Who it's for HedgeGuard fits growing and mid-sized managers: firms running from one fund to a dozen, usually with a small operations team. Emerging managers launching a first vehicle, established multi-strategy managers, traditional firms adding a digital-asset sleeve, and crypto-native funds moving toward institutional reporting standards. The common thread is a fund that has outgrown spreadsheets but would be poorly served by platforms built for the largest institutions, where implementation is a multi-quarter project and pricing assumes a dedicated technology team. Headcount and AUM are unrelated here — many clients run substantial books with fewer than ten people. What it does HedgeGuard captures trades from your venues and custodians, prices each position from documented sources, calculates exposure and P\&L, reconciles against custodian and administrator records, and produces investor and regulatory reporting — all from one book. Coverage spans equities, fixed income, funds, FX, listed and OTC derivatives, and digital assets including spot crypto, perpetuals, options and staked positions. The OMS handles order raising, pre-trade compliance against UCITS, AIFMD, MiFID II and your own mandate limits, FIX routing, and allocation across funds and share classes. Risk covers VaR, stress testing and exposure monitoring. What makes it different Two things. First, HedgeGuard is dual-native. Traditional and digital assets sit in the same book of record and run through the same daily valuation and reconciliation cycle. A fund holding both produces one NAV, one break queue and one investor report — rather than maintaining a crypto tool alongside a traditional system and reconciling the two before it can report at all. Most platforms added crypto as a module; this one didn't. Second, HedgeGuard sells software and operations together. The same platform can be run by your team, or run for you by a HedgeGuard middle-office team handling trade capture, reconciliation, NAV oversight and investor reporting as an extension of your fund. A two-person firm can present the operational infrastructure an allocator expects without hiring an operations function first — and bring that work in-house later without changing systems. Support and onboarding Every client has a named contact who knows their fund structure, rather than a general support queue. HedgeGuard was built by ex-buyside professionals — portfolio managers, risk officers and middle-office operators — so support conversations are about your NAV, not ticket categories. Deployment runs in three tiers: a new fund starting from a clean sheet typically goes live in 30 days, a migration from an existing system including historical data in 60, and a full deployment with third-party APIs and integrations in 90. Your existing system stays live until you have signed off on reconciled numbers. Connectivity spans 115+ venues and counterparties — custodians, prime brokers, fund administrators, market-data providers, exchanges, OTC desks and on-chain wallets — over FIX, REST and WebSocket APIs, or file ingestion where a counterparty has no API. Data is hosted on EU-only infrastructure with AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit and role-based access control. A SOC 2 Type II report is available under NDA. When HedgeGuard isn't the right fit Funds running high-frequency or heavily algorithmic execution usually keep a specialist EMS alongside HedgeGuard rather than replacing it. Very large institutions with dedicated technology teams and existing enterprise stacks are generally better served elsewhere.
