss. The application is solid, the releases (Builds) are reliable. Support is top notch, and very responsive.
Cons
GBC did not make a great job of establishing their deliverables for the software. As a result, the product has been slow to deliver a lot of the benefits which are clearly there for the taking. A change of Maintenance Manager so soon after go-Live did not help GBC in achieving its goals either, but that is being addressed by the new Maintenance Manager.

Multicap Maintenance MEX Review
Pros
Asset management, Work Order management, Key management, Request Listings and History all very good components and good to use. Customer Service is very good MEX are always willing to help whenever I call and all staff are kind, polite and helpful. No one has ever been dismissive or rude.
Cons
MEX does not talk to our Finance System and this makes life very difficult to enter invoices and close work orders. There are a few items that cannot be changed, if a mistake is made in selecting an asset in a request and then a Work Order is created then you cannot change the asset selected in the request, same with accidently creating a work order instead of attaching an already existing work order. This cannot be changed either.

Buying the software is extremely cheap, and is value for money.
Searching for anything within the system easy.
Easy to customize the interface with no programming skills.
Because the accounts side of things is basic it is actually easy to understand.
Asset tree structure easy to use, and simple to walk thru assets details.
Printing attaching documents simple.
Screens are quick to load (optimize with profiles and ranges).
Cons
Financial side is a bit basic, will be limiting for large companies.
Scheduler system not the best.
Even thou pages are infinitely customizable for users there is a compromise with the screen tlagging ages to load/freezing..
The odd annoying bug.
Tailored to fleet/mining..
Wire frame reports a bit on the basic side.
MEX app only IOS.

Mex Administrator
The team at MEX are very helpful and obliging. They are quick to respond to requests for help, and in the four and a half years of administering MEX through full implementation cycles, I don't think they have ever said 'we can't do that' to calls for product customisations.
Pros
MEX Maintenance is value for money, easy to set up and implement. It's intuitive to use for the end user. The product allows for a lot of nifty user customisation functions which enables the support of client management of work processes.
Cons
Setting up security is a necessary evil for any system. While MEX is easy to set the security for different user groups, it is a bit difficult to get an overall picture of what security has been set for each group without clicking though each menu option and screen.

Casella Family Brands initiated the use of Mex in 2007 "Just to help us with Maintenance", Who would have thought of the wide usage & power of the system now, The Business has grown considerably & Mex has adapted & grown with us from the early days of 10 users to now having 225 users, the business was on 1 site now we have multiple sites looking after maintenance function of 150+ maintenance staff & an asset register with over 10,000 assets. All functions of the Mex System are utilized from the requesting process & approval to the acquisition of parts & final Scheduling, A comprehensive history has been developed which we now have as a resource to use on reporting regulatory requirements & in moving the maintenance function forward strategically. The system may not be the biggest out there but its ability to be adaptable to our designed maintenance program whilst keeping a robust user environment is invaluable in running the day to day maintenance function, Mex is now in the centre of all the maintenance functions on all our sites giving us control of all our labour, materials, running costs & information.
Pros
Its ability to adapt to our changing maintenance function while withholding a robust user environment.
Cons
The systems scheduler is clunky & needs improvement, eventually as every user continues down the path of true jobs control the scheduling of the workload must be the pathway to this result.

Good but...
The software is full of great features, however they are only as great as the information that goes in, which can sometimes lead to frustration. We use MEX to run our stores (although no ordering happens through MEX unfortunately)
We also use the Preventative Maintenance in a big way, and some features are still struggling to be realized (for instance, the hierarchy of PM's)
However, when good information is input consistently, fairly consistent results are output.
Pros
Good features for stores and preventative maintenance etc. Lots of information and recording of history is possible.
Great to be able to add photos and all sorts of information in behind stores items, or work orders.
Cons
Often can be running slow and a bit clunky. Some features are not user friendly/intuitive to use (e.g. exiting a field in order to save) Building custom reports is way over-complicated for someone without the correct training.
Certain stock reports do not work, as they seem to have been installed or set up incorrectly.

Use of MEX
The running of our monthly PMS - MEX assists in running the script. We have had a couple of hiccups in that I was not aware of what the script did when the PMS ran, however, over the last few months we have managed to iron out everything.
MEX consultants/staff are great, helpful and always friendly - [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]especially is always helpful.
I have had one on one training with [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]- he was fantastic.
Pros
MEX is relatively easy to use and meets the businesses needs and most especially the needs of the Client
Cons
Previous users/administrators have customised the system, which is fine if you have had previous experience in using MEX - however, where scripts have been put in place in order to run certain parts of MEX can make things a little difficult - especially where the person leaves the business.

MEX Maintenance Review
MEX is already showing the business that we are top heavy with trades waiting around for break downs, with this information we now can plan more effectively by having trades onsite when required to carryout planned maintenance activities and not just be a breakdown team giving them more machine up-time.
Pros
MEX is by far one of the best CMMS I've used so far in my career its functionality makes it an easy system to implement which intern gives eases of use to the end user (maintenance trades),
Also regions is a great tool to setup multiple site locations across the business ensuring we have a standardised asset tree and control files,
Cons
Mex today requires further development by giving you the ability to import rosters into your schedule which will give you better planning functionality

Easy to use system. Great support and service
MEX is a great program and very easy to use.
The staff are friendly (that's you reception ladies) and very informative and helpful (support guys).
The front end platform looks great, is easy to navigate, and I like that you are able to set permissions to allow or restrict access to certain areas.
I particularly like the ability to take MEX with you via the iOS app.
As with any program there are occasional glitches or issues, but the support staff and developers do a fantastic job sorting things out where they can.
I would highly recommend MEX for anyone in the market for a good CMMS.
Pros
The support and assistance you get from the MEX staff. I believe that is key to any good program.
Cons
Nothing. I really enjoy using it.

Easy to use & friendly helpful service
Keeping it as a one stop shop for all our Asset documentation, reports & setting up a catalogue to ensure parts are kept as required & there when needed. Allowing the history of the Maintenance department to be kept accurate & up to date.
Pros
Still getting to know what it can do but am finding new ways everyday to streamline processes & keep accurate records
Cons
Having to customise things that should come with it - like closing work orders you have to manually enter the date closed instead of it automatically entering from trades tab last dated & timed entry.

Overall we have found MEX easy to use and customisable to meet our needs.
Pros
MEX is great for customisation - we can do most of the customisation ourselves, and for more complicated changes, the MEX team are helpful and responsive. This means we can adjust the system to meet our processes, not the other way around.
Cons
MEX can be a bit hard to use on mobile devices. Some features are not usable, and the layouts can be hard to see.

Great system, easy to use and very user friendly
In my previous role I used Mainpac and the difference between the 2 systems is chalk & cheese, MEX is the better system by far in my eyes
Pros
I used MEX some years ago when it was first being introduced and found it to be really easy to use back then. I am now using the product on a daily basis to manage multiple sites for all of their Maintenance needs from Preventative Maintenance to Purchasing the system has a lot to offer. The reports available in MEX allow

I dont really have any problems or dislikes with the system, anything I'm unsure about only requires a quick phone call to MEX to assist in helping me sort this out

Customer service like no other.
It has been extremely refreshing to deal with a company who has proactive employees across all areas of the company that I have dealt with. Sales, Training, service, and support.
Pros
I deal with suppliers from various industries every day. MEX is one of the most proactive companies for service and support I have ever dealt with. The software has also been designed to be simple to use which has been immensely helpful for while rolling it out and training our team.
Cons
So far we don't have any cons. We will probably ask for extra features along the way as we get used to the software. However if MEX are as responsive to this as they have been with support and training then I'm sure it will work out well for us.

Great product for mid size company

It is easy to understand and has a good amount of functionality without being too complicated
Cons
there seems to be some features that do not work the way they should sometimes. Glitches in the system. Improvement in the mobile app functionality would be good and adding an Android App to the option would be good too.
